Summer Game Fest 2022 is ready to fill the void that E3 left once again, and here are all the official streams — including YouTube, Twitch, and Steam!

It’s finally time for E3 2022, or, to use its official name, Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest. Expectations are high for this year’s showcase, but the residual effects of COVID on the gaming industry (and the multitude of delays which followed) have clearly impacted most studios’ release schedules. Rumors of God of War Ragnarök’s delay to 2023 are only the latest to emerge — but that doesn’t mean players can’t still expect some great Summer Game Fest reveals.

Summer Game Fest 2022 will run from today (Thursday, June 9) until the beginning of next week, and, in addition to the main show, also includes the Future Games Show, Tribeca Games Spotlight, the Devolver Digital Marketing Countdown to Marketing, Sunday’s Xbox & Bethesda showcase, the PC Gaming Show, and a Capcom event on Monday. It’s going to be a busy week for video games — and it all starts right now.

Thankfully, all of these Summer Game Fest events can be streamed online for free. Below are videos and stream links for where you can watch Summer Game Fest live later today:

Watch Summer Game Fest 2022 on YouTube

The official Summer Game Fest YouTube stream is actually located on The Game Awards’ channel. Games advertised in the description include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, The Callisto Protocol, Cuphead, One Piece Odyssey, Gotham Knights, and an appearance by Dwayne «The Rock» Johnson — which will be related to Fortnite.

Summer Game Fest Twitch Stream & Drops

Summer Game Fest will also be streamed live on The Game Awards’ Twitch channel. On Twitter, Keighley has said that viewers will be able to obtain special Twitch drops for Summer Game Fest during the event, although it is unclear if this will last for the entire weekend.

Summer Game Fest On Steam

Steam users will also be able to watch Summer Game Fest live through the events Steam hub page. Since one of the more common trends in recent years has been developers announcing games which are either «Available Now!» or have a «Free Demo Now Live!» during video game showcases, watching Summer Game Fest on Steam might be the quickest way to hop straight into playing something new.

When Summer Game Fest 2022 Starts

Summer Game Fest streams will begin at 11:00 AM PT on Thursday, June 9. The main showcase is expected to last roughly two hours and be filled with «mostly» games players have heard of already, although Keighley has teased exclusive reveals will still be happening. There is no E3 in 2022, but Summer Game Fest should fill that void nicely.

Fable, Pragmata, And More Big Games Missing From Not-E3 2022

Following last night’s back-to-back JRPG stream, not-E3 2022 is officially a wrap. It was a weird one this year. Bethesda finally showed off more than eight seconds of Starfield gameplay, four years after its initial announcement. Several prestigious studios announced remakes of cultural touchstones that may or may not need the remake treatment. A series of indie-driven showcases handily upstaged the big AAA events.

It was made even weirder, too, thanks to the outright absence of major publishers like EA and Take-Two Interactive. For all intents and purposes, Ubisoft was MIA, save for a five-minute announcement about an Assassin’s Creed announcement coming in September. Nintendo didn’t air a Nintendo Direct, as it traditionally does each June, though the rumor mill is (very reasonably) convinced that one is coming later this month.

But despite telegraphed absences, there were some safe expectations that didn’t quiiite pan out. Here are eight major games that didn’t show up during this year’s video game marketing season.

Screenshot: Microsoft / Kotaku

During last year’s E3, Obsidian revealed a sequel to The Outer Worlds, its 2019 capitalism-skewering role-playing shooter. This year, Microsoft focused its big annual Xbox showcase on games “planned for the next 12 months.” The Outer Worlds 2 was a no-show. A graphic published after the event, meant to outline games coming out for the rest of this year and into next year, didn’t mention The Outer Worlds 2 either. It’s safe to assume this sequel—one of four revealed games in the pipeline from Obsidian—isn’t coming out for a while.

Screenshot: Microsoft / Kotaku

Even without The Outer Worlds 2, Obsidian has two games—the side-scrolling Penitent and the full release of A Bug’s Life sim Grounded—due later this year. But it’s also been two years since Obsidian has revealed Avowed, which was first teased with a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it trailer during not-E3 2020 and has seen little info follow. In sitting out this year’s not-E3, Avowed has been absent for two years of high video game marketing season. All we know about it so far is that it’s a first-person RPG in a fantasy setting.

Screenshot: Sony

It’s not surprising, per se, that the action game God of War Ragnarök was absent from not-E3. Prior to its big presser, Sony explicitly said that the event would primarily spotlight third-party and virtual reality games. Plus, in recent years, Sony has opted to showcase first-party PlayStation games in dedicated, singularly focused livestreams. But seeing as Ragnarök is unquestionably one of the most anticipated games of the year, its absence during this year’s conferences was keenly felt. A recent Bloomberg report suggested it’s still on track for a fall release, though, so a formal announcement may be imminent.

Screenshot: Capcom

Pragmata is still an enigma. First announced in June 2020 and slated for a 2022 release, Capcom delayed the sci-fi game last November. It’s now planned for next year, but there’s no indication about what it actually…is. Capcom’s big event this year was all Resident Evil, Resident Evil, Resident Evil, and more Resident Evil, with, sure, a dash of some other games. Pragmata was not one of them.

Image: Microsoft

Seeing as Halo is Microsoft’s flagship, fans expected some sort of news about Halo Infinite, be that a new multiplayer mode (the studio Certain Affinity is reportedly working on…something for Halo) or an expansion to the campaign (Microsoft recently trademarked a phrase related to events from Infinite’s narrative). But the only Halo news at not-E3 2022 was, um, two batches of tie-in DLC. Fall Guys, Mediatonic’s effervescent platformer royale, will receive a slew of time-limited costumes themed after Halo characters at the end of the month. Microsoft Flight Sim, meanwhile, will let players fly Halo’s iconic pelican transport vehicle.

Screenshot: Rare

Rare’s Everwild has been under wraps for about three years. Announced in 2019, Microsoft showed it off again the following year. Everwild wasn’t anywhere to be seen during the big Xbox event at E3 2021, which raised eyebrows. But it quickly made sense: VGC reported that the game was internally rebooted. Reportedly, Rare doesn’t expect it out until 2024.

Screenshot: Microsoft / Kotaku

In 2020, Microsoft announced a revival of Fable, the long-dormant series of fantasy games from Lionhead (RIP). The next entry is under the purview of Playground Games, which released open-world racer Forza Horizon 5 last fall and has a Hot Wheels-themed expansion for that game in the works right now. If Fable is even a fraction as eye-poppingly gorgeous as Forza Horizon 5, oh man.

Screenshot: Microsoft / Kotaku

The other big revival from Microsoft was announced two years ago and has yet to be seen since: Perfect Dark, the series of future-chic espionage shooters, is coming back. But Rare, the original developer, isn’t leading the project. The next entry is being developed by The Initiative, a new studio.

Game development takes longer than ever these days, exacerbated by a number of factors, from the ballooning scale of big-budget games to the woes of developing those games in the middle of a pandemic. Short takeaway: We’ll see ‘em when they’re ready.

E3 2022 Schedule — what happens and when

Updated:

  • ESA and E3
  • Summer Games Festival
  • June 12,
  • June 12 — PC game show
  • Developer Day
  • EA Play
  • Sony, Nintendo and others

The ESA may have officially canceled the event, but the E3 2022 schedule lives on. Through other events such as the recently announced Xbox and Bethesda Games showcase, our very own Future Games show, The PC Gaming Show and Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, the E3 season itself.

Earlier this month, reports and then an official statement confirmed what many had been suspecting for many months. Usually E3 is held as a physical event in mid-June at the Los Angeles Convention Center, but due to the pandemic for the past two years, it has been a digital event. We’re not even getting it this year, but it seems like Geoff Keighley’s summer game is stepping in to fill the void and revise the E3 2022 schedule. updating this page with all the latest information.

ESA and E3

E3 2022

First, ESA, the association that runs E3, confirmed that there would be no physical event for E3 2022 due to ongoing cycle and health issues.

“Due to the ongoing health risks associated with Covid-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022,” the ESA said in a statement back in January. «We remain incredibly excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details.»

At the end of March, just ten weeks from when the show would normally take place, industry insiders began sharing that they had received emails from the ESA, announcing that even the digital version of E3 2022 had been cancelled.

ESA then officially confirmed the complete cancellation of E3 2022, including the digital show.

“E3 will return in 2023 with a vibrant showcase that celebrates new and exciting video games and industry innovation,” the organizer shared in a statement with GamesRadar+.

“We previously announced that E3 would not be held in person in 2022 due to the ongoing health risks surrounding Covid-19. Today we will announce that there will also be no E3 digital demo in 2022.»

«Instead, we will dedicate all of our energies and resources to delivering a vibrant physical and digital E3 experience next summer,» the post reads.

«We look forward to bringing E3 to fans around the world live from Los Angeles in 2023.»

Summer Games Festival

Jeff Keighley Summer Games Fest

However, despite the E3 2022 official event being cancelled, it seems that Jeff Keighley’s own event will step in to replace his. Kaley has confirmed that Summer Game Fest is returning this year with an event at some point in June.

While the schedule for the event and any potential partners has yet to be announced, Kaley threw in some clues.

The official Summer Game Fest website will detail that it will include «Slate of Digital Live Stream Shows» featuring «an impressive live show hosted by Geoff Keighley filled with world premieres.»

It also appears that live streams from Game Publishers — still TBA — will also be completed as part of Summer Game Fest.

June 12

Xbox and Bethesda

Microsoft and its associated game studios — especially Bethesda — stole the spotlight at E3 2021, with its demo being the main highlight of announcement season, and it looks like it will do it again this year.

Microsoft has confirmed that it will host a joint Xbox and Bethesda Games showcase on June 12th at 10:00 AM ET. / 1 pm ET / 6 pm BST.

While Microsoft’s Twitter teaser image doesn’t give away much, the Eclipse effect suggests that the hotly anticipated Starfield will dominate. We should also take a look at other confirmed upcoming Xbox Series X games, including Redfall.

The Future Games show will return on June 12th, so while ESA may have officially canceled E3, we’ll still be coming to the party. We’re bringing you brand new trailers and exclusives for games coming out in 2022 and beyond. It’s our two year anniversary!

Stay tuned for more details soon, but if you want to get involved, here’s how to get involved in future games.

June 12 — PC game show

Our sister site, PC Gamer, has also confirmed that this PC game show will be back this year on June 12th.

The show has been running since 2015, and plans to debut again with them who haven’t previously met, in-game footage, trailers, developer talk, and more.

Devs Day

Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition also happens this year. A digital event dedicated to showcasing top-notch upcoming indie games is back as part of the Geoff Keighley event, once again a collaboration between Double Fine and IAM8BIT.

Showcase time has not been announced.

EA Play

EA Play Live

What we do know is that EA Play Live won’t happen in 2022.

In a statement to IGN, an EA spokesperson said that its E3 addiction event will not happen, but instead the publisher will let us know about games as and when they’re ready to be demoed — a bit like what Sony is doing with its game state spotlights .

«We love EA Play Live as it’s our way of connecting with our players and sharing what’s new with you all,» the statement said. “However, this year everyone is not performing to show you everything on one date. We have exciting things happening in our world-class studios, and this year we’ll be revealing a lot more about these projects when it’s time for each of them. We look forward to spending time with you throughout the year! »

EA Play has traditionally topped the E3 trend, the first few years overlooking the event that took place in the days leading up to the E3-week, and then last year debuted in July — a full month after the traditional E3 window.

Sony, Nintendo and others

Sony, Nintendo and others

Nintendo has always kept direct during the E3 window and has traditionally announced the date and more details much closer to the event. So while it hasn’t officially announced that it will form this June, we expect to see something from NINTY soon. After all, we’re at least up to date on the breath of Wild 2’s gameplay despite its delay to 2023.

As for Sony and its PlayStation Studios, it did nothing with E3 for a number of years, instead deciding to set its own agenda with its live game state. We’d be very surprised if that changed this year, so expect PlayStation to skip the June event.

Other publishers that traditionally host their own E3 event include Ubisoft, Devolver Digital, Square Enix, and later smaller streams like the Guerrilla Collective. Indie-centric utility games have already confirmed the June event.

We are also expecting something from other media sites including IGN and Gamespot during the E3 window.

  • Can be charged at any time and does not have to be completely discharged (no «memory effect»)
  • Low self-discharge characteristic of high-quality lithium batteries
  • Has a built-in charge controller that protects against overheating and overcharging.

All batteries are safety tested and certified, ISO 9001:2008.

All recommendations and warnings apply to Li-ion, Li-polymer batteries only.

Charge

  1. How do I start using a new battery?

Lithium battery must be charged before first use! Only new Ni-Cd, Ni-MH batteries are discharged before use, while lithium batteries need to be charged!

It is recommended to make three full charge-discharge cycles for the device to determine the full capacity of the battery. Each cycle includes charging for at least 3 hours and then completely discharging the battery.

Do not leave the battery empty, charge the device immediately. These cycles are necessary for your device to use the full capacity of the new battery.

  2. How to charge the battery?

Use the charger and cable supplied with the device, regardless of the capacity of the new battery (more or less).

Fast charging does not depend on the battery, if the device supports it, it will also work after replacing the battery.

  3. Memory effect

None (does not require «training» and «calibration»), but several charge-discharge cycles are required for a new battery (after replacing the old one).

Storage

  1. Production date

The production date is indicated in the serial number. Example: C11x04xx or A11x04xx — 2019 4 months, C12x06xx or A12x06xx — 2020 6 months. From 2022, 2202Nxx is indicated, where 22 is the year, 02 is the month.

  2. Shelf life

A battery charged to 30-50% can be stored for no more than 2 years at a temperature of 0 — 25 °C. In this case, the battery loses no more than 4% capacity per year.

Service life

  1. Causing damage to the battery

Very hot during charging or use. For example in the sun, near heaters. This does not apply to natural heating during charging or operation.

Heavy duty. They do not reduce the resource as much as other reasons, but frequent loads can significantly reduce the service life.

Cold charger. Charging the battery when the temperature is below 5° greatly reduces the resource.

Mechanical damage. Damage to the sealed packaging of the battery increases the risk of complete failure.

Storage in a discharged state. Also, long storage with the battery connected drains it faster and often the device can no longer charge it.

Incompatible charger. A charger with a lower capacity can charge more slowly and also reduces the resource.

Bad battery, symptom

  1. Discharges quickly

Turns off abruptly, it was 50% and immediately 20% most often this is due to a battery malfunction.

  2. Won’t turn on

Diagnosis required, but battery replacement does not always solve the problem.

  3. Will not charge

Find the cause of the problem in order of verification:
    1. replace the cable,
    2. replace the charging adapter,
    3. clean the charging port on the device itself,
    4. battery replacement.

Safety

  1. What is the danger of the battery

The absence of damage and stress in the operation of the battery practically guarantees its safety. The degree of assurance is illustrated by the following comparison from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration:
    • The chance of being struck by lightning during a person’s lifetime is about 1 in 13,000;
    • 1 in 10,000,000 chance of accidentally igniting a lithium-ion battery. Read more in this article.

  2. Battery swelling

Why this happens, how dangerous it is and what to do about it, read in this article.

  3. How to extinguish batteries

Learn more about preparing for extinguishing in this article.

Disposal

  1. How to store and prepare for disposal

Keep out of reach of children and animals! Before you dispose of your smartphone or cell phone battery, keep it away from children and pets. The consequences can be dire.

Remove external risks. Keep the used battery away from moisture and heat sources (do not place in bathrooms, near heaters, etc.).

Eliminate short circuit. Tape the contact area on the battery to avoid the risk of a short circuit.

Place in container . If you have several batteries, then place them in a dielectric container — a cardboard box, plastic or polyethylene container in order to avoid contact with electrically conductive materials.

For different — different containers. Avoid mixing Lithium-Ion, Nickel-Metal Hydride and Alkaline batteries in the same box when storing. Dispose of them separately as well to avoid a flammable chemical reaction if the housings leak or burst.

  2. Where to return

You can see the nearest point here, for batteries, select Boxy points.

Also in Moscow, upon delivery or at the point of issue, it can be handed over for recycling (please inform about this when placing an order).
