Diablo alternative switch: The best games like Diablo on Nintendo Switch

The best games like Diablo on Nintendo Switch

Do you ever get the urge to crawl through dungeons, craft items, fight some foes, and make a bloody mess while you’re at it? If so, the chances are you’re a Diablo fan, and we can understand that. There’s no denying how fun the RPG dungeon-crawler franchise is to play, and the fact it’s set in a dark fantasy world full of humans, angels, monsters, and demons, makes it all the more interesting to explore.

As far as dungeon crawlers and RPGs go, Diablo is a top dog. Even if you’ve never played it, we’ve no doubt you’ve heard of it. Its also fair to say that it’s influence can be felt in some games today, so what are the best games like Diablo on Nintendo Switch? What titles out there can provide you with a Diablo-esque experience, in one form or another. Well, read on to find out.

If Diablo, and games like it, are of no interest to you, perhaps some other RPGs are. In which case, you should look at our lists of the best games like Skyrim, games like Dark Souls, and the best Final Fantasy games. Alternatively, our picks for the best games like Stardew Valley might provide you with the idyllic relaxation title.

Without further ado, here are our picks for the best games like Diablo on Switch.

Games like Diablo

Minecraft Dungeons – Switch

Take the gore away from Diablo, pretty up the place, and you pretty much get Minecraft Dungeons. However, the open world full of mining opportunities from Minecraft isn’t present here. Instead, you must hack ‘n slash your way through a range of dungeons, all of which are full of randomly generated monsters, ensuring you have a different experience every time you decide to dive in.

Better yet, it features an array of puzzles and bosses, meaning you get to test your skills in all manner of ways. In order to do so, you’ve got complete freedom over what sort of weapon and armour you approach combat with.

Torchlight III – Switch

Before we explain this one, it’s worth pointing out that Torchlight II is also deserving of a place on this list. The Torchlight series, in general, is perfect for those that get a kick out of the Diablo games, especially if it’s crawling through dungeons that draws you in.

Torchlight 3 features a top-down view, and gives you the chance to get creative in how you approach the dungeons by offering you an array of weapons, magic spells, and skills. You’re going to need all the help you can get to survive in this fantasy world.

Borderlands: The Legendary Collection – Switch

If you enjoy mayhem, causing carnage, and like to make things go boom with big guns, the Borderlands series is for you. It’s similar to Diablo in that you do a lot of looting, and plenty of shooting. The world is huge, and the characters found within are so eccentric that even the bad guys will win you over.

Better yet, Borderlands: The Legendary Collection includes all but Borderlands 3, giving you access to some fantastic games that are sure to quench your first to slay some foes.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 – Switch

Think Diablo, but with superheroes, that’s Marvel Ultimate Alliance in a nutshell. This top-down dungeon crawler tasks you with saving the universe from Thanos and the Black Order. It’s a tall task, but fortunately, you can choose from an extensive roster of heroes to help you out. Such individuals include Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Star-Lord, Blade, Nightcrawler, and Spider-Gwen.

If you happen to enjoy cooperative play, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a perfect choice, especially if you’re a fan of Stan Lee’s universe. Naturally, each character possesses different abilities and attacks, making fights more interesting as you switch between them.

Victor Vran: Overkill Edition – Switch

Now, this is a game everyone should try, assuming dungeons, demons, action, RPGs, and dungeon-crawlers are your thing. Victor Vran is a fun time, and the Overkill Edition is the perfect way to experience it in our very humble (correct) opinion. In Victor Vran, you take control of a demon hunter, who – you guessed it – has but one purpose, to send the descendants of hell back to where they came from.

Furthermore, the game gives you complete freedom in your mission, as you don’t choose a character class to start with. Instead, you tailor good old Vic to your playstyle through the use of different weapons, powers, and consumables.

Darksiders: Genesis – Switch

Darksiders: Genesis puts you in control of Strife, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse – we’re expecting the rapture any day now – and takes a different approach to the previous games in the series, adopting a style that’s reminiscent of Diablo. This top-down hack ‘n slash title has some of the most satisfying combat out there, and is a must-try if it’s the action that keeps you interested in Diablo.

Furthermore, as the game features War as well as Strife, not only do you get to change between the two characters, but you can tackle this journey with a friend if you so choose.

Skyrim – Switch

Let’s be honest. You can create any ‘games like’ list, and Skyrim will have a place on it. Even if it has no business being there, people will make it their business, and it could well be that one hill they won’t budge from. Still, Skyrim does resemble Diablo in a few ways, especially on the RPG front. Of course, Skyrim also features more than its fair share of dungeons, and it’s also set in a fantasy world that features all manner of beings.

Boyfriend Dungeon – Switch

Oh, how I’ve been waiting for this moment, for when I could finally put Boyfriend Dungeon on a list like this. Well, given this is about games like Diablo, a title that features dungeons, it would be rude not to include a game with the word ‘dungeon’ in its title.

Honestly, Boyfriend Dungeon is a lot of fun, and if the dungeon-crawling aspect of Diablo is a key factor for you, then this game is worth a try. In this game you visit a town on vacation for the summer, and your cousin is keen to get you some romantic action. But, wait, it gets better, as in this game, you date the weapons you fight through dungeons with, and there are some fantastic choices just waiting to win your heart.

I also feel the need to gush about the soundtrack, narrative, and everything in between, but our Boyfriend Dungeon review will do that for me.

Darkest Dungeon – Switch

If the dungeon-crawling aspects of Diablo entice you the most, it’s about time you dive into Darkest Dungeon, with its gameplay revolving around that mechanic. In addition, the game is shrouded in a gothic atmosphere, one that’s sure to make all Diablo fans feel like they’re at home.

The aim of the game is simple, and that’s to lead a team of heroes through dungeons that are infested with untold enemies. However, it’s not just them you need to worry about, as famine and disease are just as capable of ending your heroes journey. Oh, and should one fall to their demise, that’s it, they’re gone for good. All the work you put into building them up is gone in an instant. Hey, no one said dungeon-crawlers are easy.

Cat Quest 2 – Switch

A dungeon-crawler action RPG with cats, need we say more. You get to explore a huge open world full of beautiful surroundings, as well as dive deep into some dungeons to see what goodies you can find. Furthermore, there are plenty of quests for you to complete, so you’re never short of things to do. However, we can all agree that the most important thing is that you play as a cat that’s a knight – I hereby dub thee, Sir Whiskerton.

Oh, and if you play with a friend, one of you gets to play as a dog. Seriously, this just keeps getting better and better.

Phew, there you have it, the undisputed best games like Diablo on Nintendo Switch and mobile. If you’re after more role-playing action, our lists of the best Switch RPGs and best mobile RPGs are sure to keep you busy.

Minecraft Dungeons

Source: Mojang

If you love Minecraft, and you love everything about an ARPG with long dungeon crawls, a wealth of items to collect, and various extraordinary dangers, Minecraft Dungeons is going to be an absolute blast.

It is truly the best of those two worlds.

Once you’ve established your character, you will be tasked with saving the people of your village from the relentless machinations of the fiendish Arch-Illager.

While perhaps a little more lighthearted than some of the other titles mentioned in this list, you should still expect a game that will be challenging on several different levels.

One of the best features associated with this game is that you don’t have to go at it alone!

Minecraft Dungeons can be played solo, but you can also gather up your friends to take on these dungeons, vanquish your foes, and collect the treasures awaiting you.

You can personalize your character to the very finest detail.

In addition to the treasure waiting for you to discover, there are also a variety of exciting power-ups.

While the game may remind you naturally of Minecraft, the actual gameplay is designed to be more evocative of the classic dungeon-crawling video games which it aspires to emulate.

In other words, if you’re coming to this game specifically because of Minecraft, you will want to keep this in mind.

Diablo fans, on the other hand, will be pleased immediately.

Torchlight III

Source: Perfect World

While perhaps a little brighter and more cartoonish than some Diablo fans might prefer, there is so much about this latest entry in the Torchlight series that will connect you to Diablo in a very appealing way.

One thing is for certain: Between the combat mechanics and resource management demands, you’re going to be very busy indeed with this title.

Choosing one of four unique classes, the game starts you off with pretty humble beginnings.

Remember that the point of this title is to build yourself up into a force that can gather untold riches, repel the conquering hoards, and set your name in history for all time.

This has just about everything you would expect from an ARPG, with dungeon crawling, resource management, and the ability to control virtually every aspect of this game.

Beautiful graphics and sound will take you across a straightforward combat system.

This also includes a vast array of menus to itemize and manage your resources.

Elden Ring players learned how to break illusory walls with Margit’s Chains

Some of the illusory walls in Elden Ring are quite solid. Players have found an easy way to deal with obstacles and more

Elden Ring players seem to have found another secret (or bug) in their favorite game. FromSoftware has installed illusory walls in the game, which are sometimes very strong.

Close contact is usually required to destroy them, but the players have found an alternative way to break the illusion. For some reason, Margit’s Chains, as shown by NateThePunk2 (link), allow you to effectively and without direct interaction deal with an obstacle.

Ashencroix theorized that this was due to the fact that the Binding caused an area attack that did not deal damage, but could reveal such illusions and activate switches.

Phenomenal. Against the Storm Review (Early Version)

Just a few games turned out to be enough to understand that he fell into skillfully placed snares and will not get out of them soon. A love letter to classic horror. Signalis Review

The game from a microscopic team from Germany, thanks to familiar mechanics, is hard not to compare with the legendary Silent Hill and Resident Evil. But I won’t try it all.

AKIMOV, 03. 12.2019

Pros: — All covered with soft-touch
— Clear clicks
— OMRON switches (more really show-offs)
— It is possible to change the type of backlight, the most interesting of them for me is triger (the backlight is activated with each press) You can also set a chalky or fast pulsation, change the brightness or turn it off completely.

Disadvantages: — Light, lighter than SS KANA
— The sensor is very «far sees» (When picked up from the mat, it continues to work at a high distance)
— WIRE (this is the main problem of SS mice)

Comment: I bought it cheaply (1290) the price was very tempting, considering the sensor, features and buttons) Although I’m not a fan of diablo, the design is good, except for the gray patterns on the soft touch, someone here said that over time it will be erased , for me it’s good. After a month of use, the beginnings will turn off and fail (closing). I took it apart, I didn’t see anything, as soon as I didn’t twist the wire, I didn’t find the source of the short circuit. Already thought the fee. But then I dug up the Razer Abussys details (I wanted to fix it, but I became too lazy) And I saw that the wire was suitable, only I needed to change the wiring in places, the procedure was 10-15 minutes slowly. By the way, who cares, Abyssys also has OMRONs for the left and right clicks, only they didn’t shout about it to the whole world. As a result, the mouse is not buggy and works great. And SteelSeries is a big reprimand, already the second mouse from them, which starts to fail due to the wire (the first was the classic SENSEI, I got my money back for it)

If you disassemble the mouse, carefully remove the legs, they are very sensitive and wrinkle a lot. Then the curves and the rug do not glide well

Name hidden, 11/27/2019

Advantages: convenient, lightweight, macros, profiles, and more.

Disadvantages: easily soiled, no extra. legs, the DPI switch button stopped working almost immediately, but the profiles solved this problem for me

Comment: I bought it in February 2013. Everything works the same as when I bought it. the pattern has not been erased, the buttons have not failed and nothing has broken. the middle button itself is not pressed, the legs are not erased.

Name hidden, 11/15/2019

Advantages: Design, shape, sensor, wire, backlight, weight.

Drawbacks: Wheel, coating.

Comment: After almost 5 years, my favorite mouse was covered. Together we went through a lot — games, design, Internet surfing. More than once he banged it on the table, dropped it, threw it. Initially I wanted a real gaming mouse, BUT, without bells and whistles, without a bunch of buttons and with a price of up to 2000 rubles, I bought it for 990 rubles on sale. I regret that I did not buy a second one, because now such a mouse costs 4 times more.
As you know, the entire series of these mice has a wheel defect, which eventually begins to work incorrectly. This happened to me 2 years later.
I resigned myself and patiently cleaned the wheel every six months from dust and dirt.
However, recently the left button began to «under-click» — it no longer delivered to work and play. This is a direct sign that the mouse is dying.
What’s funny — the sensor has survived everything and everything, it works like a clock.
I advise!

A4p, 11/14/2019

Advantages: I’m already throwing it against the wall (because there are a few more mice), hitting it on the table, and so on (I use it in the office, I’ve been without a rug for a long time and the legs are asking for a replacement; because it’s different at home), and I want to say that it is indestructible. No problems with these tortures.
soft touch is pleasant to the touch, but…

Disadvantages: symmetrical shape (for an amateur; I realized after this mouse that symmetrical mice do not suit me)
soft touch peels and scratches easily

Comment: in general, the mouse is very good , if you like symmetrical mice and soft touch, and in a year you will change without nerves — an excellent choice
ps really I am writing this review too late))

Alexander M., 30.10.2019

Advantages: — mouse from SteelSeries for a very affordable price
— no complaints about the work, I tested this device in WoT, COD MW3, BF3 everywhere the mouse works with a bang.
— a rodent for a large hand, very useful for me personally.
— before it was X7, it worked for about 2 years, then it started to scroll, and so after it there was not a long period of adaptation, but these are trifles.
— the software got up without problems, it works fine (W7 64)
— There are no questions about the external build quality, and the box is peppy.
— the design is also very decent, although it doesn’t matter to me.

Disadvantages: As for the disadvantages, it’s more like nit-picking on this I don’t lower my rating:
— soft plastic is very easily soiled, but very pleasant for the hand, and still I like rubber inserts like on X7.
— two buttons on the right side, it’s probably not mine, but they can be easily disabled in the program.

Comment: As for durability, time will tell whether the review will remain excellent or will be reduced
I took the previous X7 mouse for 800 rubles. worked faithfully for 2 years.
I bought this rodent for 990 rubles. so my bar is at least 2 years, that will suit me.
— I want to make adjustments, because after a year and a half the wheel began to «fail» (scrolls), otherwise there are no complaints.

pavel k. , 20.10.2019

Advantages: Soft-touch coating, comfortable to hold in the hand
Fast and accurate in feel.
Good software for settings, macros, etc.
Statistics on button presses
Long braided cord, gold-plated on the connector

Disadvantages: no spare legs

Comment: bought to replace X7-750 from A4Tech (left button flew off). They are similar in form and function, except that this button has two sides. The buttons on the side of the little finger must be turned off immediately, there is no sense in them.
Looks nice with backlight. Took for 1600r. For such a price, the device is excellent, but I would already think more expensive …

Andrey M., 10/17/2019

Advantages: — build quality
— nice plastic
— non-slip hand
— accuracy
— response
— software

Disadvantages: — DPI cannot be switched by button

Comment: The mouse is very pleasant in the hand. Excellent DPI. Doesn’t slip. Excellent response. Design for Diablo III, looks great. Good software. The only thing that I did not like is that for some reason the sensitivity does not switch from the mouse itself. Perhaps I did not understand something. And it’s just great. The only niggle, too light, although that has its pluses.

Name hidden, 08/27/2019

Advantages: 5700 dpi, ergonomics, smooth glide, nice material, convenient programmable side buttons and, of course, a sale price =)

Disadvantages: Not everyone understands macro commands with combinations, for example, «GUI + Tab» and others…

Comment: When buying, check the scroll wheel — there are «rattling» ones (out of two purchased mice — on one the scroller made characteristic sounds, I had to change it)

Name hidden, 08/24/2019

Pros: — Appearance. Looks good.
— The right shape and size (this is one of the main points when looking for another mouse, right?)
— Not a bad sensor. Predictably behaves on various surfaces. Much more adequate compared to cheap devices.

Disadvantages: — It peels off
— The right shifts will fall under the ring finger and be pressed when the next mouse is grabbed.
— The wheel behaves inadequately after a year of use (maybe I’m so «lucky»)

Comment: I’ve been using it for almost two years now. It’s time to leave a review.
In short — I do not advise.

At first there were problems with software from the manufacturer, which did not want to be installed on win8, and then on win8.1. Only a year after the purchase after the release of the next version of the software, I was able to install it and «play around with the settings» (you can’t call it otherwise). At least I could set up the shifts…

Speaking of shifts, the right ones are awfully uncomfortable. are constantly pressed arbitrarily under the ring finger, so there is no point in binding them.

The soft plastic/rubber surface (or whatever they use) will wear off quickly (depending on usage, of course). Tactile sensations after that are not the most pleasant.

The worst thing that happens to my mouse is the wheel. Damn it! When I scroll up — everything is ok. When I scroll down, scrolling down 3 steps scrolls up once or twice. When you scroll through a page in the browser, you don’t know where you will end up after the next scroll — below or above the starting point. Complete disorientation due to such an important detail.

Short summary: the mouse is unpleasant to use (it’s shabby) and inconvenient (the wheel doesn’t hurt).

User deleted, 07/31/2019

Advantages: — Good design
— Comfortable
— Does not slip in the hand
— 5700 dpi
— Soft

Disadvantages: No spare legs

buy. The backlight pleases) Well, the build quality!
My advice if you are puzzled to take or not to take, I advise you to take it!)

Eric L., 06/22/2019

Advantages: Fits well in the hand
Accurate sensor
Response
Clear scrolling
Indestructible cord
Original design (backlight, pulsation adjustment)
Mouse weight (what you need, no more and no less)

Disadvantages: The legs wear out quickly (there are no spares)
The quality of the rodent filling
soft (few settings, mainly the backlight game)

Comment: I took a mouse from this series
After 4 months, the buttons on the side began to stick
After 6 months, the wheel failed not subject), dismantled and was surprised at the material from which the stem is made on which it is attached (brittle plastic).
Used the mouse at work and at home. Didn’t last even 7 months. I liked the mouse, but the service life is too short. Before that, I used A4Tech XL-750 (software is also normal), Razer Lachesis 5600 Black USB (not a comfortable grip, but the software is super), both mice are still alive. While I’m choosing a new mouse, I took A4Tech F7 Snake Black-Red USB as a replacement (I didn’t notice a difference from the previous A4Tech XL-750)
In general, the mouse left a double impression, everything was pleasant, except for reliability.

Name hidden, 06/03/2019

Advantages: -accurate and fast sensor
-keys are informative, you know for sure whether it was pressed or not
-large scroll with a clear relief, your finger does not slip on it, it is convenient to use, «clicks» are clear.
— soft.

Disadvantages: the drawing on the mouse was quickly erased, does not interfere, but the mouse has lost its presentation.

Comment: Excellent mouse, scrolling is just something, especially after it on the A4tech X7 mouse (who used them will understand what I mean) therefore, it is not necessary to say that it is inconvenient to press them with the little finger, they are not needed for this.
took the mouse in the spring of 2012 for 2150r. never regretted the purchase.

Sergey L., 05/31/2019

Pros: Nice mouse!
Can be used with both left and right hand.
The ability to adjust the backlight pulsation frequency, I set it up by clicking. It’s especially visible in the dark 🙂
Possibility to adjust 4 buttons + wheel to the desired slot in the game.
Soft touch plastic is pleasant to the touch. Buttons with a small travel with good response.
The wheel is covered with textured rubber, the finger does not slip on it.
You can set two sensor resolutions and change them during the game with the button above the mouse wheel.
It is possible to update the mouse firmware.

Disadvantages: Overpriced.
Big drawback for me: very low buttons. When the mouse is in your hand, the left two buttons can be pressed with your thumb without «perversions», on the right side you can only press with your little finger and this does not always work, especially in the heat of battle.

Comment: A great gift for a Diablo fan!
Download the latest drivers from the Steelseries website (so far only from the European one, there are no Russian-speaking mice yet). When installing the driver, they are installed in English, after installation we go to the settings and change the language to Russian.
In the settings, there is a statistics item, where after the game you can see how much this or that mouse button was pressed.

VisioN, 05/07/2019

Advantages: -quality materials
— spectacular appearance

Disadvantages: — uncomfortable buttons under the ring finger, which are constantly pressed
— scarcity of settings
— terrible software

Comment: The mouse is made very high quality, with a good sensor and looks good. Now for the bad. Those 2 buttons that are under the ring finger were constantly pressed at first, I had to turn them off. The little finger is dragged along the rug, there is simply no place for it. And of course I understand that beauty is great, but there are as many as 5 in the mouse settings program! settings, two of which are the choice of pulsation and the intensity of the illumination of the diablo logo. I don’t know about you, but it’s really important for me how the Diablo logo on the mouse body will blink, and God forbid it won’t blink often and brightly enough. At the same time, this very software with settings takes only 150 megabytes in memory. So think for yourself whether you need this mouse.

Advantages: Original form from SS XAI
Beautiful backlight with illumination
Design for Diablo
Easy (for me it’s +)

Disadvantages: Not very convenient software to use the side buttons were mixed up on the contrary, I didn’t want to reflash via USB 3. 0, it’s good that there was a pair of USB 2.0 ports on the front panel of the system unit, I connected it through them, and the mouse reflashed normally, all buttons began to work fine)
The rodent is symmetrical (I’m used to using right-handed mice)
The buttons on the right side are constantly getting in the way, often arbitrarily pressed.
Soft touch coating, which tends to collect prints and wear off after half a year. (rough and rubberized plastic, it seems to me, is much better suited to cover the mouse) The white pattern, by the way, has already begun to darken and wear off after 2 weeks of active gaming.

Comment: I had to get used to the mouse for a while after using DeathAdder for a year, it seemed to me very low in relation to the position of the keys, but this is a matter of habit. I was also very pleased with the price of 1700 rubles, given the original XAI (which costs ~ 2200 rubles), on the basis of which they redesigned for Diablo, this is very divine.
