Red Dead Redemption 2 tips are helpful for all players, as those who are just starting out can get pointers on the best way to proceed, while veterans can still pick up on extra advice or secrets they may have missed during their time in the Wild West. With a massive open world to explore and a variety of systems to master, there are always new skills to pick up in Red Dead Redemption 2, along with locations and characters you may never have discovered before. Following our Red Dead Redemption 2 tips could introduce you to an approach you’d not thought of before that will make life on the plains considerably easier, so it’s definitely worth checking them out.

It’s easy to lose hundreds of hours if you want to see everything there is on offer, and even if you keep your focus on progress through the main Red Dead Redemption story you’re still going to spend a decent amount of time walking in Arthur Morgan’s boots before reaching the epilogue. Considering that time commitment, getting yourself familiar with these handy Red Dead Redemption 2 tips will help you avoid making rookie mistakes while starting out, as well as setting you up for the long journey on the dusty trail ahead.

Check out our essential Red Dead Redemption 2 tips in the video below:

1. Use Dead Eye for hunting

Morgan’s slow-mo shooting skills are especially handy when targeting smaller prey, like squirrel and fox. Dead Eye will also highlight animals vitals, and nailing a shot to the heart or neck will usually ned in an instant, clean kill if you’re using the right caliber of ammo. Take a look at our Red Dead Redemption 2 hunting tips for more advice.

2. Turn on ‘Toggle to Run’

Select this option from the main controls menu to save yourself some effort by switching to a system where you only have to tap A/X once, rather than constantly hold it down. Sprinting in Red Dead is draining enough… especially when Arthur is often lugging a dead body on his back.  We’ve got more advice for improving your game in our guide to the best Red Dead Redemption 2 settings.

3. Issue simple commands to your horse

You can make Morgan’s loyal mount follow, stay, or flee by holding down the left trigger while in close proximity of your pony pal.

4. Unlock secret moves by bonding with your steed

The more you bond with your mount the more abilities you can unlock for it. At level two bonding, your horse will rear in classic Wild West style by holding down RB/R1 and tapping X/Square. At level three, the hairy companion can perform what’s essentially a horsey handbrake turn when you press RB/R1 and A/X while moving. Once you reach the maximum level four bond, your horse will strafe from side to side if you hold down B/Square mid-gallop – an handy manoeuvre for when you’re riding through dense forest and want to quickly steer round clumps of trees.

5. Know your HUD options

You can turn off your radar and all other on-screen displays by holding down on the D-pad, then selecting ‘radar off’ for a more immersive experience. In this HUD-free mode, and quick tap of down on the D-pad will briefly bring your radar back up.

Conversely, you can also make the radar bigger by selecting ‘expand’, which is useful for spotting enemy icons during hectic shootouts. To go for the halfway house approach, select the ‘compass’ option, which will show you the general direction you should be aiming for while riding to an objective, rather than the precise fastest route the normal radar provides.

6. Learn to play poker at camp

Learn to play cards back at Dutch’s camp so you don’t risk losing your hard-earned while you’re still learning the poker ropes. The maximum bet while playing your gang pals is a measly dollar; all you can lose in these games is a few cents, but playing here is useful for teaching the poker basics before you hit the high roller tables out in the world. Handily, there’s also a complete explanation of poker rules tucked away in the help section of the pause menu.

7. Feeling lazy? Use cinematic mode

Set a waypoint and enter into cinematic mode to make your horse ride to your destination with zero input required from you… though we’d advise you don’t step away from your console. Should bounty hunters or rival gangs attack Arthur mid-journey, you’ll be swiftly booted out of cinematic mode and be expected to defend yourself.

8. Take a Wild West selfie

Select Arthur’s camera from the items wheel and you can snap gorgeous virtual shots of your surroundings that can then be uploaded to Rockstar’s Social Club. Helpfully, any photos you uploaded will also be marked with handy hashtags of where they were snapped, so #Valentine or #SaintDenis, for example.

You can even take an old timey selfie with Arthur’s camera. What a progressive outlaw he truly is.

9. Keep your cores topped up

While tonics and other potions will keep that outer ring of your Dead Eye, Health and Stamina topped up, you’re going to need to watch your cores. No, that doesn’t mean heading to the gym, but it does mean making sure that Arthur Morgan is kept well fed, watered and, um, smoked, otherwise you’re going to find yourself severely limited in how far you can run, how long you can survive and even shoot. Make sure you’re regularly opening up that satchel to give Arthur food, drink and other consumables he requires to keep his cores topped up, and if in doubt go back to your camp, or make a temporary one, to give Arthur a well-earned rest to keep him tip top.

The same with your horse. Make sure you hitch them where possible to give them a proper rest, brush them to top up their stamina, and feed them sugar lumps and other horsey delicacies to keep their health at maximum.

10. Carry plenty of tobacco

Smoking cigars, cigarettes, or even eating raw Indian tobacco will top up your Dead Eye meter. As you’re likely going to be downing lots of dudes in slow-mo, this is the core that will deplete the quickest. Snake oil can also be brewed at camps to keep your Dead Eye core topped up. Be wary of eating too much raw tobacco, though. You can only eat so many plants in an in-game 24hr period before their effect starts to wane. Resist the urge to gorge yourself on Indian tobacco for a day and they’ll go back to their full power.

11. Go to the post office to pay off bounties

It can be hard to travel across the Frontier in peace with a bounty on your head. To ensure bounty hunters and other lawmen don’t keep chasing Arthur every time he has a bounty hanging over him, visit the post office – most towns and rail stations have one – to pay off these criminal charges. Bear in mind bounties are specific to the county the crime was committed in, so that $120 bounty you acquired shooting up all those sheriff deputies in the Heartlands won’t carry over to West Elizabeth. We’ve got more details over in our Red Dead Redemption 2 Bounty and Wanted Level guide.

12. Fast travel… for a price

For the first 20 or so hours of the game, Red Dead 2 doesn’t have a traditional fast travel system. To cover large distances quickly, you’ll have to buy a train ticket and ride the rails. Tickets usually range from $5-$15 depending on the length of the journey. If you’re really itching to visit the New Orleans-esque Saint Denis hours before the story takes you there, you can actually board a train to the Deep South city from Valentine for just ten bucks.

13. Keep your horse in whistling range

Your steed doesn’t have telepathic hearing. If you whistle for it while Arthur is sauntering around the streets of Saint Denis and Horsey McHorseface is in the middle of the Heartlands, your pony pal won’t come a runnin’. Try not to wander away from your horse between missions if you can help it. It also pays to bond with your mount. The higher your horse bonding level, the further away you can whistle for it. You can also help yourself out by grabbing the Red Dead Redemption 2 best horse.

14. Store hats on your horse

Lost your fave fetching cowboy hat in a saloon fight? Fret not. You can store three hats on your horse that can be selected from your loyal chum’s saddle at any time. Even an outlaw values style and protection from that beating sun.

15. Read Arthur’s journal

Hold left on the D-pad for an abridged version of the story so far, told from Arthur’s perspective. It even fills in story gaps on Morgan’s life shortly before the game begins. Turns out, Morgan and Hosea were running cons in Blackwater and seemed pretty content, to the point they were even planning their own robbery, away from the rest of the gang. Of course, that pesky Dutch ruined everything with the botched Blackwater ferry heist he dragged them both into. Stupid Dutch.

16. Use the ledger to upgrade your camp

The ledger isn’t just to a place to spy on how much gang members have been contributing to camp life. You can also use this book to upgrade your camp’s medical, ammo, and food stalls. Upgrade these, and not only will Arthur be able to fill his pockets with more bullets and snacks before heading out on missions, but camp morale will also improve.

It’s also worth upgrading Dutch’s living quarters at the earliest opportunity. Doing so sees the rest of your gang mates instantly start contributing more money to camp. The shared camp fund is what’s used to upgrade its facilities, so make sure you donate generously. Throwing in a healthy chunk of change after every few missions will ensure you soon have a tidy amassed sum to spend on camp upgrades, and we’ve got all the details of what’s available in our Red Dead Redemption 2 Camp upgrades list.

17. Carry a horse revival kit at all times

With Red Dead Redemption 2 horse permadeath absolutely a thing, you’re going to want to be prepared for the worst — and try and keep your furry friend safe at all times. One way to do that — along with refraining from throwing it off a cliff, driving it into a tree or wagon, putting it in the middle of a firefight, or leaving it on the train tracks — is to make sure you’ve always got a horse revival kit in your pocket. These massive injections will bring your valiant steed back from the brink of death and can be purchased from any stable for $9.50. And trust me, when your horse is about to fade away, you’re going to be grateful for one of these guys.

18. Shoot into the air to scare off potential foes and predators

You’ll learn this as part of the Red Dead Redemption 2 story, during a sheep herding expedition — yes, really — but you can draw your gun, then press up on the D-Pad, in order to shoot in the air. This can scare off anyone threatening you, clear a saloon, or give a wolf or other animal predator a fright, which can come in handy.

19. Always carry a jacket in case of a cold snap

It might sound like we’re a worried parent, but the weather can be changeable, especially when there’s the potential of hoofing it up a mountain on any given mission. You should store a cold outfit on your horse for when you visit mountainous regions, which you can do from your clothes trunk at your area of the camp homestead. Being cold will affect your health and stamina so it’s worth being prepared.

20. You can Split Point all of your bullets at a campfire to make them more powerful

If you set up a camp in the wilderness, you have a number of options available, but one of them — which you can have access to from fairly early on in the game — is split pointing all your ammo. It takes a while, as you have to do it on a bullet by bullet basis, but will increase the damage they cause and slow down your Dead Eye drain when in your gun chamber.

21. Use your bandana liberally if you don’t want to risk being identified while committing crimes

Committing crimes is basically your bread and butter when it comes to being an outlaw, but there’s a way to minimise the risk of being identified while doing them. Don your bandana — found in the bottom left hand section of your items menu — to hide your identity. That way, when you’ve got a bounty on your head, you can still walk around the towns without the lawmakers knowing exactly who they’re hunting.

Although, top tip is when talking to other civilians, make sure to remove the bandana otherwise they won’t want to chat, as they know you’re head’s really in the crime-committing mindset.

22. Tap the gallop button to slow your horse stamina usage

A lot of your time in Red Dead 2 is spent on your horse, galloping between one point and another, which can be quite the lengthy journey unless you go at full pelt. Unfortunately, that nibbles away at your horse’s stamina, unless you tap the gallop button (A/X) in time with your horse’s gait as that allows you to increase your speed without using up your stamina. Gallop away fellow outlaws!

23. You can change the name of your horse

Forming a bond with your horse takes a while, and can feel a bit weird when they’re just called Kentucky Saddler or [insert other horse breed here]. Thankfully you can rename your horse by heading to any Stable, click on “Manage Owned Horses”, choosing the horse you want to rename and then going to Services, and there you’ll find the rename horse option, hidden away.

24. Hold down Options / Select to bring up your map

This might sound stupid to anyone who’s already figured it out, but working out that holding down Select / Options brings up your map — rather than forcing you to choose the map from your settings menu — genuinely blew the minds of several members of the GamesRadar team. Shortcut unlocked.

25. If you’re trying to tick off the challenges check your log

There are plenty of challenges that you’ll start wanting to tick off on your various adventures in Rockstar’s Wild West, from running over rabbits with your horse, to eating all four different berry variations. But you’ll only be able to see when you get the first thing for the challenge, and the last. You have to head to the Challenges tab in your log (tab left on the D-Pad) in order to see your progress.

26. There are cheat codes hidden in the newspapers

If you’re anything like me, you’re not going to want to stop and read a newspaper in your quest to getting all your dosh back from Blackwater and beyond. But, it actually behooves you to do so, because the periodicals that you buy from the Newspaper Seller actually have cheat codes woven into the text. You have to buy a specific newspaper to unlock each cheat code, so you can’t just find the phrases to insert in the cheats menu on that old internet machine. You physically need to own each newspaper.

And to make it even more complicated, not every newspaper holds a cheat code. You’ll spot them on the back cover — if it contains one — as a little phrase set apart on its own — like this:

Helpfully, we’ve gathered together a list of all the available Red Dead Redemption 2 cheats, though you won’t be able to enter some of them until you’ve purchased the relevant newspaper to unlock it.

Tips For Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 may seem like a simple western-style shooter on the surface, but anyone who has played it will know there are a lot of mechanics at play that makes it a rich and engaging experience. In fact, the more you know about these mechanics the better an outlaw you can be.

Things like properly maintaining your equipment, hunting with bows, wearing disguises while committing crimes, and even petting dogs can benefit you tremendously in your next playthrough. Here are some general tips to consider if someone wants to become a pro in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Updated on February 3, 2022 by Ritwik Mitra: Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the greatest open-world games of all time. Arthur Morgan’s journey as a member of Dutch’s gang is an incredibly riveting one that is an absolute blast to witness from start to end. Of course, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a vast game packed with an overwhelming amount of content, and players would appreciate any way that could make the experience more enjoyable to play. The following expanded RDR2 tips will help out a ton in this regard.

15/15 Get The Best Horse In The Game Quickly

The Arabian horse is the best horse in Red Dead Redemption 2. While buying it from a stable can be a rather taxing endeavor, players can get a beautiful white-coated Arabian near Lake Isabella in the northwestern corner of the map.

The horse is extremely fast, with its other stats being quite great as well. Roaming around the countryside with this beautiful steed will certainly make the game far more enjoyable.

14/15 Go On Autopilot With Your Horse

When players put on a marker in Red Dead Redemption 2, there’s actually a trick that allows them to reach this location without any input. Players can simply start riding the horse on the path and turn on cinematic mode, allowing them to leave the controller as the horse travels at its own pace.

Of course, players need to be wary of any sounds occurring near them, since it could be a potential event. Being wary of these occurrences will help them enjoy the best of both worlds in this amazing game.

13/15 Check Your Journal Often

Arthur’s journal is one of the most interesting documents in Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s a great way to stay up-to-date with the story and read up on some obscure facets if required.

The journal is also full to the brim with amazing illustrations and documentation of Arthur’s side activities. It’s a great record of everything the player has accomplished up till that point.

12/15 Unlock The Free Fast Travel Option

Red Dead Redemption 2‘s world is absolutely massive. In fact, the map is so big that traveling from one area to another can take ages.

RELATED: The Best Outfits In Red Dead Redemption 2

Thankfully, Red Dead Redemption 2 has its fair share of fast travel options, along with a free one that can be unlocked within the camp itself. Players need to reach Chapter 2 and accumulate $545 before the Fast Travel map becomes accessible.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has its fair share of extensive menus that can be quite cumbersome to navigate. Exiting back into the game world can take quite some time, as a result.

However, within sub-menus, players can still jump directly back to the main game. They simply need to hold the back button instead of pressing it multiple times, allowing them to go right back into the fray at a moment’s notice.

10/15 Pay Your Bounty

As you start committing crimes and getting noticed by the lawmen you’ll start accruing a bounty. A small bounty can be tedious at times and a high bounty will make you the target of anyone with a gun desperate for some cash.

Even though money might be tight in the beginning it’s often in your best interest to routinely pay off your bounty by heading to the local post office. You’ll find paying down your bounty will be much more beneficial and cost-effective as you won’t burn through nearly as much ammo defending yourself from bounty hunters and law enforcement.

9/15 Wear A Disguise During Crimes

One thing you can do to avoid accruing as much of a bounty in the first place is to wear a disguise. Wearing a simple bandana or a mask during a crime will make it harder for people to recognize you and minimize how much bounty you accrue.

Related: TheBest Outfits In Red Dead Redemption 2 (& The Worst)

Eventually, you’ll want to have an outfit that you only wear during crimes to completely avoid detection and drawing suspicion to yourself. The outfit might be expensive at first, but it’ll save you a ton of money paying off bounties in the long run.

8/15 Have Three Outfits

Speaking of outfits you generally want to have three outfits on your horse at all times. You want an outfit suitable for cold weather, one suitable for warmer climates, and one for when you’re committing crimes.

You lose a ton of stamina if your character is too cold or too hot and the last entry already explained why a disguise is helpful. If you want to explore the best areas in the game or commit a lot of crimes then you definitely want these outfits sooner rather than later.

7/15 Pet The Dogs

The last tip when it comes to crime is to pet every dog you come across. Dogs in this world have a tendency to bark at your character when they see you and this can be problematic when using stealth to commit a crime or if you’re looking to avoid drawing attention.

Petting the dog establishes a camaraderie and they won’t be alarmed when you’re around them in the future. It’s also great to keep them from yapping over and over when you’re around them which can get old really quickly.

6/15 Groom Your Horse

Your horse is your best friend in this game, and it’s important to keep it well-groomed. A clean horse will have better stamina which is key for committing crimes or getting out of dangerous situations. You should make a habit of brushing your horse free of all the dirt and grime that comes from traveling in the old west.

Related: Red Dead Redemption 2: The Most Incredible Details

While you should get a horse brush sooner rather than later you can save yourself some time and money by running your horse through water or walking it through a rainstorm. It’s a cheap and quick way to get them clean, but you’ll want the brush for arid climates when water isn’t readily available.

5/15 Keep Your Guns Clean

In addition to keeping your horse clean you need to keep your guns clean. A gun that’s covered in grime or too wet will start misfiring and having other issues until it’s no longer usable. You want your guns to work when you need them to so make a habit of cleaning them with oil.

When your funds allow you can save yourself some of that headache by getting reinforced holsters. These babies will protect your guns from the elements and save you a lot of time and money keeping them cleaned.

4/15 Hunt With Bows

Whether you’re looking for the perfect pelt, a legendary animal, food for dinner, or to sell the meat to a butcher you want to be hunting with bows. You can hunt with a gun of course, but it often lowers the value of the meat and can draw some unwanted attention.

Related: The Most Difficult Red Dead Redemption 2 Legendary Animals To Hunt

When an animal is killed with a bow the meat and pelts are more valuable which means more money in your pocket. It also saves you from using ammo you might need in an upcoming gunfight. It may take a while to get used to but get yourself a bow and start practicing.

3/15 Grab First, Study Later

After the gun smoke clears and the bodies start cooling on the ground you may not know it, but you’re on the clock. Your fellow gang members will start going through and stripping the bodies of any loot which could mean losing out on much-needed cash or valuable items for yourself.

You should get in the habit of making a quick sweep to grab everything you can without spending a lot of time looking at what you found. When your pockets are full or there aren’t any more bodies you can take a moment to sort through the goods.

2/15 Be Honorable

Yes you are an outlaw and you will commit many, many crimes, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have any honor. The Honor system will determine your reputation among the villages and can benefit or harm you depending on where you stand.

Honor is obtained through helping Strangers during random encounters. Having a high honor will unlock outfits and give you discounts at shops. The only reason to consider letting your honor get low is to improve the drop rate for Deadeye tonic, tobacco, alcohol, and some thrown weapons from dead bodies.

1/15 Help Others Whenever Possible

Apart from improving your Honor ranking it really benefits you, in the long run, to take a moment to help those you come across. Whether it’s helping someone with a bad injury, locating lost items, or recovering a wagon, it’s in your best interest to help them out.

Some won’t reward you with very much, but a few can give you access to new tonics, better items, and some lump sums of cash. At the very least your Honor will go up so pay it forward and help someone in need whenever you can.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.

How to Survive in Red Dead Redemption 2 — Top 15 Newbie Tips

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a huge game, you can literally get lost in the number of possibilities, but it is in no hurry to explain everything. Therefore, this guide contains tips that will help novice players feel more comfortable, get comfortable in the game and, of course, raise money — without them there is nowhere in the Wild West.

1. Collect all items

Be sure to collect loot from all corpses. At the very beginning of the game there will be two skirmishes, after which it is advisable to search all the dead enemies, let the partners tell you to hurry up. So the second chapter will seem a little easier. Loot anytime, anywhere, the minimap will help you with this. An exception should be made only for civilians. Killing them lowers your honor level, and stealing from corpses will lower it even lower.

The same goes for items. Do not pass tables, cabinets, safes, drawers and even fireplaces (money is often hidden in chimneys). Let the money not be everywhere, but you can be rewarded with provisions and other items.

If you follow this advice, you will always have some cash and a lot of valuables to sell to the Fence — you will meet him in the story near the beginning of the game. But more importantly, you will always have provisions, healthy tonics and horse care items — you don’t have to spend money on this.

2. Hunting and herbalism is the best way to earn money at the beginning of the game

Herbs can be sold to doctors, and animal carcasses (or skins, meat and other trophies) to hunters — the first you will find on the way to Strawberry. This is not a difficult and legal income, which will also replenish your directory. Later, fishing will be added to this list.

3. Use the Cinematic Camera

It’s useful for more than just taking screenshots. Turns on by holding down the camera change button. If you hold the run button in the «movie» mode, the character will automatically follow the road to the mission goal or the point you set on the map.

4. Don’t forget about new mechanics and return to old locations

New mechanics may appear in the game even after 30 hours of play. Moreover, a bright notification will not pop up anywhere, no one will launch a separate tutorial. Many opportunities open up after completing the main and side missions, you will be trained right in the process. So you, for example, learn about stealth or ways to improve the camp. Hacking safes and locks, for example, will teach you only in the middle of the game. It turns out like in metroidvanias — with new skills in old locations, new sources of income may appear.

5. Upgrade your starting horse, don’t buy new ones

The horse in RDR 2 is your faithful partner and comrade. But in many cities, stallions are sold that are superior in parameters to the starting satellite. However, you should not spend money on them, but it is better to improve communication with yours. Feed the horse, take care of it, buy new «equipment» for it, then its health and stamina will grow. And you won’t notice any difference at all.

The exception is elite horses, which will appear much later. You will have to establish a connection with them again, but their parameters will also please you. On the other hand, there is absolutely no situation in the game where the abilities of the starting horse will not be enough. Tested over 100 hours of play.

6. Do not leave the house without medicine for the horse

Horses in RDR 2 die for good. But after a fatal injury or a fall, you will have a little time to save the faithful steed — if, of course, you have the very medicine for the horse. Buy three vials at once and always check if you have them.

7. Check the mission log

There are a lot of missions in the game, some of them are hard to keep track of. You can use the map to find them. Main quests are marked with yellow dots, side quests are marked with white dots. But there is an easier way. If you press the left arrow on the main screen, a journal will appear in which all tests, missions and notifications are stored. And if you hold the arrow to the left, Arthur’s journal will open, in which you can read about the events of the game from his point of view. It’s easy to forget about it, trust me.

8. If the game tells you not to go somewhere — listen

This applies to military forts, Blackwater and other locations from the first part. There you will be instantly attacked by bounty hunters. Don’t worry — you won’t miss anything important there, and after the end of the game you will be allowed to explore these regions.

9. Take your time to improve the camp

The main practical use of the camp is replenishment of supplies before going out into the world. But if you carefully search every nook and cranny and corpse, then you will almost always have everything in abundance. Therefore, do not consider improving the camp as your duty. However, some upgrades are worth getting as soon as possible. For example, to move quickly without a stagecoach or train, you need to upgrade Dutch and Arthur’s tents ($220 and $325, respectively). It is also worth spending money on a chicken coop, as well as on a boat dock in the second camp.

10. Don’t forget your bandana

When you run away from law enforcement, be sure to wear a bandana. Yes, it will not make you invisible, but thanks to it, Arthur’s face will not be associated with criminals and a reward will not be immediately appointed for your head. But keep in mind — after some time you will still be recognized.

11. Don’t rush to the story missions

RDR 2 loves to suddenly turn everything upside down. Even an ordinary-looking story mission can end in such a way that you lose a lot or even fall out of the open world for about three hours. Some saithes can also be missed. Therefore, first a dense study of the world — then the plot. If you care about third-party activities, of course.

12. Help strangers on the road

Poor fellows bitten by snakes, hunters caught in a trap, lost travelers — help everyone. Who knows where else you will meet them and how they will reward you. Later, they can give you a free weapon or suit, for example. Kindness is back in RDR 2.

13. Clean your weapons

Weapons wear out in RDR 2. You can’t lose it, but the characteristics drop dramatically over time. It is easy to deal with this — just wipe the gun with weapon oil, which is selected from corpses or bought from merchants. You can take your arsenal to a gunsmith for cleaning — it’s not expensive.

14. Dress according to the weather

Another mechanic that is easy to forget is that in hot regions dress lightly, in cold regions wear warm clothes. From overheating or hypothermia, your performance will drop dramatically, very much. By the way, a warm jacket (as well as a set of hats!), by the way, can be loaded onto a horse — so that it is always at hand

15. Don’t look for trouble

This is the main advice — especially for the early stages of the game. You will often be challenged to duels, provoked to shoot or fight. Including in cities. Don’t get fooled! Even if you didn’t start the mess, the fine may fall on you. Lawyers do not know who started the first, but they see the corpse and Morgan with bloody hands. It is often better to remain silent and just walk on by.

15 non-banal tips for Red Dead Redemption 2 — DTF games

And also why money, hunting and clothes are not important.

Before reading long guides on Red Dead Redemption 2, watch our video with 15 brief but not banal tips. To save you time, we’ve filtered out what is written in the game and what is easy to guess. And at the end they briefly told why you should not worry about food, money, hunting and warm clothes.

Video Version

We’ve read a bunch of Red Dead Redemption 2 advice articles and realized that almost all of them are banal. Players are advised what everyone already knows. The game says that the hat and clothes are on the horse, and that the map can be quickly opened by holding the Options button. We don’t want to waste your time, so we made a mini-guide with only those things that are really hard to guess. And at the end there will be tips on what, contrary to all the guides, you should not worry about.

1. Let’s start simple. Skinny Arthur runs faster and spends less stamina, while a fat one has more health.

2. Purchased weapons are better than what you take from a corpse. Apart from the legendary.

3. You can feed and brush your horse on the go if you slow down.

4. By the way, the best horse can be caught near Lake Isabella in the mountains in the northwestern part of the map. This is an Arabian stallion. It can also be purchased for $1250.

5. If the lockpick is forgotten or it is broken, the safes are perfectly opened with explosive bullets or dynamite. True, not all, but most.

6. During crimes, a bandana on your face will not hide you from the lawmen, they will recognize you anyway and announce a reward. The bandage saves only from ordinary people, they will not be able to report on you. But this only works if you change clothes constantly.
