Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered’s story is divided into three Acts, with many missions between them. Please note that while this guide will refrain from spoilers whenever possible, certain events need to be documented, so please proceed at your own risk.

There’s still plenty to sink your teeth into though, with a meaty main story just the start of things you can do around Manhattan. We won’t hold your hand through everything, then. How does Spider-Man’s mission structure work?

Spider-Man’s structure is nice and simple, really: it’s an open world, which opens up to you pretty early on, and there’s a pretty linear series of Main Missions for you to follow as and when you wish.

Most of the time, as soon as one Main Mission finishes, another yellow waypoint will immediately pop up for the next. Occasionally however, the next mission won’t trigger right away. In that case you need to do one or two things around the city, to give the illusion of passing time, before the next Main Mission pops up.

Pretty much anything counts — even just taking pictures of Landmarks — and you’ll know when you have to do it when Spidey says something along the lines of «Man, I’ve really been neglecting the city, better go see if anyone needs me», which is quite sweet.

Otherwise, there are a handful of Side Missions — we counted ten in total — that gradually pop up as you progress through the story. There’ll only be one or two available early on, but keep chipping away at main story missions if you want to do more sidequesting, and you’ll get a notification pop up when more become available.

You can take on these, or indeed any of the other activities around the city that we listed in our «Other Spider-Man guide pages» section just above, at any time — even after the end of the story — so there’s no rush.

Basically, play Spider-Man however you like, whether that’s charging through the entire story in one go or clearing out every icon on the map before you even get properly started. The choice is yours!

Spider-Man Game — General Information

Marvel’s Spider-Man is a Play Station 4 exclusive, which will greatly upset PC users. The first video game based on modern Avengers (Avengers).

Sony does not skimp on such projects, so gamers are presented with an AAA project with an open world and references to the original comics.

The game Spider Man 2018, the passage of which will take about 30-40 hours, will give gamers a lot of unforgettable emotions and nostalgic moments. The developers returned to the idea of an open world, recreating modern New York. The gameplay is conditionally divided into:

Combat system

Combat is the element where the developers hit the bull’s-eye. There are combinations of blows and spectacular acrobatics here. The system does not force the gamer to memorize 10-15 buttons, but comes from a completely different angle. The fact that the combat system was made with an eye on Batman Arkham is no secret. The ease with which Spiderman swings his fists is reminiscent of the mechanics of the Japanese fighting game Dead or Alive, where instead of dodging, a counter-attack is used. nine0003

The use of the web in combat has reached a new level. The spider is able to throw surrounding objects (realistic destructibility) at bad guys and take weapons from bandits. Receptions open as you progress, where experience points are given for each completed task. After collecting the required number of points, the level rises.

Help! If you regularly complete side quests, the maximum level is reached long before the end of the story.

The second currency is tokens. They are earned by completing side quests. Separate tokens are used for each quest line. With their help, you can buy costumes, each of which has unique abilities. The design is a solid reference to Spider-Man from other dimensions: noir, 2099, the ultimate Spider-Man, retro comic, Stark costume, etc.

City

Manhattan in Spider-Man 2018 is recreated to the smallest detail. The metropolis is divided into 9 districts. There is always something to do in the city, for example:

Destroy bandit outposts.
Activate towers that reveal part of the map.
Perform random events to save citizens.
Ride the web, which is realized so realistic that every gamer enjoys it.
Complete side missions: Black Cat riddles, Brigadier’s errands, etc.

Playing through Spiderman gives the impression that the people from Ubisoft had a hand in the game. The story is divided into three acts. Spider-Man 2018 lacks a dynamic day/night cycle. The time of day is dictated by the story.

At the beginning of the journey, the player is introduced to the basic mechanics and immediately put into battle. I am glad that the scriptwriters came from a different angle. The story is about Peter Parker, who is 8 years old as a superhero. He works as an assistant to Dr. Otto Octavius. Players will not see another Uncle Ben killing moralizing about great power.

Meeting with Kingpin

Walkthrough of the game Spider-Man 2018 begins with a fight between Wilson Fisk and his thugs. For residents of the post-Soviet space, this character is known under the name Ambal, which was used in the 1994 animated series. The fight with him takes place in three stages.

Fisk’s specialty is strong damage, so it’s better to dodge his attacks.

If the gamer does the right thing, Wilson will soon be behind bars.

Mysteries of Otto Octavius

After finishing the fight with Fisk, the main character finds himself in Otto Octavius’ laboratory. The developers present a mini-game where you need to connect the lines to each other so that they reach the yellow cell. Initial suspicions

Dr. Octavius discovered Peter’s Spiderman suit, but Parker managed to lie that he was helping Spider-Man. In the laboratory, the player will be introduced to the costume upgrade system. nine0003

Upgrading unlocks new abilities, such as Combat Focus, which allows you to quickly regenerate energy in combat.

Fisk’s Stash

Parker creates a new gadget, the Shock Web. With its help, the player will be able to stun opponents or push bandits against the wall. A new type of quest «Fisk’s Refuge» opens, where you need to defeat six waves of enemies. If additional conditions are met, the gamer will receive bonus tokens.

Help for the homeless

Before the start of the mission, the player will have to take pictures of landmarks — another secondary task. For photographs of attractions, the player is awarded tokens.

Peter helps Aunt May work for P.I.R., an organization for the protection of the homeless. Everyone is celebrating Aunt May’s birthday.

Stealth

Spider-Man 2018 has a stealth mission where the player will be given control of Parker’s lover, Mary Jane.

The task takes place in the museum, where you need to solve the puzzle with the statue. After solving the puzzle, the player will once again take control of Spider-Man, who will fight a new kind of enemy — Demons. They hit hard, but they swing for a very long time. Fight with Shocker

Shocker is a dangerous opponent that attacks with a beam of explosive energy that emanates from his hands. The fight takes place in three phases.

Tangled Ball

First of all, you need to neutralize all the snipers. Otherwise, they will quickly kill the Spider. Further exploration of the location will reveal a police officer’s partner and a demon hideout.

Eviction and a new quest

Martin Li

The third big boss is Mr. Negative Martin Li. With the help of his abilities, the villain is able to create distorted worlds. Finding the enemy will not be difficult, because he looks like a walking shadow.

Breakthrough

Dr. Octavius is working on mechanical arms. Parker as his assistant should help.

Quarantine
