Rosenergoatom introduces virtual training of personnel at Russian NPPs

JSC Concern Rosenergoatom (part of the Electric Power Division of the State Corporation Rosatom) has completed testing a prototype of a virtual simulator for training electrical personnel. The prototype was developed by CROC Immersive Technologies.

The Leningrad NPP-2 (Sosnovy Bor, Leningrad Region) became a pilot site for introducing a new method of training technical personnel. The model for creating a VR simulator was the electrical equipment of KRU-10 kV, which is used at nuclear power plants. In 2021, the Concern plans to start introducing virtual training in production. This will improve the quality of personnel training, as well as reduce the time for equipment repair and training time for employees. nine0003

“At the moment, the electrical personnel of the stations are trained and practiced on real equipment as part of the production process. Occupational safety requirements at the stations are very strict. Therefore, employees are trained for almost a year under the guidance of a workshop specialist and are not allowed to work independently during this time. We pay special attention to digital assistants for personnel management and development, as over the next five years, Rosenergoatom will have to train several thousand people to work at new Russian and foreign power plants. This year, within the framework of the project, it is planned to create a prototype of a fully functional virtual simulator for the training unit of the Leningrad NPP-2. Ryazan specialists created a prototype of a new generation of hybrid simulator reality. The Avatar software and hardware complex was developed at the Ryazan Radio Plant, which today is part of the Sozvezdie concern of the Roselectronics holding, the Rostec state corporation.
