Kommt «The Irishman» ins Kino?

November 2019 läuft „The Irishman“ daher in ausgewählten US-Kinos an, erst am 27.

Darum geht’s in «The Irishman»

9. Django Unchained (2012)

It’s really not surprising that westerns are longer than most modern films. But we don’t really complain. After all, this genre is extremely unique in terms of cinematography and directing. When you add Quentin Tarantino’s penchant for storytelling to that, you better believe the result is transcendent. Django Unchained is set in the pre-war period and is inspired by spaghetti westerns. This is the story of freed slave Django (Jamie Foxx) who works with a bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) to save his wife from a cruel but charming plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). People tend to associate Bollywood with flashy dance routines and extremely cheesy dialogue. While we cannot protest against this perception, we feel it necessary to point out that there are many films that are more…traditionally cinematic. Lagaan is a story of love, brotherhood, oppression and freedom, all disguised as a cricket match. Bhuvan is a farmer who accepts a challenge given to the villagers by Captain Andrew Russell. Basically, if the colonized Indians can emerge victorious, they won’t have to pay taxes for the next 3 years. Intriguing premise, right? Aamir Khan plays the title role and he has truly established himself as a visionary of the Indian entertainment industry. This film was also India’s entry for the 2002 Oscars. nine0003

The Hateful Eight is another welcome addition to his repertoire. The action takes place against the backdrop of the American Civil War.
