Cheats red dead: How to make money fast in Red Dead Redemption 2

How to make money fast in Red Dead Redemption 2

To make money fast in Red Dead Redemption 2 and get cash isn’t easy as an outlaw, but you can make money in a variety of ways regardless — usually by helping strangers, killing bandits, or vice versa if you’re feeling a little more «black hat». There’s a lot of ways to make cash beyond that, such as hunting and selling meat at butcher shops, but a lot of these only provide drip-feed income, suitable for refilling  ammo and little else.

It’s hard not to be poor in the earlier chapters, though things get a little better later when you unlock (ha, ha) the Red Dead Redemption 2 fence locations and lock breaker to trade your collected trinkets for actual cash, but even after then it’s worth knowing some good money making schemes. Here’s some solid ways to make money fast in Red Dead Redemption 2 , and how you can pay off just about any bounty you accrue.

Check out our video walkthrough below for how to make money fast:

1.

Sell horses

Horses are a good source of business in Red Dead Redemption 2, provided you know how to make the most out of the trade. Any horse you acquire in the game can be brought to a stable to sell off, stow, or upgrade, but the buyer’s price will vary depending on the type of horse you’re trying to flog. If your steed was obtained illegally, for instance, then stablemasters an offer as little as $3 or less, while standard breeds will barely go for much more, even with the right documentation.

However, if you manage to find a speedy race horse or beefy shire, the potential profit could be huge, so the added effort of tracking, taming, and bringing them back into town is definitely worth the trouble. Wild horses can be found throughout the open world, but capturing them requires a fair degree of patience and skill, so don’t go running after every bronco you see.

2. Hunt animals (and people)

It’s no secret that butchers, trappers, and store clerks will pay good money for animal pelts and meat in Red Dead Redemption 2, but there’s a certain talent to making sure each haul brings in the most bang for its buck. For one thing, pelts are harvested in different qualities depending on how the animal was killed. Get a headshot on a rabbit with a small game varmint rifle, for example, and there’s a good chance the pelt will be in perfect condition.

Fire half a dozen revolver rounds into a flock of chickens, and it’s probably not even worth the trip back to town. These raw goods will also begin to rot and degrade over time, so the quicker you sell it off, the better price you’ll get. But animals aren’t the only prey on Arthur Morgan’s radar. Find Wanted Posters at Sheriff’s offices in towns, and you’ll be able to start a bounty hunting mission to bring in any active criminals, which can bring in upwards of $100 or more.

3. Help strangers where possible

While Red Dead Redemption 2’s honor system is supposedly unbiased, there’s definitely a lot of hard benefits to being the good cowboy throughout the western frontier. Stores will buy and sell to law abiding citizens at better rates, while staying on the right side of the authorities also means you won’t have to worry about paying off any bounties on your head, which can quickly rack up into the hundreds if you’re not careful, subsequently increasing the number of bounty hunters who’ll be constantly on your tail.

Being kind to strangers in Red Dead Redemption 2’s random encounters often leads to long-term dividends, too, as many will repay you with favours and rewards later on in the game. Whenever you’re tempted to rob a store or kill a rando for cash, then, maybe think again.

4. Complete story missions and side quests

This may seem like outlining the obvious, but there’s no denying that Red Dead Redemption 2’s series of campaign and side missions is an easy, straightforward way to earn money fast and effectively from the very beginning. While not every quest guarantees bucket loads of cash, or any at all for that matter, some represent the biggest rewards available in the game so far.

This is particularly the case when you decide to rob a homestead or go out hunting for legendary animals with one of your gang members, as they’ll split the rewards with you or, better yet, let you enjoy the entire thing. Of course, as the campaign escalates in scale and scope, that money pot is only going to get bigger too, so anyone who focuses solely on finishing the story before doing anything else won’t be short of the big bucks.

5. Sell carriages and trinkets to fences

The fence is a specific type of salesman found throughout the west in Red Dead Redemption 2, one who deals mainly in animal goods and hunting tools. The first one you’ll meet is at Emerald Station, east of Valentine, and he’ll pay a good price for any trinkets you come across in the game, such as pocket watches, gold bars, or consumables. You can also bring stolen carriages back to his stable for less legitimate trade, which will net you a sizeable wad of notes per vehicle, and can be robbed from homesteads, towns, or just out on the road.

6. Learn how to gamble

Gambling is about as profitable in Red Dead Redemption 2 as it in real life, in that your chances of making money are acutely dependent on a mix of luck and skill. If you happen to be a dab hand at poker or blackjack, then go ahead and find a table in a nearby saloon to start earning some easy cash, but there are also less complicated games like dominoes and Five Finger Fillet to compete in, with some the larger pots of money well worth the time it takes to participate. Of course, as is the nature of gambling, all your winnings can go down the drain when your overstep your position and lose everything in a single swoop but, hey, there’s always the opportunity to bounce back with a killer hand in the next round.

7. Don’t go crazy buying any guns

This is more of a tip on saving money than making it, but the thing you need to remember about Red Dead Redemption 2 is that the weapons are as authentic to the time period as possible. In other words, they’re never going to be as powerful as the firearms you’d find in Grand Theft Auto 5, nor as varied, but that’s good news for Arthur Morgan’s wallet.

While gun stores do offer a healthy deal of choice for weapon purchases and customisation, it’s not worth splashing huge amounts of cash on them early, especially when several story campaigns will provide you with some of the best weapons in the game for free.  Even without those easy pickups, every enemy you fight will drop weaponry that can be equipped, oiled, and upgraded to get yourself a decent gun a much lower price than if you were to buy it from a store.

8. Rob bandit camps

If you spot smoke rising into the sky during your travels across the frontier in Red Dead Redemption 2, chances are that it’s coming from the hearth of a bandit camp. These randomly located hideouts are a good source of loot and money, but you’ll have to deal with the outlaws guarding it all first. Your best bet is to capture them by surprise, and start shooting before they can get a chance to shoot back. With the bandits dead, you’re free to go in and pick up whatever you can find from their corpses, chests, and horses satchels. When totalled together, the haul can be quite a remunerative taking, so don’t pass these opportunities up.

9. Complete the Jack Hall gang treasure hunt

Want to make a quick 1000 bucks? Speak to the stranger called Maximo west of Flatneck Station, and you’ll be able to purchase a treasure map off of him for $10. This begins the Red Dead Redemption 2 Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map hunt, a three step process which leads you to uncover two gold bars that can be sold for $500 each at the fence at Emerald Station.

It’s an easy path to money making, especially when you read up our Jack Hall treasure hunt guide to complete all the steps without having to crack the (surprisingly difficult) code yourself. It’s also a nice way to explore the map, revealing more of its contents as you travel to each corner of the world during the treasure hunt itself. Bring a horse, and make sure you’ve packed plenty of supplies for the road trip.

The best Red Dead Redemption 2 weapons

If you want to choose the best Red Dead Redemption 2 weapons then you’ll need to be selective, because there are around 60 of them available during the main campaign which gives you a large cache to take your pick from. There are restrictions on how many firearms you can take with you as there are only so many slots in your gun belt and horse saddle, and as your options include revolvers, shotguns, rifles, and more, you’ll need to ensure the weapons you keep handy match up appropriately with your Red Dead Redemption 2 playing style. In order to help you select the right loadout for your upcoming battles, we’ve got details of the best Red Dead Redemption 2 weapons around, as well as information on how to mod your guns and create special ammo to provide additional useful effects during combat.

Want to get started with a free gun? We’ve got the details for how to get a free gun in Red Dead Redemption 2 in the video below:

How to mod weapons and ammo in Red Dead Redemption 2

Any weapon in the game can be improved with a swift visit to a gunsmith. These gun gurus will happily change your weapon’s look, mod it with better parts, and help you craft more effective ammo for a price. Everything from stag engravings for the stock of that rifle, to iron sights for a shotgun can be modded. Just select the Styles menu at a gunsmith and you can tweak your gun’s leather, engravings, carvings, varnish, and the type of metal that coats your weapon. For new parts, select Components, where you can customise your gun with a new stock, leather wrap, or a longer barrel to give your weapon increased accuracy.

Gunsmiths also sell different type of ammunition. For pistols and rifles, you’ve got Regular, Express (greater damage), and High Velocity (greater damage and increased range). With shotguns, you have the choice between Regular and Slug – the latter offers increased range and accuracy.

You can also make your own ammo out in the wilderness by setting up camp. Provided you have the right supplies and have unlocked the appropriate blueprints from the fence in Saint Denis, you can craft the likes of Split Point ammo for your pistol or rifle (which provides more damage and slower Dead Eye drain), or even explosive arrows. For the latter, you’ll need arrows, TNT, and flight feathers, which can be obtained by shooting most birds in the game then plucking their corpses. With the likes of Split Point, Express, and High Velocity ammo, you only need normal bullets to craft these more potent rounds.

Best Handguns in Red Dead Redemption 2

Schofield Revolver

A gorgeous gun where beauty and brutality combine. The majesty of this firearm’s ornate etchings is matched by its brilliant firing speed, dead-on accuracy, and daunting damage stats. Dual-wield two of these pretty pistols and Arthur will be more or less unstoppable.

Semi-Automatic Pistol

Arguably the best pistol in Arthur’s adventure. Holding 16 bullets and rocking a seriously impressive rate of fire, this handgun is your best friend in large-scale shootouts. Not only does it pack an ace reload rate, but it can also be dual-wielded with another single hand weapon. Pair it with the Schofield Revolver or Sawed-off Shotgun for the ultimate combo of speedy death and instant outlaw-crippling devastation.

Midnight’s Pistol

Complete the Billy Midnight Gunslinger side quest, and this decorative, deadly handgun can be yours. With a brilliant fire rate, buttery handling, and impressive reload and accuracy stats, this pistol is close to the total package. While it’s not as powerful as the Volcanic Pistol, its overall strengths make it a more well-rounded gun. Good luck with that showdown with Billy, though. It took us seven attempts to win the pistol duel with the crotchety gunslinger. Try not to unholster your gun too early.

Best Rifles in Red Dead Redemption 2

Springfield Rifle

One of the best guns you can get your hands on during your first few hours with Red Dead Redemption 2. The Springfield Rifle may be slow to reload, but it justifies its place on this list thanks to its awesome range and power. If you want to clear out gang hideouts from a distance – and haven’t played enough of the game to unlock the Carcano Rifle – the Springfield is the gun for you. Its stopping power is so great, it’s also an ideal option for taking down large predators, like brown and grizzly bears.

Litchfield Rifle

Probably the best repeater in the game, and a gun that packs one hell of a murderous punch. While its reload rate is borderline glacial, and its accuracy not quite class-leading, the Litchfield makes up for it with its amazing rate of fire and outlaw-eviscerating power. Great for down and dirty gang shootouts, you should buy the Litchfield as soon as Arthur’s criminal change purse can afford it.

Best Sniper Rifles in Red Dead Redemption 2

Carcano Rifle

No other gun combines the accuracy and potency of this deadly sniper. The Carcano is so effective, the game stops you from unlocking it until chapter six. Once you finish the Micah Bell-focused mission at the beginning of Arthur’s final act, this ultra accurate sharpshooter becomes available. Boasting impressive range, damage and reload speed, this is the ultimate gun for putting down outlaws from hundreds of metres away.

Rare Rolling Block Rifle

While the vanilla Rolling Block Rifle can’t hold a candle to the Carcano, a super rare hybrid of the sniper deserves to make this list. During the chapter three mission ‘Magicians for Sport’, you have the chance to loot this beautiful rifle from the corpse of an enemy. Once you’ve taken out the bad guys hiding in the cornfields, Arthur will storm a nearby barn. One of these enemies holds the Rare Rolling Block Rifle, so once you’ve killed all of them, loot their corpses and this sniper will be yours — just try not to get distracted by those gorgeous markings on the handle.

Best Shotguns in Red Dead Redemption 2

Repeating Shotgun

If you like your cowboy killing sprees to be up close and personal, meet your new favourite firearm. Unlike every other shotty in the game (barring the Semi-Auto), the Repeating Shotgun can spew out slugs like it was a repeater rifle. Yes, its firing speed isn’t exactly stellar, but when you can hold this many cartridges in the chamber without reloading, only the most curmudgeonly of cowpokes would complain about it.

Sawed-off Shotgun

On its lonesome, the Sawed-off is merely a pretty good gun. Yet when you pair it with another Sawed-off, the murdery equation changes drastically. Arm Arthur with two of these shotties and the sheer firing power the outlaw can boast will stop any enemy or animal in the game. Get within spitting distance of any foe, and a pair of these dual-wielding weapons will instantly slay them.

If you want the ultimate version of this weapon, you should visit Manito Glade, just north of Annesburg. Out in the wilderness, you’ll find a shack owned by an extremely unwelcoming outlaw. Put the grumpy gunslinger down, and the Rare Double-Barrel Shotgun is yours. For close-range kills, there’s no more potent weapon in the game.

Best Melee Weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2

Tomahawk

The most forceful close combat weapon in the game, and one that becomes even more potent if you visit the fence in Saint Denis. Pay a visit to the city’s criminal shop, and you can purchase the blueprints for a Homing Tomahawk. Once you’ve bought the extra murderous pamphlet, build a camp after you’ve acquired a normal tomahawk and the feather from an owl, and this homicidally accurate throwing weapon will be yours.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Best Cheats — Crast.net

Rockstar Games is known for its combination of open-world games, solid gameplay, and thoughtful storytelling with goofy characters. In addition, his games are also known for allowing the player to cheat in a variety of ways, from the useful to the bizarre. While the Grand Theft Auto TV series is particularly notable, its Western cousin Red Dead Redemption And the recent sequels also show how the system worked and changed the world.

The formats that these cheats accept are extremely varied. Some try to overcome the difficulties that Arthur Morgan may face in his adventures, while others pursue a less noble goal — to bring chaos to a ridiculous level. Whatever the player’s preference, there’s no doubt that there are some great options out there when the vanilla feel starts to dilute. nine0003

Excellent horses are simply the best of the best. They are fast, full of stamina and have a lot of health, offering stats across the board that are better than any other mount class. It’s also extremely useful for solving the classic problem of what to do when a player’s horse has died in the wilderness. nine0003

To enable a cheat that would make ammo stores redundant, typing «abundance is the least desirable» would give the player infinite ammo for all weapons in the inventory. There is a small caveat: the player must own either Hannover 27 or St. Denis 43, both newspapers can be obtained at any time after chapter 2 (without worrying about too much ammo before then, otherwise too). nine0003

While this cheat lacks practical application, it is a fun way to enjoy a very authentic West Twilight experience in the end. It also saves a few precious cents for the more economical player. nine0003
