The latest PC patch for Far Cry 4 began rolling out late Monday, according to a recent post on the official Far Cry blog.Patch 1.4.0 should fix the blank screen issues players faced: namely, the black screen that would appear on launch, and the grey screen encountered at the end of Outpost Master Missions.

«We expect this to provide a much smoother experience for our players,» states the Far Cry 4 team.LoadingThe post also mentions the team’s investigation into additional player feedback on mouse acceleration and key bindings, plus the black shadow bug appearing for SLI users.

«Those should be tackled in future patches,» says the team.

Patch Notes:

  • Fixed the «black screen» issue PC players were experiencing when certain USB peripherals were plugged in.
  • Fixed the «grey screen» issue some PC players were may have encountered after the Outpost Master Mission.

LoadingUbisoft released Far Cry 4 for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on November 18. Players experienced some issues with the game’s multiplayer on launch, along with additional crashes on PC and PS3. Several of these problems have since been resolved.

Ubisoft Details Far Cry 4’s Latest Patch Update

It an attempt to resolve a few nasty bugs plaguing Far Cry 4Ubisoft has revealed a preview of notes for their second post-launch patch that aim to make the game running as smooth as possible.

Like many November releases this month, notably Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, there’s no denying that the infestation of glitches and bugs within new AAA releases is disappointing to the general public. Fortunately, Ubisoft is working hard on correcting any post-launch problems with Far Cry 4 in order to keep the experience as smooth as possible.

You can check out the patch notes below. We’re hoping this clears up most of the game’s bugs, but there’s no telling for certain what else might catch us by surprise in the coming days.

Main Menu

  • The player will now hear ambient sound if they return tot he Main Menu from the Uplay App.

Progression

  • Players will now be able to achieve 100% progression if they do not drive a snowmobile when the vehicle is available.
  • Players will now be able to reach 100% progression after the “Day 1” Patch is applied.

PC

  • NVIDIA HairWorks fully enabled for GeForce GTX gamers.

Xbox 360/PlayStation 3

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to complete the weapons collection even if they purchased every weapon (including main and side quests).
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from accessing the Main Menu if they accepted a game invite from an inactive profile.

Xbox One

  • The correct error message is now displayed when the user tries to access the Options menu while paused when they are attempting to download a map while there is no connection to the Ubisoft servers.
  • The player will now return to the Main Menu if connection to Xbox Live is lost due to a disconnect during a host migration.
  • Users will no longer become stuck in an infinite loading loop if they attempt to change profiles while exiting a PvP session.
