Ps plus reduziert: The cheapest PlayStation Plus deals in December 2022

The cheapest PlayStation Plus deals in December 2022

The new PS Plus tiers launched around the globe earlier this year and since then it’s been tough to find a saving on Sony’s gaming subscription service on PS5 and PS4. However, there was an opportunity to save 25% on all three tiers of membership this Black Friday. Sadly, that offer has now expired, but we’re confident it will return in the Days of Play sale early next year.

For now, your best option is to go to the PlayStation Store in your region in order to renew your membership or use one of the few discounted gift cards that are available at some stores. We’ve listed all of today’s best PS Plus prices below.

If you’ve ended up here and are still after one of Sony’s latest consoles, you can check our PS5 restock hub for all the news of current availability. Do also check out our wider PS5 deals hub, which has offers on games, bundles, accessories and more.

PlayStation Plus Essential

Normally, a PlayStation Plus Essential membership costs $9. 99 / £6.99 / AU$11.95 a month. However, it’s always better value to buy in bulk, as you can get a 12-month subscription for $59.99 / £49.99 / AU$79.95. You’ll find the best prices for a voucher that will top-up your account to cover the cost of that length of PS Plus Essential membership below.

A three-month subscription is also available. However, the value isn’t as strong and you end up paying more per month compared to a year-long membership so we’ve disregarded it here as we’re all about giving you the best deals. However, if you do want to pay for the shorter length of time, you should be able to follow any link below and choose the 3-month option direct from the retailer’s store page in most cases instead.

PlayStation Plus Extra

PlayStation Plus Extra costs $14. 99 / £10.99 / AU$18 per month. Again, though, there’s a bigger saving if you pay for a 12-month subscription up front as that’s priced at $99.99 / £83.99 / AU$134.95.

This tier comes with all the regular benefits of PS Plus Essential, but you also get access to an ever-changing catalogue of PS5 and PS4 games to download and play. New titles are added (and, sadly, removed) all the time, so check in with our PS Plus games list to see what’s available at any moment.

So far, there’s a small saving available if you buy your top-up voucher from ShopTo in the UK. It’s currently full price no matter where you look in the US.

PlayStation Plus Premium

PlayStation Plus Premium is the highest membership tier — it costs $17. 99 / £13.49 per month. Once again, you can save money if you pay for a 12-month subscription up front as that comes in at $119.99 / £99.99.

Unsurprisingly, you get all the benefits of PS Plus Essential and Extra in this tier. On top of that, though, is access to a selection of original PlayStation, PS2, PS3, PSP and PS4 games. The majority of these are available through cloud streaming only, but a number of them — mostly the PS1 titles — can be downloaded to play as well.

There are also a number of limited-time game trials you can play, including major releases such as Horizon Forbidden West, Cyberpunk 2077 and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. The amount of free game time on these ranges from two to five hours.

Because Australia does not have cloud gaming support the highest tier in this region is slightly different. Instead, it’s dubbed PlayStation Plus Deluxe and it costs AU$21.95 or AU$154.95 for a full year. It’s effectively the same as Essential and Extra, but also includes limited-time game trials as well as access to older PS1, PS2 and PSP games — just without the cloud gaming option.

New PS Plus tiers: how to get the best deal

Brand new or returning members get the best PS Plus deal when buying any of the remaining digital codes on sale from online stores such as CD Keys and using those to activate your subscription. Depending on which tier you choose, though, it will convert into a different amount of time. For example, a 12-month PS Plus voucher equals 365 days of PS Plus Essential, 219 days of PS Plus Extra or 183 days of PS Plus Premium. A small discount is possible, then, if you buy at the right price.

Meanwhile, existing PS Plus members have been automatically converted to the Essential tier, which comes with exactly the same features and benefits you’ve had before. If you’re happy to stick with that, again, you can use any remaining PS Plus membership vouchers and codes on sale to add the time they offer as normal.

Lastly, for those looking to upgrade to a higher tier, you first have to go through the upgrade process on the PlayStation Store. When you enter the PS Plus section, you’ll see an option to convert your remaining membership time to either Extra or Premium, as well as how much it will cost. Right now, this is the only way you can upgrade. Then, if you want to add more time at a later date, you can use PS Plus digital codes to renew with the same conversion rates as seen above depending on the tier.

As well as this, there is also the option to buy PS wallet top-up vouchers and then use those funds to buy a PS Plus membership through the PlayStation Store. Some retailers offer discounts on these, so that might end up being the best way to save in the future when the monthly PS Plus specific codes are completely removed from sale.

As you might be able to tell, it’s all a little confusing right now, but hopefully should settle down once the new system has been in place for a while. It may be wise to hold off on extending your membership for now if you can as we often see the best PS Plus deals during major sales events. Last year, for example, the price for a 12-month subscription went as low as $39.99 in the US. While in the UK, a subscription fell to under £30.

It’s difficult to say if those prices will return this year what with the new tiers now in place, but we will play close attention to Prime Day to see if there are better savings once again during Amazon’s major yearly sale on July 12 and 13.

If you play games online then a PlayStation Plus Essential membership is absolutely worth buying. Some would say it’s a, well, essential, part of your PlayStation experience.

However, that’s not all it’s for and PS Plus does have benefits even if you don’t play online. There are the free monthly games: a constantly updated roster of games to download and play that will save you far more than the membership costs each month. You’re never left wanting if you’re open to new experiences and looking for something new to play.

PS5 owners also get access to the PlayStation Plus Collection: a selection of 18 top PS4 games that you can play on the new console including God of War, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Ratchet & Clank, Days Gone, The Last of Us Remastered and Persona 5.

On top of that, there are exclusive discounts on the PS Store, cloud storage and save game backups that can really come in handy if you want peace of mind that all your game progress is kept safe should anything happen to your console. Plenty of value, then.

As for the Extra and Premium tiers, well, it entriely depends on how much PlayStation gaming you do and whether the catalog of titles appeals to you. There are some huge PS5 and PS4 games available, such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Demon’s Souls and Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. Not to mention lots of nostalgia-inducing PS1, PS2 and PS3 classics on the Premuim tier like Ape Escape, Syphon Filter and Resident Evil: Director’s Cut.

Premium members also get access to game trials for PS5 releases such as Horizon Forbidden West and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. A good way to try before you buy. And there’s the option to use cloud streaming for some titles as well, as long as your internet is able to support it. It’s an investment, sure, but one that does offer good value if you’re going to use all of the available features.

What are the new PS Plus tiers?

As the new PS Plus subscription tiers roll out across June you may notice a slight change to your account. The good news is that your current membership will stay exactly the same if you want it to. You’ll be automatically moved over to PlayStation Plus Essential when the new service launches, paying the same price of $9.99 / £6.99 per month and keeping all the same benefits. The differences come if you chose to upgrade.

The next tier up is PlayStation Plus Extra for $14.99 / £10.99 per month, which has all the Essential tier benefits, plus access to a catalog of up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games to play. Think of it as Sony’s approach to Xbox Game Pass, except not all first-party releases will be available on day one — only select titles.

Then, the top tier is PlayStation Plus Premium — this costs $17.99 / £13.49 per month. It has all the benefits of the previous two tiers but also adds the ability to play select PS3 games via cloud streaming, a selection of original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP titles via download or streaming, and time-limited trials for major PS5 releases such as Horizon Forbidden West.

We’ve got a big new PS Plus vs old PS Plus comparison guide that covers all this in much more detail if you’d like to dig into it some more before you upgrade. You can also consult this table to see how the different tiers compare.

PlayStation Plus Deals: How to Save Cash on Sony’s Gaming Subscriptions

Sony made some big changes to its gaming subscriptions earlier this year. Previously, there were two different services — PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now — that have now been rolled into a single service that offers multiple membership tiers, just called PlayStation Plus. To help you understand the different tiers, and find the one that’s right for you, we’ve broken down the different membership options below.

We haven’t seen many deals since the service was overhauled, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely nonexistent. Below, you’ll find just about the only PlayStation Plus deal available at the moment, but we’re hoping to see some more deals and offers on the updated PS Plus service start to crop up in the coming weeks and months, so be sure to check back here often for the best prices available. And for even more savings, be sure to check out our roundup of the best bargains on PlayStation gear and accessories.

PlayStation Plus: Picking the Best Tier

10:39

What’s changed?

Before the revamp, PlayStation offered users two different subscription services. PlayStation Plus was a $10-per-month service similar to Xbox Live Gold that allowed users to play games online and participate in multiplayer matches. PlayStation Now was a $10-per-month cloud gaming service that gave players access to a huge library of classic titles from the PS2, PS3 and PS4. The revamp, which went live in June, has essentially rolled both memberships into a single, multitiered subscription, though it will still technically fall under the PS Plus label. There are three different membership packages available, combining different features and benefits of both previous subscriptions.

PS Plus: Essential

At $10 per month or $60 for the year, PS Plus: Essential is essentially no different than the previous PS Plus subscription. It offers all the same features, including access to online play, two monthly games for free, cloud storage and exclusive discounts at the PlayStation Store. If you had a PS Plus membership before the revamp went live, it was automatically converted to an Essential membership.

PS Plus: Extra

At $15 per month or $100 for the year, a midtier Extra subscription is somewhat similar to the Game Pass Ultimate membership offered to Xbox users. It includes all the benefits and features of an Essential membership, but also gives you access to a catalog of up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games. The selection includes plenty of hit titles like God of War, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima.

PS Plus: Premium

A Premium membership is the highest tier available, and clocks in at either $18 per month or $120 for a full year. In addition to all the benefits of both an Essential and Extra subscription, it gives you access to a massive library of more than 700 games. That includes the recent PS4 and PS5 hits from the Extra subscription, but also a catalog of more than 300 classics from the PS1, PS2 and PS3 eras (similar to the pervious PS Now subscription). It also allows you to stream many of these classic titles, so you don’t have to worry about them eating up your valuable storage space. You also get access to time-limited game trials, so you can try out new games before you commit to a purchase. If you had a subscription to PS Now before the revamp went live, it was automatically converted to a Premium membership.

PS Plus deals

Things were pretty chaotic leading up to the revamp, with people stacking discounted memberships and racking up hundreds in savings before Sony got wise to the loophole. It’s been closed for a while now, and we haven’t seen too many chances to save on a service since. Sony and retailers appear to have pulled any remaining membership codes to the now-discontinued PS Now service, but if you’re only interested in the Essential-tier membership, there are still a few holdover deals on the original PS Plus.

Sony

PlayStation Plus (Essential) 1-year membership: $51

Save $9

It’s pretty slim pickings for deals on the updated PS Plus at the moment, so if you’re looking to save some cash, this is your best bet. This offer is technically for an original PS Plus subscription from before the revamp, which will automatically convert to an Essential membership. We haven’t had a chance to test this deal ourselves, but several reviewers have stated that they’ve had no problem redeeming one of these older codes. An Essential membership is typically $60 for the year, which is already a 50% discount on the monthly plan pricing. But right now at CD Keys, you can get an annual subscription for $51, which drops the monthly cost to just over $4. You won’t get access to the massive library of games, but you will be able to play online and you will receive two free games every month.

Sony

PlayStation Plus (Essential) 3-month membership: $24

Save $6

If you don’t want to commit to a full year, CD Keys is offering a similar deal on a three-month PS Plus Essential membership. You can sign up right now for just $24, which drops the monthly cost to just $8 and saves you $6 total compared to the usual price.

Servo gearboxes for almost any application

Our servo gearboxes stand for dynamics and precision. They are compact and have a strong, torsionally rigid design. We offer low backlash planetary and bevel servo gearboxes that cover a torque range from 25 to 3000 Nm and are also used in complex motion control systems.

What is a servo gearbox?

Gearboxes for servo drive

Like all gearboxes, servo gearboxes are also used to convert torque and speed and are thus the central component of any servo gearbox . Special feature of the servo gearbox: Due to its high torsional rigidity, combined with the very small or constant torsional backlash , it provides very high accelerations and high torques . Therefore, users of equipment that requires high positioning accuracy, short cycle times, precise speed, high processing speeds and maximum dynamics will not be able to do without servo gears.

How do servo gears work?

Any servo gearbox reduces the speed of motor . Depending on the location and method of operation of its gear train and the number of stages, it transmits force in different ways. Therefore, the most important parameter for a servo gearbox is gear ratio i : It shows the ratio of the input speed (motor side) to the output speed (load side). Backlash-reducing machining and optimized gearing give the servo gearbox the ability to can withstand higher radial loads than standard gearboxes and transmit higher acceleration torques at high speeds.

What types of servo gearboxes are available?

Industrial drive technology primarily uses servo gear units in the form of coaxial / planetary gears or angle / bevel gears .

  • Servo Planetary Gearboxes transmit force always coaxially. In the center they have a sun gear, which has the same direction and speed as the engine. Three or more planet gears rotate around this sun gear and transmit the sensed force to the outer ring gear on the output side. With this design, the input and output shafts rotate in the same direction, that is: they have the same direction of rotation.
  • In contrast, the gear train in bevel gear for servo drive transmits force at a right angle. In this case, the input and output shafts are perpendicular to each other, and the direction of rotation is opposite.

Low backlash servo gearboxes from

modular system

The power, dynamics and precision of the are undoubtedly exceptional features of the servo gearmotors. Take advantage of our modular system and see for yourself the variety of gear and motor combinations in the servo gear segment: For example, combine our planetary servo gears PS.F.. or PS.C.. with CMP.. synchronous servo motors, DRL.. asynchronous servo motors. or with DR… asynchronous motors. Alternatively, opt for our BS.F servo bevel gearboxes.

With SEW-EURODRIVE , you can realize the perfect gearmotor that has exactly the characteristics you need for your drive system and its tasks.

  • The low backlash servo planetary gear units of the PS.F.. and PS.C.. series combine high precision with high power density and are characterized by an extremely compact design. The installation space is used very sparingly.
  • Low Maintenance Servo Bevel Gearboxes BS.F Series stands out above all for its durability and versatility. Another plus: their angular play does not increase during the entire life of the gearbox.
