All CS:GO Bot Commands | DMarket

Ever since the early beginnings of Counter-Strike, bots have had their place in this game. Back in the day, the internet wasn’t fast enough for online multiplayer, and Counter-Strike was mostly played on LAN or offline against bots.

Today, bots remain a part of the game. It is still possible to practice solo against bots or opt for a private match with your friends and add a couple of bots to fill empty slots. But how to do so? Well, if you want to know, stay tuned to this article and find out. Here are all the CS:GO bot commands that you might need!

Types of CSGO Bot Commands

There are different types of CS:GO bot commands. Some will work directly, but others require you to activate CS:GO cheat commands. Be sure to set sv_cheats 1 as active before applying any special bot commands in CS:GO. Let’s check which types of bot commands are currently available.

Add Bot Commands

  • bot_add [side] [difficulty] [name]

Side: t or ct

Difficulty: easy, normal, hard, expert

Name: optional; if you don’t specify, a bot will have a random name. However, the name must have an existing bot profile; for example Albert, Fred, Brad.

Bot_add is a multifunctional command that allows you to select the bot’s side, difficulty, and name. However, you don’t have to use them all. If you just type bot_add to the console, it will add a bot randomly to a team. To specify the team, just add a side; for example: bot_add t command will add one bot to the Terrorist side. If you also want to select a specific difficulty, just include it into the command, ex. bot_add t normal.

  • bot_join_team [side]

This command is used to preselect the team you want the next bot from the bot_add command to join. You can set it to T, CT, or Any.

  • bot_place

A simple command that is mostly used for practice purposes. Just type bot_place into the console, and it will automatically spawn a bot in front of your player model. You can use this in combination with other commands to manually place bots on different spots and make them stay there. For example, you can combine it with the bot_freeze command.

  • bot_quota [value]

This command will adjust the maximum number of bots you can have on the server. The default value is 10, but you can change it to any whole number.

  • bot_quota_mode [value]

In addition to the regular bot_quota, you can also use the bot_quota_mode command and combine them. The value can be set to normal which is the default, and also fill and match. The fill value is used to set the number of bots to be the same as bot_quota from the previous command. The match value will match the ratio of humans and bots. (1 human:bot_quota).

  • bot_join_after_player 1

Bots will only join the server once a new real player connects to it. It is used to balance the teams if there are not enough players on the server.

  • mp_humanteam [team]

This command is useful if you want to stop human players from joining a certain team. For example, use mp_humanteam CT to allow human players to only join the T side.

Bot Behavior Commands

  • notarget

This command will make the bots completely ignore you. Therefore, they won’t shoot at you, as if you don’t exist.

  • bot_dont_shoot 1

If you want to completely disable bots from shooting, just type this command into the console. To deactivate it, change the value to 0.

  • bot_freeze 1

As stated before, this command can be combined with others for practice purposes. Type this command to prevent bots from moving. If you want to allow them to move again, change the value to 0.

  • bot_stop 1

This command is similar to bot_freeze. Upon entering, it will stop all bots from doing what they are doing. They will stop moving, jumping, or shooting until you set them free by setting the value to 0.

  • bot_mimic

When activated (1), all the bots on the server will mimic your actions. If you crouch, they will crouch, if you shoot, they will do the same, and so on.

  • bot_crouch

When the value of this command is set to 1, it will make all the bots on the server crouch. To disable it, set the value to 0.

  • bot_allow_rogues 1

This command will make all the bots go rogue. They will immediately stop responding to radio commands. To switch them back to normal, set the value to 0.

  • bot_ignore_players 1

Similar to the notarget command, this command will also make all the bots completely ignore you. However, they will still play against each other and fight between themselves.

  • bot_zombie 1

Set bots into zombie mode. They won’t turn into actual zombies; they will just stop shooting and moving.

  • bot_chatter [value]

This command is used to limit bots’ communication. Value can be set to: off, minimal, normal, or radio.

  • bot_max_vision_distance_override [value]

If you want to limit the bots’ vision, you can do it with this command. The default is -1 and you can turn it on by changing the value to 1. This will cause bots to not see you when you are far away.

  • ai_disable

This command will disable bots’ AI, causing them to just perform their idle animations.

Bot Difficulty Commands

Even though you can manually select the bot’s difficulty when adding one to the server, there is an easier way to adjust the difficulty of all bots at the same time with the bot_difficulty command.

  • bot_difficulty [value]

This command will change the difficulty of all the bots on the server. Just make sure to set the proper value next to it.

Value options:

0 – easy

1 — normal

2 — hard

3 – expert

  • sv_bots_get_harder_after_each_wave

After enabling it, the bots will become harder after each wave.

  • sv_bots_get_easier_each_win

If you want the bots to get easier after every round you have won, use the command above.

  • player_botdifflast_s [value]

This command is used to adjust the difficulty of the last bot standing. Value options are the same as for the bot_difficulty command, where 0 is easy, and 3 is expert. So, if you want to make matches more interesting, you can use player_botdifflast_s 3 to make the last bot’s difficulty increase and make it harder for human players to clutch.

  • bot_autodifficulty_treshold_high [value]

This command is used to set the difficulty to high. The default difficulty is 5; the minimum is -20, and the maximum is 20.

  • bot_autodifficulty_treshold_low [value]

This command is used to set the difficulty to low. The default difficulty is 5; the minimum is -20, and the maximum is 20.

  • Bot Weapon and Armor Commands

Besides regular weapon commands, there are also some weapon commands that will affect only bots. Let’s check them out!

  • bot_knives_only 1

This command is used to force all bots on the server to only use knives.

  • bot_loadout [weapon]

With this command, you can set the weapon loadout you want your bots to spawn with. In order to do so, you need to use proper weapon commands. If you are not sure which command is for which weapon, head over to our give weapon commands guide and find the ones you need.

  • bot_randombuy 1

This command will make bots buy random weapons based on their current balance. Set it to 0 to make them buy normally again.

  • sv_bots_force_rebuy_every_round

This command will make bots forget about the in-game economy and be forced to buy every round.

  • bot_allow_grenades

When set to 1, it allows bots to use grenades. Change the value to 0 if you want to turn it off.

  • bot_allow_pistols

When set to 1, it allows bots to use pistols. Change the value to 0 if you want to turn it off.

  • bot_allow_shotguns

When set to 1, it allows bots to use shotguns. Change the value to 0 if you want to turn it off.

  • bot_allow_sub_machine_guns

When set to 1, it allows bots to use submachine guns. Change the value to 0 if you want to turn it off.

  • bot_allow_machine_guns

When set to 1, it allows bots to use machine guns. Change the value to 0 if you want to turn it off.

  • bot_allow_rifles

When set to 1, it allows bots to use rifles. Change the value to 0 if you want to turn it off.

  • bot_allow_snipers

When set to 1, it allows bots to use snipers. Change the value to 0 if you want to turn it off.

  • bot_pistols_only

If you want to practice pistols against bots, you can force them to also use pistols with this command. To switch it back, set the value to 0.

  • bot_snipers_only

This command may come in handy on AWP-only maps such as AWP_India or similar. Just type bot_snipers_only 1 and they won’t be able to use any other weapons except for sniper rifles.

  • bot_all_weapons

This command will override all previous commands and allow bots to use all weapons again.

  • sv_bot_buy_grenade_chance [value]

The command is used to set a chance for bots to buy grenades with any leftover money. The value can be set from 0 to 100, where 100 represents a 100% chance for a bot to buy a grenade.

  • sv_bot_buy_hegrenade_weight [weight]

If the bot is buying a grenade, they do not know which one to buy. To make it less random, you can set a weight for every grenade. This command is for the HE grenade. The higher the weight you set, the higher the chance of him buying this grenade.

  • sv_bot_buy_molotov_weight [weight]

Same as the previous command just set the weight you want to adjust for molotovs.

  • sv_bot_buy_smoke_weight [weight]

Also, adjust the weight (chance) for bots to buy smoke grenades.

  • sv_bot_buy_flash_weight [weight]

Like the previous three, you can adjust the chance of a bot buying a flash grenade by changing the weight value.

  • sv_bot_buy_decoy_weight [weight]

Use this command to adjust the chance for a bot to buy the decoy grenade.

  • mp_free_armo [value]

This command will provide bots with armor based on value. Set it to 1 to give them Kevlar or 2 to give them Kevlar + Helmet.

Bot DeathMatch Commands

If you want to make your private DM server, you will need a set of the following seven commands.

  • mp_respawn_on_death_ct 1

This command will make all CTs respawn upon death.

  • mp_respawn_on_death_t 1

This command will make all Ts respawn upon death.

  • mp_ignore_round_win_conditions 1

As the name suggests, this command will just ignore round win conditions.

  • mp_buy_anywhere 1

This command will allow players and bots to buy anywhere on the map, regardless of whether they are in the buy zone on the spawn or not.

  • mp_buytime 100000

This command will override the buy period rule and you will be able to buy for the entire time. Just set the value to a high number so the timer does not run out.

  • bot_defer_to_human_goals 1

This command will prevent bots from doing a scenario task.

  • bot_defer_to_human_items 1

The command will prevent bots from taking scenario items.

Bot CO-OP Commands

  • bot_coop_idle_max_vision_distance [value]

The usual maximum vision distance at which bots can see the enemy is 1400, which is also a default value for this command. You can either increase or decrease it. The command works for idle bots in cooperative missions.

  • bot_coop_force_throw_grenade_chance [value]

To force bots to throw grenades just type the command above. The value is based on percentage; 0.9 means that a bot has a 90% chance of throwing a grenade.

  • mp_coopmission_bot_difficulty_offset [value]

You can offset the difficulty of bots during the coop mission. The default value is set to 0, so just increase it to your preferred value.

Kick Bot Commands

  • bot_kick [criteria]

This is a very useful command because it allows you to kick different types of bots based on criteria. Typing bot_kick will kick all bots from the server. However, if you combine it with specific criteria you can filter through bots and kick only the ones you want to be kicked. It is similar to the “bot add” command, and you can kick bots by side, difficulty, or name. e.g. bot_kick CT will kick all the bots from CT side.

  • bot_kill [criteria]

Unlike the bot_kick command, this command will kill the bots, but it will not kick them from the server. This means that they will still respawn in the next round. Just like in the previous command, the same criteria is used to select the bots to be killed. For example bot_kill normal will kill all bots at normal difficulty.

Global Offensive — CS.

MONEY on DTF

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has bots and it’s cool. They can be used for practicing, recording demos, or just studying maps. CS.MONEY talks about the main commands for managing bots.

Let’s start with the main command — sv_cheats 1. Server cheats greatly simplify and speed up the training process, so when working with bots it’s better to always keep them enabled.

Add and remove bots

To add bots, use the bot_add command. She will add a bot to one of the teams. When bot_add t and bot_add ct are entered into the console, the bots will be thrown into the attack and defense commands, respectively.

Bots are removed in a similar way. Bot_kick will remove all bots from the server, and the addition of T and CT will kick bots from the server in the attack or defense command, respectively. You can also kick a specific bot by entering bot_kick bot_name.

If bots need to be removed for a while, for example, before the end of the round, then it’s easier to use bot_kill. The command works with the same postscripts as kick, but instead of kicking the bots from the server, it simply kills them.

Armament and armor

All bots can start with full armor, body armor, or no armor at all. The mp_free_armor and mp_max_armor commands are used for this. They share variables among themselves. If you enter these commands with a value of 0, then the bots will be without armor at all, with 1 they will have a vest, and with 2 they will have full armor.

Weapons can be configured with the bot_knives_only command. After entering it, bots will only run with knives. More fine tuning of the purchase should be done using bot_loadout weapon_name. For example, after entering bot_loadout deagle hegrenade into the console, all bots on the server will appear with a deagle and a fragmentation grenade.

The last command to configure weapons is bot_allow_weapon_type. In total, bots can be allowed and prohibited, the value is 1 and 0, respectively, the following types of weapons:

  • Grenades — bot_allow_grenades;
  • Machine guns — bot_allow_machine_guns;
  • Pistols — bot_allow_pistols;
  • Rifles — bot_allow_rifles;
  • Shotguns — bot_allow_shotguns;
  • Sniper rifles — bot_allow_snipers;
  • Submachine guns — bot_allow_sub_machine_guns.

Movement and behavior

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has a number of commands to control the movement and behavior of bots. To prevent artificial intelligence from shooting, it is worth using the bot_dont_shoot command. Note that with this command, the bots will aim, but will not shoot.

You can stop bots completely with the bot_stop command. After the introduction, the bots will stop any actions, no matter what they do. You can disable walking with the bot_freeze command. Both commands work with variables 0 and 1, where 1 activates the effect and 0 cancels it.

To put the bot in a specific position, use the bot_place command. The bot_crouch 1 command will make the bots crouch, and with a variable of 0 it will stand up. Finally, the bot_mimic command will cause the bots to mimic all of the player’s movements.

Difficulty and respawn

To warm up, you can play against bots on a regular map. In this case, it is better to set the appropriate difficulty. There are only four difficulty levels for bots in the game:

  • Light
  • Normal
  • Complex
  • Expert

You can set the difficulty with the bot_difficulty command. It has four variables from 0 to 3, where 0 are light bots and 3 are expert bots.

To speed up the process, the instant revival of bots will not hurt. It is configured with two commands: mp_respawn_on_death_ct and mp_respawn_on_death_t. If set to 1, these commands will spawn defensive and offensive bots respectively.

That’s it. These are all the basic commands for controlling bots, which will allow you to use them for training or shooting movies and demos. Did you like the note? Don’t forget to share with a friend, maybe this will be the beginning of the career of the greatest movie maker for him!

You can also choose game modes with bots: «Deathmatch», «Arms Race», «Normal», «Competitive», «Destruction of objects». After you have chosen a card, click on the «Start» in the lower right corner.

Next, select the difficulty level of the game with bots. There are 6 difficulty levels in total.

After choosing the difficulty level, click «Start».

Choose a side: «Terrorists» or «Special Forces».

Choose a side and play. On most maps, the terrorists must plant the bomb in certain places, and the special forces must prevent this from being done or defuse the bomb.

Playing with bots in csgo does not require knowledge of console commands or special plugins.
