Life is Strange: Out of Time, Chapter 2

This page of the Life is Strange guide is dedicated to Chapter 2 of Episode 2 (Out of Time). We’ve described the actions you need to perform while outside of the dormitory and the meeting with Chloe. Regardless of the choice you’ve made at the end of the previous chapter, the course of the game will be the same. Leave Kate’s room and go to the dormitory’s backyard. Before you go any further, approach the bench on the right side — next to it you will find a trash bin, with a piece of a candy bar inside. Take the candy from it and put it on the bench. Move away slightly so that a squirrel will approach the food you’ve prepared. As soon as the furry begins the feast, approach it and take the second photo for your journal collection.

After you’ve taken the photography, you can go to the janitor break room, where you can find a couple of interesting things (like Rachel’s photos). You can ask the janitor, who is sitting on the bench and feeding birds, about it.

Approach Taylor, who is sitting by the tree and speak with her if you want to get another journal entry. Regardless of the choices you make during the conversation, you won’t get a «friendly for Taylor» status in the journal. You will have to wait until she speaks about her mother and then go back in time and use the freshly acquired knowledge to surprise her. After going back in time, you will just have to select the «About your mom» dialogue option to get a positive entry in your journal.

After the conversation, head towards the dormitory exit and speak with Warren. You can either «go on a date» with him (movie), or decline. Regardless of your choice, the conversation will continue in a same manner. Afterwards, head towards the exit to watch a cut scene.

After arriving at the place, look around the area before you enter the bar. Go to the parking lot where you will find a trailer. A man and a guard tog will be sitting behind it — the dog will prevent you from talking with the man. Additionally, you must take a photo here if you want to complete your collection. In order to do that, circle around the building (bar) and enter the back alley. By following it, you will get to the fence, from where you will be able to see both the dog and the man. Here you can take your photo. Another photography can be taken in front of the bar entrance. Look at the signboard above the entrance (whale) and take the photo (Sign — Photo).

After you’ve made those two shots, enter the bar and head towards the toilet. Inside, there will be a graffiti on the mirror — take a last photo for your collection here. Go to the other side of the bar and sit at the box — soon the waitress will approach you. Talk to her for a short while and order one of the two dishes. After making your order, wait for the waitress to come back with the breakfast — in the meantime you can look around the room and drink your coffee.

As soon as Chloe comes back, she will start a conversation about your supernatural abilities. You will be faced with quite a difficult test — all of the tasks will depend on your perception. Chloe will order you to guess what is inside her pockets. In order to do so, you will first have to answer her questions incorrectly and wait for her to show what is inside them. Before you go back in time, you must memorize all the details about every single thing. Afterwards, Chloe will ask you the very same questions. The questions, and the answers to them, are as follows:

Cigarettes — after the correct answer, Chloe will ask you how many cigarettes are in the pack. The correct answer is seven.
Keys — after the correct answer, Chloe will ask you about more details. The correct answer is panda.
Money — although the currency shown is expressed in dollars, you can easily count the amount of money. The sum of money is exactly 86 cents.
Parking Ticket — the ticket shown on the screen will have a time stamp. The correct time is 10:34.

Another test will also depend on your observation skills. You will have to look around the room and memorize all the events you will be a witness of in the next dozen or so seconds. Afterwards, speak with Chloe and reveal all the details about every single one of them. The correct answers are:

Trucker drops his mug.
… and his partner leaves. The policeman receives a call, but instead of going together with his partner, he leaves him in the bar and departs on his own.
… and Joyce stops them. Joyce interrupts the scuffle between Justin and Trevor.
Jukebox goes crazy as a cockroach crawls on it.

At the end of the chapter you will be faced with a final and a consequential decision. Kate will call you and whether you answer the phone or one will have an impact on the future events. Answering the phone will help you significantly at the end of the episode, so it’s worth to choose the Answer option.

Walkthrough for second chapter of episode 2 Life Is Strange: Before The Storm: Junkyard, speaking with father, meeting with Rachel, therapy and hideout.

This chapter features a thorough walkthrough for the second part of the second episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm. This part describes the events that take place on the scrapyard, where Chloe goes after arguing with Joyce and David. The graffiti are mentioned in this chapter as well, although only in a short way. More thorough description of graffiti can be found in the Graffiti chapter of this guide.

Car

Once you get to the junkyard, Chloe will pull out a battery from an old car. You will need to look for a different one.

During the search you can climb on a boat (BOAT). In order to do it, first you must try climbing on it (CLIMB). The attempt won’t be successful. Before the next approach you must select the PALETTE and move it (PROP UP). Once the palette is set, try climbing the boat again. There you can make graffiti or climb higher (CABIN). Once you do it, a scene with Chloe’s monologue will start. Then you can leave the boat (to Climb Down).

There is a radio behind the boat. You can pick it up and turn it on. Chloe will place it on the window.

Behind the boat there is a box next to old barrels. OPEN it. Inside you will find a figurine. TAKE it.

Run behind the school bus. There you will find a white pick-up. Pull the battery from it. First select the HOOD and try opening it (OPEN). After an unsuccessful attempt you must walk towards the place with driver’s door. Select PULL and then LATCH. Once you do it, pull out the battery.

Go back to the first car. Put the battery inside it (BATTERY TRAY) and enter the vehicle. Chloe will use a screwdriver to start the car. Inside the vehicle check the damaged chair, the floor and the lamp. Place the figurine you found on the front.

Leave the car. TAKE the pirate flag from the boat.

Go back to the place where Chloe left the radio. Behind the wall, near the seat there is a decoration (CHRISTMAS LIGHT). Chloe will unscrew one light (TAKE).

Walk towards the white pick-up. In front of it there is a wiper in front of it. Pick it up (TAKE). Go back with all those items to the car.

Place the wiper on the floor, the flag on the seat and screw the light into the slot for the upper lamp. Chloe will sit and enjoy the car. Her phone will ring. Frank will have a business with her.

Once the conversation is over, you can paint graffiti, check the storage (OPEN) from which Chloe will take some items, turn the lamp on (TURN ON), use the horn (HONK) and play with the figurine (BOBBLE). In order to end this part of the game, light the cigarette (SMOKE).

Father

After smoking the game will save and you will regain control when Chloe will sit next to her father. You can examine her father and the marshmallows (LOOK).

There are marshmallows between Chloe and her father. STAB a marshmallow with a stick.

Start roasting the marshmallow (ROAST) and then initiate a conversation with father (SPEAK). Once the conversation is over, Chloe will wake up.

Meeting with Rachel

Chloe wakes up when Rachel comes. The girl will ask Chloe can she enter inside. There a conversation will start.

Therapies

During the conversation Rachel decides that she will become Chloe’s therapist. The girl will share her problems.

You can talk about 3 topics.

If you choose «David», three more choices will appear

1)Stepdouche.

2)Stepdick.

3)Stepfuck.

After the first choice you can tell Rachel that now it’s her turn or you can talk about other topics. You can ask her about three things:

1)Fire.

2)Truck.

3)Play.

If you select the play, new dialogue options will become available:

1)You’re not like him.

2)I won’t let you.

After this conversation Rachel will leave the car and leave some things. Chloe will move with them in order to create a «hideout».

Hideout

Once Rachel leaves, Chloe will go to the hideout to set things there. There you can paint graffiti on the right wall.

On the left side from the entrance there is a tapestry. HANG it.

Near the entrance door there is a dart board. HANG it as well.

The last thing you should do in the hideout is changing clothes. You can select clothes from items received from Rachel. If you have the collector’s edition, you can also select clothes from the basic version of the game.

After leaving the hideout Chloe will go to Frank.

Agents continue to search for the fugitive, and Hopper discovers a strange substance at the place where Will disappeared. Odie is revealed to have the ability to telekinesis. Meanwhile, at a youth party, a girl named Barb goes missing under mysterious circumstances.
