Modern Warfare 3 adds five more Prestiges
You read right. Five new Prestige Levels have been added to Modern Warfare 3. What are my thoughts on the matter? Read more to find out.
It has been confirmed by Infinity Ward Community Manager: Robert Bowling Via Twitter. Five new Prestige Modes have been added to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3’s PC version. The same will be happening soon on the Xbox 360, PS3, and possibly the Wii. No information yet on whether or not there will be new Prestige Shop.
There has been a video released on Youtube from a PC gamer. They looked into the files up the update and found the Prestige Icons they may used for these next five prestiges. In addition to that, they’ve found five more prestige icons. People are thinking an additional five prestige levels may be added to Modern Warfare 3 at a later time.
For some time now, Infinity Ward and Treyarch seem to have been fighting over quantity and quality in Call of Duty games. Call of Duty 4 started the whole Prestige Mode and customization, and Call of Duty: World at War followed suit and added ten more levels to each Prestige (65). The next game was Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 where they added five more levels (70 total) and more customization! Many of the fans thought all these levels were a bad idea and took some fun out of the game by crunching in each prestige. Treyarch listened a bit to their fan base and lowered the levels back down to 55, but added five more prestiges, making the total prestige levels 15. Sure, it was easier to get to each prestige, but they didn’t want to turn down the heat completely. Now we’re out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Infinity Ward/Raven Software didn’t hold back at all. They cranked up the levels to 80 and added an option to completely reset your stats once you reached Prestige 10, making 20 Prestiges total in addition to the two non-prestige levels. Now they’ve added five more prestige levels to their 10/20 levels. So, theoretically, if you haven’t used your prestige shop unlock to reset your stats, you could prestige a total of 30 times in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3! I have no idea who would want to play that game so much, but I stopped playing after the first prestige.
Some of you know how I’ve played all of the Call of Duty games and a few other shooters online. I realized a long time ago that this was not a fun way to play the game. It’s nice to unlock weapons and stuff while you rank up, but sometimes it takes forever to rank up and unlock an average – below average gun that you’d never use. Meanwhile, everyone is still using the very first default gun you had available throughout the levels. I believe you should be able to choose which ever weapon you want from the start. Then, you can choose another weapon to unlock when you earn another weapon unlock. Crysis 2 did this very well.
As for all the levels and prestiges, I don’t like that at all. I think a decent amount of levels would be just fine. More importantly are the level names. It irks me so bad when I crunch and crunch to get from level 51 to 52 which is Colonel I to Colonel II. It feels like I didn’t really accomplish anything! I believe there should be one level for each rank they use. One level for private, one level for warrant officer, one level for colonel. Sure, it can take longer to rank up while a colonel as opposed to a private, but it feels like you accomplished something when you actually get to the next rank. Unlocking something on each rank is another thing that should always be done. It gives a greater feeling of accomplishment. When we’re talking about prestige mode, I’m a bit undecided. If you can rank up to max level quickly, then prestige would be fine. Still, so many prestige levels are pretty lame in my personal opinion. I know it can separate the die hard Call of Duty fans, who play nothing but Call of Duty all day every day, from the rest of us, but do you really want to be marked for that?

The Prestige Shop is unlocked after Prestiging for the first time. After you reach rank 80, you can reset your rank by Prestiging, but each time you Prestige in MW3, you will receive one token that you can use to unlock Prestige Rewards.
If you’ve Prestiged in any of the previous Call of Duty games (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 only), you will automatically receive one bonus token for each CoD game you’ve Prestiged in. You can only receive a maximum of one token per game, regardless of the Prestige Level in that game.

In the shop, you can spend your tokens on the following rewards:
- Extra Custom Class
- Double XP (two hours in-game time)
- Double Weapon XP
- Regular Package (Callsign Title and Emblem)
- Unlock Gear (Choose one item that’s unlocked permanently)
- Hardened Package
- Veteran Package
- Reset All Stats (resets everything, including your Prestige Level)
If you are looking at resetting your player profile stats? please view the video below before proceeding. You will lose all your titles, emblems, weapons & score rank. You will also lose all your prestige tokens (even the tokens from previous COD titles) Only the various game type lobby leader boards will remain, also if you are in a clan? the clan leader board scores will remain also but group leader boards reset.

We all play not only to win the round, but also for high level and exclusive Prestige emblems/titles. After hitting level 80, you can reset the level to zero and go to the next level of prestige, and get not only new pictures and titles, but also one Prestige Token. This token can be used to purchase bonuses for the game: an increase in class slots, early access to weapons, and a unique title with an emblem. nine0007
How to level up quickly? Each fight gives us experience. Experience for killing players, destroying equipment, helping the team. If you win, then the experience increases. But there is another great way to gain experience — tests. In the «Barracks» section, open «Trials» and see how much experience is given for each completed task
Each weapon has its own experience bonuses for completed tests. The biggest ones are 10,000 points.
For example, if you’re playing with an ACR 6.8 assault rifle and have access to a Kalashnikov, don’t rush to grab the latter. Open the Barracks and see if there are very few kills left to get the next bonus for ACR 6.8. Then it makes sense to finish the test and only then take on the next weapon. nine0355 I methodically play several machines until I get the maximum possible bonuses, then I take the next one. I install modules only for pumping. When the tests for the module are completed, I remove it and install the next one.
The «Modules» weapon skill, which allows you to install two modules at the same time, is great for leveling. For example, killing enemies through a holographic sight, we also get kills for a heartbeat sensor or silencer.
Do not chase all the tests. Choose the closest. I never do Headshot tests on purpose. Since the time spent does not correspond to the bonuses received. During the same time, you can get more on the next weapon. Focus on normal kills. nine0007

IMPORTANT POINT!

Weapon.
We will not consider everything. I will describe only a few of the most beloved, and, in my opinion, convenient types of weapons.
I almost always play with assault rifles. Great combination of damage and mobility.
Machine guns are good, but too slow.
I won’t say anything about submachine guns. I played them in COD MW 2, but in this part they somehow don’t inspire me very much. SCAR-L

CM901

ACR 6.8

MK14

Police shield

First slot. Blue skills.
Scout is an interesting perk. «Highlights» on the map anyone who is hit by an explosion. In the pro version — the one you hit with bullets.
Sleight of Hand — Reload and change weapon speed. For an active game — the most useful skill.
Invisibility — invisibility for autoturrets and air vehicles. The upgraded skill gives faster aiming at vehicles, increased bullet damage to sentry guns and drones. nine0355
Extreme training — increases sprint (acceleration) time. An advanced option is an accelerated overcoming of obstacles.
Scavenger — what has fallen is gone! Let the defeated enemy share ammunition, he no longer needs it. Allows you to collect ammo (ammo only) from killed enemies. Pro-option: increased ammo.
Second slot. Red skills.
Cowboy — fast aiming. The pro version reduces the break after using equipment and grenades. nine0355
Impenetrable — resistant to explosions. The pro version increases resistance to blind and stun.
Stubborn — One less kill is required to gain support. The pro version will allow every second help in finishing off the enemy to be counted as a kill.
Killer — we become invisible to UAVs, portable radars, thermal cameras and heart rate sensors. The Pro version gives resistance to EMP and UAV jamming. And if the enemy aims at you, then you will not have a label with a name above you. nine0355
Commando — the ability to carry two main weapons. Pro versions can install two modules on the second weapon.
Third slot. Yellow skills.
Sharp shooter — enemy nickname is displayed from a longer distance.
In the upgraded version, the breath holding time has been increased.
Stalker — allows you not to slow down when aiming.
The pro version gives a delay on the operation of all types of enemy mines. You can hear the sound of a mine triggering, and then walk away from it. nine0355
Messenger — enemy explosive devices and mines are highlighted in red. They can be seen through obstacles. The trap package is also highlighted.
Pro version increases the sound of enemy footsteps.
Steady Hand — Reduces spread when firing from the hip (without a scope). The upgraded version allows you to aim faster after running.
Dead Silence — Reduces footstep noise. The pro version allows you to counter the enemy Scout skill and jump from great heights without taking damage. nine0355
Equipment.
Tactical
From the tactical side, I personally use only the stun grenade. It seems to me better than light, as it limits the enemy in the speed of movement.
I still rarely use active protection. Since I don’t practice camping, I use it to troll the Predator: when the enemy is played by several players who often use Predator missiles, I carry active protection with me and set it as soon as I hear an enemy missile warning. Other tactical gear I don’t find useful for my play style.

The grenade is good in two ways: it can roll into the most inaccessible places (around the corner, for example) and has a detonation delay (this will surprise those who like to throw grenades back).
Semtex — sticks to surfaces and cannot be thrown back. Ideal against the shield: by sticking explosives on the enemy’s shield, you will not leave him a chance. nine0007
Throwing knife — goes well with a shield. Can be repeatedly picked up and thrown again. A small plus is that the knife is able to ricochet, allowing you to kill the enemy with a rebound. But its main property is the ability to throw when you are on the stairs. This is very convenient when the enemy is sitting somewhere in the room. Full climbing into the room is monstrously long for a combat situation. At this moment, you cannot use weapons, so the enemy will write you down without any problems. But if you have a throwing knife, then this significantly increases the chances. nine0007
Jumping «Betty» — useful in that it explodes in all directions and can be thrown into the air. Therefore, it can be installed by simply throwing it out the window. The downside is that the prone enemy takes no damage at all.
