Finally, today on the site IT-lessons, the long-awaited exam! I hope you repeated the previous 13 lessons (don’t let this figure scare you :)), and went to other sections of the site (yes, they will also come in handy).
I made a test of thirty questions, and so as not to get bored, I diluted them a little with humor.

HOW TO CREATE THE PERFECT COMPUTER TEST?
Dmitry Abbakumov, EDUTAINME, January 20, 2015
What do you need to correctly compose and conduct a computer test? In the last article, we talked about different types of tests and compared them with each other. Dmitry Abbakumov, Head of the HSE Laboratory for Adaptive Educational Technologies, shares practical advice in the new issue of this column.
Most often in the tests there are the following forms: closed tasks in which you need to choose the correct answer from the proposed options; open tasks that require self-construction of the answer; assignments to establish a correspondence between elements of two sets; tasks to establish the correct sequence. In this article, we will focus on closed-form tasks.
Closed-form tasks: types, pros and cons
The advantages of the tasks of the closed form are the breadth of coverage in terms of content, the simplicity of calculating the primary scores of students and objectivity. The disadvantages include the high risks associated with guessing and, no matter how strange it may sound, the difficulties of composing such tasks. For example, to get 20 good assignments, an experienced test designer would need to write 40, half of which will be rejected during the examination and testing. The reason for rejection is most often the incorrect functioning of the task (for example, when one or more response alternatives are not chosen by the subjects or, in other words, do not work). The “output” of high-quality tasks for novice developers, as a rule, does not exceed 1/5. | Do you want to learn how to design professional knowledge tests? Come to our seminar: after three days of intensive training, you will be able to independently compose qualification tests and evaluate the quality of other methods. |
There are several types of closed-form tasks: with the choice of one correct answer and with the choice of all correct answers. In the first case, you need to choose the most correct answer from the list of suggestions. In tasks with the choice of all correct answers, the subject is offered several response alternatives, among which there may be several correct ones. In this case, the subject must choose all the correct answers.
Mandatory elements of tasks of the closed form are instructions for execution and the main part of the task, containing the statement of the problem and response alternatives (usually, response alternatives 3-7). Despite its apparent simplicity, the creation of tasks is painstaking work, in many ways reminiscent of cutting a precious stone. Below are 6 tips and 6 principles that will help both beginners and experienced task developers.
Six tips for composing closed-form assignments:
- Avoid ambiguity or ambiguity in the assignment text and never use the phrase “what do you think”.
- Avoid words in the task that may look like a hint, including words with the same root in the text of the task and in the answers.
- When formulating response alternatives, try not to use unnecessarily the words: all, none, never, always; and expressions: none of the above, all of the above.
- Include a larger text in the main part of the task, and leave only important keywords for answer alternatives.
- Try to ensure that all answer alternatives to one task are approximately the same length, including the correct answers.
- Do not forget to follow the rules of the Russian language (spelling, punctuation, consistency in number, case, gender).
Six principles of composition of tasks of the closed form:
CONTRADICTION PRINCIPLE
Answers are selected so that the second negates the first.
Organic glass is a plastic material consisting of thermoplastic resin
a) with fillers.
b) without fillers.
THE OPPOSITION PRINCIPLE
The answers allow for the possibility of the potential existence of other transitional concepts and states.
A function that has a positive derivative in an interval, in this interval
a) increases.
b) remains constant.
c) is decreasing.
THE PRINCIPLE OF HOMOGENEITY
Answers are selected that belong to the same genus, species, or display different sides, facets of the phenomenon.
Constitutional control in France is exercised
a) by the Council of State.
b) Constitutional Council.
c) Constitutional Court.
CUMULATION PRINCIPLE
The content of each answer absorbs (accumulates) the content of the previous one.
A tolerant attitude is called
a) reflexive.
b) reflexive and symmetrical.
c) reflexive, symmetric and transitive.
COMBINATION PRINCIPLE
A combination of two, three, four words (characters) is used in each answer.
The mechanical work done by the body during translational motion depends on
a) force and time.
b) forces and displacements.
c) strength and distance covered.
DOUBLE ALTERNATIVE PRINCIPLE
When constructing answers, a contrast is used, built on the principle of contradiction or the principle of opposition.
The developed countries are characterized by
a) low birth rate and low mortality.
b) high birth rate and low death rate.
c) high birth rate and high death rate.
d) low birth rate and high death rate.
Speaking about the rules for scoring, closed-form tests usually use a dichotomous assessment: for a correct answer, the test participant receives 1 point, for an incorrect answer or for no answer, 0 points. The summation of all units allows you to calculate the individual score of the subject (primary score).
It is important to note that the text contains the most important tips and common principles.
