Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti SLI 4 Way | Is It Work in or Not?

1080 Ti Sli can support up to 4-way but it is unofficial. Nvidia does not allow SLI more than 2-way anymore. Achieving 1080 Ti Sli 4 Way requires a lot of tweaking, but it works. Though it will not give you any performance boost.
Although Sli is pretty much dead now, you can still Sli your 1080 Ti up to 4-way but it will just show results on 3D Mark without making any use of it. If you want to play games with it, you will be disappointed to know that it does not work for games.
‘Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti SLI 4 Way’ – Possibility
Scalable Link Interface (Sli) is not used at all now. Nvidia officially announced that no implicit Sli profiles will be provided for any RTX 2XXX or earlier. But there are some ways to tweak by which you can Sli your 1080 Ti 4-way.
The ‘not supporting’ issue is a cause of a software issue. And thus, you can force it to work, but there is no difference between 1080 Ti Sli 2-way and 1080 Ti Sli 4-way. Again, the physical connector can only connect two cards. So, forcing it to work will not give you any benefit.
4-Way 1080 Ti Sli for 144 FPS Gaming
For gaming, GTX 1080 Ti Sli 4-way does not work. It may show some effect on video rendering software but the difference is very low. And in gaming, there is no difference at all between a 2-way Sli 1080 Ti setup and a 4-way Sli 1080 Ti setup.
Using the latest drivers, some games Witcher 3 and Battlefield 4 show that the games load only two graphics cards and the other two remain 100% idle. Again, using dx12, some games like GTA V and Tomb Raider were not even loading. It was just a black screen. Though removing 2 of the GPUs solved those issues.
Temperature
To construct a 4-way 1080 Ti Sli, you should have a 7 slot motherboard. Or you connect the cards with external slots to make room between two cards. Because in 4-way Sli, there is a chance of a temperature rise. Because each card needs room for airflow, however, 4-way Sli is so difficult.
Sufficient space between cards also increases the performance as the temperature is low.
