Pinsir Raid Guide For Pokémon GO Players: August 2022
Posted on
by Theo Dwyer|
The Bug Out! 2022 event is live in Pokémon GO. In addition to bringing forth the release of Chill Drive Genesect in Tier Five Raids and Mega Scizor in Mega Raids, we also have an infestation of bugs in Tier Three raids. With this Raid Guide, you can prepare a team to take on and defeat Pinsir, perfect your catching strategy, and understand Pinsir’s Shiny rate.

Top Pinsir Counters
Pokebattler, which calculates all possible combinations of Pokémon and moves, lists the top 10 Pinsir counters as such:
- Mega Charizard Y: Fire Spin, Blast Burn
- Shadow Moltres: Fire Spin, Sky Attack
- Shadow Ho-Oh: Incinerate, Brave Bird
- Mega Pidgeot: Gust, Brave Bird
- Shadow Entei: Fire Fang, Overheat
- Mega Charizard X: Fire Spin, Blast Burn
- Shadow Charizard: Fire Spin, Blast Burn
- Staraptor: Gust, Brave Bird
- Reshiram: Fire Fang, Overheat
- Chandelure: Fire Spin, Overheat
It is recommended to power up your counters as much as possible, but creating that amount of strong Shadow Pokémon with their moves unlocked is a tall order for even the most practiced players. Here are ten additional non-Shadow and non-Mega counters that can help take down Pinsir with efficiency.
- Moltres: Fire Spin, Sky Attack
- Rampardos: Smack Down, Rock Slide
- Purified Apex Ho-Oh: Incinerate, Sacred Fire++
- Darmanitan: Fire Fang, Overheat
- Rayquaza: Air Slash, Hurricane
- Rhyperior: Smack Down, Rock Wrecker
- Entei: Fire Fang, Overheat
- Blazkien: Fire Spin, Blast Burn
- Terrakion: Smack Down, Rock Slide
- Emboar: Ember, Blast Burn
How Many Trainers Are Needed?
Pinsir can be defeated by solo trainers if you use the above counters. Fire and Flying are the best options. If you cannot guarantee the top counters with maxed-out CP and the best moves, I would suggest either pairing with another trainer or investing Stardust in powerful Pokémon.
Using the Circle Lock Technique to guarantee Great or Excellent throws, along with Golden Razz Berries, is the best way to catch Pokémon.
Shiny Odds
Pinsir is thought to have the standard, unboosted Shiny rate of one in 500.
Happy raiding, fellow trainers!

Pokemon Go Shiny List and every shiny one you can catch
Pokemon Go Shiny List includes some of the rarest Pokémon in the franchise. And while the games in the main series have their own ways to get them, to be honest, they are a little easier to find in Pokemon Go.
With Pokemon Go’s ongoing events, getting a Shiny Pokémon is relatively easy, and it’s very attractive to trainers who want to get every Pokémon in their Shiny Pokédex.
There are hundreds of Pokémon and Shiny that can be obtained in Pokemon Go over eight generations, and this guide will help trainers catch them effectively and list all that can be caught in the popular mobile game.

How to get shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go
If you’ve been playing Pokemon Go for a long time and have never stumbled upon a sparkle, don’t be surprised. Pokemon Go’s chance of being shiny is roughly 1 in 450. This means that every time you click on a Pokemon to catch it in Pokemon Go — if it has a shiny version — there is a 1 in 450 chance that it will be shiny.
However, on Pokemon Go Community Day, those odds skyrocket to 1 in 25. A Community Day happens once a month in Pokemon Go when a particular Pokemon floods the streets and pops up pretty much everywhere. Along with the other perks normally found during Community Day, Pokemon Go Glitter is becoming much more popular and you should be out of luck if you don’t find any Glitter during Community Day.
You won’t know if you’ve found a Shiny Pokémon or not until you click on it and enter combat. If the color change is minor, you’ll also know you’ve found a shiny one if a bunch of sparks fly out of the Pokémon before you throw the first ball. Once you’ve caught a shiny Pokemon Go, you can search for «shiny» in your Pokemon list to show you the full list of shiny Pokemon Go.
Complete Pokemon Go Brilliant List
All of the Pokemon in our Pokemon Go shiny list below can be found as shiny in Pokemon Go, including how you get them all as some of them are exclusive to raids or eggs. Currently, all evolutions cannot be considered brilliant — the only exceptions are Pikachu, Nidorina, Nidokuin and Alolan Exeggutor.
