Destiny 2 Season of Dawn Obelisks: How To Unlock And Use

If you’ve logged into Destiny 2 since the latest Season of Dawn update, you may have noticed mysterious obelisks on The Tangled Shore and Mars. These new additions to the game look a bit like planetary vendors at first glance, but they serve several purposes, which can make them confusing to interact with at first.

Activating the Obelisks

Obelisks currently appear on The Tangled Shore, Mars, Nessus, and the EDZ, but they all must be activated as part of separate quest lines.

When you first log in, pick up the A Matter of Time quest from Ikora Rey. As part of this, you’ll be sent to the Tangled Shore, where the game will walk you through two simple steps to activating the first obelisk. To see the exact steps involved, check out our A Matter of Time guide.

To activate the rest of the obelisks, you’ll need to completely finish the A Matter of Time quest. Once you complete the quest and receive your seasonal artifact, return to Osiris on Mercury and speak with him. He’ll have new quests for you to pick up, including the Obelisk Link quests. Note that when you pick up one of Osiris’ quests, he will no longer show the rest. If this happens, just exit the conversation and talk to him again to respawn his available quests.

To complete the Mars Link, you’ll need to defeat Hive on Mars. This is easily accomplished by heading to either of Mars’ landing points and activating Escalation Protocol, which will cause several Hive to spawn. Once you’ve done that, head to the obelisk at Braytech Futurescape and deposit your materials.

For step two, simply kill enemies with a super or collect orbs to fill up a progress bar. This can also be accomplished rather quickly if you equip a super like Stormcaller which can wipe out tons of enemies at once. Again, head back to the obelisk once you complete this and interact with it to activate it.

For Nessus, you’re going to have to kill Vex on Nessus and collect 50 Undamaged Vex Parts. The trick here is you won’t get parts if you kill the Vex with abilities or weapons that cause disintegration, like Fusion Rifles. Most weapon types are fine, just make sure you’re not punching or throwing grenades at enemies here. Head to the Obelisk, which is right next to the Exodus Black landing zone, and deposit the materials. Then, you’ll have to repeat step two from the Mars link here, killing enemies with your super or collecting orbs to complete a progress bar. Once that’s done, head to the obelisk and you’ll activate it.

Finally, to unlock the EDZ link, you’ll need to defeat Cabal on the EDZ to obtain 50 pieces of Armor Plating. If you defeat a Cabal with a finisher, you’ll get more pieces, so make sure to use weapons like auto rifles or SMGs which can be used to whittle enemy health down and set them up for a finisher. It’s rinse and repeat from there; follow the same steps as the other obelisks and you’ll be able to activate the one on the EDZ.

Some players have reported a bug that prevents them from activating the EDZ obelisk after depositing the necessary materials into it. If this happens to you, leave the area, return, and interact with it again.

What do Obelisks do?

Obelisks are a bit like planetary vendors, in that they have their own bounties and weapons which can be obtained from them. To use obelisks, you’ll need to get familiar with the new Fractaline currency. Fractalines are used to upgrade an obelisk’s resonance rank, which levels each one up and unlocks more options.

Fractalines come in bundles of varying sizes and can be obtained in several ways. You’ll get bundles for reaching certain ranks on your season pass, giving you guaranteed drops.

However, the most consistent source of fractalines will come from bounties. Each obelisk carries two weekly bounties, which will reward Major Fractalines Harvests. You’ll want to make sure you’re completing these often, as upgrading the obelisk will net more perks.

In addition to traditional bounties, you’ll see weapon bounties within each obelisk, which cost both glimmer and fractalines. These will give you a random objective in order to obtain the weapon listed. One weapon bounty will become available at resonance rank one, another at rank three, and a third at rank five.

These bounties can be repeated, which means that you can easily use them to farm for perfect rolls on popular weapons like Bygones. The only catch is you’re limited in the number of weapon bounties you can carry at once, denoted by your Timelost number above the row.

You’ll also see a row of enhancements. These are persistent perks that you can unlock in exchange for glimmer. These range from giving you a chance at planetary materials for killing enemies to raising your Timelost limit. The more you rank up, the more perks will become available to you at each obelisk. This row also contains special mods which can be purchased with Mod Components.

Customizing Sundial rewards with Obelisks

Season of Dawn brings the all-new Sundial activity to Destiny 2, and obelisks can be used to customize the rewards you get for completing it. Each obelisk adds two unique weapons to the activity’s loot pool.

As soon as you activate an obelisk via a Sundial link, you’ll be able to obtain those weapons at the end of a Sundial run. Hover over the first box in the Sundial Link box and you can see what weapons that obelisk adds. You’ll be able to obtain the following weapons.

The catch is there’s a limit to how many obelisks can be activated at once. Currently, you can have two active. The season pass will let you link a third eventually, and there will be five obelisks in the game total.

At the moment, it appears that you won’t be able to have every obelisk active at once. Fortunately, the second box in the Sundial Link row will allow you to reset all of your sundial links for 10,000 glimmer, allowing you to activate the ones you want.

Obelisks are the key to getting new rewards in Season of Dawn, so take the time to activate and upgrade these whenever you get a bundle of fractalines.

Destiny 2: Season of Dawn adds a new activity in the Sundial, and a bizarre crafting system to go with it. The Obelisks on the Tangled Shore, Mars, Nessus, and the EDZ act as the late-game progression this season. You can upgrade them, grab new bounties , and craft weapons on your own or via the Sundial.

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about Destiny 2’s Obelisks from Season of Dawn.

Unlocking the Obelisks

When you first start Season of Dawn and speak to Osiris, he’ll send you on a quest to activate the Obelisk on the Tangled Shore. You’ll need to complete a simple fetch quest by killing Cabal and then destroying enemies with abilities. Once you’re able to enter the Obelisk’s menu, you’ve officially unlocked it for further use.

The Mars, EDZ, and Nessus Obelisks have a similar quests from Osiris. But just because you’ve activated all the Obelisks doesn’t mean they’re connected to the Sundial.

Linking the Obelisks to the Sundial

At the start of the season, you can only link one Obelisk to the Sundial at a time. Each Obelisk allows you to choose one weapon at the end of a Sundial run. For example, if you link the Tangled Shore Obelisk to the Sundial and then complete a Sundial match, you can choose from the Steelfeather Repeater auto rifle or the Breachlite sidearm. Linking the Mars Obelisk grants access to the Martyr’s Retribution tube grenade launcher or the Line in the Sand linear fusion rifle. The EDZ’s Obelisk grants access to the Infinite Paths 8 pulse rifle or the Gallant Charge fusion rifle. The Nessus Obelisk grants access to the Patron of Lost Causes scout rifle or the Traveler’s Judgement 5 sidearm.

Tangled Shore Obelisk Weapon Recommendation

Both the Steelfeather Repeater auto rifle and Breachlite sidearm are good. Breachlite is best at short range, aggressive fights, where the Steelfeather Repeater is good for longer, short to medium range fights.

Mars Obelisk Weapon Recommendation

Neither the Martyr’s Retribution tube grenade launcher or the Line in the Sand linear fusion rifle are weapons you’ll use in every day combat. They’re special occasion guns, but Martyr’s Retribution is more useful due to its unique Wave Frame style, which creates a unique explosive pattern on the ground. When a Martyr’s Retribution grenade hits the ground, it creates a wave of energy that travels in a line, similar to Titan’s Thermite Grenade.

How to switch Obelisks for the Sundial

If you want to switch which Obelisk you have connected to the Sundial, you need to visit it in-person. If you currently have the Tangled Shore Obelisk linked and you want to switch to Mars, go to the Mars Obelisk. At the bottom of the menu, click on Sundial Link: Clear All. This is quite expensive at 10,000 Glimmer, so be sure before you click. This will deactivate any links you’re currently using. Then click on Sundial Link: Mars to link the Mars Obelisk to the Sundial. You’ll need to use the same process to connect the EDZ and Nessus Obelisks.

As you upgrade different Obelisks, or your season pass, you can start to link more Obelisks simultaneously.

Upgrading the Obelisks

Each Obelisk comes with its own series of upgrades. For 200 Polarized Fractaline — Season of Dawn’s new currency earnable through Bounties, the Sundial, and the season pass — you can increase the level of one Obelisk. For the first rank, this unlocks new weapon frames for you to farm and other upgrades. Each subsequent upgrade unlocks the ability to farm a new weapon or increase the various Obelisk Enhancements.

The Timelost Weapon frame bounties let you quickly farm rolls for Season of Dawn’s new weapons without completing the Sundial. Each Obelisk also has a Timelost frame for an older weapon, like the Bygones pulse rifle. Each time you buy these frames, the objective to complete it will change to something random. But if you complete the bounty, you’ll get a new roll of the weapon.

The Obelisk Enhancements are just as helpful as new guns. Each Obelisk has an upgrade tree that slowly unlocks as you upgrade your Obelisk. The first skill on the Tangled Shore’s Obelisk grants you bonus Spirals on Scorn kills. But as you upgrade, you can increase the number of Obelisks connected to the Sundial at once.

There are also powerful late game Season of Dawn mods that unlock as you upgrade the Obelisks. Each Obelisk has a different skill tree, so you have a good reason to upgrade them all during the season.

The Tower Obelisk

With Saint-14 back in the Tower, the Titan offers a quest to let you build a new Obelisk. This Tower Obelisk is a link between each of the other Obelisks on the EDZ, Tangled Shore, Nessus, and Mars. By connecting them all together, you can manage your Obelisks from the Tower without having to individually land on each planet.

When you first speak to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar, pick up the “Cornerstone – Some Assembly Required” quest. You need to pick up 10 Crucial Components from Fallen, Cabal, and Vex in the system (30 total).

Crucial Components drop from orange or yellow health bar enemies. The more difficult the enemy, the more Crucial Components you’ll receive. You’ll get most of these from just playing the game, but if you’re looking for a specific location, we recommend doing Lost Sectors on the EDZ for Fallen and Cabal, and Nessus for the Vex and Cabal.

Once you have all 30 Crucial Components, go talk to Saint-14 in the Tower. For the Delivery Pending step, go to the Obelisk near the Cryptarch in the Tower. Interact with it to get the Synchronized Resonance step.

You now have access to the Tower Obelisk, which includes two new consumables to speed up the seasonal grind — Timelost Friends and the Fractaline Skimmer. There are also four quests at the Tower Obelisk, one for each of the other Obelisks around the system.

If you want access to another Obelisk’s inventory, you need to link it to the Tower Obelisk first. Grab a Timelost weapon bounty from the Obelisk that you want to link. Complete the bounty and collect the weapon. Now return to the Tower and interact with the Obelisk to forge a connection. Repeat this for the other Obelisks.

The Tower Obelisk is mostly about convenience, allowing you to buy bounties from any linked Obelisk without having to leave the Tower. But the Tower Obelisk also offers its own weapon bounties. You can grind for the Perfect Paradox shotgun or the two season pass weapons — the Trophy Hunter sniper rifle and Pyroclastic Flow rocket launcher — after you unlock them.

The only thing you can’t do with the Tower Obelisk is level up individual Obelisks with Polarized Fractaline. For that, you’ll still need to travel to the individual planets.

At the end of a warm October day, when «the crops had already been grown, and nature was full of the peace of a fine autumn,» a forty-year-old journalist of one of the regional newspapers of the Grodno region, having met an acquaintance on the street, found out that two days ago he died still young ( 36 years old!) teacher Miklashevich from the village of Seltso. Two years ago, at a teacher’s conference, Miklashevich told a journalist that he had long wanted to turn to him with a complicated case. Everyone knew that Miklashevich, as a teenager during the occupation, was somehow connected with the partisans, and his five classmates were shot by the Nazis. Due to Miklashevich’s efforts, a monument was erected in their honor. The teacher studied the history of the partisan war in the Grodno region. And now he needed help in some complicated matter. The journalist promised to come and help. But he kept postponing the trip. It was about twenty kilometers to Selets, and in winter he waited “until the frosts subside or the blizzard subsides, in the spring — until it dries up and gets warmer; in the summer, when it was both dry and warm, all thoughts were occupied by vacation and chores for the sake of some month in the cramped, hot south. And now I’m late.

Before his mind’s eye appeared a very thin, sharp-shouldered figure of Miklashevich, with shoulder blades protruding under his jacket and an almost boyish neck. He had a withered, heavily wrinkled face. It seemed that it was beaten by life, an elderly man. But the look is calm and clear.

Shaking on the potholes, the journalist scolded «fuss for the sake of an illusory insatiable well-being», because of which «the more important is left aside, and life is significant when filled with care for people near or far who need your help» .

An obelisk appeared around the corner, standing not far from the bus stop. Jumping to the ground, the journalist went to a long avenue of ancient, broad-leaved elms, at the end of which the school building was white. The livestock specialist, who arrived with a box of Moskovskaya vodka, suggested that the commemoration was celebrated in the teacher’s house, behind the school. Something was happening that the journalist did not understand, but that others understood. He quietly asked the neighbor on the right who this noisy veteran was. It turned out that the former local teacher Timofey Titovich Tkachuk, who now lives in the city.

Tkachuk headed for the exit. The journalist followed him. There was no point in staying. Approaching the stop, Tkachuk sat down on the foliage, putting his feet into the dry ditch, and the journalist, not losing sight of the road, wandered to the obelisk. It was a squat — slightly taller than human height — concrete structure with a picket fence. The obelisk looked poor, but was well-groomed. The journalist was surprised to see a new name on a black metal plate — Frost A.I., drawn above the rest with white oil paint.

Tkachuk came out onto the asphalt and offered the journalist to ride with him. They walked in silence. In order to somehow defuse the situation, the journalist asked Tkachuk if he had known Miklashevich for a long time. It turned out a long time ago. And considers him a real person and a teacher with a capital letter. The guys followed him in a herd. And when I was a kid, I myself went in the herd for Frost. The journalist had never heard of Moroz, and Timofey Titovich began his story.

In November 1939, when Western Belarus was reunited with the Byelorussian SSR, the People’s Commissariat of Education sent Timofey Tkachuk, who had completed a two-year teacher’s course, to Western Belarus to organize schools and collective farms. Young Tkachuk, as the head of the district, wandered around the district, he himself worked in schools. The owner of the Selco estate, pan Gabrus, went to the Romanians, and in the estate Moroz opened a school for four classes. The guys studied at the Polish school, many do not cope well with the Belarusian grammar. But the main thing is that they comprehend the national and universal culture. He wanted to make children not obedient crammers, but, above all, people. And this is not very developed in the methods. This can be achieved only by the personal example of the teacher. Frost taught the children to understand moral postulates with their souls. He instilled both literacy and kindness. Somewhere schoolchildren picked up a three-legged dog and a blind cat, and Frost allowed them to settle in the school. Then a starling appeared, lagged behind the flock in the fall, so they made a cage for him.

One late January evening in 1941, passing by, Tkachuk decided to warm himself at school. The door was opened by a thin boy of about ten. He said that Ales Ivanovich went to escort two younger twin girls through the forest. Three hours later, the frosty Frost returned. Such is the story with girls. It’s getting cold, my mother doesn’t let me go to school: the shoes are bad and I have to walk far. Then Frost bought them a pair of shoes. Usually the girls were accompanied by Kolya Borodich, the one who once sawed the log with the teacher. Today he did not come to school, so the teacher had a chance to go as an escort. And about his tenant, he said that the boy would stay at school for the time being, at home, they say, there’s trouble, his father beats him hard. That boy was Pavlik Miklashevich.

Two weeks later, the district prosecutor Sivak ordered Tkachuk to go to Seltso and take citizen Miklashevich’s son from Moroz. The prosecutor did not want to listen to objections: the law! Frost listened in silence, called Pavel. He refused to go home. Frost unconvincingly explains that, according to the law, a son must live with his father and, in this case, with his stepmother. The boy began to cry, and Miklashevich Sr. led him to the highway. And now everyone sees how the father removes the belt from the casing and starts beating the boy. The policeman is silent, the children look reproachfully at the adults. Frost limped across the yard. “Stop,” he shouts, “stop the beating!” He tore Pavlov’s hand out of his father’s: «You won’t get it from me!» Almost got into a fight, managed to separate them. The whole case was referred to the executive committee, a commission was appointed, and my father sued. But Frost still achieved his goal: the commission assigned the guy to an orphanage. Frost was in no hurry with the implementation of this Solomon’s decision.

The war turned the whole way of life upside down. An order came from Grodno: to organize a fighter detachment to catch German saboteurs and paratroopers. Tkachuk rushed to collect teachers, traveled to six schools, and by lunchtime he was already in the district committee. But the leadership drove away with all their belongings to Minsk. The Germans were advancing, but the retreating Soviet troops were nowhere to be seen.

On the third day of the war, on Wednesday, the Germans were already in Selce. Tkachuk and two other teachers barely managed to hide in the forest. They expected that our Germans would be driven out in two weeks. If someone said that the war would drag on for four years, they would consider him a provocateur. And then it turned out that many people were not only not inclined to resist the invaders, but also willingly go to serve the Germans.

The teachers met a group of encircled men led by the Kuban Cossack Seleznev, a cavalry major. We dug in in the Wolf’s holes and began to prepare for the winter. There were almost no weapons. Prosecutor Sivak also joined the detachment. Here he was already an ordinary. At the council, it was decided that it was necessary to establish contacts with the villages, with reliable people, «to feel the encirclement on the farms, who fled from the units and attached themselves to the young women.» The major sent out all the locals, whoever where.

Tkachuk and Sivak decided to go to the village, where the prosecutor had an acquaintance of an activist. Ales grinned sourly and began to say that we would not teach — the Germans would fool him. And he did not humanize these guys for two years, so that they are now dehumanized. They called the prosecutor. We talked frankly about everything. It became clear that Frost was smarter than the others. He took wider with his mind. Even the prosecutor understood this. They decided that Moroz would stay in the village and inform the partisans about the intentions of the Nazis.

The teacher turned out to be an indispensable assistant. In addition, the villagers also respected him. Frost slowly listened to the radio. He will write down the reports of the Soviet Information Bureau, for which there was the greatest demand, distribute it among the population and transfer it to the detachment. Twice a week, the boys put notes in a nest box hanging on a pine tree by the forest gatehouse, and at night partisans took them away. We sat in our pits in December — everything was covered with snow, it was cold, it was hard to eat, and only joy that this was Morozov’s mail. Especially when the Germans were defeated near Moscow.

At first everything went well with Frost. The Germans and policemen did not pester, they watched from a distance. The only thing that hung like a stone on his conscience was the fate of those two twins. At the beginning of June 1941, Frost persuaded their mother, a fearful village woman, to send her daughters to a pioneer camp. As soon as they left, and then the war. And so the girls disappeared.

One of the two local policemen, a former acquaintance of the prosecutor Lavchen, sometimes helped the villagers and partisans, warning about raids. In the winter of 1943, the Germans shot him. But the second one turned out to be the last bastard. In the villages he was called Cain. He brought many troubles to people. Before the war, he lived with his father on a farm, he was young, unmarried — a guy like a guy. But the Germans came, and man was reborn. Probably, in some conditions, one part of the character is revealed, and in others, another. There was something vile in this Cain before the war, and maybe it wouldn’t have come out. And here it is. He served the Germans with zeal. Shot, raped, robbed. He mocked the Jews. And Cain suspected something about Frost. One day the police raided the school. Classes were just going on there — about twenty children in one room at two long tables. Cain bursts in, with him two more and a German — an officer from the commandant’s office. They shook the student bags, checked the books. Nothing was found. Only the teacher was interrogated. Then the guys, led by Borodich, thought of something. They hid even from the Frost. Once, however, Borodich, as if by the way, hinted that it would be nice to hit Cain. There is a possibility. Frost forbade it, but Borodich did not think to part with these thoughts.

Pavel Miklashevich was then fifteen years old. Kolya Borodich was the oldest, he was eighteen. There are also Kozhany brothers — Timka and Ostap, namesakes Smurny Nikolai and Smurny Andrey, six in all. The youngest, Smurny Nikolai, was thirteen years old. This company has always stuck together. They had more than enough stupidity and courage, but dexterity and intelligence were just barely enough. They thought for a long time, and finally developed a plan.

Cain often visited his father at the farm, across the field from the village. There he drank and played with the girls. One rarely came, more often with other policemen, and even with the German authorities. In the first winter they behaved insolently, they were not afraid of anything. Everything happened out of the blue. Spring has already come, and snow has fallen from the fields. By that time, Tkachuk had become the commissar of the detachment. Early in the morning he was awakened by a sentry. He said that some lame man was detained. Frost was introduced into the dugout. It turned out that Borodich finally got his way: the guys waylaid Cain. A few days ago, he drove up to his father in a German car with a sergeant major, a soldier and two policemen. They spent the night there. Before that, we drove into the village, took the pigs, grabbed a dozen chickens from huts. On the road, not far from the intersection with the highway, a small footbridge was thrown over the ravine. Two meters to the water, even though the water is knee-deep. A steep descent led to the bridge, and then an ascent, so the car or cart had to accelerate, otherwise you wouldn’t get out on the ascent. The boys took this into account. As it got dark, all six with axes and saws — to this bridge. They sawed the poles in half so that a person or a horse could cross, but a car could not. Two — Borodich and Smury Nikolai remained to observe, and the rest were sent home.

Frost was left in the detachment. He walked as if immersed in water. A couple more days passed. And suddenly Ulyana ran into the forest — a messenger from the forest cordon. She was allowed to come only in the most extreme case. The Germans demanded that Moroz be handed over, otherwise they threatened to hang the guys. At night, their mothers ran up to Ulyana, asking by Christ God: «Ulyana, help me.» She answered: “How should I know where that Frost is?” And they: “Go, let him save the boys. He’s smart, he’s their teacher.»

Lead along the same road, across the footbridge. Frost and Pavlik are in front, followed by the Kozhany twins, then the Smurny namesakes. Behind two policemen dragged Borodich. There were seven policemen and four Germans. Nobody was allowed to talk. Everyone’s hands were tied behind. And around are places familiar from childhood. Miklashevich recalled that such anguish attacked him, even scream. It is understandable. Boys are fourteen or sixteen years old. What did they see in this life?

It ended up that Tkachuk called Ksendzov a «brainless fool» and demanded to stop the car. The driver began to slow down. The journalist tried to stop him. Tkachuk threw out a few more phrases to the effect that people like Ksendzov are dangerous because everything is clear to them ahead of time. But you can’t live like that. Life is millions of situations, millions of characters and destinies. They cannot be squeezed into two or three common schemes in order to reduce the hassle. Frost did more than if he had killed a hundred Germans. He put his life on the block voluntarily. There is neither Moroz nor Miklashevich. But Timofey Tkachuk is still alive! And he won’t be silent anymore. He will tell everyone about Frost’s feat.

How to complete the Destiny 2 basic information task

Complete the Destiny 2 Base Information Challenge as part of the Warden Boss Battle Encounter to have the apprentice take on an additional loot raid. This encounter has a lot of moving parts as is where players have to stun the guardian as well as collect glyphs to enter them onto the obelisk, so the base info definitely makes things a bit tricky. However, with this guide, you’ll have everything you need to get you and your RAID team through Destiny 2’s basic information in an apprentice’s oath meeting.

Destiny 2 Base Information Raid Challenge Your team has only ever collected and entered Obelisk symbols one at a time. If you have already made an appointment with the caretaker, you will learn that a couple of players need to be brought into the dark room in order to collect the symbols. Typically, these players would collect a maximum of three and then work together to quickly take down all three in the Obelisk, but for a challenge, they can only ever pick up one glyph for each trip to the room of darkness. This challenge isn’t overly difficult, but definitely requires good control of the Darkness Penetration Deback to avoid death, and great Staggers to buy as much time as possible.

If one of the players collecting the symbol accidentally picks up the second symbol, you will immediately receive a «call failed» message and you will need to destroy to give the encounter and challenge another shot . However, if you succeed on all floors of the caretaker and then defeat him, he will be ready to open bonus loot for you, which gives you an additional Oath of Apprentice Equipment.

The basic information challenge doesn’t really add anything to the encounter, but it will make things slower and require all players to play their roles as flawlessly as possible. Stick to your regular uploads and make sure your communication is good. Also remember that you will need to complete these steps for every floor of the boss fight, with the exception of the «last stand» phase at the end. Here is a step by step guide on how to start a caretaker meeting to complete the basic information task:

Here’s how the team is divided in this example encounter: players 1 and 2 are symbol collectors, players 3 and 4 are stun stuns, and players 5 and 6 clear enemies.
Player 1 will start the encounter by shooting through the door and colliding into the room of darkness — you get stacks of penetrating darkness of the debut in the dark in rooms of darkness, so speed is key.
Player 1 will take the first symbol they see and run out of the dark room into the Obelisk. It is imperative that Player 2 occasionally shoot the door switch to keep the door open for Player 1 to fight.
The obelisk will ask for an offer from player 1, so they need to find the symbol on the obelisk that matches what they picked up and shoot it. It should light up the orange and then the obelisk will accept the offer.
At the same time, player 2 will run into the dark room to do the same — take the symbol, run out into the room while player 1 shoots the switch.
Player 2 will now have to remove their symbol from the obelisk when asking for an offer, and player 1 will return to the dark room to collect the symbol, and so on.
While this is happening, players 3 and 4 will be responsible for stunning the caretaker by shooting in the face and back after he makes an attack. These players need to constantly stun the caretaker in order to buy players 1 and 2 as much time as possible.
Players 5 and 6 must eliminate all taken and scorned enemies that appear to protect all other players. Eliminating followers with scorn is especially important, as they will shoot the obelisk and cut down on the amount of time that players 1 and 2 have to enter all symbols.
Once players 1 and 2 have entered all nine symbols on the obelisk correctly, leaving it blank, the encounter will enter the damage phase.
After the damage phase, go up the stairs to the next floor and repeat the process until you get the caretaker into his last stand phase. You must defeat the guardian here, otherwise you’ll blow everything out and have to start it all, including the task.

While the basic information isn’t overly complex, it’s very easy to fail. Mainly that it can be pretty easy to randomly pick up an extra character, especially in the first room of darkness due to how densely packed it is. Be careful when running through each room and take care not to turn the corners into a symbol or brush too close to one — use the symbols’ orange glow as a sign to avoid the area. You’ll also want to keep an eye on how the glyphs in the rooms of darkness move around as they seem to change positions after the glyph of the obbelisk is taken down. We failed due to a challenge attempt due to the glyph spawning right in front of the player when they were avoiding the room of darkness, so watch out!
