Bestmöglicher Prozessor für Sockel 1150 als Ersatz für i5-4690S
Hallo,
Was könnte ich machen?

zB 16GB G.Skill SniperX Urban Camouflage DDR4-3600 DIMM CL19 Dual Kit — DDR4-3600 | Mindfactory.de

Ryzen 5 Pro 2400 G in Frage.

TE hat wohl ein H97M-Plus also sollte Broadwell ohne OC laufen — aber trotzdem wäre mal interessant was man überhaupt machen will.

Features of processors for the 1150th socket
A socket is a socket, a seat for a processor on a motherboard. Considering that 1150 (aka h4) was announced back in 2013, far from the standards of the computer industry, the situation of selecting a processor for this socket is most likely the need to purchase a new computing core in an existing computer with a good motherboard to replace the old or simply released out of service. In this case, it is physically impossible to put a processor designed for a different socket into the computer.
Best processor for 1150 socket
Sockets change with the improvement of processor lines. LGA 1150 is designed for processor cores with microarchitecture Haswell and Broadwell, which belong to the fourth generation in the Intel classification. Despite the difference in connectors and contact pads, the mounting holes on processors of adjacent series, such as 1151 or 1155, are identical, which allows you to use the same cooling systems if they are of high quality and you don’t want to part with them.
In 2015, devices designed for the new socket 1151 and made on a more advanced microarchitecture were released. Old processors continue to be used in previously purchased desktops. If at one time the computer was assembled with a “reserve” of computing power, then today h4 processors can be used quite productively, especially if the computer is used for standard user multimedia tasks, and only secondarily for processing graphic information like games or video editing .

Top 1150 socket processors with Haswell
microarchitecture
The Haswell kernel was released in 2013. Given the considerable age of this technological solution, processors of this generation can be taken quite cheaply — both new in the box, and there are still some, including in the BOX version. If you find an OEM, it will be even better, since the stock cooler is very mediocre. Well, the purchase of a used “stone” that has worked for 3-5 years is more than justified: perhaps the younger rulers can be picked up for pickup.
6. Intel Celeron G1840 Haswell
One of the two variants of the line, which can still be found in the package or bag, has a higher clock frequency by 0.1 GHz. Two cores of 2.8 GHz each do an excellent job with a basic set of user tasks. The strength of the processor is its low power consumption and complete temperature stability — due to the weak configuration, it is almost impossible to «burn» it. In older systems, it is the place to be, having a penny price.
Intel Celeron G1840 Haswell
Options:
- number of physical computing cores: 2;
- frequency, GHz: 2.8;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 0.5/2;
- thermal package: 53 W.
Pros
- almost always cold;
- low power consumption;
- good stability;
- low price.
Cons
- poor performance.
Processor Intel Celeron G1840 Haswell
5. Intel Pentium G3260 Haswell
A very simple processor without bells and whistles, but consistently cold. It differs from its fellow Celeron by a higher clock speed, an unlocked multiplier, and also a third-level cache memory that has grown by a third. At the same time, neither the power consumption nor the heat dissipation of the Pentium are the same, which is clearly worth the little money for which it is being sold today. The built-in video core will allow you to save some time on the video card. Videos in 4K quality are played without lags.

Options :
- number of physical computing cores: 2;
- frequency, GHz: 3.3;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 0.5/3;
- thermal package: 53 W.
Pros
- stable operation;
- low heat;
- is a good graphics core.
Disadvantages
- Today there is already a delay in processing time.

4. Intel Core i3-4170 Haswell
Even the younger line of the Core i family was eagerly taken by users for games. True, games have changed since then, and today the processor will pull the same thing that it pulled in 2014. Modern games will go only at low settings and in a company with a sane discrete graphics card. At the start of sales, users complained about the high price of this solution, but today this claim has been successfully resolved due to the statute of limitations.
Intel Core i3-4170 Haswell
Options:
- number of physical computing cores: 2;
- frequency, GHz: 3.7;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 0.5/3;
- thermal package: 54 W.
Pros
- cold running at higher frequency;
- stable operation even under high load;
- low price over time.
Cons
- Weak integrated graphics core.
Processor Intel Core i3-4170 Haswell
3. Intel Core i5-4690 Haswell
Core i5 consistently have the highest sales, which is due to their superiority over the average and reasonable price. Many users put such processors in entry-level gaming PCs, and it still copes. The top model i5 will cost no more than the younger i7, and in games the advantage is not in the number of physical cores, but in clock speed. A plus may also be a good graphics core, which up to a certain point will not require a discrete video card at all.
Intel Core i5-4690 Haswell
Options:
- number of physical computing cores: 4;
- frequency, GHz: 3.5;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 1/6;
- thermal package: 84 W.
Pros
- good graphics core;
- normal multitasking;
- good performance in games.
Cons
- noticeably warms up.
Processor Intel Core i5-4690 Haswell
2. Intel Core i7-4790 Haswell
User Experience Leader from Intel. Moderately cold, powerful. Pleased with the presence of a large amount of cache — it has grown at the first and third levels. The stability of the work is confirmed by users — even at peak loads, the processor does not throttle and does not miss artifacts on high-quality video. The weak point of the i7 remains the price — after all, the processor is so good that even years later the price of a new device with a better clock speed has fallen slightly. And the owners are in no hurry to sell the old i7, as there is still enough power.
Intel Core i7-4790 Haswell
Options:
- number of physical computing cores: 4;
- frequency, GHz: 3.6/4;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 1/8;
- thermal package: 84 W.
Pros
- high computing power;
- continues to successfully run games with a normal video card;
- has the possibility of regular overclocking.
Cons
- high price.

1. Intel Xeon E3-1285V3 Haswell
It is indicative that the advertised i7 took the first place, and the server Xeon. The most active buyers of this CPU were not system engineers, but gamers. Having characteristics at the level of i7, Xeon turned out to be significantly cheaper due to the lack of a graphics core, and now the price on the secondary market has completely fallen, since server options are not sold very briskly. For lovers of impressive gaming, the presence of integrated graphics was a burden, because a powerful discrete device with its own memory was intended for these purposes. Therefore, its absence, as well as the impressive performance of the turbo boost at a fixed multiplier, played a decisive role.

Options:
- number of physical computing cores: 4;
- frequency, GHz: 3. 6;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 1/8;
- thermal package: 84 W.
Pros
- almost complete copy of i7;
- no graphics core — the price is cheaper;
- good acceleration with turbo boost.
Cons
- difficult to sell on the secondary market.

Best Devil’s Canyon Socket 1150 Processors
The development team of the leading processor manufacturer was preparing the release of a new generation of Broadwell only in 2015. Marketers decided that the cessation of the release of the updated series could negatively affect the company’s reputation. This is how Devil`s Canyon processors appeared — globally the same Haswell, but with an increased clock frequency, an unlocked multiplier and a slightly different distribution of heat packs.
2. Intel Core i5-4690K Devil’s Canyon
Despite a small number of changes compared to the classic Broadwell line, the Core i5 series «devil’s canyon» sold out quite willingly. Moreover, the desire for overclocking was far from in the first place: some users were in no hurry to use the potential to the fullest, since even the standard power was enough to solve most tasks, because the built-in graphics core is practically not used in games. Practice has shown that with the allegedly reduced heat production, not everything is so smooth, but this had almost no effect on sales.
Intel Core i5-4690K Devil’s Canyon
Options:
- number of physical computing cores: 4;
- frequency, GHz: 3.5 / 3.9;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 1/6;
- thermal package: 88 W.
Pros
- stable operation without overclocking;
- unlocked multiplier;
- is a good supply of computing power.
Cons
- opening showed the presence of thermal paste under the cover.
Intel Core i5-4690K Devil’s Canyon
1. Intel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon
The older model in a slightly updated line at some point revived interest in Intel processors until the release of the next generation on a thinner process technology. The potential of the processor is very good, users overclocked it to almost 5 GHz. But there is one thing here: in order to carry out such an operation, you need to stock up on top-end cooling (preferably water), as well as being forced to “scalp” the processor (as users call the removal of the top cover and the thermally conductive polymer paste under it). The company’s motives are quite understandable: it needs only the processors intended for this to “chase”, and only up to a certain limit, otherwise it will not be possible to loudly announce the new product.

Options:
- number of physical computing cores: 4;
- frequency, GHz: 4/4.4;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 1/8;
- thermal package: 88 W.
Pros
- good overclocking potential;
- impressive performance;
- high clock speed.
Cons
- It is difficult to realize effective cooling.

Best Socket 1150 Processors on Broadwell
The long-awaited release of Broadwell has become quite controversial in the history of Intel processors. The changes were not so significant, and marketers considered it inappropriate to release junior lines like Celeron on the new 14-nanometer process technology, because the main advantage of the new series — lower power consumption and heat dissipation — is not sharp with the budget CPU category. The release on the Broadwell core touched on those devices that consistently bring Intel the most significant income: i5 and i7.
2. Intel Core i5-5675C Broadwell
Many users switched to this processor not from Haswell, but from earlier Ivy or Sandy Bridge, and could not help but note the very low heating in operation compared to previous series. A normal fan generally contributes to the operation of the «stone» at a temperature close to room temperature. At the same time, computing power, although it did not become a breakthrough, moved forward a little. Speed also affected thanks to the unique cache of the 4th level.
Intel Core i5-5675C Broadwell
Options:
- number of physical computing cores: 4;
- frequency, GHz: 3.1;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 1/4;
- thermal package: 65 W.
Pros
- moderate temperature while maintaining power;
- is a good graphics core;
- Level 4 cache.
Cons
- multiplier is locked.
Intel Core i5-5675C Broadwell processor
1. Intel Core i7-5775C Broadwell
In the new i7, manufacturers did not set records, looking with an eye on the next generations already in development. As a result, low sales and an almost complete lack of interest among buyers, although the processor itself is quite interesting. With a slightly reduced clock frequency compared to the previous Haswell, it began to heat up much less, regardless of which heat conductor is located under the cover. The processor has a fairly stable potential as a working system and as an assistant to a graphic designer, not to mention gamers, although it will not work today to seriously use the integrated graphics of this “stone” for games.
Intel Core i7-5775C Broadwell
Options:
- number of physical computing cores: 4;
- frequency, GHz: 3.3;
- 2nd/3rd level cache, Mb: 1/6;
- thermal package: 65 W.
Pros
- little heat for a full-fledged quad-core;
- good graphics;
- thin process technology.
Cons
- high price.

Processor selection for socket LGA 1150
The fact that the socket is already there greatly simplifies the choice, because it narrows it down. The user does not have to choose between the titans of the industry Intel and AMD, and the variety of processors is limited by the seat standard. But even in this case, the range is very large, so the user must be well aware of the tasks for which he will use the computer in order to select the optimal parameters for solving his problems.
Video0 — Which processor 1150 to choose
Processor line
Intel has been releasing several lines of processors for quite a long time. They may differ in their characteristics, but are combined into conditional classes according to their purpose:
- Celeron. Budget computing cores designed for installation in systems of the lowest price level, for example, office or simple home. Celeron processors are usually obtained by purposefully weakening older models, which makes them as cheap as possible for the end user. Suitable for surfing the Internet and working with documents.
Celeron processor
- Pentium. Once upon a time, the processors of this family made Intel a big name and brought it to the world leaders in the production of CPUs. Today, Pentiums are no longer the most powerful solution — there are better options. In terms of their power, they occupy an intermediate position between frankly budget and weak Celerons and older lines. Among the Pentiums, you can find very worthy solutions that will even run games three or four years ago, especially if you have a good video card.
Pentium
processor
- Core i3. This is the youngest line of computing devices that have two computing cores and work on hyper-trading technology, that is, the creation of virtual threads. Thus, with two physical cores, the user has four threads at his disposal. A good average indicator of a universal nature for most household tasks.
Core i3 processor
- Core i5. This line was originally introduced by Intel as mid-priced solutions that will satisfy users who want more power, but do not have enough money to buy top versions. These processors have either 2 hyperthreaded cores or 4 physical cores with the same number of threads. Without exception, all models are equipped with TurboBoost technology, which actually automatically overclocks the processor, increasing the nominal clock frequency multiplier, if there are no contraindications to this.
Core i5 processor
- Core i7. The most powerful CPU, positioned as a user for individual work. They almost always have at least 8 computational threads, but there can be half as many physical cores. The most powerful systems have 8 real cores. Turbo boost is available in all i7 models. This processor is often used by professionals for work, it is also a favorite line of gamers. But it will also have to be spent on the acquisition, respectively.
Core i7 processor
- Xeon. These processors were originally positioned as server processors. Great processing power is combined with additional improvements that increase stability and minimize the number of possible errors. These models can work in multiprocessor systems, however, with a little technical literacy, they can also be used as solutions for personal computers. However, the profit from this solution is pretty exaggerated if the computer is supposed to be used for games.

- power consumption and heat dissipation — TDP, or Thermal Design Power, is responsible for them. For a certain indicator, you need your own cooler, on the cooler it should be equal to the processor or, if possible, higher.
All other indicators — the presence of an integrated video card, an unlocked multiplier for overclocking, the number of cores — are situational.

The processor based on the Haswell microarchitecture has been improved both in frequency and from a physical point of view. The latest polymer thermal interface provides a faster heat dissipation rate, which guarantees more potential not only for overclocking, but also for saving on the cooling system.
The power supply circuitry has also been updated, but it still runs on the 22nm process. An increase in frequencies during overclocking is possible up to 4.6 GHz, while cooling in the form of a classic cooler is allowed.
The model also wins in performance due to higher response rates, performance in games until 2018 release, the possibility of manual optimization of parameters, which significantly affects performance.
The price of the model is also quite reasonable, so when building a desktop PC, this processor can be suitable for a medium power system.

Intel Core i7 4770
A new round in the evolution of processors based on the Haswell architecture. Performed well at
office and educational computers, gives good performance in the computing part.
The increase in speed compared to previous generations is not too noticeable. For overclocking locked, power requirements for home options may be specific.
The graphic component here is excellent, playability in many games is at an excellent level, but only for projects before 2018, later games are more demanding.
In some memory operations, it may be somewhat slower than older «brothers». The TDP has also increased, demanding on the cooler.
Specifications:
- Playable: yes;
- Cores: 2;
- Graphics core: HD Graphics 4400, 1150 MHz;
- Clock frequency: 3500 MHz;
- Memory: DDR3, DDR3L 1333/1600 MHz, 32 GB.
Pros
- good graphics core;
- potential for overclocking;
- performance.
Cons
- gets hot.
Intel Core i3-4360 Haswell
The main feature is an increased initial clock frequency, four
computing threads with two cores and the presence of hyper-threading. The multiplier is locked, but with the help of the bus it accelerates to 4.0 GHz.
The integrated graphics core supports most of the technologies of its time. You can’t count on high frame rates in games, but still it will show itself well even in serious demanding game projects until 2018 release.
Easily competes in performance with the older Core i5-4570 and competitor AMD A10-7850K.
Very good in synthetic tests, and does not slow down in everyday tasks. Multithreading will allow you to work with graphics and video without much stress.
Specifications:
- Gaming: yes;
- Cores: 2;
- Graphics core: HD Graphics 4600, 1150 MHz;
- Clock frequency: 3700 MHz;
- Memory: DDR3-1333/1600, DDR3L-1333/1600 MHz, 32 GB.
Pros
- hyperthreading;
- performance;
- overclocking on the bus.
Cons
- multiplier is locked.
Intel Core i3-4170T Haswell
Powered by Haswell microarchitecture and 22 nm process technology. The base clock speed here is quite good, but the
model is not suitable for overclocking — there is neither a turbo mode nor an unlocked multiplier.
An excellent choice for general purpose applications such as office systems, work computers or home PCs that are not demanding on games.
In gaming performance, it shows itself to be average — it will cope well with old games, but serious difficulties can arise with the latest projects, up to incompatibility.
There is no multithreading, so when working with graphics and video, you should not expect supernatural speed either, despite a good graphics core.
Specifications:
- Playable: yes;
- Cores: 2;
- Graphics core: HD Graphics 4400, 1150 MHz;
- Clock frequency: 3200 MHz;
- Memory: DDR3, DDR3L 1333/1600 MHz, 32 GB.
Pros
- everyday performance;
- cost;
- low heat;
- energy efficiency.
Cons
- new generation games are not for him;
- no multithreading.
TOP 3 best gaming processors for socket 1150
Intel Core i5-4670 Haswell
for digital content processing. Powered by Haswell core, manufacturing process is 22 nm.
The core provides many advantages over the third generation even while maintaining the same clock speeds. However, there is no fundamental increase in performance in tests, the updated processor is only slightly faster than the third generation.
Gaming performance is average here — the processor can easily handle games up to 2016-2017, but with newer projects it copes noticeably worse. Low performance here is also due to not the best graphics core.
The lack of hyper-threading technology has a huge impact on performance in the latest games. However, a significant advantage due to the new architecture is extremely low heat dissipation and power consumption — a medium-power air cooler will be enough for cooling.
The weak point of the architecture was overclocking.

Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell
4th generation processor optimal for office systems and home desktops, good
shows itself when using undemanding digital content processing applications.
Powered by Haswell microarchitecture, 22nm process technology. The core provides many advantages over the third generation, even while maintaining similar clock speeds.
However, there is no fundamental increase in performance in tests, the updated processor is only slightly faster than the third generation.
Gaming performance is average here — the processor can handle games up to 2016-2017 without any problems, but with newer projects it works much worse. Low gaming performance here is also associated with an unoptimized graphics core. The lack of Hyper-Threading technology greatly affects the performance of the latest games.
However, a significant advantage of the new architecture is extremely low heat dissipation and power consumption — a medium-sized air cooler will be enough for cooling. The weak point of the new microarchitecture is overclocking.

- Cores: 4;
- Graphics core: HD Graphics 4600, 1200 MHz;
- Clock frequency: 3400 MHz;
- Memory: DDR3, DDR3L 2666 MHz, 32 GB.
Pros
- good overall performance;
- low heat;

Intel Core i7-4790 Haswell
0003
The updated chipset didn’t bring a revolutionary breakthrough to the market, but allowed to get a small increase in performance
due to the increase in operating clock frequencies. It is the latest model that differs from its predecessors, otherwise there are practically no differences.
A good thermal interface, despite the locked multiplier, improves heat dissipation. Has a good base clock speed, which increases to 4.4 GHz in Turbo mode, while heat dissipation does not increase much. Does not require serious cooling systems.
In games, the performance is not top-notch, but in general it is quite good due to the technical characteristics and the presence of a good graphics core in the kit.
Specifications:
- Gaming: yes;
- Cores: 4;
- Graphics core: HD Graphics 4600, 1200 MHz;
- Clock frequency: 3600 MHz;
- Memory: DDR3, DDR3L 2666 MHz, 32 GB.
Pros
- good graphics card;
- low heat;
- energy efficiency;
- excellent base frequencies.
Cons
- cost.
