Nashandra | Dark Souls 2 Wiki

Nashandra is a Boss and NPC in Dark Souls 2.

Overview

Queen Regent of Drangleic, who takes her monstrous form immediately after the player defeats the Throne Watcher and Throne Defender boss. She wields a scythe and uses dark magic against the player. Most of her attacks have the potential to kill in one hit. She also summons wisps that will curse you similarly to the Cursed Vessel in the Shaded Woods, though they are much faster and can directly damage you. They can be destroyed with any attack.

Nashandra can also be encountered at Drangleic Castle as an NPC, guiding you to seek the Ancient Dragon and the Giants.

Encounters

Drangleic Castle. Encountered in human form sitting in a faraway throne, right before the dual Dragonrider boss fight arena. Disappears after obtaining the Giant’s Kinship.

Throne of Want. To access Nashandra, you need to have defeated Throne Watcher and Throne Defender and obtained the Giant’s Kinship and the King’s Ring.

Description

Counter Measures

Dark Nova Nashandra charges and releases an explosion of darkness, damaging and knocking back all who are around her.
Hint: She uses this move around 50% HP.
Back away as soon as you see her charging the dark energy.
Vertical Dark Laser Nashandra lifts her hand and releases a laser which starts near her and ends far from her in a straight line. Easy to dodge (best to roll away right before she uses it). Can be blocked but will likely kill you with a 2nd hit due to the stamina drain.
Horizontal Dark Laser Nashandra lifts her hand and releases a laser that moves horizontally covering 1/4 of the area.
As of the new patch, this move is much faster than before but can be blocked.
It’s possible to block the laser, but it drains a lot of stamina.
The laser is pointed into the ground, so you can back away from it.
If you’re more or less close to Nashandra, it’s not difficult to roll under the laser.
Scythe Swing Nashandra swings with her scythe once, usually if you’re not directly in front of her, but to her sides.
Nashandra can also swing twice slowly then swing again after a second.
Can be dodged and blocked.
Plunge Nashandra strikes once and hits the ground with her scythe, as if she’s stuck, this helps you land some attacks. Can be dodged and blocked.
Lifedrain Patch Nashandra projects a few orbs that inflict curse and also drain HP continuously if you’re close to them. You can break the orbs with weapons or spells. Ranged attacks are preferable.
As the arena is quite large, you can simply move away from the orbs and wait until Nashandra comes closer, out of the orbs’ range. She barely moves if you’re close so it’s a good strategy, especially with fist weapons (which can’t break the orbs)[Caestus, at least, can break the orbs — confirmed on a power stance dual Caestus run. Bone Fist also breaks the orbs with ease, at least with the 1-handed running attack].

Strategies

Basic Notes

  • Attacking the grey wisps the boss summons will make them disappear, but it may also cause Curse buildup, which will cause you to lose HP. That being said, it’s a good idea to at least kill the one nearest the door when you enter, in order to give yourself some room to attack.
  • Wait for her to swing, then dodge. An easy way to do this is to roll toward her scythe; it will pass over you and land in front of her, which allows you to attack her.
  • You can summon NPCs for this fight; in SotFS, there are 5 available NPCs to choose from, but you can only have a max of 3 with you at once. Using NPCS will allow you to stand back and shoot her with a bow; this can be time consuming, however, and the summons will likely die before she does. The available summons are:
    • Benhart of Jugo. Found to the left of the boss fog. Only available if you’ve progressed his quest.
    • Head of Vengarl. Found to the right of the boss fog. Only available if you completed his quest.
    • Bashful Ray (SotFS). Found in the Ruin Sentinels/Stone Soldiers room, near one of the golems in the back.
    • Pilgrim Bellclaire (SotFS). Found outside of the Dragonrider’s boss room. It is advised to clear the path between this room and Nashandra’s before bringing him down.
    • Bradley of the Old Guard (SotFS). Found to the left of the fog gate only if you’ve progressed to the point where Aldia is set up to be the final boss.
  • It may be worth keeping your Human Effigies in the hotbar as they can restore your cursed health mid-fight. You’ll need space to use it, plus a healing item afterward.
  • The Dark Pyromancy Flame seems to be effective, as the more Hollow you are the more powerful it gets. At full upgrade, 2 Flame Swaths can drain a significant amount of her health.

NPCs + Items Strategy

Another simple strategy that works for all builds is to wear the Ring of Restoration, Ring of Binding, Dark Quartz Ring (or Dispelling Ring) & Cursebite Ring and buy at least 20 Lifegems  from Melentia and 30 Holy Waters in the Blue Cathedral. When the battle starts, simply strafe around her once you are able to target her, but watch out about the holes on the platforms if you get too far back.

Destroy the two closest curse constructs and run directly in front of her (continue holding forward running into her). If you are close enough her attacks go right over your head and you can swing away while your NPCs attack. A great club +10 with lighting resin added. This will do about 600+ attack on NG and kill her rather quickly. Use stamina recovery items to make its faster.

Don’t worry about her dark energy constructs and their curse status because you are going to be using the Lifegems to immunize yourself against the curse drain; use a Lifegem as soon as you get cursed and after her next attack use another; between the Lifegems and the Ring of Restoration your health will be fine and you can use the Holy Water to keep out of range while using a good shield or simply use your regular attack strategy while strafing. Don’t forget to pop a lifegem every 20 seconds for the curse damage or in case she hits you with an attack so you don’t have to stop to use your Estus flask.

Ranged Strategy (Solo)

I stayed along the outer perimeter shooting Fire Arrows at her, unlocked, with the Hunter’s Blackbow +10. The distance baited Nashandra to use her laser attack almost exclusively. Dodge that by simply moving clockwise or counter-clockwise out of the way and then firing more arrows. Once or twice I would kill a curse wisp if it was in my path, but if you use the tip above for negating curse effects you don’t have to concern yourself with them. The person above who said using bow is time-consuming is not accurate. I made short work of her with a couple dozen fire arrows. Never took a hit, never was in any danger. I’ve since replicated this on my second character. By moving slowly around the edge of the field, you basically limit her moves to one (the laser attack) and it’s laughably slow and predictable.

Ranged Strategy (NPCs)

The Range strategy is probably the easiest way to beat the Last Boss. As said above, by distancing yourself from her, she is limited to the laser beam attack. The laser beam attacks in two ways. If one stays still, it will shoot directly and slowly climb upwards. If one walks around her, the laser will start to follow you slowly. My build is a Bandit, with a Dragonslayer Bow +5, and around 200 Lightning Arrows (bought it from Chancellor in Drangleic). Before the fight, it is advised to summon the two phantoms that are provided before the boss battle. If you let the two phantoms fight her alone, you should have enough time to take quick shots at her hp before both of them dies. I have gotten her HP down by over a half thanks to them. Once your phantoms are dead, try to strafe around her and try your best to avoid the wisp, and take several shots at her once she tries to summon more wisp. It took me around 1-3 mins, and probably used up around 50 or so arrows to finish her off.

Miracles + Lightning Spear

Miracles and Lightning Spears: I used a maxed-out Dragon Chime with Lightning infusion and I destroyed her in about 5-6 hits with Greater Lighting Spear and Sunlight Spear. (With 50 Faith and a +5 Lightning Dragon Chime, it took me 14 Great Lightning Spears, while Benhart and Vengarl kept her occupied, The entire fight took less than a minute. — MultiracialLion)

I was able to defeat this boss by baiting her into firing her laser, running in and casting Firestorm right on her. Firestorm would damage her a few times, I would dodge backward to avoid her attacks, bait the laser attack, and repeat. After using 4 Firestorms, finished her off with two Flame Swathes. As for the curse clouds, I would destroy one or two just to give myself room to bait the attack.

Pyromancy + Gower’s Ring

Easy Pyromancy + Gower’s Ring Strategy: Before entering the fog I popped 4 regular lifegems to negate most of the health drain inflicted by curse. I used my Dark Pyromancy Flame +10 and made sure to have Gower’s Ring of Protection equipped (I have 30/30 INT/FAI). Upon entering the fog I immediately ran right up towards Nashandra, turned my back to her (IMPORTANT so that Gowers ring works), and unleashed 2 casts of Chaos Storm which took her to a little over quarter health. By this time she had set up her curse clouds and began whacking me with her scythe. Gowers ring negated all damage from her sword and the lifegems were doing a good job of negating the curse damage. I then cast fire Tempest twice to finish her off (after one cast she was all but dead the second was safer than turning to face her to use any other attack). It was all over in seconds. You just have to make sure you keep your back to her so her attacks do no damage thanks to Gowers ring. Nice and easy.

Hints

  • You do NOT have to fight the Throne Defender, Throne Watcher, Nashandra, and Aldia, Scholar of the First Sin back to back. It is possible to use a homeward bone or feather IMMEDIATELY after the Throne Watcher and Defender battle ends (it helps to have it on your quick-slots). It worked for me, the Nashandra cinematic played, but as soon as it ended, I was back at the bonfire.
  • If you defeat Throne Watcher and Throne Defender before the Giant Lord, an alternate cutscene will trigger where Nashandra is already waiting in the boss room for the player, however, the cutscene dialogue is still the same.
  • Great Lightning Spear works really well just stay at a safe distance and use gear that allows faster casting, Should defeat her in a matter of minutes.
  • Using Ceastus during this fight can prove difficult, as they are unable to hit the cursed orbs to dispel them.
  • Using the Rebel’s Greatshield with the Dark infusion is immensely helpful for anyone that has it, for it has 100% dark negation and will completely nullify her laser and nova attacks.
  • She shares similar moveset to Darklurker.

Dialogue

  • — When met in human form at Drangleic Castle
    • You have fought admirably on your journey, cursed Undead.
I am Nashandra, Queen of Drangleic.
A true monarch carries the weight of their souls.
The last king of this land, King Vendrick, as he was called…
He was less of a king than you might imagine.
He found the strength to rule his people, and when the Undead were born, cursed…
He found more strength, to face them.
But in the end, he never took the true throne.
  • — When talking a second time during the first encounter
    • Visit Vendrick.
We have no need for two rulers…
  • — When coming back and talking after the first encounter, having not activated other triggers
  • — When talking after killing or just visiting Vendrick
    • Drangleic is no longer.
  • — When talking after obtaining the King’s Ring
    • Brave Undead, seek the throne.
Follow the symbol of the monarch, and do what must be done.
  • — When talking after meeting the Ancient Dragon
    • Brave Undead, what did that dragon tell you?
That thing is a prop, a false deity. Don’t be fooled, my Undead.
  • — When talking while the Ashen Mist Heart is in inventory
    • Seek the forest, you, where those wretched Giants slumber.
  • — Boss introduction cutscene
    • Brave Undead,
you have proven yourself to me.
Now, be one, with the Dark…

Trivia

  • According to the official guidebook, she is in fact Manus, or technically, a fragment of various reincarnated Manus.
  • By using the sky-walking glitch, you can get to Nashandra on her throne in Drangleic Castle. Hitting her with a melee weapon makes her laugh at you. After three hits, she will start to stand up, but disappear. (You can see the same effect without glitches if you shoot her with a Hunter’s Blackbow or Sea Bow while a Hawk Ring is equipped. )
  • Nashandra is voiced by Harriet Kemsley, a comedy actress.

Location[]

Drangleic Castle, before the acquisition of the Giant’s Kinship, Nashandra can be found in the throne room right before the Dragonrider duo boss.

Throne of Want, after defeating the Throne Watcher and Defender, and having the Giant’s Kinship in the player’s possession. The King’s Ring is also required to open the King’s Gate that leads to Nashandra.

Description[]

A tall humanoid creature wielding a long scythe in her right hand. Her left hand emanates a purple light that can become an energy beam or cause an explosion when she puts it near her chest. Her legs are covered by a skirt made of a black goo filled with bones. She can also summon four black fountains that curse those who stand near them. She can speak and can change into a more human, yet still gigantic, form.

Lore[]

Nashandra began her life as a small fragment of Manus, Father of the Abyss. When Manus was defeated, he was reborn as many fragments varying in sizes. Nashandra was the smallest fragment, and because of this, it was the first to become conscious. Nashandra was the incarnation of her «father’s» want, and thus began desiring what she did not have; power.

Nashandra traveled to the land of Drangleic, and set her sights on its powerful ruler, King Vendrick. Deciding to seduce Vendrick, Nashandra assumed a human form of unparalleled beauty and warned him of a supposed looming threat beyond the sea: the Giants. She convinced him to invade the land of the giants to claim their power, which Vendrick did successfully. Vendrick then made Nashandra his queen, and under their leadership, Drangleic entered into a Dark-like peace. The rulership of Drangleic however, was not enough to quell Nashandra’s want, and she desired an even greater power: the First Flame, which she intended to claim for herself by using Vendrick and the Throne of Want.

When Drangleic was ravaged by the second war with the giants and the spread of the Undead Curse, Vendrick came to realize the true nature and identity of Nashandra, and what she had coveted all along. Knowing that his time was short and that his queen had to be stopped, Vendrick created several impasses that would prevent Nashandra from seizing the throne, and sealed himself away in the Undead Crypt. This left Nashandra the sole ruler of Drangleic, albeit without much left to rule at all, as the kingdom had been all but destroyed.

Left without a king and with no means to claim the Throne of Want, Nashandra’s plans were stalled until the arrival of the Bearer of the Curse, an undead powerful enough to defeat the Four Old Ones and gain access to Drangleic Castle. Nashandra manipulated the Bearer of the Curse into opening the way to the Throne of Want by aiding them in seizing the Throne of Want. She directs the Bearer of the Curse toward the Undead Crypt, suggesting that they put an end to the now-hollowed King Vendrick and claim his ring. She then directs the Bearer of the Curse to journey to Aldia’s Keep to acquire the Ashen Mist Heart, and warns them that the Ancient Dragon there is no more than a prop and a false deity. At last, she directs the Bearer of the Curse toward the Forest of Fallen Giants to visit the memories of the Giants and obtain the last key to the Throne: the Giant’s Kinship.

Once the Bearer of the Curse has finally cleared the way to the Throne and acquired the means to access it, Nashandra will intercept them and reveal her true form. She then declares the Bearer of the Curse worthy to assume her intended role for Vendrick, to have their power usurped by her so she can claim the throne for herself.

The Bearer of the Curse has grown too strong however, and Nashandra falls at their hand.

Strategy[]

Nashandra specializes in dark magic and will immediately summon four Curse-inducing «fountains» once the battle starts. She has two methods of attack in addition to inflicting Curse on your character and eating away at their health:

Scythe: She will swing her scythe sideways one, two, or three times (the third having a slightly longer windup and dealing heavy stamina damage on block), or do an overhead swing with a long recovery time. Her scythe swings can easily stagger characters with low adaptability and poise. Rolling diagonally backwards is the most effective way at dodging both of these attacks when close to her.

Dark Magic: She will either fire a beam that starts on the floor close to her and emits outward from the floor vertically, which can easily be avoided by strafing, or execute a small area of effect attack similar to Wrath of the Gods. If she begins casting and her body is not being covered in dark energy, then she will use the beam; otherwise, it is the area-of-effect attack and you must back away. If you look closely, you will also notice that her hand movement is different for each attack (she draws her hand close to her chest when using Wrath of the Gods). She also has another type of beam which sweeps horizontally, so be aware of the direction of the beams as these beams are usually fatal when combined with the health drain.

For melee characters it is also possible to equip light armor and dodge her attacks, ignoring the Curse buildup and only healing when your health starts draining. Also a good method for melee users is to wait at a distance for her to come towards the player, baiting her away from the four curse fountains. The curse fountains can be broken, stopping the curse buildup and health drain.

Summoning help will make the fight easier, even if it’s only the two characters Vengarl of Forossa and Benhart of Jugo, as they will draw attention, leaving you with a good amount of room to deal damage and heal as needed.

An effective strategy if one has pyromancies is to stay far away until she fires her vertical «laser», then simply lobbing flame attacks at her.

Attacks[]

  • Curse Fountains: Summons several white fountains that build up your curse meter. They can be destroyed by a single strike or by a roll.
  • Laser Beam: Her hand fills with darkness and fires a beam at the player. Can be either an easily dodged vertical, or a sweeping shot much like the Duke’s Dear Freja. (Can be dodged by rolling backwards; Just be wary of the holes in the arena.)
  • Dark Explosion: Her hand fills with darkness and she brings it closer to her chest. Once her whole body begins to emanate darkness, she releases an area of effect dark attack, similar to Wrath of the Gods.
  • Overhead Strike: Performs an overhead attack with her scythe. Easily dodged.
  • Swings: Swings her scythe twice in a row.

Notes[]

  • Throwing a Holy Water Urn at the right positioning, angle and time, will freeze Nashandra completely due to a glitch, making the fight very easy.
  • If the player has obtained the Giant’s Kinship before defeating the Throne Watcher and Defender, then Nashandra’s cutscene will trigger as soon as they are defeated and the fight with her will begin immediately.
    • This cutscene will be slightly different from obtaining the Kinship after defeating the Throne Watcher and Defender. Obtaining the Kinship beforehand will cause Nashandra to enter the arena through the fog gate. Obtaining the Kinship after the first boss fight will cause Nashandra to already be waiting inside the arena. The cutscene will also play in this manner if the player dies while fighting her, when reentering the arena after respawning.
  • Any summoned characters or players who survived the fight between the Throne Watcher and Defender will stay with the host to defeat Nashandra; however, they will not receive two rewards (Token of Fidelity or Sunlight Medal).
  • By burning a Bonfire Ascetic on the King’s Gate bonfire in Drangleic Castle, Nashandra can be respawned.
  • Wearing the Black Witch Veil, Hollow Skin, or any of the four crowns already infused with Vendrick’s blessing will grant immunity to Curse; however, the player will still take continual damage whenever near the curse fountains.

Nashandra is the final boss in Dark Souls II.

Nashandra is a small fragment of the soul of Manus, the Father of the Abyss. Many years ago after his defeat, his soul was split into several tiny fragments, some of which took shape.

Plot

The queen who brought the kingdom of Drangleic to fall. Nashandra tricked Vendrick into marching to the giants’ lands, informing them of a future giant invasion and a «gift» the giants kept in their land. nine0066

The first encounter will take place in Drangleic Castle before the fight with the two Dragon Riders. She will talk a little about Vendrick and ask you to «pay him a visit», referring to the fact that «we don’t need two rulers» . If you talk to her after talking with the Ancient Dragon, she will say that all his words are lies.

Is the smallest piece of Manus’s soul. This part yearned for the former power and materialized into a humanoid creature. Everything that happens in Drangleic is the fault of her irrepressible lust for power. Her ultimate goal is to capture the Throne of Desire, but since Vendrick, Velstadt, and the Guardian with the Throne Defender have blocked her path with many obstacles that she cannot overcome due to her nature, she uses the player to achieve her goal. nine0066

Attacks

  • Geysers of curse is the first thing Nashandra will do at the beginning of the battle. They will reduce your health and fill your curse bar very quickly. Geysers do not move, and where they appear there they will be, they can also be removed with a normal blow or roll through them. If the fight drags out, the action of the geysers will end, but Nashandra will create them again.
  • Orbs of Corruption — casts at a long distance. They can be blocked, but they will definitely drain your entire stamina bar and leave you open to her attacks. nine0083
  • Beam of Corruption — casts at a medium distance, you can easily roll from it.
  • Explosion is a very dangerous attack, it is used at close range if you spin near it for a long time. High damage, charges for a long time and therefore it is better to run away.
  • In close combat, Nashandra uses her scythe — it is easy to block, you can easily dodge, and then attack the boss.

Tactics

  • The battle takes place in the same hall where the Protector and the Guardian of the Throne were. Before the start of the battle, it is recommended to eat Dark Pills, put on the Quartz Ring of Darkness, since Nashandra often uses corruption spells. It is better to first kill the previous bosses before getting the Kind of Giants, because if you got it, then immediately after them comes she. nine0083
  • Ranged: You can kill her with magic or with a bow, since all ranged attacks are predictable and easy to dodge. Care must be taken not to fall off the arena and not get too close to the geysers.
  • If you prefer close combat and are quite mobile, you can use the following tactic: throughout the fight you need to keep a distance from Nashandra, thereby provoking her to ranged magical attacks (they are easy to recognize). As soon as she attacks, you need to dodge and, running up to her, inflict a couple of blows, then run back again and provoke a long-range attack, etc. With the right weapon and good stats, it’s very easy to win a fight with this tactic. nine0083
  • The fight can be a little easier if you first get Hollow Skin in the DLC, which grants complete immunity to curses, or Veil of the Black Witch. Humanity will not be lost, but health from curse geysers will decrease. Or, as an option, get all 4 crowns and improve them in the Memory of the King — the effect for all crowns will become the same as for the Hollow Skin, besides, after death, you will not turn into a Hollow.
  • Also, using Ring of the Cursed Bite in combination with the Unwavering miracle completely prevents the curse bar from filling up. nine0083
  • If you’re a melee character, it’s better to dodge rather than block to avoid the boss’s curses as much as possible.

Notes

  • Vulnerable to lightning and fire.
  • All of Nashandra’s attacks fill a bar of curse, which, however, quickly disappears.
  • Her portrait hangs in Drangleic Castle. If you approach him, then he imposes a curse.
  • After the first conversation with Nashandra in Drangleic Castle, a bonus will open: in the Bonfire menu, those bonfires that you have not yet opened will be visible. But the names of undiscovered locations and bonfires will be kept secret. nine0083
  • Benhart from Jugo and Vengarl can be called to fight with her (the signs of the call are located near the entrance to the arena).
  • According to the Emerald Herald, the queen wants to get to the First Flame and get the Great Soul.
  • Nashandra’s human form is very similar to Princess Dawn.
  • At the first encounter, if you attack her long enough with a ranged weapon, she angrily rises from her throne and disappears.
  • There are two cut-scenes before the fight with Nashandra. The first, when the fight with her takes place immediately after the fight with the Protector and the Warden of the throne. The second, if the giant’s clan was mined later, and the guards of the throne have already been killed. Nashandra (in human form) disappears from the throne room of the castle, where she previously talked with the protagonist. nine0083
  • You can watch both cut-scenes if you leave the Protector and the Warden of the Throne in the end, and lose in the fight with Nashandra, or simply use the bone of return or the feather at the very beginning of the fight with her, right after the cut-scene.
  • After killing the boss, you can continue to play in the current NG, because after the credits end, you will appear in Majula, and the transition to a new game is carried out by the corresponding option in the campfire menu.
  • If at the moment between the death of the two previous bosses and the appearance of Nashandra, you throw a bomb or holy water at her (the swing of the hand should already pass and the projectile should already fly to the place where she appears, and a cut-scene should start here), her next the script will glitch and not detect that there is a protagonist in the room, which will keep her standing still and unresponsive to attacks, but her health bar will work as usual. nine0083
  • Interestingly, Vendrik of the King’s Memory doesn’t think Nashandra is evil. According to him, Darkness is a natural product of Light (First Flame) and the true king of people must conquer both. Only in this way will people attain true greatness. An attempt to fight the Darkness is meaningless and only leads to a curse. True, as Vendrick admits, he realized this only after losing everything.
  • After the release of Scholar of the First Sin, as well as a patch for the regular edition, became the penultimate boss. The last one is now Aldia, the scientist of Original Sin (for the boss to appear after Nashandra , killing Vendrick is a prerequisite. And no matter how you answer his questions during meetings — «yes» or «no», the boss will appear anyway).
  • Her portrait is present in 3 parts — in the location of Irithyll of the Cold Valley, in the large hall next to the kitchen, where you can meet Sigvard.

Nashandra: Dark Souls 2 / Dark Souls 2

So, the royal throne of desire. And by the way, judging by the scenery, we can say that this place is very similar to the Crucible of the First Flame from the first part. Considering that the Throne of Desires also gives access to the First Flame, everything fits together. nine0066

After Vendrik, no one has yet been able to take the Throne of Desire, but apparently there are those who wish. The legal wife of Vendrik and the queen of Drangleic is Nashandra. But it turned out that she was not a person, but the embodiment of Darkness. To be more precise, the reincarnation of a fragment of the Soul of Manus the Father of the Abyss. Before meeting her, Vendrik was a decent king, but then this person appeared, got into trust, tricked Vendrik into attacking the lands of the giants, stealing their treasure and began to poison the king’s mind in every possible way. And in the end it broke. But, apparently, Vendrik began to assume something was wrong and set up protection in his possessions and fenced his precious throne with a particularly strong firewall: so that only a real hero who deserved the title of king could bypass all his obstacles. nine0066

Nashandra, by virtue of her nature, could not become a king in any way and therefore she was waiting for the next fool, thirsting for glory, greatness and the crown. To get to the throne with his help. And here I appear… and even with a crown 🙂 By the way, a good thing for those who use magic.

If we haven’t defeated the Protector and the Warden of the Throne yet, then we’ll have to go through this obstacle first and only then we’ll meet the final boss. I’ve already done everything in advance, so Nashandra is waiting beyond the fog.

You can call three phantoms at once to fight with her. This is Benhart from Jugo. His sign will be here even if we have never spoken to him in the whole game. Chief Vengarl — you need to talk to him in Darkwood. And the third sign available only in the reissue — Bradley Guard. It will appear if we have a Giant Rod.

Further, Nashandra is the embodiment of darkness. And so its main strength is dark magic and curses. Therefore, you can greatly facilitate the fight if you put on things that increase resistance to darkness. And take humanity figures into the quick slot: they can come in handy. Of the weapons, it is better to use with lightning or fire: Nashandra will be vulnerable to them. Well, in general, this is not the most difficult boss in the game, so go ahead and with a song. nine0066

All the problems because of her — Nashandra, the king’s wife

We go to the arena to watch the video. Again. The first option was if not to defeat the Defender and Ranger beforehand. In this version, Nashandra is already waiting for us near the door to the cherished throne and says the same thing. The fact is that she is the embodiment of the smallest fragment of the soul of Manus. She is the most disadvantaged and therefore her thirst for power is the most insatiable. Therefore, she really wants to get to the throne and the first flame in order to find a great soul there. And start something like an era of darkness. nine0066

The easiest way to win is to shoot Nashandra with a long-range attack. First, she conjures her cursing fountains. And only during this time you can remove half of her health. Then she begins to let out dark rays: from side to side and straight ahead. But they are very easy to dodge and throw two or three of your spells in response. From direct rays it is enough just to step aside. Yes, for a final boss, she is very, very slow.

And Nashandra obviously expected to fight in close combat, she has such a hefty scythe. Therefore, she will begin to approach and try to mow and chop. You can run from her all over the arena, get close, move away and throw long-range attacks at her. nine0066

Well, you can move on to close combat. Here she managed to hook me with a beam — it is much wider than it seems. And manages to hit twice and impose a curse. Just for this case, I took the human figures in the fast slot. Glad that I will finally come closer, she renews the cursing fountains. Therefore, you can either break them — for this you need to hit the fountain with a sword. Or just move away from them. After that, you can safely restore humanity and health. Well, let’s go again. nine0066

We provoke an attack, dodge and after a series of swings attack in response. She has only two options for attacking with a scythe — or she makes a series of side blows near her: a maximum of three. Or hits with a direct chopping blow to the floor. Still sometimes charged with energy and conjures a powerful sphere of darkness around him. This attack is clearly visible in advance and there is plenty of time to withdraw. And the best option is to provoke her into a long-range attack. While the dark beam shines, you can discharge all stamina into it. And victory! Yes, that’s how easy and fast it is. nine0066

This used to be the end, Soul of Nashandra and the final cutscene. But in the reissue we have to do one more thing. Or rather, two. First you need to listen to Aldia’s nonsense again, and then defeat him himself. The kings he’s talking about are the characters from the expansions, which we’ll get to later.
