Walking Dead Reveals Alpha’s Whisperer Plan (It’s Not What We Expected)

By
Charles Nicholas Raymond

The Walking Dead season 10, episode 5 reveals how Alpha (Samantha Morton) plans to win the Whisperer War, and it’s something of a surprise.

The Walking Dead finally reveals how Alpha (Samantha Morton) plans to win the Whisperer War. The five communities and the Whisperers have been at odds since season 9, and the conflict between them heated up even further when the Whisperers killed ten of their people, but the war between them didn’t truly kick off until the season 10 premiere when Carol (Melissa McBride) crossed the border.

The Whisperers, who were the main antagonists of season 9, are filling the same role in the show’s tenth season. Aided by her two chief allies, Beta (Ryan Hurst) and Gamma (Thora Birch), Alpha is determined to wipe out the other communities, but exactly how she plans to accomplish this hasn’t been explained in detail until now.

A scene in The Walking Dead season 10, episode 5 explains Alpha’s master plan. Apparently, Alpha has been holding back, only hitting their enemies with waves of zombies when they could be sending massive hordes. When one Whisperer suggests that they try unleashing an «army of thousands«, Alpha disagrees and cuts him on the leg and arm. Alpha says that a few «nicks» are all it takes to cause the collapse of the human body, and goes on to say that their enemies are the same way. According to Alpha, these «nicks» that they’re wearing the other communities down with include the tree that fell on the Hilltop wall, the zombie dam, the border, and the waves of zombies.

The logic behind this plan is that none of these things will defeat the communities, but all of them combined will «crush» them. Alpha doesn’t want to use up their biggest weapon so soon. Instead, Alpha believes that it’s best to beat them slowly. Subduing the enemy over a long period of time with small victories that don’t require the loss of too many of their own resources is an old war strategy. It’s a far cry from how Rick’s people and the Saviors handled the All-Out War, which consisted of several large-scale battles.

Alpha’s plan to cripple — rather than obliterate — the enemy is an interesting yet devious course of action. it demonstrates Alpha’s wisdom and patience, two qualities that are key to winning wars. At this point, it appears that the advantage belongs to Alpha, someone who clearly knows what she’s doing (even though she has one vital weakness). Alpha is playing the long game, so it may be a while before her efforts take a serious toll on the main characters. If Alpha’s strategy is as effective as she believes, Alexandria and the Hilltop  may be faced with various hard-hitting disasters through the rest of the season.

description, trailers, content, interesting facts and much more about the TV series

  • The Walking Dead series is an adaptation of the comic book series of the same name, which began to be published in 2003.
  • Among the producers of the series is Robert Kirkman, who is the author of the comic.
  • There are characters in the series that are not in the original comic, such as the Dixon brothers.
  • Zombie actors attended a special zombie school to learn how to move like zombies.
  • The first episode of The Walking Dead was the highest rated episode in AMC’s history, with approximately 5.3 million viewers.
  • During the filming of one of the scenes in Atlanta, Michael Rooker, who played Marle Dixon, fired a gun while standing on the roof of a building. The townspeople thought that a crime was being committed and called the police. As a result, the S.W.A.T.
  • The makeup of the most memorable zombie took 3 hours.
  • The name of Edwin Jenner, a doctor, appears in the series. This fact is not a coincidence. The fact is that this British scientist is the discoverer of the vaccine. It was he who came up with the idea of injecting the cowpox virus into the body, which is not dangerous to humans, as a defense against infection.
  • Daryl’s weapon is a Horton Scout HD 125 crossbow.
  • Episode 13 of the second season was filmed on a fairly cold night. Because of this, in the end, it was necessary to remove steam from the mouths of the dead with the help of computer graphics.
  • Rick is from King County, but no such city actually exists. Thus, Frank Darabont paid tribute to the famous writer and his friend Stephen King.
  • Viewers can see the emblem on Carl’s T-shirt. She is the emblem of another Kirkman comic called Science Dog.
  • The actors playing the roles of zombies ate lunch instead of, but separately from, the actors playing humans throughout the filming.
  • In a number of episodes in the second season, some characters smoke Morley cigarettes. Cigarettes of the same brand were smoked by the Smoker, a character from the TV series The X-Files.
  • The ratio of live to zombies in the series is 1 to 5000.
  • Throughout the series, the cocked pistol sound effect is used incorrectly. Usually, when a character draws a pistol, a cocked sound is heard, but a frequently used pistol does not have an external striker, but an internal one, known as a strike plate (for example, on the Glock brand). Likewise with other handguns that have external strikers, like revolvers, we hear them cocking, but when the gun appears on screen, the striker is still clearly not cocked.
  • Most of the characters appear far too well, and none suffer from the medical, dental, hygiene, or hunger problems they should have. In reality, people should be tired, exhausted, bony, dying from common viral infections, minor injuries, colds and flu.
  • Many characters appear to be overweight and oversized. This looks very implausible, given the constant search for dwindling food supplies.
  • Survivors will not lack small arms ammunition for generations. The BATFE estimates between 300 and 400 billion rounds, or about a third of the trillion rounds, of small arms ammunition in the US in civilian hands, retail and wholesale pipelines, law enforcement, and the military (in that order). Even if 1/3 were gunned down in the original zombie world and 1/3 was destroyed or never found, there would still be millions and millions of ammo available for every survivor. Melee weapons can be useful in dealing with most zombies due to the low noise, but everyone will always carry and use firearms to keep other people at bay and use as a last ditch against unexpected large numbers of zombies.
  • The fuel that people use in their cars, if it were a mixture of ethanol, would deteriorate significantly in just 12 months, and since the events of the series drag on for several years, the fuel would be unusable by then, and yet people seem to use it without problems.
  • Throughout the series, characters regularly start and race abandoned cars. In real life, over the several years the show covered, the gasoline in abandoned cars would have gone bad long ago and many cars would have been unusable.
  • A firearm fires far more rounds than the magazine would actually hold, and the reloading process is never shown.
  • Daryl continues to ride his motorcycle, despite the fact that such a loud vehicle is sure to attract the attention of both walkers and the living.
  • For the last few seasons, there have been references to Eugene making «bullets» in a machine shop he found. This is an incorrect reference to what is actually a «cartridge». The cartridge is actually an assembly of 4 components: a brass body, a lead bullet (usually encased in copper), powder, and a primer. While it is conceivable that a lead bullet could be cast with the correct bullet shape, there was no mention of them having one for the range of calibers used in the show. The machine shop is not good for casting bullets — raw lead is enough to melt in a furnace, and suitable molds are what is needed. Machining the cases would be incredibly difficult in a conventional machine shop, if possible. There is also no mention in the series of obtaining large quantities of gunpowder and primers, which would be necessary to make workable cartridges. Hand molding real bullets would be tedious, time consuming, and produce very inaccurate cartridges that would not be effective beyond 25 yards. It is impossible to build primers without highly specialized equipment, raw materials and the right flash powder, which is not even sold in gun shops.
  • Zombie blood in the eyes, in the mouth (and even in open wounds!), doesn’t seem to make the living «turn around».
  • It is very common for characters to kill walkers by pushing a knife up through their lower jaws. Most of the knives they use aren’t long enough to reach the brain, so the walkers basically just get stabbed in the mouth, but oddly enough, that’s enough.
  • There is no sane reason why Michonne’s technique of walking with two zombies on leashes keeps other zombies from attacking her. By that logic, anyone walking among zombies, whether covered in zombie blood and guts or not, should be safe as long as they don’t do anything to draw attention to themselves.
  • Guns and ammunition should be more easily found with 300 million registered firearms, as well as millions of illegal and millions of military/law enforcement agencies.
  • The time it takes for people to turn into zombies varies greatly depending on the particular storyline. The time people claim it takes to transform often doesn’t match the actual time.
  • Throughout the series, Carl physically ages much faster than anyone else. Neither the child (Judith) nor the boy (Sam Anderson), who would have been the same age as Carl, show such accelerated aging. Not only is there no explanation, all the characters act without paying attention to it. Despite Carl’s slow brain development, he is still considered much older.
  • Daryl discovered that Sophia had taken shelter and had just eaten after Otis was first seen. Besides, Otis’ whereabouts are always known.
  • At the very beginning of Season 1 Episode 1, when Rick approaches the crash site, the overturned truck can be seen to have no engine or gearbox.
  • In the 1st episode of the 1st season, Rick’s injury appears in different places in different frames — sometimes on the chest, sometimes on the side, sometimes on the shoulder. It is also surprising that Rick walked almost half the city on foot, but did not even get his soles dirty.
  • In the 2nd episode of the 1st season, the gloves on the adjacent frames are either dirty or clean. Likewise with Glenn’s collar, which cleans itself.
  • In the 3rd episode of the 1st season, in the scene of Rick’s reunion with his family, a camera operator carelessly hit the frame. In the same episode, Daryl extracts arrows from the carcass of a dead deer, pulling out a piece of artificial animal synthetic stuffing at the same time.
  • In episode 5 of season 1, Emmy’s right cheek is clean and then covered in blood. At the same time, Andrea stroked only her left cheek, and the truth should not have gotten dirty. It is the same with the ear: sometimes it is pure, sometimes it is in the blood.
  • In season 1, episode 6, Shane, wearing gloves, tries to lift Rick out of bed, and then, when he sees that Rick is connected to the machine, he approaches him without gloves.
  • In the 1st episode of the 2nd season, T-Dog badly hurts his hand. Blood gushing in all directions, but after a couple of seconds, T-Dog’s arm is safe and sound, but after a couple of moments, the wound returns. In the same series, you can see the busy movement of cars on the highway in the windshield — impossible in the apocalypse movie.
  • In the 5th episode of the 2nd season, in one of the scenes, the buttons of the shirt on the adjacent frames are either unbuttoned or buttoned. In the same episode, the blood on Daryl’s face alternates between the right and the left.
  • In the 6th episode of the 2nd season, a passer-by accidentally appears in the background in the frame. In the same series, Andrea’s magazine falls, which does not prevent her from continuing to shoot without it.
  • In season 2, episode 7, Dale tries to hide a weapon in the forest, but Shane catches up with him and takes the weapon bag. The wedge from Dale’s hand, which he was just about to hammer, turns out to be already hammered into the tree. At the same time, the T-shirt stretched out from the muzzle of the rifle, before the barrel stuck into it. Then again everything leveled out and the trace disappeared. Another noticeable blunder in episode 7 is associated with a mountain of shot walkers: either they lie in a crowd, blocking the entrance to the barn, or sparsely, opening the entrance. Also in this episode, Rick shoots an infected Sophia, and the girl falls on her right side, but at the beginning of the next episode she ends up on her stomach. Another inconsistency between the series concerns Hershel’s wife. At the end of episode 7, the woman’s entire cheek was torn down and her jaw was opened, and in episode 8, only a small wound remains on her cheek.
  • In episode 10 of season 2, Shane and Rick bring Randall with his hands tied behind his back. Randall freed his legs and his hands were in front. However, then it reappears from behind, and then again in front.
  • In the 13th episode of the 2nd season, walkers are shown breaking the fence. The boards are nailed in a checkerboard pattern. When the fence is broken, the boards are cut straight. In the same episode, Carl runs down the street to unbutton, in the barn the jacket is buttoned up, but in the next frame it is unbuttoned again.
  • In season 3, episode 4, Carol runs away in a hat when they start eating T-Dog. Daryl then finds the same headgear next to T-Dog’s body.
  • In the 7th episode of the 3rd season, the barrel of a rifle on different shots is either completely straight, or for some reason curved. In the same series, a blunder with Maggie. When she is sitting tied up at the Governor’s table, he orders her to undress. On one frame there are no bra straps, on the other they appear.
  • In episodes 8 and 9 of season 3, Glenn was tied to a chair with duct tape. He broke it, and the tape and legs remained in his hands, but in the next frame, when the Governor enters and Maggie, there is nothing left in his hands. Oddities and with Glenn’s face: the right ear is whole, then it bleeds, then again whole.
  • In episode 10 of season 3, the tattoo on Daryl’s back moves from his right shoulder blade to his left. In the same episode, Daryl closes the trunk, killing a walker (while his hands are in blood), in the next frame he takes a crossbow (his hands are already clean). At the end of this episode, Rick is talking to Hershel, while at the same moment, Rick’s head is turned in two different positions with a difference of 90 degrees.
  • At the beginning of episode 12 of season 3, Rick has a clean shirt, after a while the shirt is covered in blood, then again whole and clean. In the same episode, Morgan stabs Rick in the shoulder, after which the knife falls to the floor completely clean. After the fight, Morgan’s face is either covered in blood or completely clean.
  • In episode 13 of season 3, the rear window of the pickup truck is either there or not.
  • In season 3, episode 14, Andrea faces two zombies in turn. Oni kills them, stains his hands with blood, but when he runs through the forest, his hands are clean again. In the same episode, The Governor breaks several windows while chasing Andrea. At the same time, the first glass explodes from pyrotechnics a second before the Governor takes it out.
  • In season 3, episode 15, for the same car scene, Merle uses three cars: she leaves in one, drives in another, arrives in a third. In the same series, the crossbow suddenly turns into a rifle.
  • In episode 1 of season 4 Daryl walks away with Carol in torn trousers and a sleeveless jacket (he has a plate in his hands), in the next frame he is in other trousers and jacket (continues to talk and eats). It is unlikely that he went to change clothes, and Carol was waiting for him with a cup.
  • In the 4th episode of the 4th season, the operator was reflected in the window where Daryl had just seen the walkers. A little later, Rick is talking to Maggie, and the car door at this moment is either closed or open.
  • In the 5th episode of the 4th season, Rick got out of the car, closed the door, and he did not approach the car again. However, the car doors open and close on their own. In the same episode, Maggie and Rick heard shots and ran during the day, and ran at night (moving around the prison with flashlights).
  • In Episode 6, Season 4, a girl is sitting in an open window, and a second later the window is closed and the girl disappears. In the same series, there is a blunder with bags: the girls do not leave the house anywhere and do not move their things, but in the morning they hang in a different order, and another red bag appears.
  • In episode 7 of season 4, a crowd of zombies are floundering in a swamp on the road, and the zombie girl is left with a clean, flesh-colored shoulder.
  • In the 8th episode of the 4th season, the Governor shoots with his left hand, while holding the gun in such a way that the cartridge case should fly off and hit him right in the only surviving eye. In the same series, a question arises for the prisoners of the Governor. Their hands are tied in front, there is no guard except for the Governor himself, who has his back to them. Why didn’t they try to untie each other’s hands? In the gunfight scene, blood on the shirt appears before the shot is fired, then the shirt is shown to be clean.
  • In episode 10 of season 4, in the scene with Glenn on the porch, the chairs near the door first stand and then disappear.
  • In episode 11 of season 4, when Eugene notices the walkers in the forest, it’s raining outside, but in the next frame the road and the truck’s wheels are already dry.
  • In the 12th episode of season 4, Beth only stains her jacket, but the bottom T-shirt is also dirty. After a couple of minutes, the shirt is completely clean.
  • In one of the scenes, a walking dead man is seen drinking mineral water.
  • The wheels on Marle Dixon’s car in episode 15 of the third season (31 minutes) are different from those of a minute before.
  • When Daryl is delirious and thinks he is talking to his brother, his face is either clear or sandy.

On the night of November 21, viewers watched the last episode of The Walking Dead series. The successful project of the AMC channel ran for 11 seasons, the last of which was the longest — 24 episodes. The total number of episodes has reached 177. And this is not quite the end.

The series about a group of people who are trying to survive during a zombie apocalypse was created by film director, screenwriter and producer Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) based on the Walking Dead comic book by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard.

The media were reserved about the end of the grandiose project. For example, the Forbes author admitted that he felt devastated and disappointed, because the finale of the show met all the elements that annoyed him throughout the project, plus it was too crumpled and obvious, and the final conflict was poorly developed. Nevertheless, at some points the series still showed all its splendor.

In 2018, the creators of the series stated that The Walking Dead had already become a whole universe and it was not worth offending its fans, so the plot would continue for another 10 years, including in various spin-offs. For example, since 2015, the series Fear the Walking Dead has been released, since 2021 — the series The Walking Dead: The World Beyond, Tales of the Walking Dead and Island of the Dead are also being developed.
