Thanks to a fan modification, the story campaign of the shooter Crysis and the independent expansion Warhead will soon be able to be played from start to finish in the company of a friend.

For the first time, the creators of the cooperative mod announced themselves in 2016, presenting the concept project Crysis Co-op . Since then, a team of enthusiasts have revised their approach to its creation, starting from scratch.

In addition to adding co-op, the upcoming add-on will replace elements of the online service Gamespy with the capabilities of Steam . The game will require the Steam version of Crysis Warhead, otherwise the mod will not work.

When playing in co-op, you can resurrect a fallen comrade using a defibrillator. In addition, you will have the opportunity to choose who you want to play as part of the story campaign.

The team is currently awaiting approval from Crytek to release a mod for Crysis Warhead.

A co-op mod for Crysis will be released in December 2019. You can follow the development of the project on its official page .

Modders are preparing to release a full-fledged co-op for Crysis and Crysis Warhead

Crysis Co-op is powered by Crysis Wars, the multiplayer mode bundled with Crysis Warhead. According to the authors, adding co-op to the add-on was especially difficult: they had to recreate the behavior of special types of alien creatures and the mechanics associated with them. The full version of the modification will be characterized by increased stability — playing in cooperative mode, the creators promise, will be almost as comfortable as in single player mode.

Modders are now awaiting approval from Crytek to release the Crysis Warhead co-op campaign. If everything goes well, the modification will be released in December. The current version of the mod can be downloaded from ModDB.
