The following cheats will effect an active sims traits.
You must have the sim selected in live mode that you would like to apply the cheat to.
Add Trait to Sim
traits.equip_trait <traitnameNoSpaces>
This will add the specified trait to the current active sim.
Remove Trait From Sim
traits.remove_trait <traitnameNoSpaces>
This will remove the specified trait from the current active sim.
Spawn Sim and Add to Household
sims.spawn
The sim that spawns will be added to your current household.
Spawn Sim as Stranger
sims.spawnSimple <amount>
The amount indicates how many sims to spawn. Large amounts will crash your game.
Set Sim Age to Adult

Make Sim behave as a Maid

Gameplay
The Sims 4, like the previous parts of the series, simulates life.
The player creates a Sim character and explores different personalities that influence the course of the game. Sims can be given multiple tasks at the same time, such as talking and completing a task. The mood of the Sims, be it anger or joy, affects the gameplay.
Along with neighbors and landscaping, the game contains a lot of fittings and a detailed sales/purchase system. Also, The Sims 4 has a lot of social features, including importing Sims or houses made by other people.
Similar to the previous parts, the game is replete with «challenges» (challenges) created by users. One of the most common challenges is Legacy: taking one Sim, you need to make a family and give birth to 10 generations of Sims.
New in Sims 4 — emotes, new sim editor, new house editor, online giveaway.
The emotions that Sims can now display can significantly affect social situations. The game has such emotions as «confidence», «inspiration», «hysteria», «focus», «boredom», «everything is fine», «depression», «sadness», «rage», «angry», «sensitivity ”, “flirting” and “passion”.
Emotions can be influenced by external factors such as music, scenery, and voodoo dolls.
In the new Sim Editor, the gauges and counters typical of game editors have been removed and replaced with an editor that allows you to directly change the look of your Sims.
The new, more versatile house editor introduces a number of new mechanics. One of them is the ability to change the location of entire rooms by simply dragging them with the mouse.
Development
The Sims 4 is single player, no internet connection required to play. However, players need an account on the Origin platform and the Internet to install and activate the game.
The game’s soundtrack was recorded at Abbey Road Studios with the London Metropolitan Orchestra. The music for The Sims 4 was composed by Alan Ashkeri.
On April 25, 2013, several screenshots of the game’s user interface leaked online. On May 3, 2013, Electronic Arts sent out a message to several fansites about a big announcement coming May 6, and many thought it was about The Sims 4.
On August 20, 2013, a trailer for the game was released at Gamescom.
The first gameplay details were revealed at Gamescom 2013. The developers talked about improved creation of sims, a new «click and drag» feature that eliminates the use of sliders, and the introduction of emotions as a gameplay element. Selected players (mainly fan site and YouTube channel managers) were invited to the Sims Camp to see the game before the press and the public. As a result, there was little coverage of the game outside of fan sites.
On May 14, 2014, producer Ryan Vaughn posted a trailer for creating Sims on the official The Sims YouTube channel. On May 28, 2014, the developers showed a trailer with new features of the Build Mode: a choice of three possible wall heights, setting the location of the window on the wall, the ability to change the location of entire rooms.
New videos on the game were presented at the June E3 2014. It was also announced that the game will be released on September 2, 2014.
In January 2015, Maxis announced the first paid DLC, Outdoor Retreat. The package was dedicated to entertainment in the national park.
The Mac version, after some delays, was released on February 17, 2015.
Game Change Controversy
On June 25, 2014, EA and Maxis announced that the Sims 4 would not include certain features from previous games, including pools, swimwear, and the «baby» life stage. The announcement also spoke about the lack of an open world in the spirit of Sims 3: the neighbors in the gameplay were separated by loading screens. Earlier in an interview with a fan site, the producer revealed that the CASt style creation feature that was present in the previous installments will not be included in the game. The developers later revealed that the game would come with a «stripped down» version of story progression (a gameplay mechanic that controls the autonomy of neighborhoods) and would not feature basements, grocery stores, schools, and work offices; At the same time, careers and schools remained, but they work differently than in Sims 3 — rather, they resemble Sims 2 .
These posts caused a lot of commotion among many fans: they felt that the removal of important things was done in order to release them later as paid content, or in order to hit the release deadline. As of August 21, 2014, 22,000 petitions have been signed to include removed features in the release.
Maxis stated that it is not possible to include all the features created during 6 years of development in the new game Sims 3 , they can be added later. On October 1, 2014, Maxis confirmed that pools and other features would be added in a free patch, which was done in November.
More Information
SteelSeries and Electronic Arts have announced a series of Sims 4-themed peripherals, including headphones, a computer mouse that reacts to Sims’ emotions with a glow, and mouse pads with images of different groups of Sims.
On May 9, 2014, the game was rated 18+ in Russia. The rating is related to the presence of same-sex relationships in the game, the depiction of which is contrary to the Russian law on non-traditional sexual relations.
On July 8, 2014, the Australian Classification Board gave the game an «M» (Mature) rating due to «references to violence and sex».

- Awesome Animal Hats : An addon included in the Digital Deluxe Edition. Added a collection of animal hats.
- Up All Night : First included in the Digital Deluxe Edition. Added «Laser Light» show, face paints, new decorations and outfits for parties, two new types of parties, new cooking recipes.
- Holiday Celebration Pack : A free DLC released in December 2014. Added festive decorations and outfits.
- Get To Work : extension coming April 30, 2015.
