Mormo’s Curse is a good expansion. The spirit of The Swords of Ditto is still intact, but new modes, enemies and areas offer a satisfying challenge for both old and new players.

The Swords Of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse a very fun RPG that’s well thought out and excellently put together. For RPG and Zelda fans, this is a must-have for a modern take on a retro theme.

The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse may have some room for improvement but provides a lot of a joy and endless hours of gameplay. It’s fun and darn right adorable and that’s enough for me!

The Swords of Ditto Mormo’s Curse on Switch is decent but doesn’t quite stick the landing. It’s good in short bursts and may tide you over until Link’s Awakening, but it certainly won’t replace it

Aside from a mild fatigue from repetition near the end, occasional long load times between zones and the frustratingly designed Nemesis curse, everything about The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse comes together in one strongly designed package.

My time with The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse was undeniably an enjoyable one. I was initially attracted to the art style alone, but I found the game as a whole to be equally as appealing. Despite the formula occasionally feeling a bit repetitive, my roughly 25 hours of playtime left me feeling very satisfied. I can’t speak for the original base version of this game, but the updated version feels like a well-polished product. It’s also worth noting that this game can either be played alone or with one additional co-op player. Sadly, I did not get a chance to test that functionality but I can easily see multiplayer adding an additional layer of entertainment. The Nintendo eShop listing for Swords of Ditto is priced at $14.99 and I think that is a very fair price for what you’re receiving. If you enjoy games with lots of bright, vibrant colors, cartoon art styles, puzzle-oriented dungeons, and a wide variety of customization options, this one is definitely worth your time.

The Swords of Ditto – Destructoid
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: A young adventurer washes up on the shore of some mysterious land—perhaps an island under the curse of a wicked magician—and winds up battling evil to save the day. Sound familiar? It should. And if that’s the case, then don’t expect to be surprised by first few minutes of The Swords of Ditto. But keep playing, because what at first seems like a trite take on a well-worn concept reveals itself to be a charming-as-hell game with a voice and style all its own.
The Swords of Ditto is an easily-digestible action game distilled through the lens of youthful adventure. It’s warm and funny, with adorable characters and an imaginative world that feels like the playable version of a Saturday morning cartoon; this is a game that will make you smile plenty of times.
The Swords of Ditto (PC [reviewed], PS4)
Publisher: Devolver Digital
Released: April 24, 2018
While Ditto‘s opening notes aren’t exactly groundbreaking, it’s quick to introduce a rather novel spin on things. Mormo, a wicked witch with powerful magic, holds a once-idyllic nation in a stranglehold and only the fabled Sword of Ditto can put an end to her reign. Throughout the game, you’ll play as descendants of the first Sword, carrying up your predecessor’s mantle in an attempt to succeed where they failed. You’re never really the One True Hero in The Swords of Ditto, the sword you wield is, and that setup allows the game to play with convention across multiple playthroughs.
One of Ditto‘s biggest draws is the game’s generation-spanning story. Mormo’s powerful, and it’s difficult to put her down for long. Every 100 years — should players vanquish her or meet an early grave — the magician returns and a new Sword must take up arms. The outcome of previous attempts to stop Mormo ripple outward, affecting subsequent adventures in a handful of ways. Locations like the central town, for example, will be in better shape on a second playthrough if the last Sword managed to defeat Mormo. Or conversely, villagers might be rude to the new Sword if the last few champions screwed up and doomed the world to a few hundred more years of darkness.
And with that evolving framework, The Swords of Ditto‘s randomized gameplay makes sense. While it’s not uncommon for smaller-scale projects to use procedural generation to keep players invested, the hundred-year gap between Swords allows the game’s ever-changing landscape to function as an agent of myth. Heroes fail, but life goes on. And over the course of a century, the world looks different. The Swords of Ditto employs rogue-lite design brilliantly; your objective is always the same, but the people, places, and equipment you encounter change just enough every single time.
Every Sword’s ultimate goal is stopping Mormo. It’s typical Hero Work, but Ditto’s youthful vibe and hand-drawn art speak to an adventure carried on the lighthearted airs of whimsy. An ethereal dung beetle guides the Sword, directing them towards dungeons that house anchors which, if broken, weaken Mormo’s grasp. Villagers speak in quirky tones, ushering the Sword on sidequests and offering cutesy advice. Even players’ stats are improved in a silly manner — by slapping stickers on your gear that unlock abilities and increase passive bonuses. If nothing else, The Swords of Ditto completely commits to its aesthetic, creating a world that’s as adorable as it is enjoyable to explore.
Playing through The Swords of Ditto is an exercise in expressive gameplay. Players only have a few days to stop Mormo, either four or seven, depending on the selected in-game difficulty, and you’re mostly free to use the time as you see fit. You can try and topple Mormo immediately after taking up the Sword, but it’ll only make the things more challenging. Conquering Toy Dungeons not only weakens the magician’s powers but also rewards adventurers with useful new equipment. Each tool — or Toy — is valuable and imaginative, like a mighty golf club to knock enemies away or a disembodied monster foot that stomps on unsuspecting foes.
The Toys supplement adventuring staples like bombs and a torch, ensuring that Swords are prepared to topple whatever challenges they face. And it’s a good thing too, because every dungeon on the map has random modifiers that can add to the game’s difficulty dynamically. The combination of varied stickers and unique toys makes wandering across the world a delightful prospect; experimenting with different combat strategies and scouring environments for secrets remains entertaining from minute one to hour five (or later).
In addition to providing a single-player romp, The Swords of Ditto also offers local cooperative gameplay that allows multiple Swords to team up and challenge Mormo.
The Swords of Ditto is charming, humorous, and fun to play. It’s not the biggest game, but its generation-crossing story makes you feel like you’re a part of its world’s history. Even though it relies heavily on randomized components, the cartoon-like presentation and baked-in charm make every single screen seem as though it’s part of a cohesive, authored map. The Swords of Ditto might not be the most epic adventure of all time, but there’s little denying that it’s one of the cutest.

Sword fighting games on PC: ⚔ list of the best
How many sword fighting games do you know? Machine guns and pistols are cool, no question. But after hundreds of years, only one weapon went out of use almost unchanged: swords. If you enjoy slashing enemies left and right, or just want to show off how good you are with your blade, then here are the best sword fighting games.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a single player game set in the medieval Kingdom of Bohemia. The project is historically accurate, which takes the gameplay to a new level, encouraging players to explore a fully interactive open world.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance was the best in recreating the era of that time, largely due to the fact that historians were involved in the work on the game.
In addition to the fact that the AI reacts and generates the actions of NPCs during combat, other social interactions affect the player’s status and even the outcome of the storyline. This also applies to conversations. What can I say, even horse AI can affect the outcome of the battle! The quests themselves are non-linear, with no preconceived clear path to solve them, so the player is free to explore the world and complete the tasks as he pleases. There are ultra-realistic physics in the battles themselves, so the AI automatically calculates the strength of each blow, which seriously affects the gameplay, making it truly unique.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is another long-awaited open world RPG that was immediately warmly received by critics. With a huge world that is 30 times bigger than The Witcher 2, you can expect over 100 hours of captivating gameplay. And that’s just for the main storyline.
Wild Hunt tells the story of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter (Witcher) who travels across the lands of the Northern Kingdom. Following the events of the previous two games in the series, the new installment is all about Geralt’s incredible adventures as he deals with a changing society. All this in an incredibly beautiful and detailed world, thanks to which the gameplay becomes even more exciting.
Wild Hunt has become an incredibly successful project, selling over 6 million copies in just 6 weeks. Thanks to the improved NPC AI and the influence of the player’s actions on the main story, the world will change depending on the decisions made during the passage. Like in Skyrim, the combat system is a mixture of swordsmanship and magical abilities.
Ryse: Son of Rome
Ryse: Son of Rome is a typical representative of the hack and slash genre with a third-person view. Although the game was originally an Xbox exclusive, it was ported to PC in 2014. The project is considered underestimated, and it does have a few features that make it definitely worthy of attention, especially when it comes to combat.
In Ryse: Son of Rome, you play as Maria Titus, a Roman centurion who seeks promotion to command a legion. After the brutal massacre of his family by the Celtic barbarians, his main goal is revenge. But everything is not as simple as it might seem at first, and there are many surprises ahead of you.
The combat system puts a lot of emphasis on mobility, so gameplay is focused on allowing players to use rolls, punches, dashes, and blocks. Weapons and shields can be picked up from the bodies of dead enemies, so you will not feel a shortage in it. In addition, the game does not limit you in choosing the right equipment.
Dark Souls 3
In Dark Souls III, you control a «dead» warrior (undead) who will have to fight in close combat with ordinary enemies and bosses, use all your skills and abilities to figure out why the world was struck again curse of the undead. With multiple storylines and endings, Dark Souls III is sure to keep you busy for many long evenings before you can move on to the next game on our list!
All bosses are designed in such a way that in order to kill them, you need to time your next hit or roll as accurately as possible if you do not want to fall from deadly blows. Parry and Dodge are a must-have, considering how much damage enemies can inflict on the player. The game broke all records and became Bandai’s most successful game, selling over three million copies within two months of release.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
We’re sure many of you have been waiting for Skyrim to appear on this list, if ever. So far, this is the last game in the Elder Scrolls series, and upon release, it showed off incredibly beautiful landscapes and improved AI that went to a new level, thanks in large part to the interaction of NPCs.
You control Dovahkiin, whose task is to prevent the end of the world, declared by the dragon Alduin, the Eater of the World. Use magic and melee weapons, take dragons to your side to win colossal battles. Create the name of the last Dragonborn and save the province of Skyrim!
Character creation plays a huge role. As you progress and level up, you will earn points that you can spend to improve your skills. The appearance of the character and the chosen race will also affect the attitude of NPCs towards you. Just like the old games in the series, Skyrim has support for custom mods and convenient tools for creating them. As for the graphic component, it corresponds to the time and still looks great.
Life is Feudal: Your Own
Life Is Feudal: Your Own is a multiplayer life simulation game set in a medieval setting. With crafting, sophisticated physics, a virtual society and challenging combat, the game takes realism to the next level.
The main action of Life Is Feudal: Your Own takes place in an open world with a total area of 3×3 km. At the same time, 64 players can be on the server, who are free to create their own world, with their own rules. The game implements random crafting, so all recipes are unique, and you can find out its purpose only experimentally.
You can team up with other players or fight alone. The combat system is completely based on physics, so it is truly unique. There is no target acquisition (non-target) in the game, and the direction of attacks depends on the movement of the computer mouse.
The game is also known for its terraforming and free building. Players can build their own virtual bases anywhere on the map, which can then be upgraded to castles and cities. In addition to everything, a large selection of custom classes and skills allows you to develop almost endlessly.
Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends
The release in the Dynasty Warriors series takes us back to the very beginnings of classic hack and slash sword fighting games. There is the most important feature for the genre here: the use of combo attacks that allow you to inflict more damage on the enemy.
The pseudo-historical plot of the series is built around the famous Chinese novel «Three Kingdoms». The game itself has over 82 free characters to choose from. The main goal is to take over feudal China as a legendary hero. To do this, in incredible battles «one against a thousand» you can fight the way you decide.
In addition to the main story campaign, Dynasty Warriors has additional modes. In «Ambition Mode» players can build and upgrade their own base, while in «Challenging Mode» they can complete various missions, killing crowds of enemies for a while or dropping them off the platform. To fully enjoy Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends, it is recommended to play with a gamepad.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor successfully combines only the best features of the genre. This is not just your average hack and slash project. The game is distinguished by the use of innovative artificial intelligence, for which it is praised by gamers.
Although the story is not canon in relation to the works of Tolkien, the plot of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is closely related to the events of the books The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The plot tells about Talion, the commander of the garrison in Morannon (Black Gate of Mordor), whose family was killed by minions of the dark lord Sauron. Based on the main quest, the purpose of which is to avenge the death of loved ones, the story reaches its climax in fantastic battles.
The game is best known for its innovative «Nemesis» AI system, which remembers the player’s actions towards NPCs and generates further story events. Depending on how exactly the player defeated the enemy leader, he may return with a vengeance (or vice versa), or even take his side. In Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, everyone has their own motives.
Way of the Samurai 4
An action-adventure RPG from a Japanese studio. As befits such games about the land of the rising sun, the gamer, in addition to fighting, will optionally do many other “peaceful” things in the open world (play board games, interact with NPCs, fish, rob people, sleep, and so on).
In addition to the varied gameplay, Way of the Samurai 4 features a non-linear storyline that will lead you to one of 10 endings. The combat system includes close combat with swords, but has its own nuances. For example, a gamer might pick up items in combat, trip over a corpse, or interrupt dialogue and draw a weapon.
Nier: Automata is a hardcore action game with RPG elements in an open world. The plot takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth, and the player will have to control androids from YoRHa units, which are charming girls. True, their appearance is deceiving — they easily wield heavy swords and are masters of close combat.
In the process of passing the gamer will open locations and fight with various enemies. Each opponent, as in Dark Souls, can easily knock out a girl, but we are generally silent about bosses.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
An offshoot of the Metal Gear series, dedicated to the history of the cyberninja for hire Raiden. According to the story, he will have to perform various tasks related to the protection of the rulers of states. But he only dreams of a quiet job — the enemies constantly attack his clients, forcing Raiden to fight.
If you’re looking for a spectacular sword fighting game, then Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will pleasantly surprise you. The gameplay is focused on close combat, and you can control the direction of blows and literally chop everything around, including the limbs of opponents and giant iron structures. The sword in your hands is an extremely formidable weapon, and you will quickly realize this. An excellent game, balancing between hardcore and arcade battles, which does not let go until the very end.
Shadow Warrior Series
A fantasy first-person shooter series. Despite the genre, here we are given a samurai sword in our hands, although you can also take firearms (in one or two hands). According to the plot, a certain former mercenary gets in the way of the corporation in which he worked earlier. Those want to open a portal to another world and release monsters, and the main character swears to stop them.
Get ready for non-stop action in a modern world filled with terrifying demons and equally terrifying bosses. Each opponent here requires a special approach, and even an ordinary «pawn» is a serious danger.
The first part is a remake of the 1997 game, and the second part is a full-fledged sequel; a triquel is also in development.
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic
An old game from Arkane Studios. In the role of the adventurer Saref, the player will go in search of the Skull of Shadows artifact. He has a powerful force and, of course, he falls into the wrong hands.
Combining all the benefits in Dark Messiah of Might & Magic in a short description is simply impossible. This is a unique role-playing game with an excellent combat system, including intense sword fights and magic, thoughtful interactivity with the environment and a non-linear storyline. The author of the article went through it several times, and constantly discovered something new: secret levels, plot forks, and so on. If you are looking for an undemanding but great sword fighting game then play Dark Messiah of Might & Magic!
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
In fact, all Assassin’s Creed games have sword fights – sometimes more, sometimes less elaborate, from one-button combat to a complex system of strikes and counterattacks.
We’ve chosen Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as the latest addition to the lineup, but we’re not going to limit ourselves to it. However, if you go on the adventures of the Viking Eivor, you can enjoy fierce battles in the setting of 9th century England. Valhalla does not have the most detailed combat system, but it still gives you the opportunity to enjoy the possession of a sword, ax or hammer.
STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order
In the hands of the protagonist of the action STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order is not a metal, but a lightsaber, but this does not change the essence of the gameplay. Players will have to travel around the planets and fight against a variety of opponents from a third-person perspective.
Swordsmanship is well implemented in the game, and melee combat is complemented by Force capabilities, which allow you to act at a distance. The plot will throw you into the events between the third and fourth episodes of the Star Wars movie saga: as a Padawan who escaped death after Order 66, you will fight for survival in a changed galaxy.
STAR WARS Jedi Knight — Jedi Academy
Jedi Academy is another Star Wars game, but this time it takes place after the sixth episode of the movie series, and you have to take lessons from Luke Skywalker himself.
However, this does not mean that your hero is destined for the path of Light: you are free to choose the side of the Force yourself, and depending on your decision, certain abilities will be available to the character. In terms of gameplay, we have an action game with well-designed sword fights and the use of abilities, and even despite the modest graphics, the game will not leave fans of the cult universe indifferent.
Ghostrunner is a fast-paced action game with parkour and sword fighting. Well, to be more precise, only your character is armed with a sword, and enemies do not hesitate to use firearms, shields and other gadgets.
Thanks to the speed and fury of the protagonist, you will be able to effectively counter your opponents. The battles in the game are a genuine pleasure, and not only them — running along the walls and jumping through the bottomless abysses is no less pleasant.
A dark fantasy slasher with a heavy metal soundtrack in which you become a brave warrior who deals with hordes of monsters that attacked the world.
The game combines a first-person perspective, Dark Souls-inspired hardcore battles, an extensive character development system, a detailed world, and a variety of opponents with different fighting styles. The impression is somewhat lubricated by poor optimization, but otherwise this action has no flaws.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a multiplayer game set in a fictional medieval world. Players can fully customize their character, choosing equipment, emblem, weapon and class, which will determine the role in the team and skills.
There are two main factions in the game: the Knights of Agatha and the Order of Mason, who fight for every piece of land. At the beginning of each battle, you can choose not only a team, but also a class: a useful ranged shooter, an agile infantryman, a pliable vanguard, and an impregnable knight. Both the faction and the class can be changed right during the battle, but only if there are available places.
One of the features of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is its incredibly brutal gameplay. The blood splatter is so exaggerated that it takes on a comedic tone. Other than that, the gameplay remains intuitive and friendly, which earned it the top spot on our list. Most attacks and combos can only be done with the mouse, without using the keyboard. Despite starting as a mod for Half-Life 2 from an independent development studio, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare managed to sell over 2 million copies within two years of its release.
For Honor is a tactical multiplayer hack and slash game. The player can join one of the three factions. Each has its own unique classes and abilities, and consecutive kills allow players to unlock and learn additional skills. The battles themselves take place in team mode, between two different factions.
One of the main features of the game is the new «Art of Battle» artificial intelligence system. It allows you to anticipate enemy moves and strikes by observing the slightest change in the opponent’s behavior, allowing you to use preemptive attacks or block at the right time, depending on which style of play you prefer.
Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II
Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II was originally intended as a mod for Half-Life 2, but eventually became a full game. As the name implies, it has three independent factions: pirates, vikings and knights. Each strives to defeat the other two and achieve its own goal, whether it be the search for treasure, the expansion of territorial dominance, or the delight of the gods.
Due to the fact that instead of the usual two teams in the game there are already three of them, Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II is distinguished by really dynamic battles. In addition to the faction itself, players have 9unique classes, each with their own weapons and abilities, several types of cards and fighting styles. Although the battles themselves are greatly simplified, some unusual weapons can change the outcome of the battle at the last moment.
Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II has become one of the most successful mods for Half-Life 2 with a huge fan base who continue to support the servers and are actively working on the development of the project, adding new content and improving existing ones.
Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord
Bannerlord is a prequel to the first part of the Mount and Blade series, action role-playing, medieval simulation. The main action takes place in a fictional world, around 600-1100 AD. There are six main factions available in the game, each with their own weapons and strategies. By joining one of them, the player gets the opportunity to use a unique feature available only to members of the selected faction.
In addition to the single-player campaign, multiplayer is available in the game, as well as a completely new, more sophisticated AI — everything that is available to the player can also be used by non-player characters. This means that now players will have to be more careful, because the enemies will be able to remember their actions and change their strategy in future battles. And of course, we should not forget about military movements, they will be of paramount importance.
Gloria Victis is an MMORPG from an independent indie developer that is still in Early Access. The main action of the game takes place in a medieval European setting with elements of fantasy and mythology.
At the very beginning, you can choose a nationality and adjust other parameters of your character, after which you can go to fight other players in fast-paced PvP battles. Due to the combat system without automatic target acquisition (non-target), the outcome of the battle directly depends on the chosen tactics.
The game offers great opportunities for combat — maybe you want to feel like a gladiator fighting in the arena? Or a knight on the battlefield? Or maybe you do not care about reputation and want to become an ordinary bandit or robber looking for easy targets?
Gloria Victis has other options besides combat. For example, construction and a developed system of the economy. Players can choose to craft, choose a specialization based on their profession, or become an itinerant merchant using their survival skills. In addition, you can team up with other players and build bases together or erect entire cities.
Warhammer: End Times — Vermintide
Despite being considered a first-person shooter, Vermintide has great close combat capabilities. Some characters are much more useful with a sword or an ax than with a melee weapon. In addition, there are always enough enemies that could be destroyed left and right.
This is a Warhammer FB multiplayer game with a rather banal plot: along with a couple of friends, your character is stuck in the city of Übersreik. He is surrounded by an army of Skaven (anthropomorphic rodents), who block all entrances and exits, not giving the slightest chance for the arrival of help.
Having built a kind of base, together with your friends you will fight off hordes of «rats» right on the streets of Übersreik. Periodically, you will have to make sorties outside the city walls in order to get food or other items.
The game is very similar to Left 4 Dead, but includes innovative multiplayer elements such as different types and levels of equipment. The loot generation mechanism was positively received by the players, as a wide range of possible types of weapons and several levels of their rarity make the gameplay more interesting. Many add-ons have been released for Vermintide that add new cards or cosmetic items to the characters.
Mordhau is a multiplayer action game from an indie developer in which the outcome of the battle depends entirely on the player. Even at the alpha testing stage, it became clear that this is a promising project that has already managed to acquire a crowd of fans.
As the name implies, Mordhau sends you straight into the abyss of medieval sword bloodshed. In one-on-one death duels or larger scale fights, the outcome of the battle depends entirely on the skills of the duelist.
Mordhau is unique in that it is one of the melee games where the player is in complete control of all aspects of the gameplay. Each step and swing of the sword allows you to fully think through the movement ahead. Not to mention the wide possibilities for customizing weapons and equipment.
Clone Drone in the Danger Zone
A pixel action game about gladiator robots who have to fight in the arena for survival.
You will see funny robots with laser swords, but the charm will quickly fade when it’s time for a duel. In epic battles, you can cut off limbs and cut your opponents, but even without an arm or leg, the fighter will continue to fight!
There are several single player modes (endless, story, Twitch mode, challenges), as well as co-op and multiplayer. Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is not very popular, but it takes its rightful place in our selection!
Sequel to the popular Chivalry: Medieval Warfare — now with a big budget, mass battles and a huge number of interacting mechanics. When 64 players converge on the battlefield, and the ground is covered with red paint, there is no time for jokes.
Chivalry 2 does not lead players by the hand, offering to learn the art of sword fighting on their own. The combat system is based on several types of attack, but many factors are taken into account — from body position to initiative. Easy to learn, but not easy to master.
Hellish Quart is a unique game: it was created by just one person and focuses on fights with melee weapons — swords, sabers, rapiers. The list of fighters includes musketeers, Cossacks, hussars, raters, Janissaries and other representatives of the historical estates of the 17th century.
The combat system of the project is built on the physics of «rag dolls», and the characters can attack from four corners, combine blows into combos, and try out various tactics. Blades strike sparks, and the faster, more cunning and more technical player wins. Despite its Early Access status, Hellish Quart already has a lot of content already, and its Steam rating is at a high 94%.
This is a side-scrolling action game featuring spectacular medieval knight battles. Using swords, maces and other weapons, you will arrange spectacular cuts, accompanied by liters of blood and beautiful visual effects.
Griefhelm can be played in local and online multiplayer and is an addictive game for a fun party. And don’t worry that you won’t be able to distinguish your fighter from your opponents — thanks to detailed customization, you can fine-tune your character in detail.
The SOULCALIBUR series is one of the few fighting game franchises where characters prefer to resolve conflicts with weapons rather than fists. Each fighter is armed with a blade, and the combat system in the games of the line is based on this — players combine strikes, blocks and counterattacks, and combos increase the damage dealt.
SOULCALIBUR VI offers to fight in three-dimensional arenas using the abilities of the characters. Among them are gods and heroes, and the witcher Geralt from The Witcher series and android 2B from NieR: Automata looked into the game as invited guests.
60 player battle royale with parkour, magic and vertical gameplay. There are many types of weapons available in the game, including, of course, swords, but the combat system can hardly be called serious — the good old enemy calls are implemented here.
However, in the context of this compilation, the game deserves attention: the battles are spectacular, the maps are rich in interesting areas, and the graphics are commendable.
Blade and Sorcery
Action for virtual reality glasses that simulates fantasy medieval battles. The player is invited to pick up edged weapons, use a bow and arrow, and master magic spells. Which style to choose is up to the gamer to decide.
The player will have to fight against several enemies at the same time, but it will not work to cut them all right and left. It’s all about the realistic physics of objects and opponents, so that everything in the game has its own «weight». Weapons can penetrate soft tissue and get stuck in bodies, and even reflect magic.
If you have VR goggles, be sure to play Blade and Sorcery, you won’t regret it!
In the popular VR game Beat Saber, you pick up virtual swords and start destroying blocks flying in your direction, focusing on the signs that indicate the direction of impact.
This is a great rhythm game that can make you move a lot. And thanks to mods and DLC, you will get access to a lot of music tracks, arenas and swords.
A VR horror game in which you’ll fight your opponents in dark fantasy arenas. Fire skeletons, zombies and demons will become your opponents, and you will use swords, axes and other melee weapons as weapons.
The game boasts realistic physics, the presence of a story campaign, as well as beautiful graphics. A great first-person action game for owners of VR helmets.
The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Skyrim
Release date: 2007
Genre: First-person and third-person RPG, open-world story based counter-hero game
who worships the Daedric Prince of Destruction, Mehrunes Dagon, and plans to open a portal to a world called Oblivion in order to conquer the empire. As with its predecessors, the game world of Oblivion is completely open to exploration and the player is allowed to travel to any desired location, ignoring the main storyline. In designing the landscape and architecture, the developers worked with personal travel photos, nature books, and other image sources. The software used made it possible to create a realistic environment at a faster pace, each element of the landscape was created manually. The game is included in the top of the best RPGs.
Both first and third person views are supported in the game, but the developers focused on the first person view with more spectacular effects.
