Amazon Prime Gaming’s June Battlefield
Amazon Prime Gaming. It’s not something I write about too much, though that’s primarily because it’s not something I think about as much as I likely ought to. Why should I? Because I already subscribe to prime, and the bonuses are just on top of what I’m already paying for anyway. The other reason is simply that some of the giveaways are pretty good.
Case in point, from yesterday (1st of June) to the 21st of June, you can claim a free copy of Battlefield 4. Sure, it’s not the latest Battlefield, but it’s still a decent one. One that’s still fairly active online and does have a decent enough single-player campaign for you to play through. Oh, and it’s free, so there’s no real reason not to pick up your Origin key if you already have an Amazon Prime Subscription.

Battleground Mode: Global PvP Competition Starts Monday!
Commands and command precedence
You may notice that the most successful battle for the commander is when you first give the order to attack, and then move (in this order).
The command of each individual vehicle is subject to the following rules:
- When ordered to attack an enemy vehicle, that vehicle will have priority until you destroy it, or until it goes beyond firing range, or until an order is given to attack another tank . nine0012
- A move order does not cancel an attack order. The vehicle will drive and continue its attempts to destroy the marked target.
- An attack order cancels a move order.
The vehicle’s priority will shift to attack, meaning it will stop in place to fire.
Vehicles will continue to fire/defend automatically until they are ordered to switch fire to a specific enemy.
Allied vehicles will maneuver slightly away from their current position unless ordered to move. This is because it makes it easier for them to find cover, detect a target, or tilt their armor to defend themselves. nine0007
Line of sight indicator
Line of sight indicator shows where the sights of the selected vehicles are looking.
Selected and unselected vehicles
Selected vehicles are marked in green, and unselected vehicles are not indicated at all.
Move command and waypoints
When you issue a move command to a selected vehicle (or several selected tanks), a flag is set on the battlefield. It indicates the position to which the car (or cars) will move.
The flag will remain in place until the tank reaches its destination, another order is given, or the tank is deselected. Don’t worry if the flag disappears when you decide to switch to another tank: the vehicle will continue to move, it’s just that the flag is displayed only for the tanks that are currently selected. nine0007
Waypoint commands allow you to assign multiple waypoints to which vehicles will travel. The selected car will move from point to point in order, starting with the first set and ending with the last. This tactic is very useful for maneuvering light and medium tanks around the map.
The lines drawn on the mini-map show the path of the tank.
Vehicle Reload Indicator
If you look at the icons above each vehicle, you will see a reload indicator. It shows when this machine will fire the next shot. In addition, at the bottom of the screen you will see the reload indicator of the selected vehicle. nine0007
Attacking Enemy Vehicles
When an enemy vehicle is targeted, two UI elements appear to indicate that an allied vehicle is attacking it.
First, this car is circled in red. Secondly, a red target icon appears under the number of durability points. Both of these items will be displayed until the vehicle is destroyed, another command is issued, or the allied vehicle is deselected.

At the top of the screen, you can see the total HP of each team. Use this information to attack or retreat.
Control tips and D-pad indicators
Pay attention to the lower left corner of the screen. There you will almost always see management tips. If you suddenly forget how to give an order, or do not know how to act in a given game situation, these tips will help!
Directly below the tooltips you will find a D-pad icon that demonstrates new functionality aimed at making it easier for you to select a specific car. Pressing the Up button will select all available light tanks. The Right button will allow you to select all medium tanks.
Down — all tank destroyers, and to the left — all strands. By double clicking on one of these buttons, you will select all vehicles of a particular type and link the camera to the nearest tank. nine0007
When you hold RT/R2, you will see the D-pad indicator change to display different numbers. If you have multiple vehicles selected, continuing to hold RT/R2 and one of the D-pad buttons will allow you to create a group of vehicles. To access this group, simply press and hold RT/R2 again and select the appropriate D-pad button to select a group or link the camera to these machines.
Tool to select area
Holding ‘A’ on an Xbox controller or ‘X’ on a PS4 controller will open a tool that allows you to select an area. Use this opportunity to quickly select a group of tanks.
Vehicle Spawns
Vehicles will spawn in a match in a pre-formed formation, making it easier to select tanks of a certain type and send them into battle together.

Use additional commands and tips for choosing a vehicle class to drive your vehicles even more successfully!
- Xbox One:
- Hold ‘RT’ and select multiple machines with ‘A’ to create a temporary group.

- Hold ‘R2’ and press and hold any button on the D-pad with multiple selected vehicles in your squad to create a permanent group.

- Double click on the ‘X’ above a single vehicle in your squad to select all available tanks of that type.
- Click on ‘R1’ to select all vehicles in your squad that are visible on the screen.
- Double tap on ‘R1’ to select all vehicles in your squad in the match.
Ground camera view
Pressing the right analog stick (on any platform) will immediately switch to ground camera mode. With this new perspective, commanders will be much closer to what is happening on the battlefield! nine0007
By the way, this type of camera will allow you to study the terrain, the placement of equipment on the battlefield and many other features of the battle.
Tank formation
By pressing the left analog stick (on the controller) or the F button (when operating the keyboard and mouse), the commander can change the formation of his tanks.
