How to get Fortnite x Batman skins: Harley Quinn, Armored Batman, more

Fortnite players are able to get some interesting DC skins thanks to the Batman x Fortnite comic book run, which combines the DC Universe together with the battle royale. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

DC and Fortnite’s official crossover has been a long time coming. The two originally collaborated on a Batman skin back a few years back and after a few more cosmetics from the comic book universe made their way into the game, the two franchises geared up for Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point, a full-blown comic book crossover.

As previously announced, fans who purchase each book in the series receive a special in-game item. Some are skins, others are Gliders, and we’ve got the full rundown on all there is to know.

Issue #1 Item: Rebirth Harley Quinn Outfit

This is one that we’ve known for the longest time but it’s still nice to get a confirmation. Fans who purchase the first issue of the Batman/Fortnite comic book will receive the Rebirth Harkey Quinn Outfit.

This outfit is based, as the name suggests, on her look from the DC Rebirth run in the comics. It sports a red and black jacket, alongside her classic red and blue pigtails. It’s a pretty interesting look and sets itself apart from the other Harley Quinn skins that have been featured in the game.

If you don’t want to pick up the comic book issue for yourself, it also became available to purchase within the Fortnite Item Shop in June 2021.

The first DC outfit is Rebirth Harley Quinn.

Issue #2 Item: Batman Zero Wing Glider

Fans of the Caped Crusader himself will be glad to know that the second issue of Batman x Fortnite: Zero Point comes with a code for a brand new glider that’s themed after the iconic superhero.

Leakers previously reported that an image of the glider was uploaded to the official DC website, but swiftly taken down. It was officially released on May 4 along with the Batman Zero Outfit.

Issue #3 Item: Catwoman Grappling Claw Pickaxe

The third issue of the Batman x Fortnite crossover saw another new item added into the game on May 18. This time around, fans could grab Catwoman’s Grappling Claw as a unique Harvesting Tool.

This could work as a great pairing for the Catwoman skin if you’ve been able to get your hands on the rare Item Shop goodie.

Issue #4 Item: Deathstroke’s Destroyer Glider

The fourth issue delivered the second Batman crossover Glider on June 1. By purchasing the latest release, players could grab the Deathstroke Destroyer Glider. The design itself is relatively simple, featuring almost a triangle shape, with grey and orange accents, mirroring Deathstroke’s color scheme.

While it’s not as cool as an actual skin for the character, it’s still a unique design and one that DC fans might be interested in.

Issue #5 Item: Harley Quinn’s Revenge Back Bling

Up next was some unique Back Bling available through Issue #5. By purchasing the latest release on June 15, players were able to access Harley Quinn’s Revenge Back Bling alongside the Rebirth Harley Quinn Outfit.

This Back Bling takes after one of Harley’s gag weapons, with a countdown timer exploding in confetti rather than actual dynamite.

Epic Games

Issue #5 came with another set of Harley Quinn-themed items.

Issue #6 Item: Batarang Axe Harvesting Tool

Last but not least, the final issue on July 6 brought another unique Harvesting Tool. This time around, players could redeem the exclusive code to secure the Batarang Axe Harvesting Tool.

Moreover, redeeming this final code also provided another special unlock. Complimenting the new Harvesting Tool, an exclusive Batman skin was also released on the same day.

Epic Games

The Batarang Axe Harvesting Tool was made available on July 6.

Bonus Armored Batman Zero Outfit

Players who purchase all six issues of the comic receive the special Armored Batman Zero Outfit. While the design of the skin was hinted at on one of the covers, during the Batman/Fortnite trailer, fans got their first official look at the skin.

The suit features a very different design from the classic Batman look that everyone knows and loves.

The Armored Batman suit features, as one might imagine, more armor than the standard look, but it also looks more survival-esque as well.

Epic Games

Fans got their first look at the Armored Batman outfit in the comic’s official trailer.

As of the time of writing, neither DC or Epic Games have announced if fans will be able to get their hands on the skin through the Item Shop down the line.

However, given the fact that it’s a reward for buying all issues, it seems unlikely.

Review of the comic «Batman / Fortnite. Epicenter»

How Batman got into the world of dancing and construction.

Especially for this text, I did not sit down for Fortnite (although once I already played for two whole hours for the sake of other material), I did not thoroughly study the mythology of the game, and, in principle, almost did not prepare. In simple terms, I did this not at all for the sake of a lengthy introduction, but in order to test the most important criterion for me for a “good crossover” — accessibility to a new reader. After all, say, a certain percentage of people who know nothing about the cult game, but love Batman as a character, will definitely sit down for this comic, absorbing all the fresh stories about him? I think yes.

Looking ahead, the short answer to my question about the «accessibility» of the book to off-topic readers is yes. Longer — not really.

Batman / Fortnite launches. Epicenter «with, as expected, the Bat-part of the plot and Gotham, which is again under the threat of another space portal. Batman, like a valiant hero, is eager to solve the problem, but thanks to the “successfully” emerging villain from the back, he falls into the rift and finds himself in the local battle world. At first, you may be put off by the local syllable of authorship 9Christos Gage’s 0011 , complicated by literary constructions, and yet — give this comic a chance.

Indeed, after one and a half issues, even a critical fan of DC Comics will be able, pretty scratching his head in bewilderment, to be imbued with a local plot, characters and a world that is updated every 22 minutes. A distinctive feature of «Epicenter» was the work of Gage on Bruce as an independent character who can rely on his own skills and instincts, but not on memory.

Let me explain: every 22 ill-fated minutes, the «mortal battle» ends, the dead are resurrected, and the progress of the heroes is reset, — in fact, like their memories. The only thing that the characters use during the battles is innate skills, muscle memory and emotions, which for some reason do not disappear with the zeroing of the location.

This leads to the fact that the local Batman is an almost ideal version of the hero, not burdened with a sense of guilt, but because of that he lost in charisma, as well as experience. However, to be honest, watching this variation is a pleasure: action scenes delight the eye with ingenuity, and Wayne’s personal detective line is saturated with numerous arguments, observations and experiments, which are sometimes very lacking in the same Detective Comics.

True, not everything is so rosy: Epicenter’s narrative includes a «hidden villain» who will pretend to be a positive hero until the last moment, and … you will understand who he is only when you see him for the first time.

Another problem with the comic is related to the lore of the universes. As I said, the first issue and a half have to be literally endured through the strength, as the part of the story that takes place in Gotham relies on literally every worn out and battered cliché that you can think of about this fictional city. Commissioner Gordon and the Dark Knight are having a conversation? Let Jim light up his pipe at this moment and say something like «The rift just took… and opened. Like an eye. Appeared like a crack in glass” .

Should Harley Quinn appear in the comic? So let’s her first monologue be devoted to how she «cleans up the poop after the hyena», and therefore is late for the «movement». At the same time, the end of the line, surprisingly, contrasts sharply with its beginning: here you have references to the recent events of Tom King’s series , and Scott Snyder’s plots , and even an attempt to fit the events of the book into a specific chronological period and the official canon of the main universe.

In general, one gets the feeling that while working on the comic, Christos bothered to sit down at the materials sent by the publisher and get a grasp of the modern lines about the characters.

As for the Fortnite part, its heroes and lore, I understood them at the minimum level that is necessary to read the comic. Probably, the reader doesn’t need more, but a couple of questions in the spirit of “who did this important one appear in the final?” and “why is there a cat running around on steroids?” will still be relevant.

What I definitely cannot but praise the comic for is the Russian edition of Azbuka . It would seem that a standard hardcover book with selective varnishing on the cover — what’s wrong with that?

However, the comic comes with a batarang bookmark sealed in film, on the back of which is hidden the key code , which opens the skins of DC heroes, as well as themed items. Extremely cool thing, which, fortunately for you, I do not need — take to your health.

Batman/Fortnite: Ground Zero is a good crossover that can be read in isolation from the game of the same name and the DC Comics series.
