Despite massive crossovers with Star Wars, Naruto, and countless other franchises, the Fortnite community still admires ‘OG’ and rare outfits. Here’s a list of the rarest skins in Fortnite history featuring Black Knight, Omega, and others.
Donning the latest Battle Pass and crossover skins is now common among Fortnite players. As a result, you must own a rare or an OG outfit (authentic cosmetics that were released during Chapter one) to create an outstanding first impression.
While some skins become rare because they were locked behind really hard challenges, others were available for purchase for a short duration. Regardless of the reason, rare skins always help in intimidating your opponents and indicating your experience, expertise, and in some cases, wealth.
From Double Helix to Aerial Assault Trooper, here are the ten rarest Fortnite skins ever.

What is the rarest Fortnite skin of all time?
Renegade Raider is the rarest Fortnite skin ever. One might argue that exclusive skins are rarer, but it is important to note that Renegade Raider was only available during Chapter 1 Season 1. It required you to not only reach Lv. 20 in the Battle Pass, but also spend 1200 V-Bucks.

Back in the day, players didn’t have glitches, tricks, or guides to level up. Moreover, spending V-Bucks wasn’t as standard as it is in Chapter 3. Despite all the reskins, the OG Renegade Raider will remain the rarest skin ever.
The Aerial Assault Trooper is an equally rare skin that was available in the Chapter 1 Season 1 Battle Pass Shop at Lv. 15. Many players put it above Renegade Raider in terms of rarity, but there is no method to prove it objectively.

10) Omega with all accent lights unlocked
Omega is one of the rarest Battle Pass skins in Fortnite. It was released in the Chapter 1 Season 4 Battle Pass and being a BP cosmetic, it will never be purchasable again. Even though its reskin Omega Knight returned in Chapter 3, the original skin is still a rare sight.

A few players were able to unlock Omega, and even fewer could unlock its accent lights because the task was close to impossible. After unlocking Omega, you had to complete additional quests before the end of the season to have a fully upgraded Omega.
Moreover, Fortnite’s player base in Chapter 1 Season 4 was significantly smaller than what it is now. A lot of sweats who could have completed the Omega quests didn’t even get a chance to try them out. For all these reasons, a fully-upgraded Omega will always be the symbol of a veteran.
9) Golden Agent Peely
Yes, a golden walking banana is one of the toughest skins to unlock in Fortnite. Back in Chapter 2 Season 2, Agent Peely was a Level 1 Battle Pass reward but its ‘Golden Agent’ style was available as a bonus reward at Lv. 300.

To reach Lv. 300, one had to acquire 29.5 million XP which is one of the most controversial requirements to unlock a skin. Even pros and content creators struggled to unlock Golden Agent Peely without buying tiers and it is no surprise that casual players felt betrayed.
All in all, try not to mess with someone donning the Golden Peely because they’ve certainly put countless hours into unlocking that skin.
8) Special Forces
Special Forces hasn’t returned to the Fortnite Item Shop in almost 1300 days, and with each day passing by, it is becoming more valuable. Ironically, Special Forces became a sought-after outfit because it’s a very basic skin and never received a decent response from players.
Special Forces was last seen in 2019 and clearly, Epic Games has given up hopes to earn anything from it. This has somehow helped the skin in gaining prominence.
7) Black Knight
Black Knight was a Tier 70 reward from the Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 2 Battle Pass which was the first Battle Pass ever. This might not seem to be as hard as reaching Lv. 350 for Golden Agent Peely, but the XP system has changed a lot in the past four years.

Also, Fortnite wasn’t as sweaty as it is now. Players didn’t make sky-scrapers within seconds as everyone was still adapting to the new building and editing mechanics. Accordingly, only a handful of players were capable enough to complete the XP challenges to get their hands on Black Knight.
Fun fact, Black Knight is just Agent Jonesy wearing intimidating armor.
6) IKONIK
IKONIC is a Fortnite skin you could get after purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S10 device before September 2019. Unlike some promotional skins on this list, IKONIC actually looked unique and great and players wanted it for the aesthetics as well. Jung Chanwoo from the K-Pop band, iKON, was the inspiration behind the outfit.

However, IKONIC was discontinued in September 2019 and Glow replaced it. There is no way to unlock the skin now but it will always be one of the coolest exclusive skins ever.
Considering the limited availability and Samsung Galaxy S10’s price, IKONIK is one of the rarest skins you’ll ever encounter in-game.
5) Honor Guard
Honor Guard is not just a rare Fortnite skin but is also one of the most expensive. It never arrived in the Item Shop and was an additional reward for anyone who purchased the Honor View 20 worth $650 at the time.
Millions of players didn’t even have a fair chance at unlocking Honor Guard, making it one of the rarest exclusive skins. The offer was available only in early 2019, and you cannot get it now.
4) Galaxy
Galaxy is another expensive exclusive Fortnite skin that is rare. It was a ‘free’ reward for players who purchased the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4. The promotional skin was available before Fortnite made it to Android devices which surely added to its rarity.

To unlock Galaxy, you had to physically play Fortnite and buy a high-end Samsung device which is something only the most passionate players could do. Interestingly, Epic Games had to remove Galaxy from many accounts because players stormed Samsung stores and got the skin by playing on devices that were for show.
3) Royale Bomber
Another promotional outfit to make this list of the rarest Fortnite skins is the Royale Bomber. It was very ambitious of Epic Games to think that players will purchase a PlayStation 4, especially for an outfit as generic as Royale Bomber. However, the reluctance to buy the bundle only made the skin rarer.

We have now entered a new generation of console gaming with the arrival of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. Hence, the Royale Bomber is a great way for Fortnite veterans to prove that they’ve played the game on a PS4.
2) Double Helix
Double Helix is arguably the rarest and most expensive exclusive Fortnite outfit ever. You had to purchase a special Nintendo Switch console bundle to unlock it and unfortunately, Switch is one of the worst platforms to play Epic Games’ battle royale title.
The Double Helix bundle is no longer available officially, and third-party sellers demand over $1000 for it. Purchasing such bundles doesn’t even guarantee if the redeem code to get the skin will still be there.
1) Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper
You can assume Aerial Assault Trooper and Renegade Raider’s rarity from the fact that they precede Fortnite’s Battle Pass system. Back in Chapter 1 Season 1, you could unlock them from the Season Shop after reaching Lv. 15 and Lv. 20, respectively.

To be fair, Aerial Assault Trooper isn’t the most ingenious Fortnite skin which is why veterans were hesitant to spend their V-Bucks on it. On the other hand, Renegade Raider was slightly better but was available after reaching Lv. 20.
Fans have never been able to decide the rarer skin between Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper. We believe that both have their own reasons to be called the rarest Fortnite skin ever and they deserve the top spot on this list.
What is the most OG Fortnite skin ever?
Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper are not just the rarest, but also the most OG Fortnite skins ever. Anyone who owns them is a true OG as they’ve been playing the battle royale title since day one.

Apart from Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper, these OG skins were released during the early days of Chapter one and not a lot of players own them at the moment:

Fortnite Reaper Skin

Der legendäre Reaper Skin feierte mit Fortnite Season 3 im Jahr 2018 Premiere. Um ihn zu erhalten, musstet ihr die maximale Stufe 100 im Battle Pass erreichen, was nur die wenigsten Spielerinnen und Spieler geschafft haben dürften.
Er ist Teil des “Hired Gun” Sets und trägt in der Community auch den Beinamen “John Wick”, da der Herr im schwarzen Anzug an den bekannten Film-Charakter erinnert. Mit dem Ende von Season 3 verschwand auch die Möglichkeit, den Fortnite Skin freizuschalten. 2019 folgte zwar ein echter John-Wick-Skin, doch der Reaper kehrte nie wieder zurück – bisher zumindest.

Nur wer sich im Jahr 2019 ein Samsung Galaxy-Smartphone oder -Tablet gekauft hat, kam in den Genuss dieses kostenlosen Fortnite Skins. Die Promo-Aktion zum Release der Android-Beta von Fortnite lief zwar eine ganze Weile, aufgrund des damals hohen Preises für das Smartphone von mindestens 999 Euro hält sich die Anzahl der Besitzerinnen und Besitzer des Fortnite Galaxy Skins allerdings stark in Grenzen.
Damit ist der Fortnite Galaxy Skin in der Theorie auch das teuerste Outfit, dass das Battle-Royale-Game zu bieten hat.

Honor Guard
Gleiches Spiel: Den Honor Guard-Skin gab es nur zum Smartphone-Kauf dazu

Ganz ähnlich verhält es sich mit dem Honor Guard Skin. Nur dass die Promo-Aktion hier nicht gemeinsam mit Samsung, sondern mit Smartphone-Hersteller Honor über die Bühne ging. Beim Kauf eines Honor View 20-Smartphones für rund 570 Euro bekamt ihr im Februar 2019 diesen exklusiven Skin kostenlos dazu.
Im Gegensatz zum Samsung-Pendant ist der Honor Guard-Skin in Fortnite allerdings sogar heute noch erhältlich. Vorausgesetzt, ihr wollt euch das etwas in die Jahre gekommene Smartphone heute noch neu kaufen.

Black Widow

Passend zum Kinostart von Avengers: Endgame hielt ein Crossover-Event in Fortnite Battle Royale Einzug, das einige Skins mit sich brachte. Lediglich zwei Wochen Zeit hattet ihr, euch den Skin von Marvel-Heldin Natasha Romanoff, besser bekannt als Black Widow, für 1.500 V-Bucks (also rund 15 Euro) zu sichern. Danach hat es das Outfit nie wieder in den Item-Shop geschafft.

Sledge
Den Sledge Skin gab es nur 24 Stunden lang, was ihn zu einer Rarität macht.

Obwohl es sich beim Fortnite Sledge Skin lediglich um ein seltenes (blaues) Outfit handelt, ist der in Season 10 als Teil des “Heavy Hitter” Sets eingeführte Anzug einer der seltensten, die Fortnite überhaupt zu bieten hat.
Seinerzeit war er gerade mal einen Tag lang im Shop zu erstehen. Glückicherweise feierte er erst vor Kurzem, am 18. August 2022, nochmal kurzzeitig ein Comeback. Nicht zu verwechseln übrigens mit seinem Namensvetter aus Rainbow Six: Siege.

Fortnite Skin: Black Knight
Der Black Knight Skin war die Belohnung des ersten Battle Pass in Fortnite

Der schwarze Ritter ist ein legendärer Fortnite Skin, der gleichzeitig eine Premiere darstellt. Immerhin war er die Belohnung für das Erreichen der maximalen Stufe 70 im allerersten Battle Pass des Spiels im Jahr 2017.
Nur wer damals den kompletten Battle Pass durchgezogen hat, kam in den Genuss dieses coolen und düsteren Outfits. Danach verschwand er für immer in der Versenkung seiner Burg. 2019 folgte zwar mit dem Ultima Knight eine weitere Ritterrüstung, die dem OG-Black Knight allerdings nicht das Wasser reichen kann.
Dein eigener Skin: David «TheGrefg» Canovas hat etwas geschafft, von dem Fortnite-Fans nur träumen können. Der Streamer aus Spanien besitzt seinen eigenen Fortnite Skin, den er im Video vorstellt.

Demogorgon / Chief Hopper
Zum Stranger Things-Crossover fanden zwei Skins den Weg in Fortnite

In Fortnite Season 9 feierte das Battle-Royale-Game mit zwei Skins ein Crossover zum Serien-Hit Stranger Things. Neben dem eher gewöhnlichen Chief Hopper konntet ihr auch als Demogorgon in den Kampf ziehen.
Für 1.200 V-Bucks konntet ihr die Skins nur drei Tage lang im Item-Shop erstehen. Im November des Jahres kehrte er noch einmal zurück, doch seither ist der Demorgon in die Tiefen des Upside Down zurückgekehrt.

Blue Team Leader

Sonderlich beeindruckend sieht dieser Fortnite Skin nicht aus, dafür ist er aber umso seltener. Im Februar 2018 verschenkte Sony in Fortnite Season 2 für PlayStation-Plus-Mitglieder im Rahmen des Playstation Plus Celebration Pack dieses Outfit, das es entsprechend nur für PlayStation-Gamerinnen und -Gamer gab.
Einige dieser Gratis-Packs folgten, doch der Blue Team Leader, der nur kurze Zeit überhaupt verfügbar war, kehrte nie wieder zurück. Das macht ihn zu einem der seltensten Fortnite Skins schlechthin.

Die meisten seltenen Fortnite-Skins sehen ja zumindest noch relative cool aus. Dieses seltene Outfit ist hingegen… eher langweilig und unspektakulär.
Lasst euch allerdings nicht täuschen, denn er feierte bereits 2017 in Season 1 Premiere und kam zwar 2019 noch einmal zurück, seither ist er aber nie wieder im Item-Shop aufgetaucht. Wer damals 1.200 V-Bucks investiert hat, gehört zu den glücklichen Besitzern eines der seltensten Skins überhaupt.

Jetzt wird’s kurios: Der Renegade Raider Skin geht bereits auf die allererste Saison von Fortnite zurück. Habt ihr seinerzeit Stufe 20 erreicht, konntet ihr auch das Outfit für 1.200 V-Bucks in Shop kaufen.
Seit dem 13. Dezember 2017 ist der Skin allerdings nicht mehr erhältlich gewesen und markiert eine absolute Rarität. So selten und beliebt sogar, dass einige Leute auf Auktionsplattformen mehrere Hundert Euro in die Hand nehmen, um sich einen Account mit diesem Skin zu sichern.
