The Hotel Assassination | GTA 5 Mission Gold Medal Guide

The Hotel Assassination is a main story mission in Grand Theft Auto V given by
Lester Crest, involving protagonist
Franklin Clinton.

It’s the 31° GTA V mission in chronological order, and it takes place in Los Santos.

Lester asks Franklin to take down Brett Lowrey, CEO of Bilkinton Research, who is staying at the Von Crastenburg Hotel.

Unlike the other Assassination Missions, this mission is mandatory for story progression, so it must be played at this specific point in the story.

The Hotel Assassination — Mission Details:

Franklin meets Lester on a beach at Vespucci Beach. Lester knows Franklin needs money and has a few jobs lined up for him. Lester tasks Franklin with assassinating Brett Lowrey, CEO of Bilkinton Research. Brett has been making medicines that aren’t compliant and paying the FDA to pass them.

Lester tells Franklin that Brett is currently staying at the Von Crastenburg Hotel and it’s best to hit him while he’s leaving. This can either be done in two ways, he can either be shot by a sniper rifle or plant a sticky bomb on his car and detonate it while he’s in it.

Once at the hotel, Franklin hides out in a multi-story car park, across the way from the hotel’s entrance. Once the task is done, Franklin flees the scene. He’ll only generate a wanted level if he is seen.

Franklin calls Lester to let him know the job was successful. Lester tells Franklin that these jobs are getting a little successful and he needs to buy some tangible assets. Lester buys a house in Vinewood Hills and needs someone to live there for tax purposes. He chooses Franklin and has some guys start to move his stuff over. Franklin is overjoyed at the fact he doesn’t have to live with his aunt anymore.

Before this mission:

• Invest all the money of all three protagonists in Betta Pharmaceuticals (BET) stocks on the Bawsaq site.

After this mission:

Blitz Play is a main story mission in Grand Theft Auto V given by
Federal Investigation Bureau (FIB), involving protagonist
Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton and Trevor Philips.

It’s the 36° GTA V mission in chronological order, and it takes place in Los Santos.

This mission is the Heist Finale of one of the main heists in the storyline of the game.

The FIB need Michael, Trevor and Franklin to rob an armored car.

Gold Medal Objectives (100%)

The following are the Mission Objectives required to obtain the Gold Medal in the mission «Blitz Play»:

• Hawk Down: Shoot down the helicopter as Trevor.
  • Despite the description, the helicopter can be taken down by any character.

• Headshots: Kill 12 enemies with a headshot.
• Accuracy: Finish with a shooting accuracy of at least 60%.
• Switcher: Switch character 10 times.

Note: You can complete each Gold Medal requirement in multiple playthroughs of the mission. You don’t need to obtain them all in one single playthrough.

Blitz Play — Mission Details:

Michael, Franklin and Trevor all meet at the FIB warehouse in El Burro Heights. They all go over the final plan. Trevor is going to be situated from a vantage point on the lookout, Michael is going to be in the garbage truck that is blocking the road and Franklin will be in the alley in the tow truck, ready to ram the armoured truck.

The group change into their disguises and make their way to the heist point in Cypress Flats with the tow truck and garbage truck. Trevor is on the lookout with binoculars to spot the armoured truck. Once he does, Michael gets the garbage truck in position to block the road.

The armoured car stops due to the truck being in the way and play switches to Franklin who comes speeding out of the alley in the tow truck, ramming the armoured truck. Franklin gets out of the truck and fits sticky bombs to the rear doors of the armoured truck. They blow the doors and Michael goes in to find the loot. Two guards come out and warn that the alarm has been triggered and the police will be here any minute.

Michael completes the task but the LSPD are already on their case. The group gains a four-star wanted level and now has to fight their way out. Play can now switch between all three protagonists in their fight. Once the group has dealt with multiple waves of cops, they find an opening to escape. Franklin gets into the garbage truck and drives it to the getaway car location.

Once at the getaway car location, Franklin destroys the garbage truck using sticky bombs to cover the group’s tracks. Franklin gets in the getaway car and drives away. He calls Michael to say the truck is trashed. Michael is on his way to Devin Weston’s house so play automatically switches back to him.

Michael drops off the bonds to Devin, with the pair properly meeting for the first time. Devin gives Michael more jobs. He wants him, Franklin and Trevor to steal five cars for him in exchange for Michael to work with Solomon Richards, a movie producer. Michael agrees and leaves Devin’s house.

61-A. Road spikes (Stingers)

According to the developed plan (the author decided to take the jackpot in a quiet way), which involves the selection of cash-in-transit vehicles into the tunnels, we need a van with built-in spikes for the wheels. This can be found in the parking lot of the police station, which is located near the impound. It’s a few blocks from Franklin’s house and his aunt Denise. The task is nowhere easier — we invade, get into the van and run away from persecution.

Option from [email protected] : To quietly steal the van from the police station, go around it from the side of the alley near the parking lot. There you will find a place where you can jump over the fence right into the lot.

• Steal a police van and escape before 02:00.
• Deliver the police van without damage.

61-B. The Driller

We get to the construction site and go into stealth mode. We cut down the guard and two builders in front (they stand on both sides of the road). Then we go around the fence on the left, we cut down two more workers one by one. Then we go out to another gate and cut down the guard there. After that, we turn towards the construction site, take a sniper and kill two builders talking to each other with one shot. After making sure that the construction site is cleared, we get into the truck and take the driller to the indicated point.

62-A. Gauntlet

Gauntlet is the name of the muscle car model, and therefore the name of the mission is not translated.

The next item on the plan is to find vehicles suitable for transporting a large amount of gold. The approximate location of such cars will come to the mobile phone.

The first one is in Rockford Hills, near the jewelry store we robbed. Approximately at the place where we left the car with Lester.

The second one is in Pillbox Hill, on the top level of a multi-storey car park, which is located east of the freeway that leads to the airport.

The third is on Mission Road, a block from the towed penalty box. By this time, for sure, one of the cars that you abandoned somewhere in the city or outside it, the one that you did not want to pick up, will be waiting for you at this very parking lot. It is marked with a white car icon. One block to the West — on the parking space lined on the road there will be the desired Gauntlet.

• Deliver all three Gauntlets listed in the letter.
• Deliver the Gauntlet without damage.
• Spend $17,000 to upgrade Gauntlets.

By the way, the discovery and transportation of each is considered almost a separate mission, but since the essence does not change much, we decided not to separate them.

62-B. Siding (Sidetracked)

Having reached the railway junction, we will switch to stealth mode and cut down both workers. Let’s wait for the train to arrive, and the game will switch to Trevor and use the helicopter to take the locomotive to the runway. Elementary…

63-A. Huge jackpot — Quietly (The Big Score — Subtle)

Decided to take the gold quietly? Okay, but it will be quiet only at the beginning. Having dressed up, we go to the tunnel, where we will select armored vehicles. Let’s take with us one security guard named Casey (Casey, there were rumors about him, which also turned out to be true) and we will go to the gates of the federal repository. Everything will go smoothly there and it will be possible to take the gold out of the building. However, it will still need to be taken to the point with the cars prepared in the previous task. The departure will be provided by Franklin — on his behalf we will play a mini-game. The task is to switch the traffic lights so that the cars with Michael and Trevor would not be caught by the Merryweather cars that drove towards them (they found out about the robbery and hurried to the scene). Halfway through the cash-in-transit vehicles will pass quietly, but then mercenaries will appear, with whom it is impossible to go out into the same street. In principle, the task is simple and solves quickly, without resorting to frequent switching of traffic lights.

However, having reached the place, the mercenaries will still find us, and while the gang members are transferring gold from vans to cars, the three protagonists must repel the attack. Remember to switch when the icon of another character starts to glow red. After successfully repulsing the attacks, we will sit in the car and rush around the city. By this moment, of course, the cops who will «accompany» the cargo will already be connected. Having reached the tunnel, which is next to the beach, we will drive along the ramp inside the trucks, thereby disappearing from the field of view of the police. While they will be at a loss to search for the missing cars full of gold, the protagonists will already be in the desert to hand over the gold to the people responsible for it at this stage. The work of a lifetime is over. It remains to wait for twenty million per person, but they will come to the accounts only after the end of the final mission.

• Kill 20 enemies with headshots.
• Switch the traffic light no more than 9 times.
• Complete the mission with at least 60% accuracy.

63-B. Huge jackpot — Trivial approach (The Big Score — Obvious)

The second approach is no less interesting than the first. First we drive to the depository, where Michael and one shooter will create a distraction by brandishing a weapon. Meanwhile, Franklin, in the subway where construction is taking place, will use a driller who will break through the wall right into the gold vault. Then we will install explosives on the doors of the bars and blow them up.

Now back to the subway — there you need to fight off a group of special forces while the driver pushes the carts with gold to the hole through which two helicopters will take the loot. After shooting a few more opponents, we switch to Trevor — we will have one more helicopter under our control. There will be no chase in the air, and then we calmly fly out from behind the city limits, and switch to Michael. He will have a hard time with the shooter — he will need to make his way through the whole regiment, and Franklin and the driver will connect to them. There will be several helicopters on the way. You can easily knock them out by killing the pilot. Having gone down to the underground parking, it is better to prepare something exploding — jeeps will arrive, which are better to undermine right there. As soon as the characters get to the car, we accelerate — we will need to get rid of five wanted stars. This is not so difficult to do — let’s break away from a few «cop-carts», and hide in an alley. Or where there are no roads — somewhere a little outside the city.

After dropping the tail, the game will return us to Trevor, who, apparently, «hovered» over the VINEWOOD sign while chasing Michael and the others. The Merryweather rotorcraft will tie behind the first helicopter. It won’t take much to knock them out. Here the more difficult moment is the flight through the wind farm, where the twisting blades can blow up the helicopter or tear the container from the helicopter. In both cases, the mission will fail. Therefore, the flight must be as accurate as possible. The obstacles have been overcome, the mercenaries’ helicopters have been blown up, and the only thing left to do is to lower the gold onto the platform of a slowly moving train. Then we fly to the airfield. It’s in the bag, in the hat — $ 200 million.
We pass the final mission, and a little more than 60 of them the main characters will share among themselves.

• Kill 20 enemies with headshots.
• Throw a container of gold onto a train within 30 seconds.
• Complete the mission with at least 60% accuracy.
• Complete the task before 16:00.

Time for the final task. Only Franklin can start it (and finish it alone, which is not entirely correct). We are heading home, where Devin Weston will come. He will offer to kill Michael, who prevented him more than once and pretty ruffled his nerves. As we remember, Franklin was already persuaded to kill, but Trevor, agents of the FRB. Who to follow? The people who brazenly used the trinity for their own purposes in the struggle between government organizations? Or a person who was not honored to pay for the provision of the rarest cars that were given to the player with such blood? Fortunately, there is a third option — to save everyone. It’s a lot heavier, but I’m sure that’s the kind of ending you’d want to see.

If you are an insensitive creature, you can safely choose between option A and B. There is nothing good in these missions: chasing the chosen victim and killing a friend. In the case of Trevor, Michael will help Franklin, but with Michael, Franklin will have to deal with it alone. Although «manage» is a strong word. Everything is extremely easy. If you believe that you can easily earn a gold medal (just complete the task), then you are wrong here too — these missions can be completed when you go through the third option and finish the storyline. As a result, you will have all three characters, and gold medals. In addition, by killing one of the protagonists, the opportunity to complete tasks that are available only to him is lost. And the property will disappear. With this choice, you can make yourself not only an insensitive blockhead, but also a complete nerd. In general, we choose the third option.

By the way . If Trevor is killed or both are saved, that is, if Michael remains alive, Tracy will continue to cherish the dream of becoming a star, ignoring her studies, and in the case of Michael’s murder, just before her husband’s death, Amanda will please, saying that Tracy went to college.

64. The Third Way / The Third Way

Having chosen the salvation of both, we subscribe to a long, but cool mission with the right end. Franklin will call Lester and we’ll go to him. Frank will ask for advice, and Lester, without much thought, will answer that you need to kill both. But literally a moment later, his brain will give the right idea. Weston, a large shareholder of Merryweather, was interested in the gold business, and therefore his fighters can be attracted by the rumor that this same gold is being poured at the local foundry. Lester will let this rumor grow, Trevor and Michael will be alerted and drive up to the plant, and in the meantime the player will go after Lamar, whom Franklin has asked for help. He won’t refuse. Having taken a friend, we arrive at the territory of the plant. Hines’ mercenaries and fighters are about to run there, and Mikey and T are already trying to kick each other’s ass. Having calmed them, we will take positions: Lamar at the entrance, the trinity inside. The first opponents will burst inside, and as soon as they get closer, we will begin the execution. Then it will be hot: hordes will rush to the plant. In a few minutes, Lamar will call for help, and you will have to break through to him, leaving Michael and Trevor alone. Having come to Lamar and beat off several waves of attacks with him, the game will switch us to Michael. It will be necessary to get over to Trevor and continue to hold back the attacks.

As a result, having shot enough, Michael, Trevor and Franklin will call Lester and find out where the people they need are located. Solving problems with some enemies is going to be in the «Godfather» style, killing all opponents at once. So we have Stretch, Chen Sr., Hynes and Devin Weston. To make things go more smoothly, the characters will «swap» their antagonists. The first to go to eliminate Michael, the second — Franklin, the third — Trevor. Weston will be left for a snack. We choose the protagonists in the same order, although you can choose a different turn, because this is not so important.

When he got to the basketball court, where Stretch plays with the «Ballas» — he really, as Frank said, sniffed with the «violet». The condition for obtaining the gold medal says that the guy must be dealt with hand-to-hand, but there are too many bandits around him. Try to shoot them from a distance, for example with a sniper rifle. If something goes wrong, take out the machine gun and shoot the way it is easier. It is desirable to eliminate Chen with a sticky bomb, but if something goes wrong, grab an RPG and fire at the center car without hesitation. With Hynes it will be easier — he needs to hit the head. When the booth with the agent goes down, kill the scoundrel with an aimed shot.

And so, as they settled on Trevor, he will go after Weston. That’s good — in which case, his special ability will come to court. The road leads to his house, where Michael first met him after a raid on a cash car. There will be about ten mercenaries there, and Weston himself is quietly basking in the pool, waiting for news from the foundry. Carefully shoot the guards, looking out of the shelters, and then head to the pool. There, Weston, who did not come up with anything better, will climb into the box. We get it, stuff it into the trunk and go to Michael and Franklin. On the spot, we will push the car with Weston in the trunk off a cliff and listen to a short heartfelt conversation of three friends. As a result, everyone is alive, conflicts have been settled, enemies have been wiped off the face of the earth, and in the meantime, money from the previous case will come to the accounts. Be sure you did the right thing. Watching the credits…

Another small but nice reward. Ron will text Trevor,

By the way . After resolving the conflict between Michael and Trevor «the third way», having left for a joint pastime, T admits to Mikey that Brad, for whom he was so worried, was always a goat. On this walkthrough of any part, you can safely finish, but not in the case of GTA 5. Firstly, the green letter L remained on the map if you did not succumb to the temptation to complete these tasks earlier, and secondly, the icon of Michael’s shrink, which, although not required for 100% or for obtaining achievements, adds up to the mosaic of Michael’s story.

Let’s start with Lester’s assignments for Franklin. Before the start of each of the next five missions, go to the exchange on behalf of each of the three heroes and invest in the company indicated below the name of the task, and if you have shares in unwanted companies, you need to immediately sell them. You need to invest absolutely all the money (hovering over the plus, hold down the consent key) available — this way the profit will be maximum.

Before starting the next mission on behalf of all three heroes invest in Beta Pharmasuticals (via BAWSAQ) and sell Bilkinton shares.

65. Murder — Hotel (Hotel Assassination)

On the beach, Lester will meet Franklin and offer him to earn money — he will have to kill businessmen who are objectionable to him, improving his condition. Lester will be sent to the hotel from which the victim will leave. He will need to be shot. We expect that there is a sniper rifle. Before leaving, you need to invest through BAWSAQ in Beta Pharmasuticals if you want to earn extra money on the exchange. Avoid Bilkinton — now you should not invest in this company in any case. Having reached the point, we are waiting for the «client» — the timer shows the time when the «bump» will come out of the hotel doors. As soon as he appears, we kill the uncle, we sit in a car or on a motorcycle (if another transport, please).

The door is behind the tree on the right, the target will appear from there.

The reward is not even trivial — up to ten thousand + profit from the exchange (shares will rise in price by 50%), as well as a great bonus — Lester will call and say that Franklin has acquired a chic apartment in the hills, not far from Michael’s house, and all his things already there (I wonder how they transported Chop). True, aunt’s home will no longer be available — she will inform you by e-mail. We inspect the new housing and rush to the pay phone, by which Lester will give the next task.

• Kill a target with a sniper rifle.

66 The Multi Target Assassination

Franklin will probably still have a sniper rifle from the previous case, and that’s good. Because she’s just what the doctor ordered for this mission. In the allotted time (about 9 minutes), you need to eliminate four targets — jurors who will testify in court in the interests of the Redwood cigarette company. Lester, as always, covering it with good goals, but not hiding his selfish interests, gives a tip to a new goal after killing the previous one. Let’s start by investing in Debonaire through LCN, avoiding Redwood, and rush to the first target. This is a bodybuilder who flaunts in front of the ladies on the open-air sports ground on the beach. You don’t need to approach him, otherwise the heels will sparkle at the jock. We take out a sniper rifle and reduce all the guy’s work on ourselves to nothing, and we put the ladies to flight. We take flight ourselves — we are waiting for a tip on the next victim. She is on a yacht, which can, of course, be approached by a jet ski. But why? We “remove” the yachtsman from the shore, who has a girl rubbing on his knees, and rush on. The third target is riding a motorcycle, so it’s good to find a sports car and follow the chase. It is not necessary to shoot — it is enough to catch up with the motorcyclist and «poke» the bumper into his rear wheel. The target will fall out of the «saddle», and, ignoring the «Do not hit the lying» rule, it can be finished off extremely easily. The last tip is rather vague — «Look for dirty windows.» The fact is that we are talking about a window cleaner. Having approached a high-rise building, it can be seen on the cradle. We take a sniper rifle, kill him and rush away. Then we get thousands for the work done and return to the exchange. First, we sell Debonaire shares and immediately invest in Redwood — in a couple of days, its shares will increase by 300%, although the author is not sure about the last action — he did not try it himself.

• Eliminate targets as quickly as possible.

67. Assassination — Panel (The Vice Assassination)

Before starting the mission, you need to invest in iFruit through BAWSAQ on behalf of the whole trinity. Lester will indicate a new target — it should be the client of the specified prostitute.

Having arrived at the place, we are waiting for the cabriolet shown in the screenshot. You can shoot the driver right away, you can wait until they drive off to a secluded place, or you can shoot from a sniper rifle.

• Complete the mission without disturbing the cops.

68. The Bus Assassination

Alas, you can’t make a fortune on this mission, but you can lose money if you don’t get rid of Vapid Motor Company shares before the murder. Some stingy rich man rides the bus to save on fares. And therefore, having become a driver of a regular bus, you need to figure out the miser. We go to the parking lot, take the bus and start our duties. As we approach the bus stop, we pick up passengers. At one of the stops, the person we need will either figure out what’s what, or be indignant at the rise in ticket prices and refuse to get on the bus. He will snatch the bike from the old woman and try to get away on it. A heavy bus is the most for such an accident.

Addition from Dmitry : you can make a lot of money on a mission. After the murder, you need to buy Vapid shares, wait 6 in-game days and sell. The profit is double.

• Kill a target with a bus.

69. The Construction Assassination

The last case issued by Lester to Franklin. You should kill the mafia, who got involved in the construction business, and you will have to invest all your money in Gold Coast Development. The catch is that the target found out about the impending assassination attempt and surrounded himself with guards.

We are going to the construction site, where bodyguards will be waiting for us. We clean the foundation and go by elevator to the upper floors. There we clean one floor, go to the other end and use the elevator again. This one leads up to the roof. There, the coward will try to escape in a helicopter — he should be shot down. We finish off the remaining guards and calmly skim the cream off this task.

70. Abandonment Issues

We go to the shrink (the car is standing at the entrance for the first time, and not without reason, let’s put a sticky bomb on it), which will first take a picture with Michael, and then announce that he will host his show on TV, and the story of Michael and his family will be the main topic of discussion. 21. Scouting the port

Floyd, who is registered with Trevor and Wade, works at the port where T is going to hit the jackpot by robbing one of the ships. Having approached the first one, we put the loader perpendicularly and raise the «box», we carry it to the right place. Then we do the same again. After that, it will be ordered to «drag» the container using a special «crane». You don’t need to drive it to free space — we move from containers that need to be dragged to trucks, where they need to be left, and back. No more. Getting used to it will not be easy at first, but it is possible. Do not drop the containers, but release them when they are already «lying» on the trucks.

A recess will be announced and photos of the Merryweather ship can be taken in peace. It, by the way, has a rather funny and amusing name. The fact is that in front of us is a dry cargo ship, as the characters call it, and this is a container ship, judging by the cargo, but the ship is called «SS Bulker», and the bulk carrier and the container ship are different types of ships, although practice shows that one can be used as the second and vice versa. SS is a class of U.S. naval vessel designating an attack utility submarine, although this vessel is actually used for military purposes. However, there are ships in the name of which there is a postscript SS, but they refer to pretty civilian ships — a passenger liner. The mission-preparation for both approaches is related — to steal a bathyscaphe, but for the «Sea Adventure» you will also need to steal an army cargo helicopter Cargobob, the approaches themselves differ significantly. The dry cargo option implies stealth, which then turns into an open firefight with mercenaries, and an adventure — the capture of a superweapon and further shooting of helicopters and boats of a private army from a machine gun. At the same time, you will have to mess with the second option less. Yes, and two training missions mean the simple taking of two gold medals.

22. The Dead Man Walking

We need to prepare for the raid for Cargobob: we will buy the best body armor, choose a fast car and make it armored in LS Customs. The entrance to the base is from the northwest. There are no automated gates that would not let the player into the territory. Although you can take a plane and parachute over a military base directly onto a helicopter. In any case, it simply won’t happen, but the main thing is speed. Once in the helicopter, we quickly gain altitude and leave the base.
