The Logitech G513 is a mechanical gaming keyboard available since April 2018. It looks similar to the Logitech G413, but offers more features.
Gaming Keyboard with Lightsync RGB Lighting
The illumination of the Logitech G513 supports the full RGB spectrum. More than 16 million colors are available and can be customized for each key individually. And of course, there are various lighting effects and animations available. Thanks to Logitech’s Lightsync technology, the illumination of other compatible devices can be synced with the keyboards lighting.
The keyboard further comes with a memory foam palm rest and twelve additional gaming keycaps. These can be used to swap out the keys for the numbers one to five and the letters Q, W, E, R, A, S and D. Conveniently a keycap puller is also included in delivery.
The illumination, the gaming mode and macros for the function keys can be configured via the Logitech gaming software. The G513 supports 26-key rollover, you therefore never have to worry about whether your inputs will be recognized correctly.
Choice between several Logitech Switches
There are three different switch types available for the Logitech G513. You can choose between the tactile and linear Romer-G Switches and since summer 2018 you also have the option of the GX Blue Switches with audible feedback. Difference between Logitech G512 and G513
The Logitech G512 was introduced in June 2018. The G512 and G513 are basically the same, they only differ in terms of their box contents. The G512 is cheaper, but comes without palm rest and also has no keycap puller or extra keycaps included.

The Logitech G513 RGB Wired Gaming Mechanical Romer-G Tactile Switch Keyboard has impressive specifications. The height and depth of the keyboard are stunning at 1.4″ and 5.2″, respectively.
It weighs close to 2.5 pounds that is quite sturdy for a gaming keyboard. Please do note that the G512 comes with similar dimensions. It cannot be called as lightweight but is quite pleasant to use for gaming and regular typing work.

However, you can get the G513 model only in the Cherry MX Blue color. The G512 can be brought in several colors and textures. They also come with full-function keys that work like a charm. The G512 model is durable than the G513 model.
Though both are durable and come with stupendous features on them, it is quite unlikely that they will break down easily. But the G512 unit can be a little loud. If you are okay with it, then it is the keyboard for you.

The Logitech G513 RGB Wired Gaming Mechanical Romer-G Tactile Switch Keyboard uses the Romer-G Tactile switches. It comes with a tactile bump that is present in the middle of the unit. The tactile bump can be found before the actuation point.
This feature of it helps in the short pre-travel distance of the keyboard with little or no force required. As we said in the previous segment, they come with Linear switches and the Romer-G Tactile.
Today, you can get them in the GX Blue, Red, and Brown switches. You can feel your fingers move quickly when typing on the model. It is that good. It is a nice sign when you are typing. The flow is just unbelievable.
A tactile bump is found in the model, but it feels quite soft compared to other units. You can also find them with the linear switches that make them slightly noisy. It is bearable, but you would have been happier without the noise all around you.
The keyboard comes with keycaps that are quite sturdy for you. They do not wobble too much, causing tremendous issues for you. It is produced from ABS plastic, and you can find them a little oily at times overused.
It has a nice and comfortable wrist rest. The wrist rest enables you to type quickly but is able to make it appear elegant. The model does not cause any fatigue for you when typing. When you are making use of the Romer-G Tactile and linear switches, they come in GX Blue, Red, and Brown tones.
Our tester found that the Romer-G Tactile switches are noiseless and quite soft to type and work on.
The other models can be slightly loud for office surroundings and disturb others around you.
Like the GX Blue switches that are loud and noisy, it comes with low latency, and you do not find any problems when gaming or using it. Its software is also good because of the G HUB. The RGB lighting can be customized, and you can program the macros from here.
They can help you to create a unique profile according to your requirements. There is no onboard memory for saving the settings. You may need an account for using the Cloud sync feature that is present on it.
To use a model with onboard memory for saving the custom profiles, you can use Corsair K60 RGB PRO Low Profile. It has good compatibility. The unit is compatible with Windows, and the scroll and pause buttons do not work on the macOS.
The Logitech G512 Lightsync RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a mechanical keyboard. It means that the unit uses proprietary switches. The GX Blue model that is slightly noisy was good but loud.
You can also choose the tactile GX Brown and linear GX Red units if you want. The blue switches that are present on them are light to work. If you notice, they come with loud feedback indicating that you have registered a click.
The typing quality of the keyboard is outstanding. You can find that the blue switches on the unit offer you a nice and elegant click on. It is quite stable, and you find no issue with the shaking.

It comes with exceptional software support. The model has the G HUB software that helps you with the customization of the keys.
It does not come with onboard memory. That means you have to use the software and save the profile of the keyboard.
The keyboard’s compatibility is good, and the software works quite well on Windows. It also works quite well on the macOS. Unfortunately, the keys do not work on macOS. Though most of the keys work exceptionally well on Linux, you won’t be able to customize them.

Our winner in this review is the Logitech G512 model. The design is also stylish, and our tester did not find anything negative to say or tell about the keyboard. We felt that the keycaps were not elegantly done and thought they felt somewhat clicky.

Logitech G, the Logitech brand dedicated to building high-performance gaming hardware, announced the launch of the Logitech G512 mechanical gaming keyboard and new GX Blue switch.
The Logitech G512 is a high-quality gaming keyboard built on the award-winning designs of the G413 and G513. The novelty offers a choice of three key options — Tactile, Linear and the new GX Blue. The introduction of GX Blue switches, also available on the Logitech G513, not only expands the range of mechanical switches, but also expands the number of industry-leading Logitech G keyboards available.

Very suitable for a gamer
I liked the fact that the letters on the keyboard are translucent, not painted, as well as the format of the keyboard (the presence of a numpad, a double-deck Enter and a long Backspace) .
When choosing a mechanical keyboard, my eyes fell on Logitech. After reading reviews on other Logitech models, I often encountered negative
double click feedback. There were no such ones on the G512 keyboard, so I decided to take it. But, unfortunately, after a year and a half of use, such a problem began.
Just started using the keyboard, but the impressions are already excellent.
The only software from Logitech is not the most intuitive, and besides, it is not on Linux.
No double taps even though I play several hours a day
Backlit is ok 🙂
But the programmable keys are useless here (in the form of f1-f12)
I would like the Logitech G HUB software to have more built-in presets for games
