Minecraft cheats (for players and server administrators)

All the most useful cheats on Minecraft: for players and server administrators. The most important commands and codes: for things and saving and others.

Minecraft is an incredibly popular game that brings together millions of players of all ages on its servers and has not lost its popularity for many years due to the great variability in gameplay. In fact, gamers are released into an open sandbox world, where they have to survive, extract resources and building materials, in order to then make useful things based on them and build their own home. There are so many tools in this constructor that it makes it possible to build the most intricate structures — some active fans are even ready to spend months building exact copies of real architectural sights like the Egyptian pyramids or the Roman Colosseum.

The standard conditions in the Minecraft game, of course, force players to face various restrictions and spend time collecting resources, but anyone can always make their life easier with the help of console cheats — use them yourself or create an online server with your own rules and conditions.

How to enter cheats in Minecraft

Unfortunately, the ability to use cheats is limited only to those worlds in which the player initially activated this function. To be able to prescribe commands from the list below, when creating a new game session, in the settings menu, find the item responsible for activating codes. It’s called «Activate cheats». When the world is created and loaded, just press the English T or the symbol “?” on your keyboard (the one next to the right Shift). This will open a console prompt.

All the most useful Minecraft cheats: for players and server administrators. The most important commands and codes: things and saving and others
Commands in Minecraft can be quite cumbersome and waste the player’s time writing them, so instead of manually entering values and parameters, you can use the Tab key. For example, they entered a couple of characters of the desired command and, by pressing Tab, went through the options containing this letter sequence. The game will automatically fill in the remaining letters, numbers, etc.

Many commands require an indication of the purpose of the cheat. If you do not write anything in that paragraph, most codes apply to the target closest to you. Sometimes it is also not necessary to specify a specific name — just substitute the desired variable instead. @a allows you to apply the cheat to all players, @p — to the nearest player, @r — to a random player, @e — to all enemies. This is much more convenient than if you were forced to drive in a confusing nickname of your server guest, consisting of 10+ characters.

Basic cheat codes for Minecraft

This category includes commands popular with players that can be useful in a wide variety of game situations during a single game or on a server where the use of the console is allowed.

  • /gamemode [number] – change game mode. You can choose from three values: 0 — survival, 1 — creative, 2 — adventure.
  • /time set, add [number] – manipulation of in-game time. Numbers in the range from 0 to 6000 are responsible for the morning time, 6000+ for the middle of the day, from 12000 it is already night and 18000+ midnight.
  • /xp [number] — allows your character to get hold of a set amount of experience, eliminating the need for long and tedious earning it yourself.
  • /kill — suicide of your hero, followed by a quick movement to the control point. It will come in handy, for example, if you are stuck somewhere and cannot get out or you have encountered a critical bug.
  • /give [identifier] [number] – code to receive things (blocks) in your inventory. In one of the sections below, the IDs of the most popular and useful components will be painted.
  • /toggledownfal — enable and disable (if you enter the same command again) snow and rain.
  • /tp [nickname 1] [nickname 2] – instantaneous teleportation of the first player to player #2.
  • /publish — the server you created becomes a public game, to which other users can now connect. Also, after entering the command, the screen displays information about the ports and computer name that you need to use when connecting.
  • /spawnpoint [nickname] [coordinates] — setting the spawn point for the character with the specified nickname. Coordinates are specified in three-dimensional space, by variables X Y Z (three numbers separated by a space). If you do not enter coordinates, your current location will be automatically registered.
  • /effect [nickname] [effect ID] [duration] [effect level] — allows you to give a character with the specified nickname a positive or negative effect with a set duration and power level.
  • /enchant [nickname] [effect ID] [level] — enchants an item in the hands of the specified character with an effect of a certain level.
  • /weather [parameter] – weather control. It is possible to choose one of three options: Clean — a clear sky, Thunder — a thunderstorm and Rain — just rainy weather.
  • /say [text] – command to send a public message to all users on the server.
  • /tell [nickname] [text] — similar to the previous command, but allows you to send a message privately, specifying a specific user (if you forgot the nickname, you can peep it with the list command) and the text of the message.
  • /home — fast movement of the player to the set respawn point.

Useful commands for server administrators

The cheats described below will help you set up your own Minecraft server, administer it, and block dishonest and toxic players. In addition to the standard commands from the list, you can install useful modifications that significantly expand the capabilities.

  • Op [nickname] — assigning a player with the specified alias the position of an administrator, which gives him all the privileges set for this group. A team similar in purpose, but working in reverse order — Deop.
  • Ban [nickname] — blocking a user by his nickname. He will no longer be able to play on your server using the specified character. The Pardon command, indicating the nickname of the banned person, allows you to remove restrictions.
  • Ban-IP [address] — by entering this command, you will block any attempts to enter the server from the specified email address. The “pardon-ip” code will help reverse the changes.
  • Banlist — allows you to see the list of banned players, their nicknames and addresses.
  • Kick [nickname] — disconnects the player with the selected nickname from the server. If he wants, he can reconnect at any time.
  • Whitelist Add [nickname] — the player with the specified alias is added to the whitelist of users. The “Remove” command allows you to remove it from there.
  • Whitelist [On/Off] – user whitelist management. The On option turns the feature on, the Off option turns it off.
  • Whitelist List — a list of trusted players.
  • Whitelist Reload – whitelist reload. All previously added users are deleted.
  • Save-all — saving all changes made by players on the map.
  • Save-off and Save-on — commands to disable and enable automatic saving of world changes on your server.
  • Stop – server shutdown.

Game rules management

This section describes codes that allow you to manipulate gameplay mechanics and conditions on your server. All of them are written as follows: /gamerule [code] [variable true or false]. True is responsible for enabling the feature, False for disabling it.

  • doDaylightCycle — allows or disables day and night.
  • doEntityDrops — Specify whether you want entities to drop items.
  • doFireTick — allows you to specify whether the fire will be transferred from one combustible block to another.
  • doMobLoot — enable or disable the drop of items from defeated monsters.
  • doMobSpawning — setting / disabling the ban on the appearance of opponents at night. Does not affect console commands that allow you to summon this or that enemy.
  • doTileDrops — when the command is enabled, players will not be able to mine new blocks, but only destroy old ones. It makes sense to use when creating maps for the passage.
  • keepInventory — when enabled, dead characters keep all loot in their inventory. If disabled, respectively, appear with an empty bag.
  • logAdminCommands – the entire history of administrator activity (commands entered by them) is stored in a separate text file.
  • mobGriefing — disable or allow monsters to attack and damage your buildings. If you are making a server with a focus on building, it is better to remove the enemies altogether.
  • naturalRegeneration – enable/disable automatic recovery of the character’s health over time.
  • randomTickSpeed – a parameter responsible for the rate of maturation of plants (wheat, watermelons, reeds, pumpkins, etc.). Unlike the other commands described above, instead of the True / False variable, you need to substitute a specific number, for example, the number 2.
  • showDeathMessages — allows you to display messages about the death of characters or hide them.
  • sendCommandFeedback — allows you to configure the display of warnings that a particular cheat command is enabled on the server.

Codes for a single player game and your own server

This section contains commands for finer tuning of the game session, allowing you to set bans or permissions at certain game moments.

  • allow-flight [variable] — using this cheat with the variable True allows you to make free flight possible for players. Only works in survival mode.
  • allow-nether [True/False] — enable or disable the nether world. If at the moment of disconnection any of the players on the server is there, he will automatically be transferred to the surface.
  • announce-player-achievements [True/False] — Controls on-screen messages notifying users when a player has received an achievement.
  • Difficulty [number] — setting the difficulty level in the range from 0 to 3 (from the easiest to the hardest). You can only enter whole numbers.
  • enable-rcon – enable/disable remote access to the console on the server.
  • generate-structures – generation of various structures on the world map: treasuries, villages, fortresses and other objects.
  • Hardcore — enable hardcore mode. The first death of the character will be the last for the player on the server (there will be no way to reconnect).
  • max-players [numeric identifier] — makes it possible to replace the limit with the maximum number of participants. The default value is 20.
  • Motd [text] – setting the description of your session in the list with servers. Limited to sixty characters.
  • player-idle-timeout [value] — allows you to specify the time after which an idle gamer will be kicked from the server. Specified as an integer equivalent to minutes of time. If set to 0, people who are AFK will not be excluded.
  • pvp [True/False] — enable or disable the ability of some players to attack other players, kill them and destroy buildings.
  • spawn-protection [numerical value] – sets the radius of the territory around the spawn point (measured in blocks), within which the zone is safe for players. The value varies from 1 to 100 blocks.
  • Debug [Start/Stop] – start or disable debug mode with advanced features for the server administrator.
  • /tellraw [nickname or @a] [text] – messages for all users of the server or a specific user that can be formatted using HTML tags (colors, boldness, underlining, and other formatting).

Additional cheat codes for Minecraft

Below are the commands that most of the players are not in special demand or are used only occasionally, but in some situations can be very useful.

  • Ascend — moves the character to the nearest platform in front of the line of sight.
  • Chest — unlocks chests.
  • Clone [selected object] — Clones the NPC your character is currently looking at.
  • Confuse [distance] — disorients mobs at the specified distance, the parameter is set as an integer.
  • Duplicate [selected object] — creates a copy of the selected item, which will fall to the ground in front of the character.
  • Falldamage, Firedamage [On/Off] — two similar commands. The first allows you to enable and disable fall damage from a great height, the second allows you to control burn damage.
  • Freeze — All hostile creatures freeze, preventing them from moving or attacking players.
  • Instantkill — all monsters you want to hit will die from the first hit. Also works on quite friendly animals and NPCs, so be careful.
  • Jump — teleport to the point where your cursor is currently pointing. A rather unreliable command, as it can lead to a bug with a character stuck in the block texture.
  • Mobdamage — enemies still have the ability to attack you, but their actions do not cause any damage to the player’s health.
  • Platform — a transparent glass platform appears under the character’s feet, on which you can stand.
  • Setspeed [value] – select the speed of your character’s movement. Whole numbers only. You can return the standard value by writing the Reset command instead of the variable.

Identifiers for in-game items

If you want to add a specific item, resource or weapon to your inventory, you will need to know its correct name. It is used in the console command as follows: /give [player name] [item id] [number of copies]. For example, if you want to give a player Boris 20 diamonds, it would look like this (/give Boris minecraft:diamond 20). Most Popular IDs:

  • minecraft:diamond_pickaxe is a diamond pickaxe, the most reliable and efficient tool for building and mining.
  • minecraft:diamond_shovel — diamond shovel.
  • minecraft:diamond_axe — diamond hatchet.
  • minecraft:diamond_hoe — diamond hoe.
  • minecraft:golden_apple – golden apples will appear in the inventory in the set amount.
  • minecraft:map, minecraft:compass — adding useful items for travelers, a map and a compass.
  • diamond_sword, diamond_helmet, diamond_chestplate, diamond_leggings, diamond_boots — a complete set of diamond armor for a warrior and a diamond sword. The commands will have to be written separately.
  • minecraft:diamond_horse_armor — diamond armor for your horse.
  • minecraft:tnt — adding sticks of dynamite to the inventory.
  • lava_bucket — lava bucket in your inventory.
  • minecraft:mob_spawner — a cell in which monsters can spawn.
  • minecraft:spawn_egg: — monster spawner egg. Used in conjunction with a numerical variable indicating the type of creature being summoned.

You can also get chests (minecraft:chest), bed — bed, clock — clock and many other items in this way. Unlike many games, where objects in the system are usually encrypted under chaotic sequences of letters and numbers, in Minecraft everything is much simpler. You just look for the name in English and substitute minecraft:[name] into the bundle. In 99% of cases it will work.

Plugins and add-ons for the game Minecraft

If the console commands described above for getting the necessary items, setting the parameters of your game session or managing the server turned out to be not enough for you, special plugins and extensions installed in the game client can help. They will allow you to access a lot of features and improvements, here are just a few examples:

  • EssentialsSpawn is a great extension for sorting your server users. Separate groups can be assigned separate spawn/spawn points to evenly populate the entire map and make the gameplay more interesting.
  • EssentialsChat is a more advanced in-game chat with grouping, color highlighting and lots of other settings. The thing is simply irreplaceable if several dozens of users play simultaneously on your server.
  • NoCheatPlus — despite the relatively small share of the competitive moment in the gameplay, there are more than enough cheaters in Minecraft. Various hacks are used for remote attack, fast movement and shooting, replenishment of health. This plugin is able to attract the vast majority of such attempts.
  • DynPad — Allows players to bounce on pressure plates of various materials much higher than the standard value for a normal jump. They do not receive ground impact damage from this trick.
  • KillerMoney — opens the possibility of earning money by killing animals and monsters. Money will automatically appear in inventory. The plugin is suitable for creating RPG adventure story maps.
  • MultiverseCore — allows you to create a single environment for players with different versions of the Minecraft client, automatically spreading them across different “subservers” corresponding to their client.

By installing a dozen or two of these extensions, you can create a truly unique game world with its own conditions and features. But do not forget about two things — many plugins that have a common focus can conflict with each other, plus almost every one of them has its own list of console commands for setting up functionality.

Minecraft all cheats and cheat mods

The best console commands and cheat modifications for the cubic sandbox. We have collected codes for both single player and multiplayer modes.

Almost everyone who plays Minecraft sooner or later starts using cheat codes. In single player mode, they are completely legal , and the console is built into the game by the developers themselves. In multiplayer mode, you can get banned for using hacking programs.

Minecraft cheats — this is what helps to diversify, improve the gameplay, make it more enjoyable. With them, it is much more convenient to build crazy buildings or create your own impressive maps. In addition, with their help, beginners will be able to explore the world of the game without any obstacles.

How to cheat in Minecraft (single mode)

To cheat in Minecraft you just need to press the English «T» on your keyboard. The console will open automatically.

    • When a player starts to enter a command, the game itself offers options for completing it, you can simply select from the list with the 9 key0241 Tab .
    • Pressing the Enter key completes the command.
    • To find out the current coordinates or the name of any block, just press F3.

To use cheats, you need to have administrator rights. For example, when playing on a personal computer in single player mode, the minecrafter has such rights by default. But when playing on a server, only the administrator (host) has such rights, and not the players.

When creating a game world, you need to set the option to enable cheats to the “On” position.

These console commands work the same on all versions of the game. If you need cheats for Minecraft 1.12.2 or cheats for Minecraft 1.8 — you won’t need to look for new codes, they are all described in our guide and are suitable for any release.

A complete list of cheats for Minecraft

There is a little confusion with cheat codes in Minecraft, because cheats are called both console commands and additional options that appear after installing special mods in the game. Modifications are needed only for playing on the server, and in single-player mode, you can use the usual codes.

    Cheats for singleplayer Minecraft

games. These are fully working programs that are difficult to fire. With their help, you can completely transform your game.

There are also quite a few single player cheat mods that give special benefits to the player. Their functions are different from those that can be activated using the regular console, so it is beneficial to use them.

    X-Ray

X-Ray is probably one of the most famous mods for Minecraft. This add-on leaves visible only those blocks that the player has specified in the settings. All other blocks become transparent.

This mod is indispensable for finding resources. For example, diamonds are much easier to mine when the player sees only the blocks needed, and he can simply move in the direction of valuable mining.

Without a mod, the process of extracting valuable resources turns into digging a huge number of long tunnels at random. X-Ray will seriously simplify this monotonous process, and you can do more interesting gameplay.

This is one of the best cheat mods for Minecraft 1.16. Since many modders decided not to update their creations to this version, finding an addon that doesn’t lag or crash is a real stroke of luck.

Modification options are not limited to this. You can set the coordinates to , and then Steve or Alex will go to them themselves. You can also specify the construction area, and watch how the mountain and ravines turn into a flat area (our hero himself walks and removes extra blocks).

This is probably the most convenient cheat mod for playing vanilla Minecraft. Addon is available for all versions and sub-versions of the game: 1.12, 1.14, 1.15, 1.16.

    Lockyz Extra Dimensions Mod

Why look for diamonds, dig tunnels. You can simply turn on this mod and go through the portal to the world, entirely consisting of the most valuable blocks: diamond, sponge, obsidian, gold, lapis lazuli.

All that remains is to work a few minutes with a pickaxe, stock up on inventory, and will never need these resources again.

    ENTITY OUTLINER

MODS OF THE CONTROWS. It will be very convenient when traveling through the caves in order to know in advance about the approach of opponents. Hostile mobs are visible even through opaque blocks.

Probably every Minecraft player has encountered an unpleasant situation when a creeper quietly crept up behind and announces its presence with a countdown whistle before the explosion. Similar mod will help control the perimeter and keep a single villain out.

And this is a very handy cheat-mod for playing on the server. You can become the best in combat maps or in survival, because you will always know where your opponent is.

    Lumberjack

In order to cut down a tall tree in Minecraft, you need to get all the blocks of the trunk. If the tree is high, then you will have to put blocks under you to get to the top, and then break them under you to go down.

It’s only fun to do it the first few times, but it’s actually quite laborious and boring. With the Lumberjack mod, the dreary process of resource extraction turns into an exciting journey through the forest. One blow with an ax — and the tree crumbles into blocks, falls at the player’s feet. In 10 minutes you can chop as much wood as you can’t get without mods in 3 hours.

This is the perfect cheat for a builder, because any building requires just a lot of wood and planks. Mod is available for 1.12, 1.14 and 1.16.

    FreeCam

This mod allows you to explore the entire surrounding space in free camera mode. In this case, the character remains in place. Cheat is available for 1.12, 1.15 and 1.16.

Why dig underground, explore tunnels, try to break into a well-protected area on the server. Or why climb into other people’s houses, waiting for the owners to leave on business. Just enough to hide in the bushes (so that no one accidentally kills while the player is cheating), and explore the entire environment of , including the underworld, passing through all the blocks. After everything around has been studied, the cheater returns to the body of his character, and already knows where to go and where everything lies.

    Ore Biome

Cheat mod for version 1.12 , which creates a separate biome, entirely consisting of the most valuable ores. All that remains for the player to do is to take a pickaxe and pick up as much ore as he can carry.

The mod is very cheating, but it allows you to get rid of the search for annoying resources, while not depriving yourself of an important part of the Minecraft gameplay. You will still need to mine with a pickaxe, but it will be in one place and the need to dig long boring tunnels will disappear.

Be careful when using cheat mods. In a single player game, such add-ons will really help to diversify, improve and speed up the gameplay, but when playing on a server with other players, you need to familiarize yourself with the rules of the server in advance. Most often, these mods are prohibited for use in multiplayer and you can get banned for them.

If you consider yourself a real Minecraft fan, then you should test yourself while passing the best survival maps.
