Rumor: May’s Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate DLC to include new collaboration content

in 3DS, Rumors

Capcom is supporting Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate with free DLC each month. We’ve seen things like new quests, items, and more. DLC launches during the first Friday of every month, so another round of new content is expected on May 1.

This week’s GameStop ad may reveal some of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate’s May DLC. Pictures showing Palico equipment based on Mega Man and Blanka are in the circular, along with armor featuring Samus’ Varia Suit.

All of these collaboration items were announced in the past – it’s just a matter of when they’ll be available. Capcom previously released a Link-based equipment set, plus Super Mario Bros. and Sonic-based Palico equipment.

May 1 is just on the horizon, so it shouldn’t be long before we find out if this rumor holds any weight.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

sunbreak (and their weaknesses) — Game Advisor

Many difficult fights awaited eager players in Monster Hunter Rise after its release in 2021. Now, with the release of the first DLC expansion of the game, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak hunters are waiting for a whole new challenge. The expansion will feature a new story mode, as well as more and more monsters to hunt. In addition to the new monster roster, the DLC also includes access to Master Rank quests. These challenging fights will turn monsters that previously seemed easy into steep mountains for both old and new players. However, these ten monsters remain the most difficult to defeat in the full game. nine0009

10/10 Shagaru Magala

Sunbreak returns Shagaru Magala, the mascot monster from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate . Returning with the mysterious flying wyvern is Shagaru Magala, the evolved form of Gor Magala that serves as one of the final bosses in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. 4 Ultimate . These are two hunts that are best taken with a full squad of hunters. Especially Shagaru Magala is not an easy task even for the most hardy hunters. nine0003 Monster Hunter veterans. This monster can hit players with the Frenzy Virus effect. If players are not careful, they can take extra damage from frenzied attacks. Before you go hunting for such a monster, it is best for to take a weapon with dragon or fire elements.

9/10 Radiant Nargakuga

Standard Nargakuga is one of the hardest fights in the base game Rise . In Sunbreak , players will receive their second portion of this flying wyvern via Radiant Nargakuga. This variant first appeared in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and will be added to Sunbreak via the August 2022 update. Lucent Nargacuga has the ability to turn invisible. In addition, her skin is much stronger, which means that weapons with blue sharpness and under it will easily bounce off her. Hunters should go into battle with ‘s high sharpness of and ideally something that will allow to exploit its ice weakness of as well.

8/10 Chameleos

Radiant Nargakuga is not the only monster in Sunbreak with the ability to become invisible. There’s also Chameleos, an elder dragon who is also known to spit venom and steal items from players. Even in the base game Monster Hunter Rise, Chameleos can become quite a difficult hunt if players are poorly prepared. With the addition of Master rank quests, even hunters who have already fought chameleons will face new challenges. Luckily, this monster is weak to Burst so it’s a good hunt to get the Magnamalo weapon. He also takes increased damage from Fire, Dragon and Electricity elements.

7/10 Teostra

Some monsters, especially in Rise , can be difficult to fight without much reward. This is no less true when it comes to Teostra. This lion-like Elder Dragon boasts powerful fire and explosion attacks, as well as a set of armor and weapons that every hunter should strive to create if given the chance. If players avoid some of his one-hit attacks, such as Supernova, this hunt will be a good challenge for them. Luckily Teostra is just as susceptible to Explosion as it is to its power, so feel free to bring a Magnamalo or Bazelgeuse weapon with you. Teostra also takes additional damage from blunt weapons such as hammers.

6/10 Kushala Daora

This Ice Dragon Elder completes the trio next to Teostra and Chameleos. Kushala Daora can be challenging even in high rank quests, so hunters in Sunstrike should definitely be wary of encountering him at master rank. However, with the right choice of weapons and strategy, this fight can turn from stressful to manageable. Kushala is weakest to weapons with elements of Thunder, Fire and Explosion. However, none of these elements will help hunters who fail to avoid some of her deadliest attacks. If you get caught in Kushala’s instant death combo, players should move away so as not to cost their team a precious ammo.

5/10 Thunder Serpent Narva

Elder dragons such as Narva can be quite intense battles for some hunters. Sun burst Hunters will have an advantage here, as the DLC expansion may not be available until players defeat the mind-controlling thunder queen. However, fighting her is no less of a challenge in Sunbreak than in the base game. As with the Special Elder Hunt, players will benefit from familiarizing themselves with the Coral Palace area. Narva will raise platforms, allowing players to access artillery which is very useful for dealing damage. nine0005 Dragonator and Wyvernshot Smash are also useful tools to quickly defeat the Thunderwyrm.

4/10 Despicable Magnamalo

Many of the monsters from the base game Rise have much tougher incarnations in the game Sunbreak DLC. One of them is Magnamalo, who can be quite a ruthless opponent on his own. However, the Scorned Magnamalo will prove to be a much more difficult opponent, even once unlocked at HR 100. While the Scorned Magnamalo will prove to be more difficult than its original form, players should approach this fight like any other Magnamalo. It means equip the Water and Thunder weapons and be ready to face hellfire. Don’t be surprised if taking out and restarting this hunt starts to feel like a chore.

3/10 Crimson Glow Valstrax

Valstrax first appeared in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate where he proved to be one of the toughest opponents in the game. His mutant form, Crimson Glow Valstrax, was added to Rise in an update. However, for many hunters it may still be new as it can only be unlocked after reaching HR 100 in the base game. Needless to say, many hunters may encounter Valstrax for the first time if they miss MHGU and didn’t get far enough in Rise . Players should use to attack this monster while it is on the ground, bring explosive weapons if they want to get the extra damage. Use your time in the air to sharpen or heal if necessary.

2/10 Furious Rajang

Rajang is infamous in the Monster Hunter franchise for being one of the most brutal hunters. His original form deals massive thunder damage, so it’s no surprise that his aggressive variant, Furious Rajang, is even more fearsome. Luckily, players won’t have to face this monster until they defeat Sunbreak . To prepare for this hunt, there is little that players can do other than bring a weapon with the Ice element with them. This is the type of hunt that can reward fast weapons like Dual Blades or Insect Glaive. For slower weapons, it’s a good idea to bring Pitfall Traps with you, which can be used when Rajang is enraged to knock him out for a moment.

1/10 Malzeno

Of course, the monster mascot of this DLC expansion will be one of the most climactic fights in the game. Malzeno is accompanied by a new disease, Blood Light, which drains players’ HP and reduces the effectiveness of healing items. Suffice it to say that this hunt will require maximum skill from the hunters. Malzeno’s Blood Light can be weakened by attacking the monster aggressively. Also useful use weapons with shields, or perhaps weapons that can dodge in the blink of an eye. While this might be the hardest fight in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak , it will also be the most memorable one. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is available now on PC and Switch.
