First-person shooter Far Cry 4 creative director Alex Hutchinson spoke in a recent Major Nelson podcast about the difference between versions of the game for old and new consoles.

He immediately clarified that the gaming impressions of the passage and the gameplay itself in all versions will be the same, however, PS3 and Xbox 360 will be noticeably inferior to their younger opponents. The Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game will feature much higher quality fur on animals, grass on the ground, leaves on trees, and other details. It is clear that they will differ in resolution.

He also noted that unlike, for example, the Assassin’s Creed series, whose games are originally created for consoles and then ported to PC, Far Cry 4’s main platform is PC. According to him, this will most positively affect the visual quality of both the PC edition and the PS4 and Xbox One versions.

Far Cry 4 is expected to release on November 18th.
