wireless features
The WiFi wireless network of this equipment is Simultaneous triple band with WiFi 6 and AX6000 class. In the 2.4GHz band we can achieve a speed of up to 1,201Mbps, thanks to its four antennas in MU-MIMO 4T4R configuration, at 40MHz channel width and at 1024QAM of WiFi 6. In each of the two 5GHz bands We will be able to achieve a speed of up to 2,402Mbps, since it incorporates four antennas in a MU-MIMO 4T4R configuration for each frequency band, in addition, it supports 80 MHz channel width and the Wi-Fi 6 standard with all the features.
This router supports the main technologies of the Wi-Fi 6 standard, such as beamforming to focus the wireless signal, the MU-MIMO to transmit data to multiple clients simultaneously, the OFDMA to optimize the wireless network and allow more WiFi clients to be connected, and finally, we also have Target Wake Time that will allow us to put WiFi clients on hold, saving on battery.
The most important thing about this router is that it supports FRITZ!MeshAVM technology for form a complete WiFi Mesh network with other FRITZ!Box routers, FRITZ!Repeater repeaters and also with FRITZ!Powerlines. Of course, we have WiFi roaming with 802.
11k/v standards, Smart Connect with band-steering, and we also have the possibility to configure WPA2-Personal or WPA2/WPA3-Personal for wireless network security.
Ethernet ports, USB and more
This router has one 2.5G Multigigabit Ethernet port for the Internet WAN, although this port could also work as a LAN if we configure this router as a WiFi access point, to complement the operator’s router. The firmware allows us to configure any type of connection on this WAN port, including fiber operators that need a VLAN ID to connect correctly.
This router also incorporates a total of 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports for LAN dedicated, it also has one high-performance USB 3.0 port with which we will obtain a great speed of reading and writing.
The FRITZ!Box 4060 has a DECT base to connect wireless phones, and we have the possibility of connecting up to 6 FRITZ! Fon or other manufacturers’ wireless phones, in addition, we can also connect Smart Home devices to automate certain tasks in our home.
FRITZ! OS Firmware
One of the most notable aspects of a router AVM is the operating system FRITZ!OS, and it is that it is one of the operating systems for routers more stable, complete with hundreds of configuration options, and with a really intuitive graphical user interface. This firmware for routers will allow us to configure the wireless network in detail, form a Mesh network, separate the frequency bands into different SSIDs, activate the guest WiFi network, manage IP telephony thanks to the DECT base that it incorporates, we can also share files and folders on the local network and the Internet.
