Survival-Elemente in Rollenspielen? Gab’s schon 1981 in Ultima.
Mythos Gothic — Die Piranha-Bytes-Formel analysiert (Plus-Video)

Outward is harsh and occasionally frustrating, but it does what so few games do. It requires you to put real thought into the choices you make, and it makes those choices feel like they really matter. Most of all, it makes you approach each and every encounter as if your life depended on it—even though you never die.

It’s still a solid playthrough and unique enough to consider worth experiencing — especially with a friend. The best case scenario is that Outward serves as a successful proof-of-concept that leads to an experience down the road that hits a bullseye where Outward just narrowly missed the mark.

Taken as a whole, Outward practically screams «cult classic. » Its consistent challenge, cumbersome combat, and co-op systems won’t resonate with everyone. But for a particular type of player—ones that don’t mind trading dozens of frustrating moments for open-ended experiences—Nine Dot Studios’ RPG is sure to find a dedicated audience. Outward’s aspirations are commendable, but just like its protagonist, the end result is just average.

Nine Dots Studio’s RPG will appeal to people who love fiddly systems and have enormous patience. But if that isn’t you then it’ll simply feel like a time drain.

This game is not for everyone, that’s true, but that doesn’t make it bad. Its quite good in fact, and many of the design choices are deliberate not an oversight. There are a million ARPGs built just the way the others are, why not let this stellar gem gleam in its own manner? Fantastic title, with a lot of heart!… Expand

The game is all about learning, you start with having trouble against every enemies you encounter, and then you make really enjoyable fights against greater enemies, thanks to your new skills and equipments 😀 !
There is a huge survival aspect, which is greatly appreciated, granting you penalties or buffs !
You can be the white knight who saves everyone in his path, crushing his evil enemies, or be more «gray» and be mean sometimes (I don’t know yet if you can be very mean, I made the white knight man).
Quests can be accomplished in different ways, with different results, but this is not a HUGE part here.
Some people say the graphics are not good, well, they may not be as beautiful as the nowadays AAA games, but they are coherent with the universe, the world, and the gameplay.
I don’t put 10/10, because of the few lags, and the choices in quests which, to my mind, do not have as huge an impact on the game as I would like.
For 40€, the game is totally worth it, buy it !
PS : I absolutely want a 4 co-op mode to have huge fun with 3 friends :DDD… Expand

First of all, many aspects of the game feel really unpolished, from the graphics to some game mechanics.
The combat is sluggish, some sayFirst of all, many aspects of the game feel really unpolished, from the graphics to some game mechanics.
The combat is sluggish, some say that they wanted to give an “old” feeling to it, but this is a crap excuse, the old games (early 2000-2005) just couldn’t do better at the time with the technology they had available. The game wants to be an open world experience that lets the player explore everything himself without hand-holding, and that’s fine, but the starting difficulty is just crap and unbalanced.
When you start the game, every single enemy needs 8-12 hits to die depending on the weapon you have, while they can kill you with 3-4 hits (even some **** chocobo-like birds). The crafting system just plain sucks, fighting enemies doesn’t feel rewarding compared to their difficulty. I played around 7-8 hours and the character upgrades felt average at best.
There are some other seriously bad things that I really hate about the immersion in this game, like the rain that doesn’t clip and it can be seen even if you are under a HUGE cover. This is 2010 level stuff, put a little more time to make such things a little less immersion breaking. Also, there is no rain sound, WTF?
Another immersion breaker is the water, there is no water interaction with it, walking on water has no visual/sound effects. The aesthetic of the game can be good at times (it reminds me of Dragon’s Dogma), but the horrible models and textures make the game feel like it was released 9-11 years ago, with some minor exceptions. The characters look worse than the vanilla Skyrim that came out in 2011, and the character creation is a joke.
The camera is bad and I even found it to be annoying at times.
To sum it up, the game is for those that want to play something really old with every meaning of that word. From sluggish mechanics, outdated graphics, immersion-breaking visuals and effects, bad audio design, and horrible combat and enemy design.
This game has some good ideas and it’s trying to bring back some of the good “old-school” RPG mechanics, but it fails horribly to make it with today’s standards. It plays like a 2005 game, with the visuals of a 2010 one, while it released in 2019, it is mediocre at best.… Expand

A collaborative team of researchers from three European universities has found «the bare, pulsating core of a massive star. » This is stated in the publication in the journal Natural Astronomy. It is noted that, as a rule, these nuclei are located directly inside the stars, being covered with the so-called «opaque shell». And although it is believed that they can still exist without it, the scientific community has not encountered such a phenomenon before.

In a research paper, scientists said that the star, called Columbae , was found by pure chance, when they noticed an unusual light spectrum emanating from it in a cluster of studied stars. In addition, experts believe that for the existence of such an object, the shell had to be “torn off” from an ordinary star by something, so that only one core remained after it.
Researchers believe that before the loss of the shell, the dimensions of the star exceeded the dimensions of the Sun by 12 times, and now its dimensions are only five times larger than it. In addition, according to experts, such a bare core is extremely difficult to notice due to the fact that its lifetime is only 10 thousand years, which is considered a short period by astronomical standards. In the future, according to scientists, after burning helium, the object will begin to synthesize heavier elements, and then explode, becoming a neutron star.
