Rules

All intramural participants are responsible for their own
medical expenses. Any student unsure of their physical condition should check
with their family physician or the Student Infirmiry before participating in
intramural sports.

Game time is forfeit time.

The officiating will be done by officials who are in absolute
control of the game. Teams are responsible for keeping their spectators under
control. Misconduct of spectators, players or coaches can result in assessment
of a technical foul, ejection or forfeiture of the game. Spectators must also
remain in the area designated by the officials. The officials shall have the
power to make decisions on any matters or questions not specifically covered in
the rules.

Any rule not mentioned in the following will be governed by
National Federation of State High School Association rules.

1. Players and Substitutes

1.1 A team consists of 5 players, but may start with 4 players.
A team must have 4 players on the court at all times. Exception: Three players
are allowed if a player cannot continue due to an injuryor he/she has fouled out
of the game.

1.2 When a team has forfeited, the opposing team must have at
least 4 players checked in to receive a win, unless the forfeit was decided upon
well before game time and both teams were notified.

1.3 Substitutions must be reported to the scorer before entering
the game. Substitutes may enter the game only when the official acknowledges
them. Penalty: Technical foul.

1.4 Teams must wear shirts with the same shade of color and
each shirt must have a different number. The size of each number
must be at least six inches.

1.5 All players must wear non-marking rubber-soled athletic
shoes.

1.6 Jewelry of any kind (friendship
bracelets, chains, rings or earrings) may not be worn. Penalty: Technical
Foul.

1.7 Casts (plaster, metal or other hard substances in their
final form) or any other item judged to be dangerous by the supervisor, official
or athletic trainer may not be worn during the game. Knee braces made of hard,
unyielding substances covered on both sides with all edges overlapped and any
other hard substance covered with at least 1/2 inch of slow recovery rubber or
similar material will be allowed.

2. Length of Game and Timing

2.1 There will be two twenty minute halves of continuous running
time. Clock stops for time outs or official time outs (e.g. for injuries or
retrieving a ball). Clock is not stopped for violations. Exception: During the
last two minutes of the second half, the clock will be stopped for all dead ball
situations (e. g., violations, turnovers, time outs, fouls, etc.).

2.2 When a team is shooting free throws and a time out is
called, the clock will start when the ball is touched after a throw in on a made
basket or when the ball is touched in bounds on a missed basket. The clock
continues to run on technical fouls unless a time out has been
called.

2.3 Three minute intermission between halves.

2.4 If necessary, a 2 minute overtime shall be played to
determine a winner. Clock stops on all dead ball situations. The overtime period
will be repeated until a winner is declared. There will be a 1 minute break
between each overtime.

2.5 Mercy Rule:

35 point lead at or after halftime or 15 points at the 2-minute mark.

In an effort to prevent teams from running up the score, the maximum
amount of points that can be gained in point differential will be 35. This will
in no way affect the mercy rule which is already in effect at 2 minutes with
a lead of 15 or more.

3. Time Outs

3.1 Each team will have four, one minute, time outs per game
with a limit of two per half. After each time out, the official should record
the number of the player who called the time out and the time it was
called.

3.2 Time outs may only be called by the team with possession of
the ball or during a dead ball situation.

3.3 Time outs in excess of the allotted number may be requested
and shall be granted during regulation playing time or during any overtime
period at the expense of a technical foul. The technical foul must be given even
if the official was unaware that the time out was excessive.

3.4 One time out per overtime is allowed. Time outs from
regulation play do not carry over into the overtime.

4. Violations

4.1 Back Court: Teams will have ten seconds to
cross the half court line. Once the ball has been established across the half
court line (both feet and the ball), it is a violation to cross back over into
the back court. Penalty: Turnover.

4.2 Three seconds: An offensive player cannot
be inside of or in contact with the free throw lane for more than three seconds
while the ball is in his/her team’s front court. Penalty:
Turnover.

4.3 Five Seconds: If a player is closely
guarded (within six feet) in the front court and holds the ball for more than
five seconds, or dribbles the ball for more than five seconds then a violation
will be called. Penalty: Turnover.

4.4 Kicking: Kicking the ball is a violation
only when it is an intentional act; accidentally striking the ball with the foot
or leg is not a violation.

5. Throw In Violation

5.1 The thrower shall not leave the designated
throw in spot until the ball has crossed the plane of the boundary, except on the baseline after a made basket.
Penalty: Turnover.

5.2 The thrower must pass the ball into the
court within five seconds of the start of a throw in. Penalty:
Turnover.

5.3 The thrower may step on but not over the
sideline.

5.4 The opponent of the thrower cannot reach
through the throw in boundary plane and foul the thrower. Penalty:
Intentional Foul.

5.5 The opponent of the thrower cannot reach
through the throw in boundary plane and touch or dislodge the ball.
Penalty: Technical Foul.

5.6 The opponent of the thrower cannot cross
the end line or its imaginary plane. This is a delay of game. The team should be
warned on the first offense and then penalized with a technical foul on each
subsequent offense.

6. Fouls

6.1 A player shall be allowed 5 personal fouls per game. On the
fifth personal, that player shall be removed from the game. A personal fouls is
a player foul that involves illegal contact with an opponent while the ball is
live.

6.2 A double foul is a situation in which two opponents commit
personal fouls against each other at approximately the same time. In the case
of a double foul, fouls are recorded, no free throws are awarded, and
play shall resume at the point of interruption. This means the team in possession
of the ball at the time of the fouls will get the ball out of bounds.

6.3 An intentional foul is a personal or technical foul designed
to stop or keep the clock from starting, to neutralize an opponent’s obvious
advantageous position, and contact away from the ball or when not playing the
ball.

6.4 A flagrant foul may be a personal or technical foul of a
violent or savage nature or a technical non contact foul, which displays
unacceptable conduct. If a flagrant foul occurs the player is ejected from the
game.

6.5 when a player control (charging) foul is committed, no
points can be scored.

6.6 A technical foul is a foul by a non player, a non contact
foul by a player; an intentional or flagrant contact foul while the ball is
dead.

6.61 One technical foul against a player or coach can result in
immediate ejection of that person from the game. Two technical fouls constitute
immediate ejection from the game and playing area.

6.62 Slapping either backboard or grabbing the rim is a
technical foul. A player may grab the rim to prevent injury.

6.63 Dunking is legal during the game only. Dunking or touching the rim during warm ups or in a dead ball situation will result
in a technical foul.

6.64 A technical foul on a spectator or coach is charged
to the team captain. Any two players and/ or coaches and/ or spectators ejected
from a game will result in an automatic forfeiture of the game by the offending
team. A technical foul will also be recorded as a personal foul of the offender;
also included in the total team fouls.

7. Free Throws

7.1 A player will receive the one and one bonus after the offending
team has accumulated 7 fouls each half. This rule applies to all fouls except
shooting, offensive, technical, intentional or
flagrant. On the tenth foul and thereafter the opposing team will shoot two
free throws for all fouls except offensive fouls.

7.2 When a player control foul is committed, the basket will not
be allowed and free throws will not be awarded.

7.3 Players will be allowed two free throws and possession of
the ball for all technical, intentional or flagrant fouls.

7.4 Players will be allowed two free throws when fouled in the
act of shooting. If the basket is made, then it counts and the player is allowed
one free throw.

7.5 Any shooting foul committed behind the three point line, on
a missed shot, will merit three free throws. If a player is fouled, in the act
of shooting, behind the three point line, and makes the shot, one shot will be
awarded.

7.6 Each of the second positions to the end line must be
occupied by an opponent of the free thrower. The lane spaces adjacent are not to be occupied.

8. Free Throw Violations

8.1 Players wishing to occupy the marked lane spaces must do so
quickly, and must alternate lane spaces if the opponenets wish to occupy the
space nearest them. These players may enter the lane as soon as the ball
has touched the rim and/or backboard.

8.2 Any player other than the free thrower, who does not occupy
a marked lane space, must be behind the free throw line extended and behind
the three point line. These players may not enter this area until the
ball has touched the rim and/or backboard.

8.3 The thrower must not touch the free throw line. He/she
cannot fake a try and must release the ball within 10 seconds.

a. In a one and one situation this will result in a
turnover.

b. If this occurs on the first attempt of a two shot foul, then
the first shot is void and the second will be administered.

c. If this occurs on the second attempt of a two shot foul, then
it will result in a turnover.

8.4 Failure to cause the ball to touch the rim will result in a
dead ball.

a. In a one and one situation this will result in a
turnover.

b. If this occurs on the first attempt of a two shot foul, then
the first shot is void and the second will be administered.

c. If this occurs on the second attempt of a two shot foul, then
it will result in a turnover.

The Division 2 was heavily discounted on Steam, but received low player reviews and moderate interest

Ubisoft has finally released The Division 2 on Steam and discounted it right away. Players (not from Russia and Belarus) within the next two weeks can take advantage of the offer and buy a product with a 70% discount in any of the three editions.

nine0002 The Division 2 was released in 2019, but at that time Ubisoft did not release their games on the Valve platform. In recent weeks, the studio has changed its approach to the platform, and Massive Entertainment’s shooter is a prime example of this. The Ubisoft game at the time of release received 82-84% on Metacritic, and the New York expansion was slightly worse received (74-82%).

At the time of publication, the game has 64% positive reviews, as there are complaints about crashes, lack of achievements and Steam cards. Positive reviews say that this is one of the last games where Ubisoft «really tried» with a huge interesting world, exciting activities, a pleasant pumping system, which makes it possible to immerse yourself in battles for hundreds of hours. nine0003

The Division 2 peak on Steam over the past 24 hours was 1979 players. The game is not available for purchase in Russia and Belarus.

Already today! How AI is replacing game developers

Artificial intelligence has learned to make games. So far, these are text quests, but the army of ordinary game developers has tensed up. Artists are already ready to raise an uprising against robots. Scriptwriters and programmers are looking at artificial intelligence as a competitor. We, the players, are interested in something else. And will the games created by AI be better than those offered to us today by people? nine0003

The standard of horror. How Dead Space was created

The release of Dead Space Remake is definitely the main event of January and the most important release of 2023. But the remake is made by other people, and the developers of the original game have nothing to do with it. We decided to take a look at the approach Visceral Games took when they created one of the best survival horror games to this day.

Potential hit? What is known about Hogwarts Legacy

How not ashamed? CRSED mobile battle royale review: Cuisine Royale

War Thunder is a popular project, its developers are loved in Russia and are interested in their projects. For the mobile version of the battle royale CRSED, Gaijin acted as the publisher. The game was released on smartphones and already in advance has collected positive ratings from loyal fans of the company. But Gaijin does not deserve such advances. On the contrary, the attitude of the company towards the players deserves only censure. nine0003

The Division 2 solo guide

Are you going to Washington DC? If so, check out this guide, it has everything a solo player needs to survive and kill the bad guys in the capital. nine0003

The Division 2 has arrived and all I can say is that the game is the best shooter since Borderlands 2. And when compared to fellow online shooter game friendly like Destiny, Anthem and Warframe, then The Division 2 deserves to be just finished and finished right at launch, a feat that no other similar game can boast of.

There are no bugs, the servers are super stable and everything works as intended. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to strengths. nine0003

The game offers players continuous loot that causes tiny dopamine hits that keep us playing more and more. But even with its excellent loot system, The Division 2 would feel like a chore after a while if it had boring combat.

But the reality is that strategic combat games are like turn-based strategy games in which positioning and constant awareness of the enemy are just as important as weapon strength and skill. nine0003

There is a ton of content, with varied missions and lots of memorable levels that make the game enjoyable even after you hit the level cap, which is the beginning of the final part of the game, which is also superbly designed.

Another thing where Massive has nailed it is the single player experience. Individual agents can enjoy the game in its many forms without needing other squad members to complete their main and side missions. In addition, every action in the open world can be completed on its own, and the loot system is designed to reward solo players in the same way as squads, with frequent drops containing plenty of high quality gear. nine0003

Because I usually play solo games with occasional immersion in multiplayer games like Battlefield, Rocket League, GT Sport or Forza 7, I didn’t want to play The Division 2 with a team.

And it worked very well most of the time. The game is all about catering to lone wanderers, and it tries to make every game mode playable without a squad.

I finished the main story, even visited the Dark Zone a couple of times, and it was playable, although super. Some of the late main missions can be quite punishing for people playing on their own, but with the right strategy and an effective combination of weapons and skills, they can be beaten. nine0003

I discovered many things that helped me conquer the Capital (well, at least until the Black Tusk forces decided to take back the entire map after I entered the endgame), and today I will share this with all of you who play without a squad. There are tons of tips here, so let’s get started right now.

Don’t try to be a hero

This is not original to Division. In The Division 2, a couple of seconds after taking cover can mean it’s game over even when you’re fully in a squad, so don’t play this game like Gears of War when playing solo, play it like the first three Uncharted games on maximum difficulty. nine0003

Enemies are aggressive and always move forward, surrounding you and gaining strength, so shooting behind cover and moving from cover to cover are the most important things everyone should know about.

Don’t try to advance between enemy waves, don’t shoot while out of cover, and definitely don’t try to play this game as an action game.

Instead, be mindful of the side routes and try to take out most of the enemies while they are with you, advance only when you know there are no enemies between your current position and your destination, and rush towards the enemies only when there is one left or two on the map. nine0003

This is not a game for heroes, for gamers who like to strive to achieve each goal and for those who hate shooters based on coverage.

LMG is a godsend

For a single player, the LMG is the best type of weapon, period. The biggest danger when playing solo are those unnerving moments when you have to reload your weapons, especially when you have melee enemies on the map, so a magazine with 100 military LMG bullets is the best thing that can happen to The Division 2 solo players . nine0003

Be sure to always carry one LMG with you, because even if you’re used to playing with an AR or a semi-automatic rifle, there will be times when one long shot of 100 bullets will be the only thing that can keep you going after you realize that half a dozen enemies have just entered room next to your position.

LMGs are also great for suppressing enemies. When I’m playing alone, it’s great that I can hold off a couple of villains, knowing that they won’t shoot me for a couple of seconds while I take down the one who is hidden. nine0003

Snipers are too limited when you play solo

While an LMG is the best friend a solo player can have in The Division 2, snipers can be your death warrant. They use scope, thus completely cutting your entire view of the battle when using it, which can be devastating in a game where every enemy is trying to flank you.

Then, they are permanently recharged, another serious disadvantage that can seriously hurt solo players. They also have a small margin for error, with each miss reducing your chances of negating fast-moving enemies. nine0003

And during the reboot sequence, you can be covered by teammates. But for solo players, snipers are the worst choice because they leave the wearer too defenseless and blind when zoomed in.

The only advice I can give to amateur snipers is that they swap out the 12x scope for another attachment, preventing zoom but also preventing them from going blind while aiming.

Throwing a grenade is the perfect solution

Grenades are not the best tool in The Division 2 because it takes a couple of seconds to select and the thrower is not smooth enough to use grenades in the middle of a battle. But as beginners, they are great.

Simply scan the area to find the largest concentration of enemies, then slowly get close enough to throw a grenade. Follow the movement pattern and throw the grenade as soon as the enemies begin to converge on one position so that the explosion destroys the most enemies. nine0003

Enemies (at least normal ones and those with purple health bars) will not run as soon as they see the grenade, they will just stare at it in awe until it explodes. You have to watch for an explosion with your weapon and take on a couple of enemies before they realize they’ve been attacked. Thus, each fight begins, and in a couple of seconds you destroy from 2 to 5 enemies.

Defensive Tower is great for covering the flank

Playing alone, you simply can’t cover both flanks while watching for potential threats that can fall on you in a straight line. You can cover one side and watch yourself, but that means you’ll get flanked again and again during every mission. nine0003

To prevent this and have excellent and deadly flanking alerts, simply equip a defensive tower.

The turret is quite lethal to enemies and causes them to be hit upon impact, giving you a precious couple of seconds to fill them with lead before they become dangerous.

When you’re on high ground, a turret can cover your back in case enemies can get behind you, and on open maps, placing a turret on a high point near the center of the map can just kill all normal enemies in just ten seconds or so Togo. nine0003

For solo players, a defensive turret is almost essential if they want to take on late game missions that are filled with enemies who love to flank.

The second ability may vary, but the fixer drone is probably the best choice. It hovers above you, repairing armor damage. It lasts a long time, can take a serious beating, is quite effective and if you team up can fix other team members as well.

It’s worth noting that there is a variant of the Beehive ability (small drones that come in different shapes) that can revive downed allies, but using it when you’re alone isn’t very useful.

The problem boils down to the fact that you need to activate this ability before dying, and the inconvenience of the Hive drones, limiting their usefulness to specific scenarios when you are stuck undercover and some boss is approaching you, ready to kill

You die during missions and that’s ok

The main missions in the second part of the game (when you unlock the areas to the left of the White House) can be quite punitive if done without a squad. They have many open spaces filled with various routes that can spell death for lone players. You will die a lot during these missions, and that’s okay.

Instead of being upset, use every death as a lesson. Observe enemy positions, scan for potential blind spots, learn how to advance the map without exposing your sides, and find the perfect cover that won’t let enemies get around you. nine0003

Teaming up with random players isn’t the end of the world

If you can’t complete the mission over and over again, you can either relax a bit and then come in with new strategies or team up with strangers.

It’s not the end of the world; most players don’t use a microphone and argue the game with you. They won’t leave once you die during a mission and most of the time I played with friendly strangers sharing their healing powers, tried to keep the same pace as me so we could pick every drop of loot and they all tried heal me when I fell. nine0003

You don’t need to communicate with them, you don’t need to add them as friends, just ask for help and then disband the group when you finish the mission that gives you trouble.

The best way to team up is to simply call for help (you can do this from the map menu) and then mark the action or mission you want to complete. The other player will see the sign and simply follow you.

Or you can just before a mission or event and wait until the game suits you. Asking for help while roaming in the open world is better than matchmaking for missions for those who don’t want to play with others. Instead of trying to make a team of four players, the game will close your challenge as soon as one more player joins your session. nine0003

You should unlock the following features as soon as possible

Solo players are more susceptible than those who play in squads, so the first thing you should unlock is the perk that increases the number of armor sets. Max it out and then unlock one that replenishes all of your armor sets and grenades every time you enter a safe area.

After you unlock this, choose the one that increases the number of grenades, and after that you can unlock the features that best suit your play style. nine0003

Open World Random Encounters

I’ve been killed almost dozens of times because I wanted to quickly kill the enemies I encountered while exploring Washington, and that can be a real pain.

Just take cover before engaging enemies and try not to get caught in the crossfire of two enemy groups.

Next, before you start destroying the control point or anything in the open world, look for nearby groups of enemies. I also got killed several times by activating a mission or triggering a conquest checkpoint without realizing the enemies were nearby, which resulted in me being attacked from behind and dying in just a couple of seconds. nine0003

So be careful when you roam the world if you are a solo player.

You don’t have to finish every project

This is more general advice for everyone. You can complete different projects for different settlements, but they don’t have to progress through the game. The good thing is that each project clearly defines the rewards in case you finish, so you are free to ignore the ones that provide uninteresting rewards.

Check suppliers regularly

Another general piece of advice. Regular vendors offer weaker gear, but they can surprise you from time to time. Therefore, try to check the sellers every time you arrive at the White House and different localities. nine0003

Oh, and remember all those white items you collect when you open boxes that aren’t used for crafting? They can be sold to any vendor (press X to sell them). I completely forgot about it and received about a thousand credits after I sold them after playing for fifteen hours.

Join a clan

Playing solo does not mean playing without a clan. Clans are great because they don’t require clan members to play together. Weekly rewards are earned by completing various tasks and do not require goals that can be achieved by playing in co-op. nine0003

There are a few competitive objectives in PvP, but you can play PvP solo just like the rest of the game, so that’s fine. And these weekly rewards are great — you can quite easily unlock the second tier of rewards, which gives everyone three superior (purple) pieces of gear each week, and often in these weekly drops you’ll find at least one piece of gear that can serve as an upgrade.

You also get access to a special clan merchant who has the best equipment and restocks it weekly. And finally, you have a clan with friendly players who will definitely help the right clan member, and even if you are playing alone, roaming the map with other members of your clan can be fun at times. nine0003

Don’t even think about being greedy in the dark zone

Dark Zones, The Division 2’s PvPvE mode that has lucrative rewards, can be a punishment for solo players. Dark Zone enemies are stronger and more numerous because Dark Zones are places where you expect squads, not solo players.

It will be difficult for you to stay alive, and every new minute and new infected prey will bring you closer to death.

And while The Array has stated that the Dark Zones are for both squads and lone wanderers this time around, the reality is that you can stumble upon a squad of players and they will kill you before you even know where they are. So while in the dark zone, avoid the AI enemies and try to use a more stealthy approach. nine0003

Next, don’t be greedy, don’t even think about it. Grab a couple of pieces of equipment and get out of there because A: you will be killed by AI enemies or B: you will run into a squad sooner or later and they will take all your things.

Checkpoint containers reset every 24 hours

Looting is more difficult for single players compared to teams. When you play with a full squad of 4, the game becomes easier, so you get loot. Enemies drop more gear and are easier to get. nine0003

Luckily, every checkpoint they own drops their loot crates every day. This means that conquering control points has one important advantage.

Every loot other than the big yellow one (the one that drops a weapon and armor part) gives out prizes every day, which means about 3 items per checkpoint. Halfway through the game, you can keep about 10 or 12 checkpoints, which means over 30 pieces of loot every day! And the gear isn’t that bad; I regularly find at least one item that can be equipped, and in most cases even more! nine0003

Playing with headphones can make your life much easier

The Division is a strategy game with third-person shooter mechanics and RPG design, and one of its strengths is the phenomenal game play. This works most of the time (but makes it downright crazy at times) and it’s pretty tricky.

Enemies are always trying to bypass you and they are aggressive. Half of them provide cover, while the other half try to flank your position and break you out of cover with grenades, rockets, molotovs, and some types of enemies. They are all over the place, and if you listen carefully, you can hear most of them announce their intentions before taking action. Enemies will yell when changing cover, notify everyone before throwing a grenade or using a rocket launcher. They shout before flanking action. nine0003

And all these beeps are easy to find if you put on a good pair of headphones. The 3D audio effect works great with a game like The Division 2, which means you can not only know someone is trying to get around you, but also know where they’re coming from.

This is great for solo players because knowing this is a huge help in a game where everyone is trying to outsmart you.

You can find out where enemies are before they change location on the radar, you can kill them before they become a real threat, you can use abilities to deal with incoming enemies even before they start attacking you. nine0003

If you’re playing solo, take headphones and you’ll notice that the number of deaths will be noticeably lower.

The game punishes solo players

No matter how much fun you have playing The Division 2 solo, the sad truth is that at some point you just need to start connecting with other people, and that moment will come as soon as you will reach the final.

The Black Tusk is invading the map, things get very complicated, and even with a full squad, some story missions can be incredibly difficult. nine0003

So if you’re planning on doing a solo endgame, just don’t do it.
