Cross save warframe: When are Warframe crossplay and cross-save coming?

Warframe Crossplay and Cross-Save Are Finally Coming Soon

Crossplay Warframe with your friends or (if you’re like me) just play from your couch!

Warframe crossplay and cross-save — two extremely requested features for the free-to-play cooperative shooter — seem to be right around the corner. At least to a certain number of players.

Originally teased all the way back in 2019, crossplay would allow users on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and eventually mobile to work together in-game. That’s quite a lot of different platforms! It’s also probably a lot of work to implement in a game that was released long before crossplay even seemed like a thing that could happen. Nevertheless, players have been wondering for three years when they can expect to jump between platforms and different groups of friends.

The news right now basically boils down to what you can see in the promotional shot above: “community testing coming soon. ” Presumably that means a beta of some kind. Though it’s unclear how many people will have access or how. It’s also not entirely clear how “soon” we’re talking about here. Warframe developer Digital Extremes typically doesn’t announce a specific release date for updates until it’s very close to done (like a week in advance of release).

Whether or not you’re talking about Warframe, crossplay seems to be a tricky subject. Sony, the company behind the PlayStation brand, really hated the idea for a long time. Likely some executives there still do. Sony worked hard to block crossplay between its consoles and others for years (despite undeniable evidence that it was technologically very possible).

The publisher eventually relented, sort of, but instituted a policy that forces other game developers to basically pay a crossplay toll. If you implement crossplay, and want to include PlayStation in that equation, you need to share revenue with Sony. Despite this, the overwhelmingly popular feature is now seen in more and more new games. Warframe, which was a PlayStation 4 launch title, is just now finally joining the tide.

The other elephant in the room is progression. The key art for the announcement obviously only mentions crossplay — not cross-save. The latter is something I personally want to see a lot more than the former. I’d love to be able to play from my PlayStation 5 on the couch, rather than sitting in the office at my PC all day, but don’t want to lose my thousands of hours of progress built up over a decade. Not to mention the many skins and other cosmetics I’ve purchased there.

We don’t know as much about Warframe cross-save specifically at this point. Only that it’s coming sometime after crossplay hits first.

In the meantime, Digital Extremes is syncing up time-limited things in-game like Baro Ki’Teer (the special vendor) on July 29, 2022 and Nightmare Missions at some point later. This will pave the way for crossplay which will then pave the way for cross-save.

Does Warframe have cross-play or cross-save?

Warframe is a multiplayer online third-person action role-playing shooter game developed and published by Digital Extremes that’s free to play. Warframe has been released on many consoles, and fans expect a mobile version to be released soon. Warframe has a dedicated fanbase that has grown so large that the developers can host Tennocon, the official convention for Warframe. Fans are informed about all the new features coming to the game at Tennocon, as well as anything else the developers feel the community should know.

For a long time, fans asked Digital Extremes to add cross-play and cross-save features to the game. It was originally released in March 2013, and fans can’t switch platforms and keep their saves due to a lack of cross-save. At TennoCon 2021, Digital Extremes let players know that they were developing cross-save and cross-play functionality for Warframe. Since that initial announcement, it’s reasonable to assume the process has already begun, so it’s not farfetched to think that it’s already in place.

Is there cross-play or cross-save in

Warframe?

As of today, no cross-play or cross-save exists in Warframe. The game is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, but there is no way to play with your friends if you don’t have the same platform. The only exception to this is the ability to play cross-gen, however. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users can play together, and Xbox users can play with others who have an Xbox console, regardless of how new it is. The only downside is that you will need to restart your progress if you switch to any other brand.

Will

Warframe eventually get cross-play and cross-save?

Eventually, Warframe will get cross-play and cross-save as Digital Extremes promised fans the feature was coming. Fans were thrilled when Digital Extremes announced the development of cross-save and cross-play at TennoCon 2021. Since then, they’ve been working on testing cross-play internally. Finally, Digital Extremes has recently tweeted that they’re moving things forward, and community testing will begin soon.

Digital Extremes never mentioned when it would introduce cross-play and cross-save to everyone. It seems unlikely that we will see a release date until a long time from now. The tweet read more like an update on the progress of implementation and less like an announcement to get ready.

Although there is no release date, you could assume how long it might take. Cross-play is normally implemented after about a year of community testing, so we should expect to see it sometime in late 2023 or early 2024.

When will Crossplay move to Warframe?

One of the most requested features that should be implemented in multiplayer games is the inclusion of crossplay. It has become something that is much praised, especially as we live in an age where some of the most famous games have it. There are games that have been out for quite some time now that are being developed to implement this feature, such as Warframe. Here’s what we know about upcoming crossplay features, cross progression, and more for Warframe.

When will crossplay be coming to Warframe?

Feature is currently planned to be implemented in 2022 . It has been confirmed in the past by DevStream that cross-play will be released after The New War. However, not all of this disappointing news is gloomy. Several things have been suggested for players who want to play with friends on other platforms.

Steve Sinclair said something about « limited edition cross-platform games » And eventually roll it out through the event. No dates or time windows were given, but there was talk of menus and UI being under development in regards to crossplay options.

When will cross-save/cross-progression appear in Warframe?

This feature is said to have been released by some time after the crossplay. There are a lot of nuances that need to be ironed out, and a few more things that need to be addressed. This includes things like account merging, platform-exclusive items like Jade Packs on Xbox or Obsidian PlayStation items, and more.

When will Warframe Mobile be released?

This is also scheduled for Release 2022 . The only glimpse or update we have was when it was briefly showcased at Tennocon 2021. More information will be provided at a later date. This will most likely be considered after The New War releases and when the Digital Extremes staff return from vacation sometime in mid-January.

Will Warframe Mobile work with other platforms?

It was announced that in the mobile version of Warframe will support cross-platform play. . This includes playing with people on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation and Xbox. There are no details about the upcoming mobile port. To our knowledge, there is also no mention of any pre-registration programs yet.

Warframe is currently available for free on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, Nintendo Switch and PC.
