Test Mode

Go to the options menu and move down to done. Press Left, Down, Left, Right, Down, Right, Left, Left, Right, Right. If done correctly, the words «TEST MODE» will appear.

Debug Code

To access the debug menu, go to the START/OPTIONS screen and select the option menu. Put the cursor on «Done!!» and press code Left, Down, Left, Right, Down, Right, Left, Left, Right, Right.

Warp to Shao Kahn

At the Options menu, press A, B, C, C, C, B, B, A, A, A, A. When Shao Kahn appears, quickly press B to go to the final stage.

Play as Smoke

To play as Smoke, you must have a Game Genie. Attach Mortal Kombat 2 to the Game Genie and enter the password: B4MT-BE76. Start the game,then switch to Controller two. Choose your character, and when you go into battle you will be Smoke.

Acid Bath

This tricks works on the «Dead Pool» stage (the one with the green acid in the background.)

When the screen says «Finish Him!», hold Low Punch + Low Kick, press and hold Down, then press High Punch. If you did it right you’ll send your opponent into the acid.

Fergality

To do a fergality, enter Test Mode, then change the background to 6 and enable the «Ooh Nasty» option. Next choose Rayden as your character and finish your opponent with Away, Away, Away, Block.

Pizza Man

Activate Test Mode (see below) and choose NO DAMAGE TO PLAYER 1. Then enter the contest with Shang Tsung. When the guy who says «Toasty» comes out he will resemble a pizza like creature.

Ping Pong

Beat a second player 250 matches in a row and you will be transported to another dimension where the two fighters become ping pong rackets. You and your opponent will then play a brief game of ping pong before being transported back to the normal fighting.

Fight Smoke

On the red portal stage, keep doing upper cuts until Dan «Toasty» Forden (the guy who always says toasty) comes out. Then very quickly, press Down + Start. You will then be able to fight Smoke.

Fight Jade

To fight Jade, make your way to the match before the question mark in the main single game. Defeat your opponent using only the Low Kick button and directional buttons, no other attacks except for Low Kick. If you succeed, Jade will be your next opponent.

Fight Noob Saibot

To fight Noob Saibot the Faceless, win 25 matches in a row and you’ll see the message, «Incredible winning streak! A new warrior awaits you.» After he kicks the stuffing out of you, you can try another 25 in a row and give him another shot. Good luck! [1]

For Arcade

These codes and secrets also work for PC — MAT: DE Version, PSP, PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, XBox, PlayStation and PlayStation 3.

Random Select:

Press Up + Start (Up + LP for PS2, NGC, Xbox) on Liu Kang (For Player One) and on Reptile (For Player Two).

Play Pong:

Finish the game 250 times with one character and in the next game you will play Pong.

Fight Jade:

To find and fight Jade, wait until just before the «?» match in a one-player game. During this match, you must win one round using ONLY the LK and the direction pad. If you did it correctly you will be transported to Goro’s Lair, and you will fight Jade.

Jade occasionally drops down during a match and gives clues on how to reach her. Here is a list of everything that she says.

Fight Smoke:

To reach Smoke, you must fight a match on the Portal stage. This can be done during a one or two player game. As the match progresses, keep your eyes open for MKII’s Sound Designer, Dan Forden. He’ll make a brief appearance in the lower-right corner of the screen and will say «Toasty». While Dan’s face is on the screen, hold Down and press Start. If you did it correctly you will be transported to Goro’s Lair to fight Smoke.

Fight Noob Saibot:

To find and fight Noob Saibot, you must win 50 matches in a row in two-player mode. (You only have to win 25 matches in a row in the Sega Genesis version) If you did that, you will be transported to Goro’s Lair and will fight Noob Saibot there.

Stage Fatality Extras:

Dead Pool: Hold D + BL (D for Sega32X) after Stage Fatality to hear Oh Wow.

Note: This kode does not work on Sega Genesis.

Kombat Tomb: Hold D + BL + Start (D for Sega Genesis, Sega32X) to force the opponent to fall from the spikes after a Stage Fatality.

Disabling Throws:

Press and hold D + HP for both players before the match starts to disable throwing.

Note: This kode does not work on Sega Genesis and Sega 32X.

Top Players:

Press Down while the «Midway Presents…» screen to see the top players list.

Note: Arcade, MAT and PC DOS only.

Secret Messages:

These messages randomly appear after beating the game. They basically serve no purpose, only to fuel the rumors and keep the fans pumping in the quarters.

Cheat Menu:

On the credits screen type «AICULEDSSUL» and on the Akklaim logo press [F9]. The cheat menu will appear.

DIP Switches Menu:

Enter the options menu by pressing [F10]. Now type with capital letters «DIP». The switches menu will appear. Unfortunately no one can tell what these switches do, probably nothing.

Blood On/Off:

Type FIONA on the screen where you can select between «START» and «OPTIONS…» The screen will flash green and turns the blood off. If you type it again the screen will flash red and turns the blood on.

Cheat Menu:

Type WEDZEB in the «OPTIONS» screen and a new option called «DIAGNOSTICS. ..» will appear. Select this option for a list of cheat options (no damage to player, 1 hit kills player etc.)

Diagnostics:
