Shinys in pokemon go: What are Shiny Pokémon? — Pokémon GO Help Center

Pokémon Go: Complete list of Shiny Pokémon October 2022

Just like in the core Pokémon games, Pokémon Go has Shiny Pokémon. There are now so many Shiny variants available in Pokémon Go that it can be hard to keep track of which Pokémon you should be checking. Here’s the complete list of Shiny Pokémon as of right now, and how you can catch ’em all!

Simply put, Shiny Pokémon are color variants. There is only one Shiny color variant per Pokémon. Some variants are obvious like Shiny Gyarados is red instead of blue. Others are more subtle, like Shiny Bulbasaur or Squirtle, which are the same color but slightly different shades.

First introduced as part of the Water Festival Event, with Magikarp and Gyarados, new Shiny Pokémon are added to Pokémon Go with just about every event and Community Day. If a Shiny isn’t unlocked, it doesn’t matter how many of that Pokémon you catch, you’ll never find a Shiny Pokémon. On the other hand, once unlocked Shiny Pokémon are far more common in Pokémon Go than they are in the core games, especially during events. We’ve compiled this list to help you keep track of which Shinies are available, and be sure to check out our best Pokémon Go accessories; a Pokémon Go Plus or a Go-Tcha will make Shiny hunting go much quicker!

Note: One other important thing to consider when Shiny hunting, generally you cannot catch an evolved Shiny Pokémon. For example, if you tap on an Ivysaur on the map, it cannot be Shiny, even though Shiny Bulbasaur can be caught. There are rare events where this is not the case, and Mega Raids generally have the chance of being Shiny.

Limited case Shiny Pokémon

Although most Pokémon with the potential to be Shiny in Pokémon Go always have the chance of being Shiny, there are some exceptions. The following Pokémon have limits on when their Shiny variants can be encountered:

  • Mew: Shiny Mew can only be obtained by completing the Masterwork Research line All-in-One #151 as a reward for the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event and is limited to one per account.
  • Celebi: Shiny Celebi can only be obtained by completing the Special Research line Distracted by Something Shiny that was only available during the Secrets of the Jungle event.
  • Unown: Only select letters of Unown have the potential to be Shiny and only during select events.
  • Smeargle: Shiny Smeargle was only available during the New Pokémon Snap event, but should be available again during the Pokémon Go Tour: Johto event.
  • Meltan: Shiny Meltan can only be encountered during select events.
  • Melmetal: Shiny Melmetal can only be evolved and so is as limited as Shiny Meltan.

Pokemon Exchange

Last updated: 43d

Function
Swap allows you to trade Pokémon with friends, which helps you complete your Pokédex faster. Transactions take place in person and in real time, so you need to be close to your friend to exchange Pokémon.

Each exchange costs a small amount of Stardust. Different Pokémon require different amounts of Stardust to trade. As a general rule, the higher the rarity of a Pokémon (for example, if it’s a Legendary or Shiny Pokémon), the more Stardust will be required to trade it. To reduce the cost of the exchange, you can increase the level of friendship with the trainer with whom the exchange is carried out. nine0003

Note . For child accounts, this feature can be enabled by parents. For this you need to go to
Niantic Kids Parent Portal or
Pokémon Trainer Club.

1. Meeting a friend

Players must be in the same place in the real world to make a trade. When you are next to a friend, go to your friends list.

2. Go to exchange screen

  • In map mode, go to
    trainer profile .

  • Click on the tab
Friends at the top of the screen to open the friends list.

  • Click on the Trainer you want to trade Pokémon with.

  • Press the button
Exchange to go to the exchange screen.

3. Selecting a Pokémon to trade

Once a friend joins a session, you can select a Pokémon to trade. Before choosing a Pokemon, you can view detailed information about it. Please note that the BS, coolant and other characteristics of the Pokémon will change during the exchange. The new BS and HP of the Pokémon will be displayed as a range. nine0003

Press the button to continue
Next .

4. Trade Confirmation

Once you and your friend have both selected Pokemon to trade, a confirmation button will appear. Next to the button, the amount of stardust required for the exchange will be displayed. You will also see the number of sweets that you will receive for the exchange. The number of candies depends on the distance between the locations where the Pokémon were originally caught. The greater the distance, the more sweets are given for the exchange. nine0003

To complete the exchange, press the button
Confirm .

Special Trade and Restrictions

Some Pokémon can only be traded through a Special Trade. These Pokémon require more Stardust to trade, and only one Special Trade can be made per day. The following Pokémon require a special deal.

  • Pokémon not yet in your Pokédex.
  • Legendary Pokémon.
