Game Chronicles of Chaos online | review, guides, how to play

Chronicles of Chaos is a free online game for browsers and mobile smartphones, launched by Nexters in 2016 in RPG style, but without the participation of the hero in the moment of battle. Absolutely every hero, titan or pet is unique in its own way. This article briefly discusses the characters of the Chronicles of Chaos game with links to in-depth study.

Contents of the article

  1. Heroes of the Chronicle of Chaos
  2. Titans of the Chronicles of Chaos
  3. Pets of the Chronicles of Chaos

Heroes of the Chronicles of Chaos

At the moment there are 54 heroes in the game Chronicles of Chaos, which are divided into several main roles:

  • Tank
  • Damage
  • Support
  • Healer

The tank — the hero standing the very first to the opponent’s pack — must be the most tenacious in your pack (this is how a certain team of five heroes is called). A damage dealer is a hero who should deal the maximum amount of damage. Support characters should maximize other heroes in dealing damage. The healer is a hero who restores the health of allies. Nothing complicated, Chronicles of Chaos is no different from the games of this genre. The table below contains all the heroes of the game, by clicking on each you can see a detailed overview of the hero, variations of use and pumping.

Aurora Galahad Kira Astaroth Kai Phobos
Thea Daredevil Heidi Faceless Chubba Arachne
Orion Fox Ginger Dante Mojo Judge
Dark Star Artemis Markus Peppy Lien Cleaver
Ismail Lilith Luther Qing Mao Dorian Cornelius
Jet Helios Lars Christa Jorgen Maya
Joo Elmir Ziri Nebula K’arch Rufus
Celeste Astrid and Lucas Satori March Andvari Sebastian
Yasmin Corvus Morrigan Isaac Alvanor Tristan

Titans of Chaos Chronicles

Despite the fact that there are a lot of heroes in online game Chronicles of Chaos , there are only 12 titans. They are divided by elements — earth, fire, water. These characters are needed for two modes — titanite mining (a special «activity» for obtaining titan spheres in the dungeon, necessary for leveling and stardom) and guild wars. Each element has a special «boss» — a supertitan. This is Hyperion, Araji, Eden.

The logic of the titans is quite simple: fire beats earth, earth beats water, water beats fire. More in depth about the titans — in the corresponding section. Below is a table with all the titans, when you click, you can go to a specific one and study it in detail: skills, pumping.

FIRE WATER EARTH
Araji Hyperion Edem
Moloch Sigurd Angus
Volcano Nova Silva
Ignis Mairi Avalon

Chronicles of Chaos Pets

Pets in Chronicles of Chaos are special characters that are unlocked at player level 40. These magical creatures are always tied to one character, but they help your entire team. Each pet has:

  • Active abilities;
  • Passive skills;
  • Patronage Skills

Learn more about each pet, who suits whom and which ones need to be upgraded in a special article.

  • Daisy Ridley wore a blonde wig for her role as Viola.
  • Daisy Ridley has the same hairdo as Milla Jovovich in The Fifth Element (1997), plus wide bright orange braces and bright tight pants. There are also key plot similarities to Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016).
  • Todd» said/thought 205 times, «Viola» 23 times.
  • Nick Jonas spent 7 months perfecting his Southern accent for the role. Edge of Tomorrow» based on the best-selling book The Knife Never Let Go by Patrick Ness, the first part of the Chaos Walk trilogy.
  • Along with Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley, the film also stars Mads Mikkelsen, David Oyelowo, Nick Jonas, Demian Bichir, Kurt Sutter and Cynthia Erivo produced by Doug Davison (It), Allison Shearmur (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Hunger Games), Erwin Stoff (Edge of Tomorrow) and Alison Winter (Made in America») The screenplay was written by Patrick Ness and Christopher Ford («Spider-Man: Homecoming»).0010
  • The first book in Patrick Ness’ Chaos Walk trilogy was published in 2008 and immediately attracted attention for its central idea — an ingenious extrapolation of our world besieged by information overload. “People have always been very loud and noisy. And now we use technology and the media to bawl to the world and to each other,” says book author Patrick Ness, who also co-wrote the film. “And I thought: what if the next logical step is that you can neither run nor hide from these screams and screams that are emitted by the human brain. It’s a scary idea because the brain is a messy, chaotic place. And Noise is the living, breathing face of this chaos. When teenagers read Chaos Tread books, they don’t think it’s a distant future, it’s an emotional representation of their everyday life for them.»
  • It is this Noise, which is a unique and exciting element in the book, that attracted director Doug Liman to Chaos Tread. Doug Liman understood that The Noise provided a huge opportunity to show on the screen the phenomenon of unique horror, when no one can hide the truth and hide from it. “Noise is everything you think about, dream about, want and believe in,” continues Patrick Ness. “This is the human mind in its unedited, original form. The gender inequality provoked by the Noise greatly influenced the history of the New World. Noise is ubiquitous and is one of the most powerful elements of a film.»
  • Daisy Ridley joined the ranks of the army of fans of the Chaos Walk trilogy, and she admits that she read all the books avidly as soon as she received an offer to play Viola. “Like the books, our film is an amazing action adventure. But it also forces us to look at gender politics differently, says Daisy Ridley. — What will happen if some radical changes occur with representatives of one sex, but not with representatives of the other? How will this affect the dynamics and development within the community? Viola and Todd find themselves on a big adventure with a lot to discover and understand.» “It seems to me that this story is a kind of emotional dystopia and an expanded representation of the modern world of social networks, where people dump everything in a row, often without thinking about the consequences. The film reflects our current state of information overload and over-sharing,” adds Daisy Ridley. “Noise is one of the main characters in the film,” adds Nick Jonas, who plays Davy. – During rehearsals, we all thought about how our gestures and emotions express our thoughts. This is a kind of internal dialogue with oneself, which materializes, spills out.
  • It was extremely important for the artists and the director to understand and comprehend how the characters react to each other’s Noise, and how to show this — exclusively through sound? Or through a combination of sound and image? “The key to creating a cinematic vision for Noise was to find a balance between something purely abstract, where we represent the emotions of the characters through color, linework and movement; and conveying important elements of the story through Noise,” says Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Jeff White. The audience needs to feel what is going on in the minds of the characters. And we wanted them to understand the importance of both the Noise itself and how it makes the New World. Noise becomes a part of this world, materializes. And each character’s Noise is absolutely unique.»
  • Jeff White developed some intriguing concepts for this phenomenon, and Supervisor Matt Johnson came up with the final incarnation of Noise on screen. “I initially imagined Noise as something like noise pollution and some kind of microparticles in the air. “Noise is a by-product of the New World, and we wanted it to feel organic, not like fairy dust in the sky,” explains Matt Johnson. “When developing the visual solution for Noise, I was inspired by simple, familiar and understandable things: for example, micro-sprays of water sparkling in the air produced by a lawn irrigation system.”
  • Matt Johnson divided the types of Noise into several «levels» to show that stronger thoughts are more noticeable in space. To achieve this effect, all the actors first recorded the thoughts of their characters on audio. And then peaks and dips in loudness were noted on the frequency spectrum of audio recordings, which were later displayed in the image of their Noise.
  • According to Matt Johnson, Todd’s signature Noise can sometimes be powerful and realistic because he was born on this planet. In addition, Todd has a sort of «Noise Mantra» where he repeats his name to himself over and over again in an attempt to hide his secrets from others. But some of his deepest thoughts and desires, on the contrary, appear in the form of powerful images. As Johnson explains, this is already the «last level» of the Noise, during which images of people or animals materialize.
  • One of the main characters in the film, Mayor Prentiss, uses Noise at the level of a Zen Master. “He was able to control his mind. Prentiss, like Todd, has a «I am the circle, the circle is me» mantra to help him hide his innermost thoughts. For him, we created Noise in the form of an ethereal blue spiral, as if he were meditating,” says Matt Johnson. “The image of the Preacher consists of fire and smoke, so his Noise was supposed to scare other characters, and the viewer too. His Noise is a swarming, flaming mass that either flares up or weakens. It evokes strong feelings,” admits Matt Johnson, adding that he enjoyed designing and developing Preacher Noise the most.
  • Viola, who crashed on the planet New World, is the only survivor of the crew of the spaceship that brought the second wave of settlers to this distant planet. She makes an incredible impression on men who have not seen women for years. Patrick Ness in the books, and later Doug Liman in the film, wanted to present her in a way that readers and viewers had never seen before. “I’m tired of stories where the boy is brave and a little dumb, and the girl is smart and sassy. I always thought: why can’t they both be equally smart, scared, indecisive and curious, explains Patrick Ness. Viola is a strong girl, but there are times when she is insecure, just like Todd. I wanted Viola to be a full-fledged person with her strengths and weaknesses, strengths and weaknesses, consisting of contradictions, like all teenagers. Viola and Todd’s adventure isn’t about avoiding failure, it’s about dealing with those failures. And that it is possible to rely on someone other than yourself.”
  • Viola’s friend and guide in the New World is the young man Todd, who is on the threshold of his maturity. “Tom Holland was perfect for the role because he embodies a hidden innocence and a certain toughness at the same time. This combination is hard to find, but Tom has it,” says producer Doug Davison. Patrick Ness, who spent a lot of time on the set, adds: “Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley brought book characters to the big screen and brought a lot to them, adding their vision and character. And it’s great! I think the audience will genuinely love their characters.»
  • So does Munchie, Todd’s faithful dog. This four-legged hero of the trilogy has become one of the most beloved by readers. Therefore, the authors of the picture took the casting of the dog for the role of Munch very seriously. Many candidates were reviewed, and the choice fell on a dog named Winston. The whole film crew was delighted with Winston. And only one person was a little disappointed by the four-legged star of the film. “When I first saw Winston, he just walked past me without even looking. I was discouraged: after all, I invented it! And he pretends not to know me,” recalls Patrick Ness, laughing.
  • The main antagonist of the whole story is Mayor David Prentiss, the head of the village outside of which Todd lives. “Prentiss is a charming, ruthless and power-hungry man. He had already taken control of the settlement that bears his name, Prentisstown. But his goal is to rule the entire New World,” says Mads Mikkelsen, who embodied the image of the mayor on the screen. Prentiss takes a great interest in Todd, who has impressed him with his ability to control some of his Noise. At the same time, Prentiss has a difficult relationship with his own son Davy: he is disappointed in him, although the young man tries his best to live up to his father’s ambitions. “It’s a classic story of a son trying to win his father’s approval. And he notes the talent and potential of another, in this case Todd, in whom Prentiss sees the future of this miserable town, ”explains Mads Mikkelsen. Davy, of course, does not like all this. «Davy’s biggest motivator is jealousy, which drives him crazy, causing him to fall apart emotionally and physically,» says Nick Jonas, who plays Davy. “And he, in his own way, is the embodiment of physical violence and aggression that has consumed the entire settlement.
  • However, Todd’s real guardians are Ben (Demian Bichir) and Killian (Kurt Sutter), who work tirelessly on their beet farm outside of Prentisstown. “They have different approaches to raising Todd. Killian is strict and conservative, he tries not to show his affection for the young man. Ben is kind and caring. But there is an unshakable bond between the three of them that keeps them going,” says Kurt Sutter. “It is also important that Ben and Killian try to stay away from the aggression and hostility that pervades Prentisstown. And this — to live in peace with everyone — they teach Todd, ”adds Demian Bichir.
  • A far less peaceful figure is the former priest now known as the preacher Aaron, played by David Oyelowo. Haunted by the city’s terrible secret, the Preacher spews hatred, anger and vengeance through his Noise, which is overflowing with sounds of rage and fiery images. “The preacher is a renegade who has a clear vision of the spiritual landscape of the New World,” explains David Oyelowo. “And these convictions of his make him a dangerous, merciless and purposeful person who is ready to sweep away everything in his path.” According to David Oyelowo, the machete used by the Preacher helped him in shaping the character and image of his character. “But since I hadn’t been able to properly master this weapon for a long time, director Doug Liman and I decided that I should not unsheath the machete too often, so that there would be some kind of trouble,” adds David Oyelowo with a laugh.
  • Before a fatal showdown with Prentiss’s squad hunting Viola, Ben and Killian insist that Todd run with the girl to the nearby town of Farbranch. Arriving in Farbranch, the couple discover that not only are there women among its inhabitants, but that it is also led by a woman named Hildy. “Hildy is a warrior with a big heart,” says Cynthia Erivo, who plays the character. “She is ruthlessly honest, blunt, strong, yet human. She has a warmth that you don’t see in Prentisstown. Hildy is the rock that starts the rockfall of discovery for Todd and Viola. »
  • Much of Chaos Walk was filmed two hours from Montreal, in a remote mountain forest. In this unique, virgin, alien-like landscape, director Doug Liman managed to fully recreate the harsh existence of the characters in the picture. Production designer Dan Weil, who previously worked with Lyman on The Bourne Identity and Made in America, added futuristic and industrial structures to the wooded area while building the settler village. “All the technology that brought them to this world is already too outdated in the 50 years that have passed since they crash-landed on the planet,” says Dan Weil. – Since then, people have not been able to create anything new, and as a result, the equipment began to fail. People may not want to live in such conditions, but they simply had no choice. They could only use what nature gave them: water, wood, stones. And it was from these improvised means and elements imitating the remains of the ship that we tried to recreate their world, ”says Dan Weil.
  • The main settlements of the colonists — Prentisstown and Farbranch — are made in contrast. Prentysstown is testosterone-drenched, the tough guys who built the city like an army camp live there, and their dwellings are more like barracks. The Farbranch is a farming society founded by women and run by the formidable Hildy. Weil says he modeled the settlement after an Israeli kibbutz, a communal agricultural settlement. “The people of Farbranch work the land together. And there is definitely a more hospitable environment than in militaristic Prentisstown,” Weil explains.
  • Costume designer Kate Hawley also had to consider the intersection of the settlers’ lives before they arrived in the New World and the one they live now. “I decided to give the settlers a somewhat rough and unkempt look. Their clothes are the legacy of two worlds. The overalls they wore on the spaceship have now become their farm work overalls, more like those worn by western characters,” explains Keith Hawley.
  • Stunt coordinator Simon Crane, who worked on such projects as Edge of Tomorrow, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Stories, Salt, X-Men: The Last Stand. According to Crane, one of the most difficult scenes was the chase scene in the mountain river. “Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley and David Oyelowo spent several days in icy water, resisting a powerful current and weaving between rocks. And they coped well with all the difficulties, showing themselves to be real masters of action scenes,” Simon Crane admires the actors. Equally challenging, but also very impressive thanks to the ubiquitous Noise, were the fight scenes. “When choreographing the battles, we had to take into account the spatial requirements of Noise so that neither he nor the artists obscure each other,” explains Simon Crane.
  • No one heard Viola’s ship crash even though it was a short walk from Todd’s house.
  • Viola goes to bed in Farbranch barefoot. When Todd knocks and enters to read the diary, she is suddenly wearing a pair of black boots.
