Military Ranks

Military ranks are the standard pre-season ranks you must achieve before hitting the first prestige. The military ranks unlock several default loadouts, gunsmith options, and default weapons for you to run in multiplayer and Warzone 2.

You start with rank 1 and progress all the way up to rank 55 before you can hit prestige one. The military ranking is important and pretty much essential if you want to jump into any mode of the game, as it gives you access to your tactical and lethal equipment, field upgrades, killstreaks, and the perks. All of these are essential components in Multiplayer and Warzone 2.

Prestige Ranks

Once you’ve hit the max military rank of 55, you can continue to earn XP and rank up, earning prestige status at certain milestones. Each prestige rank rewards players with an animated emblem, allowing them to brag about their hard work.

You can earn up to four prestige ranks in each season. Fret not if you cannot earn all the prestige ranks within a season though. You will be able to continue your progress in the following season to catch up with other players.

As mentioned earlier, you earn prestige ranks at certain milestone levels. The prestige rank milestones are as follows:

  • Prestige Rank 1: Reach rank 56.
  • Prestige Rank 2: Reach rank 100.
  • Prestige Rank 3: Reach rank 150.
  • Prestige Rank 4: Reach rank 200.
  • Prestige Rank 5: Reach rank 250.

Rank 250 is the level cap for each season. Once the new season is released, your seasonal prestige rank is reset back to 1. You need to grind your way back to 250, essentially from rank 56, to earn the new prestige ranks and get new emblems representing the new seasonal prestige ranks.

Note that if you haven’t completed all prestige ranks in the previous season, you will continue from the previously acquired prestige rank.

How To Rank Up?

You can use various methods to rank up in Modern Warfare 2 to hit those big milestones.

Do Objectives

This is one of the most underrated methods that not many players talk about. Many players tend to go for higher kills in each game. While that may give you a good XP boost, most of it will come from playing the objectives.

Play objective-based game modes like Domination and Hardpoint. Try to play the objectives as much as possible to gain a lot of XP.

Daily Challenges

Complete your daily challenges across both Multiplayer and Special Ops. The challenges are fairly easy, and you earn up to 2,500 XP points for just one challenge completion. You can complete three daily challenges for 7,500 XP points.

You also have daily challenges specific to the Special Ops mode. Go to the mode, and check the challenges. The challenges are quite easy and mostly mission-related.

Bonus Challenges

Once you’ve completed your three daily challenges, you get two optional bonus challenges. You can only do one of these two challenges and earn 10,000 XP. These challenges are also extremely easy and do not take much time.

The same applies to Special Ops. Once you’ve gone through the three daily challenges, you will get a set of two optional bonus challenges. You can complete any one of the challenges to earn 10,000 XP.

If you combine daily and bonus challenges across Multiplayer and Special Ops, you get a lot of XP in a single day. If you have double XP tokens, utilize them to get even more XP.

Career Challenges

You can go for career challenges that are split into different milestones. Each milestone nets you a tremendous amount of XP points. Career challenges are always available for you to complete, and there are plenty of them.

In addition to the XP, you also unlock unique calling cards to complete the challenges.

Spec Ops Intel

Special Ops mode has plenty of Intel scattered around the map in all of its missions. Collect the Intel and do weekly star challenges to earn XP and other rewards.

Feel free to check out our Spec Ops Intel guides and how to collect them.

DMZ Mode

DMZ mode is the new talk of the town and rewards players with a lot of XP if played right. There is a full chain of rewards associated specifically with the DMZ mode.

You can earn not only a ton of XP points but also unique weapon blueprints, calling cards, and emblems. If you’re lost in navigating the new mode, check out our DMZ guide.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

The Modern Warfare 2 Prestige system is similar to previous Call of Duty games, and is a way for players to show off their skill and experience. In addition, it serves as an unlock platform for various cosmetics. It’s been a staple of Call of Duty for years, with Infinity Ward opting for a more permanent, old-school approach to the ranking system.

Season Prestige Ranks are unlocked once you surpass the MW2 max level of 55, and reward your success with an emblem, additional rewards, and a set of challenges, with various calling cards available for complete said challenges.

Can you Prestige in Modern Warfare 2

Now Modern Warfare 2 season one is here, the Prestige system has been rolled out. To get Prestige ranks in Modern Warfare 2, play matches to get Military Ranks (MR) until you reach MR 55. You then continue to earn Prestige ranks as you level up, with certain milestones offering different levels of Prestige.

When season 1 ends, you can continue to rank up from whichever Prestige rank you ended up at, allowing players who fell behind during the season to catch up.

There are three main ways of ranking up in Modern Warfare 2, and taking advantage of all three in tandem will offer you the fastest way to level up.

Here’s how to gain ranks in Modern Warfare 2:

  • Multiplayer matches: gaining XP from playing multiplayer matches and advancing through levels 1-55 grants you various weapon platforms, multiplayer loadout items, and Spec Ops kits.
  • Daily Challenges: you can complete three daily challenges in multiplayer or Spec Ops modes. Completing all three will unlock a bonus objective which offers triple the XP of a regular challenge.
  • Additional Challenges: career milestone challenges will be available for XP and cosmetic rewards. These could be something like winning matches in a specific game mode.

Season 1 Prestige Ranks

Here are the Prestige Ranks for Modern Warfare 2 season 1:

  • Prestige 1: Unlocked at rank 56.
  • Prestige 2: Unlocked at rank 100.
  • Prestige 3: Unlocked at rank 150.
  • Prestige 4: Unlocked at rank 200.
  • Prestige 5: Unlocked at rank 250, and is the level cap until the end of season 1.

If you’re currently planning your multiplayer domination and your journey to Prestige 5, it’s a good idea to brush up on all the Modern Warfare 2 perks and killstreaks. Also, reading this breakdown of all the Modern Warfare 2 maps wouldn’t hurt.

What does international debt mean to you?

February 15 is the Day of Remembrance for Russians who performed their duty outside the Fatherland. The date was not chosen by chance. It was on this day in 1989 that the last column of Soviet troops left Afghanistan. Thus ended the war, which lasted nine years and claimed the lives of 15,000 Soviet citizens. nine0008

More than thirty years have passed since then, during which time there have been different assessments about the entry of Soviet troops into Afghanistan, as well as their withdrawal from its territory. One thing is clear — our country in different periods of its history has always come to the aid of states that needed support, and our citizens fulfilled their international duty, sometimes at the cost of their lives.

Arslan E., health worker:

— The worst thing about international debt is that you repay it in most cases in wartime. This is the most uncomfortable and most painful topic, because, having set off as peacekeepers, we returned from there as completely different people. And someone did not return at all … All arrogance and bravado disappear after the first real battle, but you must go to the end for the truth that you came here to defend. And no awards or monetary rewards will be compensation for the wounds you received. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing a white coat or camouflage. I remember how they tried to save our countryman, my age, without any hope they sent him to a hospital in Moscow. And I was very surprised when, after returning home six months later, I found out that he was alive and was gradually recovering. The first aid rendered to him then by us is one of my main victories.

Zemfira DZASOKHOVA, senior warrant officer of the medical service:

– Remembering Afghanistan is hard. Everyone went there with different thoughts, but we fought for the sake of one and strived to fulfill our duty with dignity. I was in charge of a pharmacy, if you can call it that, a point with medicines, organized in some back room. We wrote prescription after prescription, provided medical assistance. We were thrashed by shells, we lost a lot of guys … Everyone is equal before death — privates, commanders, and doctors. Then I thought little about some high mission. But when at the beginning of 19On the 87th I returned home, the first time in civilian life was very difficult, it took me a long time to get used to ordinary things. Perhaps that is why she wanted to go to Afghanistan again, but was not allowed to. But then two more Chechen campaigns took place …

Anatoly BONDARENKO, retired lieutenant colonel, Ardon:

— For more than thirty years in the Soviet army, I had to serve in various regions of the country — from the Far East to Ukraine and Turkestan. But Afghanistan is a special milestone in my life. We, the soldiers and officers of the Soviet army, in this southern and unfamiliar country were fulfilling our international duty. For us it was a matter of honor. It is not the fault of our people that Afghanistan in those years became a testing ground for big world politics, and that international assistance turned into a brutal war. I am proud that I served in Afghanistan with soldiers with a high sense of civic duty, courage and courage, faithful to the military oath.
nine0003

Amiran ELBACHITY, Verkhniy Fiagdon village, Alagir district:

– I found out that I would serve in Afghanistan only after «training» in the Turkestan city of Tejen. Yes, and all of us, ordinary guys who arrived from all the former Soviet republics for military service, did not even suspect that we would become eyewitnesses and participants in that war. Thirty-five years have passed since then, but I remember well that we were united by a sense of patriotism, the understanding that by helping the Afghan people, we are fulfilling our international duty.
nine0003

Andrey SHATROV, teacher of social sciences at VTE, retired colonel, combat veteran:

— International duty, international education — the words of the past, Soviet times, but even now they are important for our modern Russian society, especially in the education and upbringing of the younger generation. It is precisely today, when the West is making attempts to split our society, to impose on us its understanding of democracy, but in fact — the policy of subjugation and obedience to the weak side, ignoring our national interests, it is vitally important for us, Russians, to educate young people in the spirit of internationalism, because we are a multinational country, and we have a single homeland — Russia. We must protect the interests of our statehood, our multifaceted culture, our future and teach this to young people.
nine0003

Mikhail SARHOSHEV, participant in the war in Afghanistan:

— I served in Afghanistan for two years as a senior lieutenant from 1987 to 1989. at the outpost as part of an artillery regiment. Participated in battles to intercept and destroy caravans of dushmans and local gangs.

Therefore, for me, international duty is, of course, rendering assistance to friendly peoples. When it is necessary to protect their independence and freedom, and above all the security of their homeland, to defend its interests and the interests of our compatriots.
nine0003

After all, we provided not only military support, but also built hospitals, schools, communications and infrastructure. The locals knew that they could turn to the shuravi, and they would certainly be helped.

Kazbek TSIDAEV, Deputy Director of the Vladikavkaz Medical College:

– In the 1970s, as part of the Marine Corps of the Red Banner Pacific Fleet, I traveled to countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Somalia, Guinea-Bissau, Yemen, the islands of Socotra, and Mauritius. I will not expand on the details of my visits. Let me just say that wherever I was, I tried, together with my colleagues, to keep high the brand of a marine, to raise the prestige of our country, respect for it. nine0003

Nikolai Petrunin appealed to Russians who performed their military duty outside the Fatherland

15/02/2021 14:50

State Duma deputy from the Tula region, member of the United Russia faction Nikolai Petrunin addressed the soldiers-internationalists on the Day of Remembrance of Russians who performed their duty outside the Fatherland.

The message says:

nine0002 — Warriors — internationalists, veterans of hostilities and local conflicts — almost every Soviet and Russian generation had its own war.

The war in Afghanistan is the most famous and large-scale example of the participation of the Soviet army in hostilities outside the country. Almost simultaneously with the Afghan war, Soviet soldiers and officers took part in the fighting on the territory of Angola.

Today, Russian servicemen are outside the country, both as part of the UN peacekeeping contingents, and in Syria, where there is a group of Russian troops participating in combat operations against terrorists. nine0003

Russia is a great power, and if in peacetime people take the risk of defending their homeland beyond its borders, go to fight terrorists far from home, then they fully deserve our respect and recognition of their merits.

Many internationalist soldiers and combat veterans who went through «hot spots» are still in the ranks: they are engaged in patriotic education of youth, increase the prestige of military service, and help maintain the authority of the Russian Army. nine0003

With all my heart I wish the combat veterans good health and prosperity!
