Set across three defining eras from 20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog video game history, the instantly recognizable environments of Sonic Generations have been re-built in stunning HD and are now playable in both classic side scrolling 2D from 1991, as well as modern 3D style found in Sonic’s most recent adventures. Each incarnation of Sonic in Sonic Generations comes complete with his trademark special move, Spin Dash and Spin Attack for Classic Sonic, and the Homing Attack and Sonic Boost for Modern Sonic. An innovative new interactive menu system allows for complete immersion in Sonic’s universe with favorite characters and hidden treasures gradually being revealed throughout the game.

I got this during my birthday week and man is it one of the best 3D Sonic games in a long time.
Sonic had some ups and downs going 3D but with Generations it’s just incredible. When you finished the stage and get that satisfying S rank, the boss battles are challenging yet fun, and the soundtrack of course is still freaking awesome. The idea to have Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic for the game works well. The story is pretty simple yet entertaining. I’d enjoy Sonic Generations and it will remain my favorite Sonic game ever.

I bought this game for my children. They are five and six. I owned a Sega genisis way back when. It brought back memories of when I was a kid. We are all able to veg out and kill that nonsense on how kids can’t connect with adults.

I remember getting this and spending countless hours bobbing my head to remixes, destroying robots, and collecting all the hidden goodies. This is a must buy for all Sonic fans, and even if you’re not a Sonic fan I can still recommend this awesome game.

This has been the best sonic game for a long time. it has awesome gameplay.
i really love playing as modern sonics speedy stages, and classic sonics platforming stages. This is a GREAT game to any sonic fan, while the story is short, there are extra goodies to. (like red star rings to collect for music and artwork) i really recommend this game to any sonic fan

No, i remember there being a trailer where classic and modern sonic were racing in some stage with red rails.
It was 3d i recall.
Unless i’m insane or something, it seems like this feature was cancelled during development.

I got Sonic Generations for the 3DS for Xmas. I played the first level, and I honestly didn’t like it. I was bored of playing Mario Kart for hours so I decided to play this a little more and I fell in love. The levels were fun and difficult, with many enemies to defeat. The bosses were all very creative and challenging at first, but once you learn their secrets, it gets a little easier.
The sound was amazing, along with the graphics. I had one problem. The game was shorter than expected. It consisted of around 10 or so levels. They were all very fun, but I wish there was more. If you play for 2-3 days for a couple hours, you could beat it. I 100% recommend this game!

To be completely honest, this was my first Sonic game. I bought it because it looked pretty good, and i wanted another game for my 3DS. After playing it, i found it to be much more fun than i had expected. I expected the plot of the game to not really have one, just a bunch of old Sonic levels redone. Though the plot was hard to follow at the beginning, though it made good and entertaining sense later in the game. The actual gameplay was fun, though some of the time, i just found myself holding down the right direction.
After the dull moments passed, the game was full of enemies, pit-fall traps, and challenges that required quick refelxes, which is what made the game really fun. All the boss battles were fun and quick paced, especially the final two. By around the end of the game, both modern and classic sonic seemed to be nearly identical; after classic acquired boost and homing attack, the two seemed too similar. Overall, though, the game in its entirety was a fun and exhilerating game.

This game is awesome.It has a ton of features I can’t even describe in 5 paragraphs!First I would like to tell u that don’t be fooled by the bad reviews.In fact, this Sonic game is so great it’s better than ANY Sonic game on ANY system.
First feature is that since this is Sonic’s birthday, you get to share how much you’ve been his fan, your favorite sonic game of all time, and your favorite character from the Sonic series.The levels are really fun, either with classic Sonic or modern Sonic.If you want an extreme 3d level display this is what you want.It shows the best 3d for the 3ds.Besides the display, the gameplay is great.You get to do homing attacks, boosts, the good al spin dash or spin roll, and jumping on enimies the old way.The 3ds exclusive features feature multiplayer mode, whether online of multi-game cards, or use the streetpass feature to unlock new missions.Overall, it’s Sonic’s best birthday celebration in 3d!!!!!!
