  • Sabine Schmitz, a legendary racer known as the Queen of the Nürburgring, recently passed away.
  • To pay tribute to her memory, Forza Motorsport 7 has introduced a new Rivals event that players can participate in.
  • Get behind the wheel of a Ford Transit SuperSportVan and race around the Nordschleife track, an homage to a Top Gear moment.

Today, Forza Motorsport 7 lovingly pays tribute to an absolute legend behind the wheel, Sabine Schmitz. Known as the Queen of the Nürburgring by car fanatics, Sabine Schmitz was the first woman to win the infamous 24 Hours Race at the Nürburgring, made regular appearances on Top Gear, and overall was a beloved high-profile driver. Starting today, players can honor her memory by participating in a new Rivals event in Forza Motorsport 7.

The Rivals event has players get behind the wheel of a Ford Transit SuperSportVan and race around the Nordschleife track. This particular Rivals event is a throwback to when Sabine Schmitz jokingly criticized the then-Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson for his time around the same track in a Jaguar, and claimed she could beat that time in a van. She then proceeded to absolutely crush Jeremy Clarkson’s time when racing around the track in the exact same car he used.

Forza Motorsport 7 is hands-down one of the best racing games for Xbox, and it’s great to see the title honor such a legendary driver. If you haven’t played Forza Motorsport 7 yet, it’s included in Xbox Game Pass.

10 Best Showcase Events In Forza Motorsport 7

Forza Motorsport is a series known for offering Xbox players high-speed thrills on the racetrack even if it isn’t the most realistic racer out there. It’s been compared to Gran Turismo numerous times over the years as fans of either series have debated the merits of each series, but there’s one thing that Forza does better than any other racing series and that’s special events.

RELATED: The Games You Need To Play If You Love Forza Horizon

These Showcase Events are the most spectacular in the spin-off Forza Horizon series, but that doesn’t mean Forza Motorsport misses out on the action. From racing cars that players new to racing games would never consider touching, to competing in special autocross events and even car bowling, these events are worth any player’s time — so here are some of the best of all.

10/10 Mazda RX High-Speed Chase

If you’re a fan of rotary engines or just Mazda in general then this is a great event to playthrough. Over one lap of Road America, you’ll race in Mazda’s B12/80 endurance prototype against a group of classic Mazdas from across the ages.

But in case that sounded too easy, the race has a staggered start, with the slowest cars pulling away from the starting grid a full 30 seconds before you are released. So you won’t just be breezing past your opposition — instead, it’s a high-speed challenge where any mistake could create a gap that you simply won’t have time to close.

9/10 Hoonigan Autocross Ford GT

Autocross is considered a great way into motorsport as it’s a straightforward time trial through a track altered with a series of cone gates. This test of skill and handling means any car can compete, but in this event, you’re given the keys to a 2005 Ford GT capable of 0-60 in just 3.4s.

RELATED: The Best Muscle Cars In Forza Horizon 4, Ranked

So as you navigate the cone gates on this shortened version of the Circuit of the Americas, you’ll get to enjoy driving a motorsport icon. And if you beat the target time of three minutes and 15 seconds, you’ll be given the car to keep as a reward.

8/10 Vintage GT Racing

The Vintage GT Racing event takes players back to the beginnings of GT racing in the 1950s when the likes of Ferrari and Aston Martin ruled over the racing world. This event in particular hands you an Aston Martin DBR1 to go racing in.

It’s up to you to come out on top in this classic Aston Martin in this six-lap race around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya’s full Grand Prix layout. The biggest challenge is keeping these seventy-year-old machines on the track using their skinny tires that would be considered ridiculous on any modern-day car.

7/10 Top Gear Limo Bowling

Ever feel like bowling just isn’t exciting enough? Well, clearly the Forza team had the same thought and decided that they would turn the outer loop of the Top Gear Test Track into a massive bowling alley. With bowling pins bigger than any person, it’s up to you to drive and drift a Cadillac XTS Limousine through as many pins as possible.

Fortunately, the event takes place on a damp track so getting this behemoth of a car sideways is an easier task than it otherwise would be. But even so, keeping the car under control while trying to hit enormous bowling pins is far from an easy task.

6/10 Nurburgring 125

There are plenty of endurance events to be found across the Forza Motorsport series, but one of the best in the series’s seventh installment is the Nurburgring 125. Using the full endurance layout that joins the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix track, this is an eight-lap, 125-mile thriller.

You race in a touring car spec Honda Civic against other touring cars and GT3 cars in one of the game’s few multiclass racing events. It’ll take bravery, patience, and concentration to master this event, but once you’re in the zone the laps will fly by.

5/10 Factory Spec Racing — Porsche 911 GT1

Factory spec racing presents one of the truest tests of skill any driver can face. Everyone around you is in an equal machine, and in Forza, they are all tuned identically too. That means no one has a mechanical advantage over anyone else, so the only thing left to make a difference is your skill and bravery.

RELATED: The Fastest Cars In Forza Horizon 4

And when you’re racing in a 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 around Silverstone, bravery is in high demand. As you fight for position with other cars, you’ll be navigating the high-speed twists and turns of this iconic British track, so be the bravest out there and keep your foot on the throttle to ensure you come out on top.

4/10 Birth Of Grand Prix Racing

Classic Grand Prix cars were nothing like the Formula 1 machines that we see today. These cars were made in a time when the internal combustion engine was still in its infancy, when no one even knew what downforce was let alone how to apply it to a racecar.

And in this race around the Lime Rock circuit, you’ll need to keep your wits about you as you drive the classic Alfa Romeo P3 for eight laps, contending with its front heavy weight distribution, floaty steering, and an immensely powerful engine for what the car is. It’s a challenge for sure, but one that any motorsport fan is certain to enjoy.

3/10 Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps 100

Another great endurance event, the 100-mile race around the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is one of the best in the entire series. It gives you the perfect track with corners like the La Source hairpin and the sweeping bend of Blanchimont, along with a Corvette C7.R to race in.

As you race that Corvette for 23 laps, you’ll need to make sure your concentration never drops as any mistake on a track as fast as this will see you spinning or flying off into the barriers in the blink of an eye. But if you can hold it together, then you’ll enjoy a fantastic endurance racing experience.

2/10 GT Racing Reborn

The GT Racing Reborn event is an amazing multiclass race that puts you in the midst of 80s sportscar racing. You’ll be behind the wheel of an Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO and racing against other icons like the BMW M1 while ahead of you prototype racers from the same era will be speeding across the track.

As you race across Watkins Glen in its full circuit layout, you’ll have to find ways to navigate the corners side by side with other cars, unless you want to be forced to the back of the pack in this tight and competitive field.

1/10 Factory Spec Racing Mercedes AMG CLK GTR

Another factory spec racing event, this time in a Mercedes icon, the 1998 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR. This car is an icon of the GT1 homologation era and offers hundreds of horsepower for you to unleash along with plenty of downforce to keep it on the road.

And where better to race the AMG CLK GTR than the Hockenheimring, a circuit that demands you use every bit of skill you have. From heavy braking into hairpins to the tight and twisting stadium section of the track, coming out on top here is a testament to any driver’s skill, especially in a car as fast as the CLK GTR.

A guide for those whose motorsport ends with Ferrari and Schumacher. We study the legendary cars and racing tracks Forza Motorsport 7

Spa, Nürburgring, Suzuka, Brabham, Lancia, Lola. There are words that can make the heart of a person familiar with motorsport beat faster. In motor sports, man and machine must work in unison and to the limit of their own capabilities. Sometimes only in racing you can see what a team of people is really capable of, which, it would seem, nothing could unite. An engineer who studied aerospace, a mechanic who started fixing rental karts, a manager who recently sold cigarettes, and a pilot whose father worked three jobs to achieve his son’s dream of becoming a world champion.

Car simulators allow us to experience this world only in part. With their help, we will never know what it is to manage a racing team, but we can very well learn high-speed driving techniques, learn to distinguish Ferrari from Nissan not by appearance, but by the feeling on the road and ride on the famous tracks of the world.

One of the main racing games on Earth remains the Forza Motorsport series. Disgusting Men explores the iconic tracks and cars you can see, try and experience in the seventh installment of Microsoft’s exclusive automotive saga.

The most dangerous tracks

Sarte

Sarte is one of the most famous race tracks in the world, which even those for whom motorsport ends with Schumacher and Ferrari know about. It is on this ring that the incredible 24 Hours of Le Mans race is held annually. Today, this track remains one of the rarest examples of the old school of autodromes, sections of which are still used as public roads.

In Sarta, this part is the Mulsan straight. This is where the incredibly short history of the Mercedes factory team at Le Mans after the comeback ended.

The Webber

9000 and not only accidents, but also bright races. For example, the past daily marathon gave one of the hottest battles in recent years, and in the GT category. 24 hours after the start, the fate of the race was decided on the very last lap, when the Aston Martin crew in the first turn was ahead of the Corvette, which was teamed by the father of Kevin Magnussen, the current F1 driver, Jan Magnussen.

In 1955, the largest accident in motorsport history involving a Mercedes 300 SLR car, which is also in Forza Motorsport 7, took place here. It claimed 84 lives and led to a half-century ban on racing in Switzerland. The first race since then will take place only in 2018. At the wheel then was Pierre Levegh, famous for the fact that in 1952 he was close to a sole victory at Le Mans, having spent 23 hours behind the wheel. He was then summed up by an error when shifting gears.

After this incident, drivers were banned from participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans alone.

At the same time, Le Mans continues to be one of the most compelling races ever, featuring not only current F1 drivers (like 2015 race winner Nico Hulkenberg) but also celebrities such as Patrick Dempsey, Fabien Barthez and even Jackie Chan as the owner of the team that nearly won in 2017.

Nordschleife Nurburgring

The legendary German circuit, considered by many to be the most difficult circuit in the world. More than twenty kilometers long, seventy turns and a vertical drop of more than 300 meters, which is slightly lower than the famous Chrysler Building in New York. Once three-time Formula 1 champion Jackie Stewart called the track at the Nürburgring «Green Hell», and many continue to call it that until now.

The most famous episode in the history of the Nordschleife is, of course, a terrible accident at the Formula 1 stage of the great Niki Lauda in race 1976 years old. Nicky remained conscious until the very arrival at the hospital, but then fell into a coma. Just six weeks later, he was back behind the wheel and came fourth at Monza. This moment is amazingly captured in Ron Howard’s biopic Race, which came out a few years ago.

In addition to racing, the track is actively used by tourists who come here to drive fast cars, and car manufacturers. Because the Nürburgring is not only one of the most difficult race tracks, but also, perhaps, the most diverse. So, it is suitable for testing cars of any class.

Nürburgring is a real mecca for all fans of racing cars and motorsports. Turn 10 understands this very well, so they included three track variations in Forza Motorsport 7 at once. The “smallest” is 3.2 miles, which hosts the German Grand Prix in the Formula 1 class. Next — the same «Northern Loop», which Jackie Stewart called the «Green Hell». And for the most persistent, FM7 also has the so-called «United Loop» — a monstrous general version of the track with a length of more than 28 kilometers. Even the fastest racers in the world on the most powerful fireballs take at least seven minutes to complete it.

Monza

The famous Italian track is five years older than the Nürburgring and completely different from it. The «temple of speed», as the racing track around Milan is often called.

Initially, the race took place not only in the usual configuration today, but also in an oval 4.5 kilometers long. Thus, the total length of the ring was ten kilometers. Moreover, the turns of the oval were many times more difficult than the turns of the road part, because in the 50s and early 60s there were no aerodynamic cars, and their power was already significant.

Even today, there are only 11 turns on the track itself, but in the fifties, before flirting with chicanes, there were only 5. Five turns in six kilometers. That is why Monza is called the «Temple of Speed» — engine power in the first place, and a minimum of downforce.

But among the eleven turns, there is one great one, which in popularity can be compared with the «Red Water» in the Spa or with the «s» of Suzuki — the legendary «Parabolic», at the end of which the road line merges with an oval.

Monza is one of those tracks where

can even be described in text, and it will be exciting

A long straight followed by a short deceleration; down a few gears and a long right pull begins. You need to stay as far to the left as possible, continue to press on the accelerator pedal, and the stern of the car will tend to overtake the nose. Still, at a speed of 230 km / h, it is very desirable to have at least a little aerodynamic load, but it is impossible. And then follows the second longest straight line in the modern Formula 1 calendar. 1200 meters of constant acceleration — up to 370 km / h — and then the most severe braking to 70 km / h in the final straight at a hundred meters.

And, as is the case with classic tracks, she collected enough victims. Let’s remember one of the most tragic for the sport.

At the 1978 Italian Grand Prix, several cars collided at the very start — a brutal blow and a pair of broken legs in one of the brightest representatives of his generation, Ronnie Peterson.

For a variety of reasons, the ambulance could not reach the pilot for a quarter of an hour. It seemed that everything would work out when he was taken to the hospital, but a fat embolism led to death by morning.

A year ago, Max Verstappen took the title of the youngest Grand Prix winner from Sebastian Vettel. But if Max did it on a strong Red Bull, then the history of the German is much more interesting.

Rain qualifying eliminated most of the leaders from pole position almost immediately, and as a result, the pilots of a small private team from Faenza ended up in the first and fourth lines. Sebastian that Saturday afternoon became the youngest pole winner in history. In the most difficult conditions, with rain at the beginning, with the start behind the safety car, in a race where almost everyone made mistakes, Vettel did everything perfectly.

On that day, everyone saw the real racing birth of the future four-time champion.

Suzuka

Let’s move from Europe to one of the most elegant and unusual tracks in the world — the legendary Japanese Suzuka. A twisted eight in the past, Honda’s test track, Suzuka has incredible charm, while remaining a very demanding track for the drivers. Even starting on it is not easy, because the start-finish line goes downhill. But not only the configuration makes it truly legendary.

Three episodes have left her name forever in motorsport history.

In 1989, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna, familiar to many, led the victory for the world title in the Formula 1 class. On 46 out of 53 laps, running second, Senna made a very risky attack attempt, which ended in a collision and retirement of Prost, who by that time was already called the Professor for his composure and pragmatism.

Therefore, in the first place, many blamed the Frenchman for what happened. Although Senna continued to move and even won the race, he was disqualified as a result, and the champion of season 19Alain «Professor» Prost became 89 years old.

A year later, two irreconcilable rivals met again on the track, but no longer as partners. Prost moved to Ferrari during the off-season. Their dispute for the title and victory in the race ended already in the first turn. This time, the majority was already on the side of the Frenchman — except for revenge, Senna’s act could not be explained by anything.

If what happened at the turn of the decade was passion and rivalry, then the events of 2014 made many, if not most, remember, and some even realize that racing is an extremely dangerous sport. The Japanese Grand Prix took place in less than ideal conditions. Not far from the venue, a typhoon raged, the edges of which touched Suzuka and brought with it endless downpours. But multibillion-dollar television contracts did not allow the race to be postponed to another time. The start was given.

The last start in the life of Jules Bianchi. Collision with a tractor, which evacuated another pilot from the track, at a speed of about 120 km / h, an overload of more than 240G. In July of the following year, Bianchi’s family decides to take him off life support. The death was the first since the 1994 Imola Black Weekend that two people died on the track, one of them was Ayrton Senna.

The pearl of wrestling was the Formula 1 race in 2005.

Due to the idiotic qualifying rules of the time, all the top drivers ended up at the back of the peloton at the start of the race. Finn Kimi Raikkonen started from 17th place — at Suzuka, where you can usually overtake in a couple of places, this is almost a death sentence. But for all 52 laps, Raikkonen systematically broke ahead, and on the last lap he took the lead, beating Giancarlo Fisichella in the championship Renault in the first turn of the track along the outer radius (!) And successfully won the race.

Daytona Super Speedway

But even in Japan the tracks are rather European. Something completely different awaits us in the States. Local sports have always been a product of Americans and for Americans. The famous ovals can also be attributed here. First of all, the grandiose Daytona super speedway.

Super Sweepways are ovals longer than 2 miles or 3.2 kilometers. This phenomenon is extremely rare, there are only seven such tracks in the USA. It is thanks to this type of track that the concept of «restrictor» races appeared, when the engine is specially «strangled» with the help of a plate that reduces air flow.

Pilots go through the entire lap without taking their feet off the gas pedal, respectively, and the gears are changed only when entering / leaving the pit stop. As a result, the speed slightly exceeds 300 kilometers per hour, but throughout all more than three hours of the race.

All this, on the one hand, gives incredibly intense races, and on the other hand, even more spectacular accidents. YouTube is full of compilations.

Fast forward to 2001. First race of the season, the prestigious Daytona 500 miles, last lap. Completely unremarkable, it would seem, a collision on the last lap.

Not only did it end the successful career and life of seven-time NASCAR champion Dale «The Intimidator» Earnhardt, but it also seriously changed the safety standards that had been reluctantly implemented in the US prior to this episode.

SAFER barriers began to appear on the tracks, absorbing a significant amount of energy. Previously, the machines directly crashed into the concrete and absorbed themselves. And most importantly, pilots began to massively use the HANS system, the simplest device that protects against a fracture of the base of the skull.

But NASCAR is famous not only for colorful accidents. The density of the struggle, especially at the finish line, has always been a kind of hallmark of this type of racing.

In 2016, there was another restart with 12 laps to go. The first five places were occupied by racers on Toyota cars, who were going to play for the first place. Until the white flag, which marks the last lap, everything went quite smoothly. It seemed that Matt Kenseth would bring the race to victory, only the last lap makes all NASCAR drivers completely ruthless. A light push from Dani Hamlin led to an epic battle between Dani and Martin Truex in the final meters. They ended up separated by a mere 0.010 seconds, the smallest gap in Daytona 500 history.0003

Daytona has given motorsport a special class of racing prototypes. Since 1962, the track has hosted a 24-hour race that opens the world racing season. At a certain point, prototypes that were originally intended for Le Mans began to take part in it, which means they were damn expensive and fast. But the proximity of the walls and the exorbitant speeds oriented to the Mulsan straight led to the fact that in 2003 special prototypes for the Daytona were born. As often happens in American racing, it turned out, in fact, a monoclass, which, due to its cost, is extremely popular.

Hockenheimring

Endless forest straights, turns that could be counted on the fingers of one hand, incredible average speeds, only slightly inferior to Monza. This is exactly what the Hockenheimring once was. Unfortunately, after perestroika, her character changed, and she lost some of her charm.

But a couple of moments of her racing history will always be remembered. And they happened during one weekend in 1982. That season was generally rich in events: the refusal of half of the teams to come to one of the stages, the death of Gilles Villeneuve, and the 23-year-old Ricardo Paletti who was burned alive at the Canadian Grand Prix.

The Ferrari team, represented by Didier Pironi, did not start the season very well. In addition, the death of Villeneuve clearly did not add confidence. But by the end of the championship the situation improved. Didier came to the track as the leader of the season, and in qualifying he managed to confirm it again, almost a second ahead of the nearest pursuer in the rain. But the next day, the first place on the starting grid was empty.

Returning to the pits, the Frenchman did not notice the slow Renault Prost. Two broken legs, recovery in a few months — and a career in Formula 1 was over.

The race took place, and on the 18th lap there was an extremely funny episode.

Nelson Piqué, then reigning world champion, was approached by Elisio Salazar of Chile. The Chilean could not boast of the results, but he will remain in the history of Formula 1. His mistake and, as a result, the retirement of Pique, demonstrated that the pilots are also men, which means they can wave their fists if necessary.

Not only for riders, manufacturers or sponsors, the tracks are a platform where they can show themselves. Sometimes for an ordinary person, only a stage of a racing series can become the place through which he will try to achieve his goal.

During the 2000 German Grand Prix, at the very moment when the McLaren drivers were in the lead, a man in white appeared on the track. It became really scary when he began to run across the racing canvas directly in front of moving fireballs.

To avoid the worst, a safety car was released onto the track, which leveled the entire gap. Later it began to rain over the track, but given that it was stretched for three kilometers, part of it continued to remain dry. Barrichello decided to stay on the slicks, but the risk paid off in the end, and the Brazilian scored one of his most emotional victories. He then started from 18th place.

This was only a part of the legendary racing tracks that are present in the game. Now let’s look at the no less significant cars of the past, which can be taken to the tracks in Forza Motorsport 7.

Famous cars

Brabham BT24

Today’s Formula 1 has almost nothing to do with what it once was . Once upon a time, small racing teams created by enthusiasts in garages could compete with Ferrari-level teams and even win the championship.

In 1962, the first Australian world champion Jack Brabham created a team that bears his name, also becoming its pilot.

The Brabham BT24 has proven to be extremely successful and, oddly enough, the last in many areas. She was one of the last models to use a part frame structure and a Repco engine, while most had already switched to the famous Cosworth DFV. And, finally, it was BT24 that brought the last championship to the team under the leadership of its creator. In the future, the team was bought by Bernie Ecclestone and began to build his empire.

In every race of the 1967 season, at least one BT24 pilot made it to the podium — and this at a time when not all starters made it to the checkered flag. As a result, the co-pilot of Brabham, the New Zealander Denny Hulme, became the world champion, Jack himself became the vice-champion, and the team, which is logical, won the Constructors’ Cup with a large margin.

This was Brabham’s last manufacturer’s win.

In 1972, the team came under the control of Ecclestone, the results began to fall, which eventually led to its closure at 1992, when she no longer had practically nothing in common with the team that Jack Brabham had once created.

Lotus 49

In 1967, another legendary car was born. Colin Chapman, who created it, was a true visionary and the author of many technical innovations in motorsport. One of his pearls was the Lotus 49 car, which, although it lost in the championship, became a turning car in the history of Formula 1.

This car was the first to use the Cosworth DFV engine. The first championship with it was won already in 1968, the last — in 1982.

For the first time, it was on the Lotus 49 that the wings appeared, and the engine was integrated directly into the chassis, which made it possible to achieve incredible rigidity and handling.

And most importantly, for the first time Lotus 49 has sponsored advertising stickers. This was the first step in turning motorsport from an entertainment for the aristocrats and an exhibition of the achievements of automakers into a real business.

Being the first in many areas, she was certainly successful on the track after a year of performances. In 1968, there was no equal to Graham Hill, who won 3 victories, which helped to defeat the future champion Jackie Stewart.

Team Lotus has existed for 37 years. The last championship was taken in 1978, thanks to Mario Andretti. Ayrton Senna also played for the team before joining McLaren in the mid-80s, and a little later, in the early 90s, Mika Hakkinen made her debut at the wheel.

Money was getting worse, results were falling. The 1993 season began to give hope, but heavy investment in the car’s electronics, most of which had been banned since 1994, finally finished off the team.

Ferrari F-158

The most successful Formula 1 team in history is Scuderia Ferrari. The only team that has competed in every Formula 1 World Championship.

16 Constructors’ Cups and 15 individual titles. 228 wins, 212 pole positions in 944 starts. A team that always bets on one pilot and uses team tactics; the only team that has retained a tobacco sponsor so far, although there has been no mention of Marlboro for many years.

A team where you simply have to speak Italian. Legend team.

In 1964, the cups in both classifications of the Formula 1 championship left for Maranello. In the 60s, the championship regulations limited only the engine size, due to which the model with the 158 index was equipped with a one and a half liter eight-cylinder engine.

The power of this miracle reached 190 hp, later reaching 210. It also for the first time mounted the suspension inside the body, and the rear brakes were combined with a differential.

It was behind the wheel of this chassis that the only champion in history won the championship both on two wheels and on four.

John Surtees has won first place in motorcycle racing four times, with the last title coming in 1960, and in the same year he made his first appearance in the royal races. After only two full seasons, he was invited to Ferrari, where in his second year he finally became a legend.

If Formula 1 doesn’t excite you like Ferrari does, don’t worry, Forza Motorsport 7 features over 40 models from the famous Italian stable. From super-rare classics like the 250 GTO (one of 36 examples of this car that rolled off the assembly line in the 60s sold for $52 million in 2013) to modern blockbusters like the 458 Italia and LaFerrari.

McLaren MP4/4

The McLaren brand started out as a car team formed by New Zealand driver Bruce McLaren in the mid-60s. For a long time her popularity was based only on racing success, until at 1989 McLaren did not produce expensive road supercars. The history of this brand can be easily traced in Forza Motorsport 7. In the game, you can ride the legendary F1 model, which remained the fastest production car from 1993 to 2005, and the modern McLaren 650S, and other few products of this expensive British automaker.

To date, McLaren remains the second oldest team on the grid after Ferrari. In over fifty years, McLaren have won 8 team titles and 12 individual titles.

MP4/4 is the most successful model in the history of Formula 1, created for the 1988 championship. The first season with Honda, who had previously worked with the Williams team for several years and led this duo to two championships, promised to be at least successful.

But no one expected such a total advantage. The team played in their league. In Monaco, Senna won the pole with a one and a half second advantage over his partner, who in turn was ahead of the third driver by a second. And if you do not go into details, then such a huge superiority was due to one simple idea. Place the engine as low as possible and let more air into the rear wing.

Fifteen pole positions and the same number of wins in sixteen races. The only time on the top of the podium was not a McLaren pilot — in Monza, where the leading Senna was knocked out by the Williams pilot, the legendary conqueror of the Dakar, Jean-Louis Schlesser.

As a result, the English team had more than three times the points advantage over Ferrari.

Mazda 787B

The Le Mans Daily Race is a unique and unrepeatable event. The 1991 race was special. It was then that, surprisingly, for the last time in history, the car of the Japanese brand won.

But Mazda 787B is interesting not only for this.

787B is the only car with a rotary engine to win at Le Mans. Even more interesting is that he did not win anywhere else. The specs of the 787B look impressive even today. About 700 hp at 830 kg of weight. One of the drivers was then-current Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert, whose success was only repeated in 2015 by Nico Hulkenberg with Porsche.

Compared to Japanese competitors like Honda or Toyota, Mazda does not have such a powerful motorsport history. The victory at Le Mans has remained the greatest achievement in motorsport, although not everyone succeeds. If it were not for the actual ban on rotary engines, then the upper stage, perhaps, would have submitted more than once.

All this is just a small part of the huge Forza Motorsport 7. Not covered were such tracks as the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps with the spectacular Red Water, the home of all British motorsport — the track at Silverstone, the circuit in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwhich keeps the story of Michael’s magnificent victory Schumacher, won in fifth gear and many, many others.

And there are so many racing vehicles that you can talk about classes only for hours — there are even Formula E cars in the game. Therefore, if you love motorsport or plan to get involved in it without the risk of breaking all your bones and burning out, then the «seven» was created exactly and only for you.

Forza Motorsport 7 is available October 3rd for PC and Xbox One. The material was prepared with the support of Microsoft Russia.
