Monster Hunter Online Game Review

Monster Hunter Online Information

Monster Hunter Online is a 3D free to play Chinese Action MMORPG released in 2013. It has high quality action combat, monsters, a unique weapon system that allows you to customize your playstyle at any time, and one of the best character creators in an MMORPG. It also shares an interconnected universe as all other Monster Hunter games, including Monster Hunter World.

Video Review — Is Monster Hunter Online Worth Playing?

Is Monster Hunter Online Worth Playing in 2018?

I’ve been a fan of the Monster Hunter franchise ever since I played Monster Hunter Tri back in 2010.
There was something about the large open areas. . being able to run around looking for deadly monsters to slay that gripped me.

See, I’m a huge JRPG and FPS fan. I hadn’t played a game like Monster Hunter in the past, so at the time the concept of a game like Monster Hunter was alien to me.
After finally caving and purchasing it however, I found myself disappointed with the fact that it was so instanced.
There weren’t really any towns – there wasn’t really anything outside of the main hub that I could see. That bothered me to no end.

However, after playing the game – actually taking the time to play the game.. I found it was not only challenging, but it was equally as charming.

Monster Hunter Online takes more or less the same route – expanding on the multiplayer features of the Monster Hunter franchise and taking it completely online.

It is the franchise’ very first PC release for the Monster Hunter series and shares a variety of familiar monsters, weapons, and gameplay elements with the core game series.

Now, please be aware that the game is currently not available in the West. It is fully playable though with a fairly coherent English patch that translates quite a lot of the game.
This makes the game a lot more bearable and assists with the whole “I can’t understand anything that’s going on” problem a lot of English speaking players have.

Character Customization

Monster Hunter Online’s character creator is very impressive.
By far one of the most impressive character creators I’ve seen in an MMORPG. Potentially even better than the one found in Black Desert Online.
Although slightly more limiting with regards to hair customization, the overall creator itself has significantly more features than anything else I’ve seen.
The main drawback I saw with the character creator was that the avatar you create always looks very Asian.
While I don’t have a problem with Asian looking characters – nor do I have a problem with Western looking characters, I know that some people are heavily turned off by it.
You can blame the heavy influx of Asian themed MMORPG bombs in recent years for that.

Gameplay

Like all Monster Hunter games, you do not grow like you would in traditional RPG games. You do not level, nor do you have any intrinsic attributes vital to your progression. Instead, you are defined by what equipment you select prior to leaving on missions.
Now, given that Monster Hunter Online was released 5 years ago all the way back in 2013, the game looks and plays surprisingly well. Better than most games released to the West in the last year or two.
Your characters’ movement, combat animations, skill effects; everything works so seemlessly.
There wasn’t a single time in our 20+ hours of playing where I felt like the gameplay in Monster Hunter Online underperformed.

Combat

Since the entirety of the game revolves around combat, you’d expect the combat to perform above and beyond expectation, right?
Thankfully the games combat does not disappoint.
For a game released way back in 2013 – a time when Action MMORPGs weren’t really all that common – the combat is probably some of the best I’ve seen.
It’s fast, tactical, and makes use of a large variety of weapon types and combat styles that are dependant on the weapon you have equipped.
If you’ve played a Monster Hunter game in the past, then you’ll be happy to know that it makes use of familiar combat features.
The only problem I had with the combat was – and this is more of an inability to understand what was going on issue – the fact that I couldn’t figure out how to use specific items in combat.
There were times where Wiggy and I were dying and couldn’t figure out which of our items were health items and which were even usable in combat, which made for some near-death experiences.
I do recommend if you’re going to play – make sure to figure out which items do what in combat zones and don’t leave it until you’re fighting a huge ass monster to think “Wait, which of these heal me again?”

Class Diversity

Monster Hunter Online doesn’t have traditional classes, nor a traditional class system. Instead, the game offers a variety of weapons that drastically alter your characters playstyle.
Each weapon functions more or less as an entirely different class as each weapon you have equipped has their own combat style.
There are a grand total of 9 weapons in Monster Hunter Online: Great Sword, Long Sword, Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Hammer Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Bow, and finally, a new weapon type exclusively for Monster Hunter Online, the Bowgun.
So although there aren’t any classes in-game, you can rest assured they do in fact have the option to utilize different playstyles and combat styles to suit however you want to play.
Except for magic.
But I don’t recall Monster Hunter games ever having magic as a combat mechanic.

Plot

Like Monster Hunter Online’s predecessors, the game is very story-lite.
It follows more or less the same formula as every other Monster Hunter title: “This specific monster is irrirating the local inhabitants, we require you deal with it. ”, “Yes sir, I shall ride out immediately and deal with the monster post-haste!” Rinse and repeat.
Now, while that is more or less fine – as it works for the franchise, some people may find themselves wanting for more.
So, unfortunately while there is a narrative of sorts.. the fact remains that the game doesn’t have much of a semblance of one.
Not that it needs one.

Graphics

Monster Hunter Online is a very beautiful game.
Since the game is instanced, it is capable of having large, heavily detailed environments without putting much of a strain on your PC.
The character models are some of the best you’ll find in an MMO. You might argue Black Desert or Blade and Soul’s character models look better but Monster Hunter Online’s just look so natural and real that to me.. it’s incomparable.
It’s disappointing that the companies behind the game, Tencent and Capcom both, refuse to release the game outside of China.
With the huge success that Monster Hunter World was, the popularity of the Monster Hunter genre, and the stale state the MMORPG market has fallen into – now would be the opportune moment to act.

Population

Since it’s a Chinese MMORPG you can be damn sure the population is large. Every single time we logged in there were a ton of people around, and there are several servers all equally as packed.
Those numbers though are insignificant in comparison to how many players are out on missions – the focal point of the entire game.

The World

Monster Hunter Online, and every Monster Hunter title for that matter is completely instanced.
The entire game takes place in various instanced zones, each with multiple maps you can traverse.
The main town or city functions as a hub where you go to talk with other players, find groups, take missions, purchase items, craft gear and more.
It’s where you’ll be spending all your time outside of doing missions.
Each Monster Hunter game gives you access to diverse regions with incredibly differing weather conditions, ranging from fiery volcanoes to frigid tundras.

PvE

Monster Hunter Online is a PvE game. All it is is PvE. There aren’t really many things to do outside of hunting and crafting, and let’s be honest.. the aforementioned features are why you’re here anyway.
There are no “dungeons” – at least in their traditional form, nor are there any raids.
Instead, missions take place in “instanced” areas, that are, more or less, synonymous with dungeons in a loose context.
You can tackle the instance by yourself or with a group of friends, finally coming across a “boss” that needs disposing of.
So once again, instances can function more or less like dungeons if you’re interested in that.

PvP

Now, I wasn’t sure what to classify this as.
See, Monster Hunter Online has an Arena mode that functions as PvP content – in so that players can vs each other – but again.. not in the traditional sense of the word.
Instead, players are put on separate teams and must go head to head with each other in PvE content, against groups of monsters, in an attempt to beat the other players and team.
While an interesting form of PvP – one that doesn’t involve actual violence against other players, it will leave testosterone filled teenag- I mean, PvP enthusiasts with a need to prove themselves sorely disappointed.

Overall — Is Monster Hunter Online Worth Playing?

It depends.
With most games, there is the chance for a Western release somewhere down the line in the future.
With Monster Hunter Online, there is no potential for a Western release. Ever.
So you have to go into this game knowing that if the translations for the game ever come to a halt, you’re going to be screwed. If they ever IP block the West, you’re screwed without a VPN.
Outside of that, if you want to see what an online version of Monster Hunter could be, then this is the game for you.
It’s beautiful, fun, and will satiate any need for monster slaughtering you might have.

Prologue

“What is the most important thing in the profession of a monster hunter? Knowledge? They can be gleaned from books and from mentors, fill your head with various facts inside and out. Sometimes knowledge will be vital to the business, and sometimes you have to figure it out on the go. Maybe experience? Experience does not come by itself. It must be received. But you can get more until you see nothing but your own experience. And a fresh look can sometimes find a solution that a dozen trained eyes overlook. Then maybe a flair? This is a mysterious thing. Some have it, others don’t, and still others don’t know they have it. It is impossible for everyone to rely unanimously on something that cannot even be explained plainly. What then is the main thing in the craft of a monster hunter? The main thing is to understand who the monster is. It happens that a fanged, toothy, spiked creature turns out to be a cursed poor fellow who does not wish harm to anyone. And it also happens that a person who is pleasant from all sides turns out to be a tyrant, torturing and crippling his family. Who is the real monster? This question is faced by every monster hunter, but only a true expert in his craft can answer it correctly.0006

— An entry from the diary of an unknown monster hunter found in his unmarked grave

An old school ghost

A full moon proudly flaunted in the serene night sky. Rare clouds scattered across the sky almost did not obscure the shining disk, and the moonlight illuminated the entire region. The old oaks, peacefully standing aside, cast long, bizarre shadows on the hillocks around them. From the depths of the forest came the hooting of owls, sovereignly hosting among the ancient trees. A small strip of bushes stretched from the edge of the forest, smoothly turning into a spacious clearing. On its other side, a neatly trimmed lawn was visible, framed by graceful juniper bushes.

Admiring the beauties of the night landscape, Dimitar stood on the highest of the hillocks. Inhaling the spring night air with full breasts, he looked around the surroundings, periodically raising his gaze to the moon. After standing there for seven or eight minutes, the man took another deep breath and headed to the far edge of the clearing. His dark leather cloak made a barely audible rustle as it touched the short grass, and his heavy boots left shallow footprints. However, it was almost impossible to notice them. With a leisurely step, Dimitar moved along the clearing and, finally reaching the beginning of the lawn, began to go around the juniper bushes in a semicircle. As he passed, he extended his left hand to feel the thorny branches and add to the sense of smell. Bypassing the bush, the wanderer went to another part of the forest. It was much younger, and the trees in it did not create such impenetrable darkness as their older counterparts.

After standing on the outskirts for a couple of seconds, Dimitar decided not to waste time on the detour and moved straight through the forest. Soon his eyes finally got used to the semi-darkness, and he quickened his pace, wanting to see as soon as possible what was on the other side of the oak forest. Accompanied by the voices of birds, the crunch of deadwood and the rustle of leaves, the journey took no more than ten minutes. Soon the outskirts of the forest appeared ahead. The traveler stopped at the edge of the forest and tossed his head. From what he saw, his green eyes widened, and his heart beat a little faster. Before him in all its glory appeared the academy of magical arts of Vervibalia.

Dimitar slowly looked at the high towers, ornate windows and roofs faded from time to time, indulging in memories. The last eight years ago, the years of study at the academy, the man always considered the best period of his life. Of course, there were more than enough difficulties and problems, and sometimes even dangers, but that atmosphere of mystery and the feeling of penetration into the unknown was an incomparable pleasure. Ancient books, mysterious rituals, frightening creatures and endless discussions with friends were of unprecedented value to Dimitar. However, time passed, and he was forced to put aside nostalgic thoughts, returning to his mission.

With a confident step, the sorcerer walked towards the western part of the building in order to go around the castle along the shortest road. Ever since the director of the academy, Yaroslav Donskoy, called him yesterday, Dimitar has been preparing for the task ahead. The request of the old master was simple and understandable. A ghost has appeared on the territory of the educational institution, starting to constantly interfere in the life of Vervibalius. By an unfortunate coincidence, the former defender of the academy Zoran Josipovic had retired a week earlier, and had not yet had time to send a new Arcane Council. In the depths of his soul, Dimitar understood that the director, like half of the teachers, could do away with the ghost without any problems. But it seems that the master decided to entrust this matter to a professional, or simply decided to give the former student the opportunity to indulge in pleasant memories. So he gladly accepted the request for help and immediately went to the academy.

Soon the traveler reached the edge of the castle and turned north. After a couple of minutes, his destination appeared in the distance — the old anatomical theater, which, obviously, was no longer used. Dimitar used to come here often during his studies. Then the wise and incredibly cheerful Leopold Aristarkhovich taught students the Anatomy of magical creatures and monsters. The discipline was terrible and frightened many, but young Dimitar was completely delighted with it. The opportunity to see with his own eyes the inner nature of various creatures and comprehend it, relying on science, fascinated him. As a result, the hours spent in this anatomical theater, as well as the hours devoted to the analysis of the notes drawn up in it, had a huge impact on the young man, pushing him to start mastering the profession of a monster hunter. Once again immersed in nostalgic reflections, Dimitar reached an abandoned building. Instantly, the inscribed runic barrier caught his eye. Apparently, thus, the director locked the ghost inside, no longer allowing him to disturb the students. The sorcerer quickly assessed the strength of the defensive spells and moved inside.

The old door creaked open, depriving the hunter of any hope of a surprise effect. However, not after a minute, not after two, not after three, the ghost did not appear. Apparently, he decided to take the uninvited guest by surprise. Dimitar took two smooth steps forward, but the monster did not appear even after that. Then he began to slowly go around the front rooms of the building, examining all the corners and nooks and crannies.

Suddenly, the hunter heard a barely perceptible crack behind him. Turning around with lightning speed, Dimitar put up a magic shield, and at the same second a wave of astral energy hit the barrier. A ghost hovered in the air a few meters ahead. He did not have a clear form and was a pale black accumulation of energy, vaguely resembling an elongated girl in torn clothes to the floor. The monster sent wave after wave into the shield of the intruder, hoping to gradually exhaust the enemy. Dimitar, meanwhile, carefully studied the ghost and could only come to one conclusion — the creature was not someone’s summoned spirit or an avatar of any force of nature. Before him appeared a reflection of human emotion, which was accidentally or deliberately splashed out in such a dangerous form.

Realizing that it would take more than a couple of passes and spells to banish such a creature, the hunter decided to use a trick. Gaining the moment when the creature was preparing for a new attack, he abruptly removed the protection and jumped aside. As expected, another wave of astral energy hit the wall, kicking up a pile of dust and making noise. Because of this, the ghost momentarily lost sight of the enemy, which was quite enough to create a simple trap. As soon as the creature focused again and rushed into battle, Dimitar threw a magical net hastily woven from spells onto it. The energy threads burned the shell of the ghost, and the monster with a piercing screech disappeared somewhere in the depths of the building.

It would have taken the ghost about ten minutes to break the net, which was enough for the hunter to do all his research. Dimitar strode energetically towards the center of the anatomy theater.

Having flung open the auditorium door, the sorcerer quickly stepped inside and slammed it shut behind him. Dimitar hopped over the observation decks as he made his way to the teacher’s demonstration table, not wanting to waste time. When he reached his destination, he began carefully examining the table. It was here that Leopold Aristarkhovich conducted vivisections, which means that it was here that the strongest energy was. It was only a couple of moments before the search bore fruit. There was a small piece of wax on one of the edges of the table. There were almost no traces of dust on it, and it looked quite fresh. The hunter tore it off and held it up to his eyes. Now it became clear that the ghost appeared during the ritual. Dimitar glanced at his wristwatch, confirming that the second round with the ghost was only a couple of minutes away. The sorcerer began to look around, looking for clues that could reveal the essence of the action carried out here. Unfortunately, nothing suspicious or unnatural was evident.

Time was running out, and the hunter was beginning to worry that those who performed the ritual might leave no other traces. But then he caught sight of a small strange object lying near the emergency exit door. Coming closer, Dimitar picked it up and realized that it was a shard of a mirror. The glass was almost completely blackened, having been corrupted by the enchantment. Taking it with him, the man returned to the table and began to wonder what exactly could happen here.

Suddenly, a relieved exclamation was heard from the basement, indicating that the net holding the ghost was finished. Dimitar began to prepare for the worst, when suddenly he had a theory about what kind of ritual could happen here. Of course, there was no unambiguous evidence, but instinct said that the theory was correct. The hunter’s version was as follows — students who wanted to practice complex arts came to an abandoned anatomical theater and began to conduct a ghost summoning ritual. Most likely, in the process, one of them accidentally looked into the ritual mirror and, seeing his own reflection, remembered his deeply hidden sorrows gnawing at him. The incandescence of magical energy at that moment should have been quite enough to materialize disappointment in a ghost. Here it is — here the ghost of hidden regrets manifested itself.

Enjoying a moment of relief from solving the mystery, Dimitar sat down on the floor behind the demonstration table so that he could not be seen. The sorcerer began to search through the pockets of his own cloak in search of the necessary item. Finally, his fingers found the cold glass, and he brought to light a small vial, in which a fraction of an impure whirlwind was imprisoned. The «dungeon» itself had a very unusual shape. Its top was something like a syringe needle, with which something could be injected inside.

The auditorium door rumbled open and a ghost burst into the room. Dimitar stuck the top of the vial into his thumb with lightning speed. After waiting for a couple of drops of blood to drain inside, the hunter threw the bottle at the far end of the audience. The vial shattered on the floor with a characteristic rattle, and a blood-saturated whirlwind was released around the room. In a matter of moments, the evil spirits flew around the entire audience and disappeared. Exact visual copies of Dimitra appeared at the places where she flew.

The wraith let out a furious yell and attacked, destroying the illusions. Dimitar, imperceptibly watching what was happening, grinned, after which he squeezed a defiled fragment of a mirror between his palms and began to utter a spell in a barely audible whisper. The sorcerer spent the next couple of minutes in full concentration and was distracted only after the completion of the spell.

Suddenly, a ghost emerged from behind a massive display table and released a powerful wave of astral energy. The hunter wanted to defend himself, but did not have time. The attack threw him back several meters, and he collapsed onto one of the observation stands. There was a buzzing in my head, white spots loomed before my eyes. However, the sorcerer found the strength to stand up and turn around.

A furious creature was rushing straight at him, the whole appearance of which spoke of the intention to kill the offender. Dimitar hurriedly tore off his cloak and threw it backhand at the ghost. The monster knocked down a thrown wardrobe item without even slowing down. But that couple of seconds, for which the cloak hid the hunter from the eyes of the enemy, was quite enough for him to throw an enchanted mirror fragment at the monster.

The glass pierced into the very center of the embittered creature. The ghost started tossing from side to side. He screamed furiously and raged, but his fate had already been decided. The purified mirror expelled the created monster and shattered into tiny pieces.

Dimitar smirked, picked up his cloak and walked towards the exit. The monster was destroyed, the details to expose the perpetrators were soon to be on the director’s desk, which means the mission was completed. It’s time to move on, towards new threats.

Invisible consequences

1

The bright July sun illuminated the boundless expanses of the South Ural forests. Scattered clouds slowly drifted across the sky, as if trying not to interfere with the shining disk. Old and young trees stretched their crowns towards the light, and various herbs and shrubs imitated their mighty counterparts. From time to time, here and there, in the green massif, the sonorous singing of birds was heard. Behind him was the subtle and almost imperceptible murmur of one of the local rivers. Everywhere, where only the eye reached, the wild and majestic nature of the Urals stretched.

Dimitar stood at the edge of the forest and admired the local beauties. The air around was still a little electrified due to the recently closed magic portal. But the sorcerer paid no attention to this, inhaling the fresh air with full breasts. He managed to visit these parts only once, and a very long time ago, and even then the visit turned out to be incredibly fleeting. Now he has the opportunity to return. But, unfortunately, this opportunity was very tragic.

The hunter arrived not for his own pleasure, but on business. A few weeks ago, people began to mysteriously disappear in the area. There were no bodies, no traces of violence, no other clues to the reason for their disappearance. With more than a dozen missing, the Arcane Council dispatched two ranger mages to investigate. But they also disappeared, leaving no trace. Then the leaders of the magical community began to realize that the matter was more serious than it seemed at first glance. However, they still didn’t want to make the incident public, so they hired an outsider. Dimitar already had a certain amount of fame as a monster hunter by that time, and thanks to her, he was on the radar of the Council. True, he was still given little information about what had happened, hoping that the high pay would more than compensate for any dangers and difficulties. But, despite its small number, the information provided contained all the most important, so Dimitar readily set to work.

Having taken one more look at the enchanting landscape, the sorcerer decided to move on to action. First, he looked around intently, listening to his instincts. Alas, it was silent, not giving a single clue. Although Dimitar did not put much hope in him, he still felt a slight pang of disappointment. In order to quickly drive away the unpleasant sensation, the hunter picked up a fallen pine branch from the ground and took out a blue handmade scarf from the pocket of a long leather cloak, which he had taken yesterday from the daughter of one of the missing rangers. The girl claimed that it was one of her father’s favorite things: as soon as the first cold weather began, he immediately wrapped himself in it. Dimitar wrapped the scarf around the raised branch, folded the fingers of his left hand in a special gesture, and cast a search spell. The design began to emit a barely noticeable glow, symbolizing the success of the enchantment. The hunter pointed with a branch to each of the four cardinal points, determined in which direction it glowed the brightest, and headed there.

The journey turned out to be long and far from easy. Dense mixed forest, periodically changing landscape and summer heat did not facilitate the search. However, Dimitar resolutely moved forward, trying to guess what could happen to the missing people.

After a couple of hours, the sorcerer noticed one strange feature. Here and there he regularly spotted the imperial eagle. Dimitar wasn’t 100% sure, but at first glance it was always the same bird. In addition, the hunter knew that burial eagles do not hunt in such dense forests. There was only one explanation for what was happening: the bird was following him. There was no doubt that magic was involved here either. But for whom or for what the eagle was spying on him remained a mystery. Therefore, Dimitar continued to calmly move on, trying to discreetly keep an eye on the winged eavesdropper.

The search continued for about two more hours until Dimitar came to a small river. The water flowed slowly, its level reaching at most up to the waist. When the hunter approached close to the river, the enchanted search structure flashed incredibly brightly and went out. The sorcerer unwound the scarf, put it in his pocket, and threw the no longer needed branch on the ground.

The sun began to move toward sunset. I had to squat down to get a better view of the ground. However, the results of the inspection did not meet expectations at all. Other than the footprints of some small animal, or groundhog, or whatever, there was nothing of note. The ranger wondered if something could have broken his spell, when he suddenly saw a dried blood stain on one of the pebbles. Just one single drop.

“And where did you come from?” Dimitar thought to himself. Whether it was a person or an animal, there must have been other traces. At least a couple more drops. The hunter began to look around even more carefully, hoping to find clues that could explain what had happened here. But the rest of the shore contained no more traces.

Suddenly, a loud roar swept through the area. Dimitar immediately straightened up and turned towards the sound, clenching his fists. The rumble was heard from deep in the forest, about a hundred meters to the north. Only a moment passed, and the sound began to approach, as if a huge animal was pushing its way through the thicket. The sorcerer threw up his hands, exposing a magical shield in front of him. The suspense grew.

An unknown creature quickly jumped out of the forest. In size, it slightly exceeded the adult kodiak. His body was covered with black fur like coal. The creature had a mobile elongated muzzle with a mouth full of sharp fangs and bright red eyes with slit pupils. Dimitar did not have time to consider anything else. Letting out a deafening roar, the monster quickly rushed to the attack.

Deciding that in this situation the best defense is an attack, the sorcerer transformed his shield into a wave of magical energy and threw it at the beast. The attack knocked the monster off its feet and threw it back a couple of meters, but did no tangible harm.

While the unknown monster was rising, viciously scratching the ground with its sharp claws, Dimitar hurriedly raised his hands above his head and began to create a huge sphere of light in the air. As soon as the creature stood up and prepared for a new attack, the sorcerer swiftly crossed his thumbs and struck the ground with his hands. The glowing orb that hung in the air instantly rushed forward. Hitting the ground, it shattered into many miniature copies of itself, which flooded the area with bright light. Dimitar wasn’t sure how true his theory was that the creature was sensitive to light, but the spell had indeed blinded it. Closing its red eyes, the monster began to rush from side to side, uttering a terrifying roar.

The hunter promptly shielded his eyes with a blocking charm and rushed to the other side of the river. But as soon as he jumped out to the opposite bank, the monster stopped raging and rushed after him. Apparently, he heard the splash of water when the tracker moved to the other side.

Realizing that it would be impossible to escape from the beast, Dimitar knelt down, dipped the fingers of both hands into the water and began to whisper incantations. Obeying the spell, the stream of water soared up. The floating waters of the river began to surround the monster, forming a dense sphere around it. The creature let out a formidable roar and tried to escape, but the water closed abruptly and lifted the monster up.

An unknown creature raged inside the sphere, trying to escape. Dimitar tried his best to hold onto the magical construct. He calculated that if he could contain the monster long enough, he would pass out from lack of oxygen. However, the plan didn’t work. Sensing the danger that threatened her, the creature made a sharp attack. Sharp claws tore through the wall of water for a moment, and the monster let out a deep, crippling howl. A piercing sound hit Dimitar. Falling to the ground, the hunter grabbed his ears.

The spell no longer holds the structure, and the creature, along with a mass of water, collapsed to the ground. But Dimitar did not hear either the blow of the monster’s body on the ground, or its roar, or the spray of water. All sounds became muffled and almost inaudible. Continuing to hold on to his ears, the tracker got up. What he saw made his heart race. The creature has already recovered from the fall and prepared to rush to the attack. The creature opened its mouth menacingly, anticipating victory, when suddenly several dozen Imperial Eagles appeared from the forest. The birds let out some kind of war cry and frantically rushed into battle. Circling around the monster, they dug into its body with claws and beaks. Blood splattered everywhere. The monster, although it turned out to be disoriented, was not going to offend himself. Wielding powerful paws, he tried to fight off winged enemies.

While a desperate battle was going on in the river, another burial ground landed in front of Dimitar. Very similar to the one that followed him earlier. The bird pointed its head towards the forest, and then slowly took off. There was not much choice, and the birds saved his life, so the hunter got to his feet and rushed after him.

The eagle skillfully led the traveler through the thicket, always remaining in sight and preventing him from crashing into the trees. The ranger no longer heard the sounds of battle, although he could not tell for sure whether the reason for this was the distance traveled or the injury to his ears.

At last the furious flight is over. The eagle slowed down and dived smoothly onto a stone sticking out of the ground. Sighing heavily, Dimitar approached the bird, expecting further actions from it. However, the burial ground just sat there.

— Where did you take me? Are we safe? the sorcerer asked, trying to meet the eyes of the feathered savior.

“Yes,” a muffled voice came from behind.

The hunter turned around, but a cloud of silvery dust struck his eyes. Instinctively stepping back, Dimitar stumbled and fell on his side.

“You need to rest,” the same muffled voice was heard again. The tracker did not have time to consider its owner, having fallen into a dream.

Milla Jovovich fights creatures from another dimension again

Fantasy blockbuster by Paul W. S. Anderson (not to be confused with other Andersons) with Milla Jovovich in the form of Lieutenant Natalie Artemis, who, along with her squad, finds herself in a parallel world teeming with unknown giant monsters. The heroes must survive and prevent fantastic creatures from entering through an open portal to Earth. It is worth mentioning that the film directed by the Resident Evil franchise is partly based on the video game of the same name, and in addition to Anderson Jovovich’s favorite, Ron Perlman, Megan Good and Diego Boneta will appear in the film.

points can only be given for music (I don’t know why, but it came to me, a la prefix 90x), sounds, video. all.
famous and respected actors. not only jovovich, but also Tony Jah is a famous dude (for fans). It is not clear why he, with his talents in this film,
Jovovich, also plays on the back … sorry
, but the movie is shit.
the feeling that all the battles are part of a big movie, a big story. This is the story I want to see. what kind of new world, why exactly this world, what was there and why ..
And in the end, it’s just an action movie, shooters, monsters, spiders .. what’s the point in general?!? boring.

Funny cinema. A mixture of different films and genres, but I think it’s more fantasy in the first place. Interesting, humorous.
In the final set-up…
P.S. Milla is no longer that easy girl from the monastery, but still she is well done.

Of course, there is no special meaning — so, no one expected him, not «Jeanne d’Arc», tea. The action does not sag to air the brains — that’s it. One and a half hours to admire Mila bravely fighting monsters (and they are such infections, hard to kill!) — why not?

Liked it! Mila is at her best, how organically she fits into all these battle scenes! 💪👍🔥 you can only «stick» to her😇 whoever follows her films, the picture will definitely go to that! High thoughts, about the Cat and the like — aside, go and look!))
