Csgo cache maya: Reddit — Dive into anything

Cache creator FMPONE has just released a Source 2 tutorial » Counter-Strike CsWaRzOnE

April 11, 2021

2 minutes read

While Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players are tearing up the competition on Cache, FMPONE has been hard at work creating maps in Valve’s Source 2 engine. Even though his latest project is for Half-Life Alyx, the mapper has decided to share what he’s learned about the engine via YouTube.

It isn’t every day that fans get a free lesson in Source 2, and it’s even rarer that they have a chance to learn from an accomplished CSGO mapper. It’s a great opportunity for everyone from aspiring game designers to everyday fans to get a look at what goes on behind the scenes in Valve’s games both new and old.

Cache co-creator FMPONE’s Source 2 tutorial is a great watch

The hour-long tutorial walks viewers through the basics of constructing their first room in Source 2 while FMPONE explains the engine’s new modeling system, visibility, and lighting. Source veterans will feel right at home as the mapper dives into the engine’s visibility blockers just a few seconds in, but beginners might feel a little lost at first. A quick trip to the Valve Developer wiki and a few times through FMPONE’s tutorial they’ll be all caught up. Advertisement

The tutorial is a welcome one. The Source 2 tools included with Alyx are still a mystery, and the tutorial is full of tips and tricks for anyone interested in the engine. The usual way of learning new tech is through trial and error, but FMPONE’s tutorial speeds that up. While Source 2’s mesh-based modeling is different than Source 1, it’s also much more flexible, allowing players to create shapes and geometry they couldn’t in the original engine. The meshes are also almost identical to those in 3D modeling programs such as Maya and Blender, meaning that people already familiar with those tools are ahead of the game.

One of the things that really excites me about the future for Source 2 is teaching people all of the nifty little editor techniques and tricks that are possible. Some of them are pretty fun to use.

— FMPONE (@FMPONE) March 6, 2021

But even if players have no interest in mapping or modeling, the video is still worth a watch. Source 2 is very different from the original Source, but it still resembles the original in many ways. Understanding a game behind the scenes ultimately makes a better player.

FMPONE’s Alyx campaign doesn’t have a release date just yet, but the mapper has been posting screenshots of it for months. With spaces that echo the original game’s tight environments onto expansive outdoor spaces, it looks like it will be an entirely new experience for players. Anyone interested can check out FMPONE’s tutorial over on YouTube.

While CSGO fans might be disappointed the mapper isn’t creating Cache 2 in Valve’s new engine, the Cache designer has given them a perfect start at doing it themselves.

Where can you download Source 2?

For players looking for a way to download Valve’s Source 2 engine, there is a way. Both Dota 2’s Workshop tools and Half-Life Alyx’s Addon tools will give players a version of the Source 2 engine. Alyx’s version asks players to purchase and buy the game first, while Dota 2’s version is completely free.

Custom Content Without Contamination | TopHATTwaffle

While creating a level for almost any game, you are most likely going to use some custom content. The issue is that for Hammer and the game to read this content it must be placed inside of the game’s folder. This can lead to you have content others don’t have, or you contaminating your “pure” game files. In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive having different files from the server will result in a kick from the server and temporary ban. We want the best of both worlds – we want Hammer to see the content, and we want to play online. Follow this guide to set up Content Without Contamination. This was written with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in mind, but this does apply to all games that use custom content.

Team collaboration is also very important. It is typical to have 2 or more people working on the same level. Everyone having access to the same content is required. All members must mount the same content. If you’re working on a single player game, or a mod that will ship VPKs this is not useful to you. This is only useful if you’re required to pack custom content into your BSP before shipping it.

In this guide we’ll cover the system and practices I use to develop levels with my custom content. This includes:

  • Organizing your content correctly.
  • Mounting external content in Hammer.
  • Automatically packing your level with all your custom content.
  • Creating a project specific compile configuration.

Sounds exciting? Because it is! Let’s get started.

    • Move all your custom content into a dedicated “Project” folder somewhere on your computer. I suggest NOT keeping your level in sdk_content\maps. I HIGHLY SUGGEST keeping your project folder inside of a cloud storage folder such as: Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or any other popular provider.
    • Here is an example for one of my projects. I use this structure for every project I start.
      • Dropbox
        • Level Design
          • Portal 2
          • Garry’s Mod
          •  CSGO
            • Facade
            • Osaka
            •  Silo
              • Concepts (Concept content is stored in this folder)
                • Doors
                • Halls
                • Stairs
                • Rooms
                • Controls
                • Misc
              • Raw Content (Raw, uncompiled content is store here)
                • Maps (VMFs, VMX, PRT, LOG, Ect..)
                • Materials (PSDs, PNGs, JPEGs used in material creation)
                • Models (3Ds Max, Maya, QCs, along with any other model related files)
                • Resource (Any resource files, E.G. your level’s mini-map)
                • Sounds (Any RAW sound files that are being edited)
                • Scripts (Scripts, Nut files, various manifest files)
              • Content (All sub-folders store their respective content to be used inside the game. Normally they would be copied into your games folders, possibly overwriting game critical data.)
                • Maps
                • Materials
                • Models
                • Resource
                • Scripts
                • Sounds
    • (Optional) I suggest that you then scrub your game install folder then verify your game’s cache. This is to ensure that you’ve returned your game back to its full default content.
    • Browse to your game’s exe folder. In my case this is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive
    • Find and open gameinfo.txt then scroll to the bottom and locate the SearchPaths section.
    • Add a new line under the CSGO search path. The line should read:
Game [full path to content folder]
    • Once all the paths are added, save and close gameinfo.txt.
    • Restart Hammer and CSGO, and you’re done!

Now Hammer will show all this content, and so will the game! Since all this content is mounted with a lower priority than CSGO, you won’t have any pure sever issues. You will see need to pack your level before giving it out to people or uploading to the workshop. For this I suggest CompilePal as it will detect these added mount paths in gameinfo.txt and pack the content stored in them. When you want to stop mounting this content, just add // infront of the line to comment them out.

One thing to note: sometimes when CSGO updates, or when you verify game cache, the gameinfo.txt file is reset to the defaults. This will erase your mount paths. However it is painless to re-add them. I’ve only had this happen maybe twice a year, so no biggie.

    Thanks for reading!
    Happy Mapping!

    Description[]

The map takes place in the abandoned Ukrainian city of Pripyat, near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Terrorists are trying to blow up weapons caches. The special forces must prevent the explosion, or destroy the terrorists.

The main battles take place at the bombing sites (A and B) and in the center of the map.

The map is small but balanced. Cache is popular among players and is included in the «reserve» group.

The official factions of this map are Phoenix Division (terrorist team) and GIGN (special forces team).

    Map Objectives[]

Spetsnaz must do one or more of the following to win:

    1. Destroy all terrorists.
    2. Prevent the terrorists from placing C4 on one of the bomb sites (A or B) before the time expires.
    3. Disarm the bomb after the terrorists planted it.

The terrorists need to do one of the following to win:

    1. Destroy all special forces soldiers.
    2. Plant a bomb and prevent it from being cleared.

odds and bets for the fight UFC January 22, 2023

    Andrey Muzalevsky

Gilbert Burns will fight No. 12 welterweight Neil Magny. Their fight will take place on January 21 (January 22 Moscow time), 2023 at UFC 283 at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

We have collected the most current bets and odds from bookmakers, and also prepared an exclusive prediction for the Burns vs. Magny fight.

The main card fights will start closer to 06:00 am Moscow time. Live broadcast will be available on the bookmaker’s website
Winline, UFC Fight Pass subscribers and Match TV viewers.

Odds for the fight Burns — Magny

It is surprising that the bookmakers did not lower the odds for the Brazilian’s victory to the minimum values. Against the background of a mediocre Magny, Gilbert still looks like a tough puncher who can become a contender for the title. You can bet on Burns’ victory with odds
    1.22

Neil has always been a good drummer, but his talent was clearly not enough for the ground. If Gilbert takes him to the ground in the first round, then the outcome of the fight will be sealed. Odds to win Magni —
    4.80

    Statistics and physical data

Neil is 12 centimeters taller than his opponent. That’s just growth, most likely, will play a cruel joke with him when Burns tries to transfer him to the ground.

    Gilbert Burns

    • Titled Brazilian jiu-jitsu wrestler, world champion, black belt and second dan. Former UFC welterweight title contender.
    • 25 fights, 20 wins, 5 losses.

Gilbert was not lucky enough to be one of the fighters on Chimaev’s path to a title chance. However, the Brazilian, even though he lost, coped with his task and gave Khamzat a competitive fight: he defended himself from transfers, cut down his opponent with his blows and did not allow him to dictate terms.

Of course, neat Magny is lost in the background of the Borz and obviously will not be able to inflict such damage on Burns. The Brazilian, on the other hand, will actively use the tactics of his past opponent, from the very first seconds he will shorten the distance and try to arrange a pass under both legs near the net.

Here Gilbert will have to give his best. He must not let the opponent go to the stance, in order to then make subsequent transfer attempts. You need to bring to the submission quickly and aggressively.

Kazakhstani Shavkat Rakhmonov in the fight with Nil was too relaxed and slow, thanks to which he allowed Magni to change positions and even almost lost his leg to the painful one. Burns has no such chance for error. He must demonstrate the most daring and collected version of himself.

    Neil Magny

    • 12th in the official UFC welterweight rankings, brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
    • 35 fights, 26 wins, 9 losses.

Once upon a time, Magny could still surprise with victories over Lawler, Jingliang and Condit. But this time has long passed, and, unfortunately, the promising puncher could not break into the top five of the roster.

He is mentally prepared for the fact that he will have to struggle a lot (and first of all with his anthropometry on earth). He also knows how dangerous Gilbert is during counterattacks in the standing position, so he is unlikely to throw long punch combinations.

Magny will have to survive in order to take the fight on points in the third round. He hopes that Gilbert will lose a lot of strength on the ground and will no longer be able to use his footwork and quickly move to the sides to pin Neil at the net in the final stretch.

Burns — Magny: prediction for the fight from Andrey Muzalevsky

I don’t want to say this, but we have another example of how dominant and filigree wrestling counters any advantage in striking.
