Star Wars — Knights of the old Republic (KOTOR) war einer der ganz großen Abräumer des Jahres 2003. So versteht sich von selbst dass an die Fortsetzung dieses gelungenen SF-RPGs sehr hohe Erwartungen gestellt würden.Obsidian waren sich dessen wohl bewusst denn Spielprinzip und Engine wurden fast 1:1 vom Vorgänger übernommen (lediglich ein paar Neuerungen welche sich jedoch positiv darstellen) — somit leider auch die grafischen Probleme welche phasenweise zwar durchaus nervig sind jedoch nicht stark genug ins Gewicht fallen als dass sie dieses phantastische Spielprinzip die tiefgründige Story oder die sehr gute Synchronisation überschatten könnten.
Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords basiert wieder auf dem D20 System welches eine rundenbasierende Berechnung eines Kampfes beinhaltet und dem Spieler so ermöglicht mehrere Befehle zu speichern was in Kombination mit der Pause-Taste keine Hektik aufkommen lässt die Kämpfe jedoch immer noch sehr spannend darstellt.Der Spieler schlüpft fünf Jahre nach den Ereignissen des ersten Teils in die Rolle eines gefallenen Jedi welcher ins Exil verbannt wurde. Schnell stellt der Spieler fest dass durch die Auseinandersetzungen zwischen Republik und Sith und jene zwischen Revan und Malak die helle Seite der Macht stark geschwächt wurde. Welch Ironie dass es gerade zur Aufgabe eines gefallenen Jedi werden soll die letzten Fragmente wieder zu einen…Gut ausgearbeitete Charaktere lange Dialoge mit vielen Gesprächsoptionen der Weg zum Jedi-Meister starker Storybezug zum ersten Teil und nicht zuletzt eine Story welche Schlachten zwischenmenschliches Intrigen und weit mehr zu bieten hat ergeben zusammen ein Spiel welches den ersten Teil zumindest würdig fortsetzt.
