Notes

Serpentis Laser Battery have a random delay of -0.0625~0.1875 (average 0.125) seconds, causing Loki to attack slower than the weapon’s description when using them.

The Loki appears in the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty mission, «Engine of Destruction.» It is located in the fourth base on the right side of the map. It is dormant and invincible until a player unit moves next to it. The battlecruiser will attack units in range but will not chase for long before returning to its default position.[2]

Loki battlecruisers are used by Amon’s forces in Co-op Missions in higher difficulties of Void Launch, during the final wave as a Shuttle escort. They use their default stats (1500 health), and unlike Amon’s usual Battlecruisers, they will fire their yamatos on heroic units.

Strategy

To take it out and earn the achievement Kicking Asgard more easily, wait until the Odin is standing just Northwest the Loki‘s bay. Take a Viking and kite the ship over to the mech where they will fight. The Odin destroys the Loki at a loss of about 200 HP (depending on your other units in the area) and nets you the kill.

Abilities

The Loki has a «liftoff» ability which grants it movement. It does not have a land ability, but appears to have a «dock» ability which accomplishes the same thing. It is also a detector though not listed.

Yamato Cannon

Blasts a target with a devastating plasma cannon, causing 240 damage.

StarCraft 2 WoL Campaign: Mission 16 War Machine

StarCraft 2 Wings of Liberty Campaign, Expert walkthrough with all achievements:
Mission 16 War Machine

there will be almost all technologies and many improvements (one of the main ones is automatic gas production and grades for fixing ccm).

Task : Steal Odin, destroy the dominion base.
Achievement 1 Asa vs. Loki: On Fighter difficulty, destroy Loki’s cruiser.
Achievement 2 Ragnarok ‘n’ Roll:
Complete the mission on Veteran difficulty without Odin’s health falling below 30%.
Achievement 3/Extra mission:
Find 3 Zerg DNA samples.

Main principles of the mission:

  • This is the first mission where the marauders/medics will die from tanks/reapers and other equipment, so we add marauders to the mix who will take damage.
  • You can’t get through the expert with air alone, because ground damage is low and your ccs will be destroyed immediately.
  • Conclusion: You need to have both ground and air armies at the same time.

Don’t miss 1 Zerg DNA at the very beginning. The main thing is to stay close to Tychus and you will reach Thor without any problems.

Start building a base, xm, supplies. Try to make 1 fighter, and invest the rest in grades and infantry.

1 base: Pretty simple, fighters kill medivacs and just deal damage, and your infantry takes damage.
Send 2 xm with a torus, they will be healed by medics so they will survive.

Immediately fly fighters to the 2nd base, your goal is to kill the crow. Be careful, first you will need to run away from the hound.

By this time you should have leveled up the base, added a second barracks and grades. From one barrack with a technical lab, we stamp marauders, from the other with a mariko / medic reactor. We order fighters for all the remaining resources. It is important to help Odin in this attack from the very beginning and highlight the enemy for him, otherwise he will come too close to the enemy and everyone will shoot at him at once.

2nd base: there will be several attacks on you from the side, which scatter from 2-3 shots of the torus, but very quickly click out the doctors and infantry.

By the 3rd attack, you should already have the base, grades both on the ground and on the air (at least almost ready), and only the order of units remains. Don’t forget the Battle Boars.

Tip: Don’t forget to constantly make sure that Tychus is followed by 2-3 kcm.

3rd base: Before the attack, try to focus all air targets and tanks with fighters.

Attack with ground support, this base is quite simple and there will be no problems.

After clearing the 3rd base, occupy new minerals and transfer workers. Immediately build 2 gazilki so that they automatically start working.

4 base: This is where the problems start. Focus battles/tanks/vikings/banshees. Constantly bring reinforcements.
Don’t miss the last Zerg DNA at the barracks.

When Odin destroys the spaceports, you can divert your attention and turn into an alley with Loki’s hidden cruiser.

Oddly enough, it’s easier to kill him with infantry support with a stimpack than with just a lot of fighters.

After attacking the 4th base, an impressive amount of troops will come to you, so return with mirages and fight back. Build everything you can, because the last attack is waiting for you ahead. You can not react to an enemy attack on the 2nd base, because. you don’t need new resources.

First, join the battle with the air, and then with the infantry, you can also send all the CCMs to repair Odin, most importantly, do not forget to leave resources for repair.

Despite the fact that the top base was killed, all achievements were completed.

Corner of Bronze (tips for those who can’t complete the mission even with the guide):

  • Complete 1 achievement on Fighter difficulty.
  • Complete 2 Achievements on Veteran difficulty.
  • On the expert, the only difference is that you won’t need to kill Loki, and therefore there will be more troops by the last attack, but otherwise everything is the same.

Furios Paul speedrunner:

Normal 0 false false false RU X-NONE X-NONE

The main objective of is to hold out until the evacuation.
Bonus Objective : Rescue friendly troops
Achievements :

Not one step back (Complete the mission without losing or dismantling any buildings),

The best defense is… (Destroy 4 enemy incubators on Veteran difficulty)
