Leviathan raid prestige: Destiny 2 Prestige Leviathan raid guide: Royal Pools

Destiny 2 Prestige Leviathan raid guide: Royal Pools

The Royal Pools on Prestige is easily the hardest fight in the entire raid, Calus included. The normal version of the fight forces you to rotate around the arena, refreshing your buff and clearing out enemies. The Prestige version doesn’t change much in terms of mechanics, but each enemy is much more lethal on their own. If you’re unsure how the normal version of this fight works, we’ve got you covered in our guide to the non-Prestige Royal Pools.

Here’s how to deal with the increased difficulty of the Royal Pools.

Bungie/Activision

The first thing you may notice when starting this encounter is the new adjective attached to the Bathers. These enemies will now be known as the Oiled Ceremonial Bathers. In addition to having far more health and dealing more damage, Oiled Ceremonial Bathers will drop a puddle of oil when they die. If you stand in this puddle, you will lose stacks of Psionic Protection rapidly.

Since you should be striving to kill the Bathers before they get anywhere close to your plate, this mechanic will rarely come into play.

Bungie/Activision

This fight isn’t hard because of a new mechanic. It’s hard because the enemies can kill you so much faster. The adds in the normal version of this fight were essentially useless, only existing to annoy you or distract from the Bather. On Prestige mode, the Legionaries and Psions that rush your plate are the most dangerous enemies in the entire fight.

To deal with these adds, you should put your strongest members on the bottom right and bottom left plates. Because of the increased Oiled Ceremonial Bather and add difficulty, rotations will be much slower. These bottom plate players will have to deal with their Bather and the adds alone.

Learning where the adds emerge from on each plate is key to surviving this fight. Bottom left and top right should be looking for enemies to spawn on their right while bottom right and top left look for adds on their left. These adds must die before they hide from you behind cover, otherwise they will become problems the moment your Bather spawns. To stop that from happening, kill them as they enter your area.

Learning where the adds emerge from on each plate is key to surviving this fight.

You should be using a Kinetic weapon that can stagger the Bather and a damage over time grenade. Our group found success with either Sweet Business or Better Devils. Your Energy weapon should be a medium range energy auto rifle like the Uriel’s Gift or the Number. You should be using this Energy weapon on kill the adds as they get close to you. Fusion Rifles are your best bet when it comes to Power weapons, as they deal high damage to both the Bathers and the Censors. Our group used Merciless or the Main Ingredient.

When your ally comes to relieve you, you must take some extra time to help clear adds. Leave your ally to deal with the next wave of adds, or help them clear it out if there are still adds leftover from the last wave. When you reach the middle area, clear out as many Cabal as possible before grabbing more Psionic Protection. Once you have renewed your buff, rotate to your next plate and help that ally clear their room.

After a lot of practice, the chains will lock into place and the damage phase will start.

Bungie/Activision

Not much has changed during this phase. Once your entire party reaches the middle, do not jump on the plate. Work as a team to clear all of the enemies and kill the first Bather that emerges. Once that Bather is down and the room is relatively clear, have five members hop on the plate while the sixth pops their Super to clear adds. If you have a Hunter with Raiden Flux, have them run Arcstrider to help clear adds very quickly. Keep shooting the Censors and using Supers for adds.

Once the Psion spawns in the middle of the Sun plate, damage time is over. Four players will be marked with “Burden of Worthiness.” For those four players, a symbol will appear above the Psion. Each player will need to look above the Psion, call out the symbol they see and run to the corresponding plate. If you have “Burden of Worthiness,” you will only be able to get Psionic Protection from that specific plate.

If you die with Burden of Worthiness, it will not return upon your resurrection. This means that one player will never be able to get Psionic Protection, essentially wiping the team. Do not die after the damage phase is over. Once all four players have jumped on their commanded plate, the two unburdened players will be able to pick up Psionic Protection from the middle room.

From here, the rest of the fight remains the same. However, because the plates are randomly assigned, the teams will be completely different than the first phase. This simply requires more communication and flexibility. The mid player will still relieve top, who will then run mid and then relive bottom. Nothing changes aside from the players relieving you and where you start from.

Once the chains have been locked for a second time, return to the center room and eliminate the remaining Censors.

Destiny 2 Prestige Leviathan raid guide: The Gauntlet

The Gauntlet is Calus’ ultimate athletic challenge. In the normal version of the fight, you need to run the track until you get enough charges to fill the elevator. The Prestige mode requires everyone to run, shoot and punch. If you aren’t sure how this fight normally works, we’ve got you covered in our non-Prestige guide to the Gauntlet.

Here’s how to overcome the Prestige version’s new challenges.

Bungie/Activision

The Prestige version of the raid offers up far more difficult enemies. This really comes into play in the opening section of the Gauntlet. Instead of hanging out by your plate, the entire Fireteam should bunch together in the elevator dome. From the four doorways, everyone should have a shot at the monster closets that spawn the Cabal. Shoot them as you see them and take cover whenever necessary.

When the Centurions come out, rush them with all you have. Use your Supers, your Power ammo and your Energy weapons to bring them down quickly. If you leave a Centurion alive for the next section, he will almost certainly kill your team. Since they always have Solar shields, it’s worth swapping your Energy and Power weapon’s mods to Solar.

Bungie/Activision

In the normal version of the Gauntlet, shooters are assigned a plate and stay there for the entire fight. For the Prestige version, we will be breaking up into teams of three one the waves of adds have been defeated.

Break your team out into runner, puncher and shooter.

  • The runner will grab the charge and run the Gauntlet.
  • The puncher and shooter will stay together at all times, rotating around the arena with their runner.
  • One player, the puncher, will stay on the ground shooting triangles and punching Psions.
  • The shooter will jump from plate to plate dealing with the Psionic reflections.

When the runner calls the triangles, the shooter and puncher will work together as usual.

  • While the puncher does their thing, the shooter should immediately run to the new plate on their right.
  • Once the shooter is on, they should turn back toward the plate they just left and destroy the spawned Reflection. The Reflections usually hang out in the air above the Psion, on the columns, above the fire pits or on the plate itself.

Once all three jobs have made it through a single triangle shot, everyone will rotate together to the right. Repeat this process until the runner is proven worthy.

Bungie/Activision

One of the fun new mechanics in the Prestige mode Gauntlet is the “Proven Worthy” debuff. Once a runner has successfully run through the Gauntlet, they will be marked as “Proven Worthy,” meaning that they can no longer run. When it comes time to reenter the Gauntlet, either your puncher or shooter will have to enter instead.

This new process leaves the runner with a new job as well: replacing whoever is now inside. This fight now requires quite a bit of planning. The first thing your group should do is determine who is the weakest runner in each group. The weak runner should go first, before Calus spawns the pits. The rest of the roles can be dished out before the pull if you have a great memory or called as it happens.

The two players from each team remaining in the arena should determine if they are punching or shooting and if they are responsible for the top or bottom triangle. Once the roles are called, you will do your job like normal. Once the fight starts over again, runner two will go in and runner one will be assigned as puncher or shooter.

This section requires extreme coordination. Be flexible as a team and you should learn the flow in no time.

Bungie/Activision

During the final race, where all six members are on the track at the same time, Calus only offers up three charges per gate instead of four. That’s the only change to this section. Pick your three strongest runners and have them skip charge one, three and the finish line charge (these runners need to jump over the finish line). The weakest runners will skip charges two and four.

Once you have slammed nine charges into the elevator, the Prestige Gauntlet will finally end.

Q: What does «random rolls» mean? nine0028

A: This item is capable of rolling with random perks when it drops.
For example, every time you get a Better Devils from Shaxx, it has the potential to be a slightly different version than others before it — maybe better, maybe worse.

Q: Why are there some perks inside of a dashed box and some outside?

A: The dashed boxes contain the perks that Bungie’s API says are possibilities in each column when the item drops. nine0003

Q: What about the stuff outside of those boxes?

A: The perks outside of the boxes are a fixed, «curated» roll from Bungie. Sometimes, that fixed version of the item will drop fully masterworked
(see Nation of Beasts or Vouchsafe for examples). Other times, those perks are just for display, such as when you preview an item from your collection.

Q: Do the two sets of perks ever cross over? Can I get a Vouchsafe with double Dragonfly? nine0028

A: If the item is capable of randomly rolling one of its fixed-roll perks, it will be included in the random rolls section as well.

Q: What do you mean by «sunsetting»?

A: Bungie has announced that beginning in Season 12, weapons will have a cap on the power to which you are able to infuse them. We’re calling this process «sunsetting».

Q: How often does this happen?

A: There will be one large sunset beginning in Season 12, in which all* legendary weapons and armor from Seasons 1-8 will be retired. After that, weapons and armor will essentially be sunset 1 year after their release.

Q: Are there any exceptions?

A: Yes. Bungie has stated that exotics will not sunset. Beyond that, gear from the Last Wish and Garden of Salvation raids will play by different rules than standard armor and weapons, though Bungie has not been fully clear on what those rules will be.
nine0003

Q: So I can never use my Mountaintop / Luna’s Howl / etc again?

A: Not exactly. This change essentially only matters in activities where power matters, such as raids, Nightfalls, Trials, etc. In most open world activities and standard Crucible playlists, you will still be able to use whatever armor/weapons you want.

Furthermore, Bungie has also hinted that they intend to «re-issue» certain weapons/armor in the future, thus giving them another 12 months in the sun.
nine0003

You can read the explanation directly from Bungie here.

Q: What are masterwork rolls?

A: Most legendary weapons are capable of being Masterworked. The masterwork system is a way for you to upgrade your favorite weapons to their maximum potential.

Q: What does it take to upgrade a weapon to a masterwork?

A: Upgrading your weapons, in broad terms, takes a small amount of glimmer, legendary shards, and, most importantly, Enhancement Cores.
Depending on what Tier your weapon is at, the requirements to raise it to the next tier increase the closer the weapon is to being fully masterworked (Tier 10).
nine0003

Q: What are the benefits do I get for masterworking a weapon?

A: Each tier that you increase your weapon will grant a small buff to a single stat, chosen randomly when the item drops.
Beyond that, at Tier 5 you gain access to a kill tracker. At Tier 10, your multi-kills will generate orbs of light.

Q: So what are these «masterwork roll» stats?

A: These are the possible stats that upgrading your weapon will grant a bonus to. Depending on what tier you are at, you can grant anywhere from 1-10 additional points in any of the stats listed to your weapon.
nine0003

Q: Any catch with this?

A: The Bungie API currently says that all weapons can potentially roll with all stats as their masterwork stat. This obviously isn’t accurate, as Blast Radius isn’t applicable to, say, Auto Rifles.
The list you see on this page is trimmed to only show stats that actually appear on the weapon. However, it is possible that Bungie has additional logic behind the scenes that further filters these
possibilities to, for example, prevent certain items from being able to have an Impact masterwork. Until Bungie modifies the API files to 100% accurately display which masterwork stats are possible on
each item, take what you see here with a pinch of salt.

Destiny 2 raids

Raids is a game mode that requires a team of 6 players. These collaborative activities are challenging tasks that require communication for the team. Power level 300 is recommended for regular raids and 550 for the Forsaken raid In the Dreaming City (prestige raid increases the recommended power level). nine0003

While a raid group is within the raid’s restricted area, a unique respawn mechanic is applied rather than the normal 30 second death respawn timer. If a player dies in a restricted area, the rest of the team has a window of time to revive the player. If the player does not revive within this period of time, everyone who remains will be killed, thereby restarting the task. Additionally, a team can only resurrect players 5 times (team-wide, not per person) during each attempt within the restricted area — once all revives are used up, another death will result in a wipe (and respawns being returned) if the team doesn’t will be able to complete the meeting immediately after death. nine0003

Unlike the first Destiny game, downloads are not blocked during raids, which means that if you get the weapon you were looking for, you can immediately equip it without leaving the raid.

Exterminators of the Past is the third raid in Destiny 2. It is located on the ground in the back streets in the last city, this is the final battle with the fallen, the Black Armory storyline. The raid consists of 4 main stages, the action of which takes place on the streets of the city at night. At the first stage, you will be divided into three pairs (cartographer and defender, deliverymen). The cartographer determines the location of the marked berserker, the deliverers kill the berserker and deliver the spheres that have fallen from him to the desired objects. pairs of deliverers are changing, as they will have a debuff with a timeout that will not allow you to pick up spheres from the berserker. The second pair of deliverers should arrive at the desired generator and kill two minions there in order to make it possible to bring the sphere into the generator. The second stage of the raid is a spero race to a key point where two people must close the airlock with a simultaneous melee attack to prevent the minion from flying into the room. You are being chased by an angry minion on fire. Further actions take place at dawn and are divided into two stages. At the first stage in the tunnels under the ruins, you have to pick up 6 buffs (continuous, parallel, angular, two of the same per character or one each) and bring them into the generators to summon tanks on which you will shoot 4 pillars of the boss’s shelter. At the final stage of the raid, you are divided into three pairs as in the first stage (cartographer and defender, deliveries). The cartographer names the coordinates of the berserker. Deliverymen, after killing the berserker, pick up spheres and deliver them to the appropriate generators. Pairs of deliverers change as in the first stage of the raid. after the second group of deliverers of spheres is brought in, a tank will appear from which the boss will be knocked down and the stage of damage to the boss will begin. At the queen stage, all participants must pair up with the same buffs to increase the damage dealt. the radii from the buffs must not intersect, otherwise you will damage each other. nine0003
