Please make a bug fix update

This is a very good mobile Amusement Park game, I think it’s the best on the App Store currently. It has many rides and coasters, and it also has many terrain and path options. I mainly play sandbox mode, but there is also a pretty good career mode where you complete objectives to make the parks profitable. The main problem with RCT3 is that is hasn’t had an update for years. This means the rollercoasters and rides aren’t up to date with the new ones coming out, and there are a few minor bugs that don’t cause many issues for me. There is one main problem that is really annoying though, which is that when you have a saved sandbox mode park, and you want to create a new park, (frame rate tends to slow down a lot when you have more than 10-13 big roller coasters and then the the game starts saying the park is full and it stops you from adding any more rides or shops) the old one gets replaced. You can create a new park, and not delete the old one, and when you go back into the save menu, your new park duplicates it self over the old one. This means you can’t keep adding onto your parks and have to fully replace them every once in a while. It’s super annoying and is a bad glitch that happens on all the devices I’ve tried to play this on. I still really like the game, but PLEASE FIX THIS BUG!!!

TLDR: Best coaster game on the AppStore, but needs a bug fix so that old sandbox mode parks don’t delete themselves after creating a new park.

Park Full notifications

Great game but I haven’t been able to do anything in sandbox mode for my save due to this Building has been disabled notification that is constantly popping up and not allowing for any further customization and or building. Idk how to solve this issue and very little or almost nothing online about it. I didn’t think this game would be limited as so. As of now, the game has been ruined as there is no fix for this and I can’t figure out the cause to it. Closing out the application doesn’t resolve the issue nor does letting real time pass. I also don’t know why the additional add ons from the game aren’t available as in game purchases? 6 going on 7 years later. Would be nice to have a complete edition. (The Switch console just recently got one) But being able to build freely to your hearts content would also be nice. I Haven’t been able to for a long time now! Would be nice if the devs can offer some fix or explanation to this bug.

The Best Phone Game So Far!

I’ve had an iPhone since before the App Store was available, and I can finally say the quality of games has reached the PC quality mark. The dev of this game is the original developer, not Atari. It runs silky smooth even when moving your head around to view people eating cotton candy while zooming through a loop on a roller coaster.
The controls are amazingly thought out. You can have a simple roller coaster built in 20 minutes. It’s all here — the tilt of the track, the height markers, block break speed, camera locations, tunnels, choosing how many cars per train, track color, path design- wait time for the cars, price of the ride, and fixing and repairing the ride. If I left something out, trust me, it’s in the game.
The career mode is the full 20+ stages, and there is a sandbox mode as well. You control the price of each ride, each booth, or the entrance fee to your park. You control the cost of ketchup and when to train or fire your employees. Each guest has unique thoughts and desires so be sure to talk to each of them as well.
Simply put, unbelievable game. It plays excellent on the iPhone 6 and even better on the iPad’s screen. A complete steal at $4.99. This has made me re-think phone games.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Update

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3

Every time I see RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, I’m overwhelmed with good feelings, the need to eat cotton candy, and an intense desire to giggle like a schoolgirl. There was certainly something special about the first game that will always stick with me. The fact that RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 didn’t sit well with me doesn’t seem to be a barrier to my lusting after the third iteration of the series. I got the chance to sit down and see RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 yesterday and all of my dreams of creating the perfect theme park came flooding back.
There are a lot of features that this third game—due out on November 2nd—will be adding to the series that have been asked after since the beginning. Fortunately for all of you, I’ve already written about most of them in a previous preview that you can read, digest, and enjoy. Yesterday’s meeting was a more informal look just to give us a chance to see how everything is progressing along with our first look at a couple of features in action.

But before delving into any of that, let’s take a moment to admire the visuals. After my disappointment with RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, a lot had to be done to fix my damaged soul. The first and biggest bandage was a brilliant 3D engine. Every time I see this thing, I simply have to smile. Smiling isn’t something that comes easy for me. Most times when I try to smile, I actually frown… so you can imagine my delight. Colorful, playful, crisp, and detailed. The beautiful rendering of the environments mixes terrifically with the cartoony nature of the peeps visiting the park. Everything has been optimized even more at this point (although there’s still some work to be done) so the game was running very smoothly at high details on a laptop. Granted, the laptop had some good hardware in it, but even gamers without top of the line machines should run this without much problem.

While I had seen screens and movies of the game at night, this was the first time I actually had the chance to see this feature working. The real-time lighting makes the park come alive at night. Shadows cast across everything, rides light up, torches flicker… it’s a new vision that will add a ton more customization for those that want to get really creative with their park design. Seeing the movies is one thing, seeing it in motion is another. I’m impressed.

We showed you a bit on the fireworks a while back, which were also demonstrated. Fireworks shows are set up in what looks like a Adobe Premiere type of editing tool that will help coordinate the rockets themselves along with the music. These plans will be able to be exported to the web for download just as easily as custom roller coasters so that players can share all of their creations with what will most likely be as large a community as it always has been.

Another gameplay improvement disguised as a visual improvement is the interface. This marked the first time Atari had shown us the new interface and I’m happy to report that it is much more friendly and clean than its predecessor. Those that have played SimCity 4 might find some similarities in the functionality and look. It’s hard to complain too much about that since SimCity 4‘s interface was pretty slick. All of the basic information you need will pretty much be available at the top of the screen with a pull down sheet for recent event notifications. Selecting a ride or a person in the park will pop a circular window up in the bottom right corner of the screen with all of the options available for the selected item set around the screen. All of the tools for construction, building placement, landscape design, and so on will be on the left hand side of the screen. What’s clear is that they were hoping to keep the gameplay screen itself as clear as possible to enjoy the sites and sounds of the park.

Keeping the interface out of the main view is only part of the fun of helping players control the game better. As you may know, moving a title that has traditionally been in 2D to full 3D creates complications of its own. Those unused to dealing with three dimensions will have the option to switch the camera into a classic view, should they become at all confused by the fully 3D free camera.

Coaster construction also works in a very similar fashion. Actually, it’s similar enough to almost be identical, aside for some interface differences. The same functionality will be available, however, with the same kinds of pieces and angles that players of the classic game will be used to. In fact, it’s similar enough that coasters built using RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 can be imported into RollerCoaster Tycoon 3! Now classic players will be able to ride their old coasters as they always wanted to thanks to the 3D engine.

One of the ways that RCT3 will be different from the first two is in the way the scenarios are handled. While many of the scenarios seem to have some of the same outward challenges (park rating, cash flow, creating coasters with certain aspects, etc…), they’ll be handled a bit differently. Instead of all the scenarios being broken up into three categories, all of which were unlocked, scenarios will now be seen as a long chain. At the beginning of the game, six scenarios will be unlocked. As objectives are completed, more scenarios and features will be unlocked for players. Each scenario will also have three different difficulty marks that will challenge players to complete more difficult objectives in the same park. Completing the apprentice mode will unlock the new scenarios. Players can also create their own scenarios with multiple objectives for each difficulty using the editor that comes with the product.

If players aren’t interested in being constrained by the scenario design, they’ll also have the sandbox mode to play in. This will allow players to come into a one of the scenarios without any money, time, or objective constraints, or play on a completely blank slate to create the ultimate theme park. Those that want only to create coasters will have the coaster editor while players looking to build attractive buildings using set pieces (these buildings can be huge and complex) can do so.

On a more personal level, Atari also showed off more of their peeps and what can be done with them. Players will be able to create customized families, with individual personalities and looks, who can be followed around the park at any time. You can even get these families together to take pictures which will be saved as a .jpg that can be viewed later. Where families take pictures can be influenced by creating a photo spot, or they might even do it on their own.

Along with the regular family members and individual peeps come V.I.P. guests that will take special consideration. There are five V.I.P.s total, including an ex-President, a Japanese pop star, and a sports hero. The challenge with these individuals is that you have to provide for their safety and peace of mind. If you aren’t careful, swarms of admirers will chase after them, asking for autographs and taking pictures. Each of these V.I.P.s have different wants and tolerances, so you’ll need to accommodate them. Extra security can be hired and a path can be set up for them to visit certain points that are especially impressive. There’s nothing like a good report from a celebrity to help your park get more customers. Each of these characters will have a special look to help you distinguish them from the regular slobs.

Finally, some good news for those that can’t wait to play RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is that you’ll at least be able to bide your time with a demo that is planned for release sometime in September. Unfortunately, we don’t know the details, but I’m sure it’ll be enough to get you all drooling for the real thing.

Keep your eyes open for more details on the pages of IGNPC as the game approaches release!
