Evolve Hunting Season 2 Roll Out and Structure

Lennox

Lennox, our new Assault, and the first character from Hunting Season 2 is now available on most platforms. This will be a rolling update across all platforms, but we expect her to be available by 9 PM PT on all platforms.

Lennox is the first Hunter in Evolve to feature a melee attack. Her ‘Thunderchild’ mechanized suit is equipped with a Plasma Lance that deals massive amounts of damage in close combat, while her Autocannon and Thunder Strike attack allow Lennox to fight when outside of melee range.

Hunting Season 2

Evolve Hunting Season 2 is currently available for purchase for $24.99. In addition to Lennox, Hunting Season 2 will include three more Hunter characters and one Monster character, all of which will be made available prior to March 31, 2016.

Those who purchase the new Monster and Hunters as part of Hunting Season 2 will also receive an additional exclusive skin with the launch of each of the five new included playable characters.

Pricing and Content

Along with this release of new content we are making adjustments to the pricing of all post-launch playable characters.

Starting with the update, we are adjusting the price of individual monsters to $9.99 and individual hunters to $4.99, both present and future. In addition, Hunting Season 1 has been adjusted to $14.99 and as a bonus we have added 4 exclusive Artic skins to the package. If you’ve already purchased Hunting Season 1, you’ll get the Arctic skins as well, with the update, at no extra charge.

Those of you that purchased the Evolve PC Monster Race Edition will receive all content featured in Hunting Season 2: Four Hunters, One Monster, and five exclusive skins, one for each of the upcoming characters. In order to make things a bit more clear, we have renamed our Season Passes to Hunting Seasons, something we feel better represents the content you receive. Our goal is to continue to provide you all with new characters and content as long as there is a hunger for it. We are also continuing to work on new ways to provide you with free content and additions to the game. We will continue our weekly challenges which have already given out thirteen skins, and have new updates in the works to add new content and features to Evolve, as we did with our Observer Tool and Arena Mode updates. There is one feature we are especially excited about, and will have more to reveal in the future.

It was somewhere in 2013, it seems. Then I was visiting at the dacha, and in the evenings on the Karusel channel they played the first season of the animated series «Boonie Bears» , in Russian dubbing known as «Bears-neighbors» . He sunk into my soul even then.

I remember that in an article on the «Looney Tunes» universe I once mentioned this animated series, but now I decided to make a specific review of almost every cartoon in this universe. nine0003

So, what was the plot of «Bears-Neighbours» about? A lumberjack named Victor von Fichtenstein (ï强强 ;ï頭強 ; Guāng tóu Qiáng/kon tu t’ya in the original), known simply as Vic, arrives in a forest area (its name is revealed in the subsequent trilogy of the animated series — Pointry) to cut down trees and get rich.

But he does not succeed for the simple reason that two Himalayan bears living in a tree trunk — Briard/Briar (熊二; xióng èr/ So Gar (Xiong Da) in the original) and Bramble (熊二; xióng èr/Su Or (Xiong Er) in the original), with sensitive hearing, so much so that for a thousand miles from their home they can catch the sound of a chainsaw and the crackle of a freshly sawn pine, they always find many by no means humane ways in order to defend the forest and annoy the lumberjack.

The third minor character, the little squirrel, also constantly appeared here. That his real name is Warren , in the Russian dubbing we learn from the content of only of the second season , however, in the English dubbing, the name of the little squirrel sounded in the very first episode.

The whole joke of the first season of the animated series boiled down to the fact that Bramble the bear almost always got stuck in the window of Vic’s dwelling, and the animals every now and then had to make a lot of effort to get him out in a matter of seconds before the lumberjack appeared.

There is also an element of farce , when the bears use one of their evil tricks — they take away the helmet or hat from Vic, put a stone in the gun or throw a bee or wasp hive towards the lumberjack.

And the element of the eternal chase of the bears for the lumberjack, then the lumberjack himself with a gun through the forest and completely brings the animated series closer to such creations as the above-mentioned «Looney Tunes», «Tom and Jerry», «Zig and Sharko», «Oggy and the cockroaches « . However, «Boonie Bears» is mainly the English name of the animated series, but in the original it sounds like 熊出沒 (pinyin: xióng chū mò), and literally translates as «Bear hunting» / «Strays» bears» . The animated series is produced by Fantawild Holdings Inc. .

The first season of the animated series was the only one where we observed some kind of duality of languages. That is, at first the characters said something in Chinese, and then an inept translation of their dialogue into Russian followed. What is surprising, it was the Russian dubbing of «Bears-neighbors» that turned out to be so. In the English version, I did not notice such a dissonance.

From the 35th episode of the first season ( «Vik’s New Phone» ) to the 47th episode ( «Golf!» ) the voice of the announcer and Briard in the Russian dubbing of the cartoon was voiced by other people. Although at 36-39episodes had original voice acting. In episodes 76 ( «Disco Dancer» ) and 102 episodes ( «Jazz Trouble» ) the voice of the squirrel Warren (Russian dubbing) was voiced by other people.

The plot of the second season remained the same — it focused on Vic chasing bears with a gun. True, the creators made some changes to it — Vic was retrained from a lumberjack to hunters, and Bramble the bear, who was, a la Winnie the Pooh and Baloo from Disney’s The Jungle Book, was obsessed with eating honey, now decided for no reason from this to leave the forest and see the world.

Many minor characters have also been added, most of which are talking animals. However, the emphasis on their forest adventures and confrontation is not always done. I dare say that the dubbing of this character differs significantly from what we heard in the first season. Then Vic’s voice was not so squeaky, he looked like he could be given from 40 to 50 years old. There are also five separate animated series that have never been translated into Russian. This cat is a two-faced creature. He can be both on the side of the bear brothers and intrigue Vika, thereby betraying him, and on the side of the lumberjack, who sometimes treats him with fish. In a word, this is a very freedom-loving and impartial animal. nine0003

But even he has a little secret — despite the fact that Fabian meows, as it should be for cats, he is perfectly able to speak human language, he just does not want to attract too much attention to himself.

It is Fabian who is the «whipping boy» for the lumberjack Vik, who often takes out his anger on the unfortunate cat. Once Vika managed to turn (not without the help of death threats) Fabian into a dog when he stuttered with fear and suddenly began to bark.

Fantawild has released as many as eight full-length cartoons under the Boonie Bears brand. Either cooperation with the Disney studio, or numerous accusations against the creators of showing excessive cruelty on the screen forced the Chinese animators to completely change the storyline.

Now the emphasis was not on the endless confrontation between the bears and Vic, although this was actually shown in one of the winter full-length episodes, but on their friendship and mutual assistance associated with the fight against evil, which threatened both the forest itself and its inhabitants, and other people.

Also, full-length films and subsequent animated series of this universe in Russian dubbing did not always have the usual name — «Bears-neighbors». Translators kept coming up with newer and more sonorous ones, as far as fantasy could allow — «The Bear Brothers», «Buni Bears», «Bears — Brothers», «Funny Bear Cubs» …

So, the first animated film based on the animated series — «Boonie Bears to the Rescue» («Bears Neighbors to the Rescue») — was shown in China on January 17, 2014.

The plot of this cartoon told us about the acquaintance of bears and Vik with a robot-archaeologist named Coco , who was trying to find the ancient lost world called «Fantasy» and its main treasure — Golden Antles deer guardian.
