1 | With this code, it works for a few places, for kafei’s place, swing sword at door to go through. |
2 | With this code, you are able to go through all rocks, freezing ice, people, and other props. Not able to go through doors though. Also immune to some enemies. |
3 | With this code, never play the song of time with this code on, it will erase your game!!! Also never ride Epona. This code’s only use is that it allows you to get to certain save points before you are suppose to. Once you get to a stone owl, save the game. Then turn off this code! |
4 | With this code, you need to press and hold the ‘L’ button to rise up in the air, and then let go when you are at your desired height to fall. |

Majora’s Mask Cheats, Codes, Cheat Codes for Nintendo 64 (N64)
The Legend Of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
Note: This game is also titled Zelda No Densetsu: Majora No Kamen.
Advance time twelve hours
Play the following notes on the Ocarina: C-Right(2), A(2), C-Down(2) to travel to the next time it will be 6:00. For example, if it is currently 6:00 P.M. on the first day and you play the song, you will go to 6:00 A.M. on the second day (twelve hours forward). However, if you play the song at 4:00 A.M. on the first day, you will go to 6:00 A.M. on the first day (2 hours forward).
Slower time with normal movement rate
Play the following notes on the Ocarina (The Song Of Time backwards): C-Down, A, C-Right, C-Down, A, C-Right. Play the song again to return to normal.
Heal signs
Destroy a sign, then play the following notes on the Ocarina (The Song Of Healing): C-Left, C-Right, C-Down.
Hints
- Infinite rupees
Note: The following trick requires a Bomb Bag, Bomb, code for observatory (you can use the front door but the back door is better), the Ocarina Of Time, and the Song Of Time. As an adult buy the Bomb Bag at the Bomb shop (50 coins?), then buy a Bomb or get them free by cutting weeds. Go to the kid that is blocking the observatory and give him the code (you need the code to become an adult). When you get to the water, go left instead of right to find a wall that can be bombed. Bomb it and go inside to find a chest with 100 silver rupees. Go to the bank (the man on the wall opposite the shops in the west part of Clock Town). Deposit the coins and play the Ocarina Of Time. The bank teller has marked you to remember what he owes you, so your cash stays intact in the bank. However, the contents of the chest will reset. This works for all coin chests in the game, so you can use this trick at any time.
On any day, go to the northeast corner of Clock Town. Turn and walk south to the edge of the ledge (be careful not to fall off). Turn around and give yourself some speed. Run toward the edge and press A before reaching the edge and Link will roll. You will land on the next ledge. From there, jump across on the decorations of the building going south until you are above the shooting gallery. Turn right and follow the roof until you get to the treasure chest. The chest contains 100 silver rupees. Remember to go to the banker and deposit your money to save it. Play your Ocarina to start at day one and repeat.
Enter Termina Field from South Clock Town and head towards the Milk Road. There will be a bird that attacks you and steals your items. Use the Deku Mask, target the bird, and shoot bubbles at him in the air. When he attacks, spin attack it. The bird will die after a few hits, and you will get 200 rupees. This can be repeated as needed.
Path through the woods
The path through the woods differs each day. For example, on the first day it is left, right, right, straight, left, left. On the second day, it is right, left, straight, left, left, right.
Laboratory code
The code for the laboratory to get the Moon Tears changes from game to game. It is determined by the order you find the five bomber kids. Each of them have a number on their back. The code is their numbers in the order that you found them. To find out what the code is, you must first pop the balloon with a bubble, arrow, or Zora Link’s boomerang (preferably the bubble). Then, talk to the small kid who was trying to pop it. Tell him you want to try his test, and if you can locate and catch all five kids before the next morning you will receive the code. To catch a kid, run up to him. When he starts to run away, stand still. After running a short distance, he will stop running. When he stops, shoot him with a Deku Bubble Attack. The kid should be caught. Note: The kid carrying the Cucco must be shot once before he starts running, then again after he stops.
Change masks faster
Simply press the C button your mask is on a lot. Instead of the sequence where Link puts on the mask he will have the mask on faster.
Farther Distance with Deku Link
Use the following trick while on a lillypad or a place where you need to hop to another place when using Deku Link. Before you start hopping on the water, do the spinning attack so you can go at a faster speed. The extra speed will allow you to reach a bit farther then before.
Note: You must have a 2.5 or higher version of the Game Shark to use these codes.

Majora’s Mask — one of Nintendo’s darkest and weirdest games — Games on DTF
Apocalypse that repeats itself every three days.
11518
views
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time. Among the fans, it is considered that this part is one of the darkest and at the same time strange games in the series.
In the story, Link enters Termina, an alternate version of Hyrule, which is in peril as a powerful demon has caused the moon to de-orbit and fall to the planet’s surface. To prevent a catastrophe, the protagonist is forced to go back in time again and again, three days before the end of the world. nine0003
Retelling an excerpt about the making of Majora’s Mask from Gabe Durham’s Boss Fight Books series. Initially, the game was not even in the plans — it was developed using the assets of the previous part in just a year and a half.
Ocarina of Time became a resounding success not only for Nintendo, but for the entire industry of that time as a whole — in the first week the game was bought a million times. In total, over 7.6 million copies have been sold.
To build on the success, the developers, led by legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, wanted to release something like a New Game+ for Ocarina of Time — Second Quest. This is an additional hard mode that has already appeared in previous games in the series: the world was mirrored in it, and the enemies dealt double damage. Dungeons have also been heavily reworked. nine0003
But the dungeon designer, Eiji Aonuma, didn’t want to just redo the newly created levels, which he told the game designer about. In response, Miyamoto offered him something else — to make a new part of Zelda using the Ocarina of Time engine and assets. The team was given only one year to develop. The designer spoke about this in one of the editions of the interview “Iwata Asks” (“Iwata asks”, talking about Satoru Iwata, the previous president of Nintendo).
However, in another interview, Aonuma told the story slightly differently. Allegedly, at first the designer agreed to make Second Quest, but then «could not get involved in the work. » He refused to redo the old dungeons and started creating new ones, and eventually it grew into an independent project. nine0003
I plucked up the courage to ask Miyamoto-san if I could make a new game, to which he replied that it would be fine if you could do it in a year.
Eiji Aonuma, Ocarina of Time dungeon designer and Majora’s Mask
game designer
So Aonuma actually became the game designer for the next part of the series. Miyamoto could not and did not want to reskin Ocarina of Time, while Aonuma knew the technical aspects of the previous game inside and out.
We were faced with an important question — what game could come out after Ocarina of Time and its seven million copies sold?
Eiji Aonuma, Ocarina of Time dungeon designer and Majora’s Mask
game designer
Ocarina of Time
Aonuma had a very small team at his disposal. The newly minted game designer understood that the future game would have to be scaled down — however, he did not want fans to be upset about a less ambitious sequel. He needed a «smart idea» to sit on two chairs at once. nine0003
To do this, he contacted Yoshiaki Koizumi, his friend and game director of Ocarina of Time. At this point, Koizumi was developing a board game for Nintendo about cops who had to catch robbers within a limited amount of time. Due to the small scale of the game, it could be replayed over and over again.
Aonuma told the game director about his idea — and he agreed to help only if «he will be allowed to do whatever he wants.» So the idea of a board game about cops formed the basis of Majora’s Mask. nine0003
Technically [in the tabletop] you should have caught the criminal in a week — but in reality the game could have been finished in an hour. And I realized that I would just throw into Majora’s Mask the ideas that I already had by that moment.
Yoshiaki Koizumi, Game Director
In order for the player to enjoy the same events in the same places, the game had to work not in breadth, but in depth.

The original board was inspired by the German thriller Run Lola Run by Tom Tykwer. In the movie, a girl named Lola had to deliver a huge amount of money in twenty minutes to save her boyfriend. In the process, she is killed — after which time is rewound back, and she, remembering her death, starts anew.
Koizumi suggested to Aonuma the following idea: «What if we made something like ‘Lola’?» He liked the idea, after which the developers came up with the following concept — so that the game repeats a cycle of three days again and again. The mechanics were based on the dynamic change of time of day and night, which was already implemented in Ocarina of Time. nine0003
Miyamoto liked the idea because it was in line with his belief that absolutely all games should be replayable.
It’s useless to make something that the players run through in one go like it’s a movie. The full pleasure of the work appears gradually, with each new look — until all the details are revealed.
Shigeru Miyamoto, game designer
It was originally planned that in Majora’s Mask Link would have a whole week at his disposal until the end of the world. But the developers quickly realized that it would be quite difficult for players to keep in mind everything that happens for seven days. nine0003
You simply can’t remember who did what every day. And if you were to go back to the beginning of the week, would you think, «I’m going to have to replay the whole week again?»

Majora’s Mask
Koizumi continued to be torn between two projects — Majora’s Mask and the board game. Miyamoto ended up telling him to concentrate on The Legend of Zelda. nine0003
I hear a whisper… Zelda… Zelda… Zelda…! And then my game gets cancelled. I’m shocked. (laughs)
Yoshiaki Koizumi, game director
As the author of the story noted, during a joint interview, Miyamoto and Koizumi laughed while telling this story — but when the board game was canceled, the game designer was clearly not laughing. The Japanese are extremely polite to each other — it is unlikely that Koizumi would be offended in public.
But when the game director was «pushed» to Majora’s Mask, it was not at all clear what his task on the new project was.
When the design of my other game was scrapped, our development team was left with nothing to do. I asked Miyamoto what should I do? And he replied: “Do everything you can!”. It didn’t help at all!
Yoshiaki Koizumi, Game Director
As
Majora’s Mask grew, it became clear that Aonuma and his team were short of people. nine0003
I tried to do everything on my own, but I had no choice but to ask Koizumi for help. I wouldn’t have been able to do it alone.

Whether Koizumi liked it or not, The Legend of Zelda was the company’s second biggest IP — developing a new game in the series was prioritized over a simple board game. In the future, the game director became a producer and actually led the production of Mario games — already the first most important IP for Nintendo. nine0003
The fact that Shigeru Miyamoto had almost no involvement in the creation of Majora’s Mask came as a surprise to the developers, even though he had promised them so from the very beginning. By that point, the game designer was notorious for being able to push for big changes even late in production, and everyone listened to him.
While Majora’s Mask was being created, Miyamoto worked on other projects such as Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Mario Tennis, Paper Mario, Mario Party 3, and Pokémon Stadium 2. The game designer was also involved in the creation of Nintendo’s next console, the GameCube. nine0003
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Team Zelda was unaccustomed to Miyamoto’s lack of control, especially after his meticulous focus on Ocarina of Time. As Koizumi recalls, employees whispered among themselves, “Miyamoto didn’t say a word. He’ll say something someday, won’t he?»
In the office, one could not wait for the phrase «Good job» from him. And when Mr. Iwata came to us, he said that Mr. Miyamoto liked the game. I answered: “What? But he never told me that! I think there are some benefits to getting compliments for your work. nine0003

In an interview, Aonuma described Miyamoto as someone who was used to «turning tea tables» — a reference to the manga Kyojin no Hoshi («Star of the Giants»), in which a strict conservative father hit his son so hard that food fell off the table.
Only this time the game was “beaten”, and pieces of code “flew away”.
When the development was close to completion and there was very little polish left, Mr. Miyamoto would invariably turn over the tea table, and the direction in which we were all moving would suddenly change. nine0003

However, Aonuma is grateful for the experience he will gain while working with Miyamoto.
I spent even more time with Miyamoto at work than with my father. […] I’m still surprised by his opinion, and I’m far from his farsightedness.

However, in the case of Majora’s Mask, instead of keeping the team in a tight rein, Miyamoto actually entrusted the development to other people — and if he had not, perhaps we would not have seen such a dark and such a strange The Legend of Zelda . As Durham emphasized in his story, now the developers had to “turn the tables” on their own. nine0003

The Legend of Zelda: Art and Artifacts
On April 27, 2000, such a cartridge for the Nintendo 64 game console appeared on the shelves of Japanese stores for the first time:
Not by itself, but, suddenly, in a box.
From this moment on, you can count down the endless praising of the content of this cartridge bordering on fanaticism. And whether the game, imprisoned inside, deserves at least part of its reputation as the darkest and most mysterious game in The Legend of Zelda series, I will try to reveal on a personal example. nine0003
Link’s adventure that started Zeldo Fever.
I first came into contact with the game a year ago during a volley of all parts of the series, impressed by the most recent of them at the time, Breath of the Wild. I flew into it right after Ocarina of Time, and I don’t advise jumping over, because the game is a direct sequel and expects you to experience gameplay and knowledge of the backstory.
Here I realized that Nintendo gameplay is power. nine0003
There’s a lot to be said about the history of the game in those 20 years, but who cares? Most importantly, the best version lives on the Nintendo 3DS, along with a restoration mod via CFW or the Citra emulator. Playing on a real 3DS is the best, but if you need a Nintendo 64 version, check out Nerrel’s texture pack. Also, the fans made a translation of both versions, however, it is better not to place high hopes on the quality.
Something you won’t see on the Nintendo 3DS. nine0003
How is this game in the series different from others? In it, the main role is occupied by the time cycle system that flows in front of the player. The characters have their own schedule, and grabbing them at the right time is part of the game. What happens is divided into 3 days, on which side quests are based: the focus of the game extends to them no less than to dungeons, so lovers of stories outside the main one are completely expanse here. You can keep up with them with the Reverse Song of Time, which slows time by half in the pristine version of the 3DS, and three times slower in the original N64 and restored 3DS. Among the quests, there are those that require the player only to find themselves at the right time and in the right place, while others are giants that stretch until the last minute before the fall of the moon. At the end of many quests, the player receives a Mask: sometimes directly applicable in different game situations, and sometimes a simple “memento”, with no function other than a reminder. At least once the quests are intertwined: having prevented a crime on the night street of the Clock Town, it will not be possible to investigate its consequences otherwise. nine0003
There is something to remind you of. When the player plays the Song of Time, many things fall back into place: characters, bombs and arrows, rupees. Everyone that the player has helped in the last cycle returns to their previous existence, awaiting death. But this does not mean that it will not work at all to help solve their problems: before the last battle, the Hero of Time has a choice of whom to come to help for the last time. However, if the Mask from the quest has already been received, it is not necessary to do it again.
Picture with sound. nine0003
The biggest impressions come from the intense emotions that the game masterfully evokes. The consequences, past and future, fall on the player’s head in a big lump of awareness of the situation. Surely you yourself are afraid of death, but here every inhabitant meets this fear directly, you just have to raise your eyes to the sky. Their tragic journey from rejection to (not) readiness for death, they go not only next to the main character, but sometimes with those who are dear to them, which makes the player an observer, not a hero in their last moments, before jerking back in time. It is impossible not to empathize with these characters, brought together by an imminent threat. nine0003
As much as one would like to limit oneself to empathy, the effect of what is happening is transferred to the player, and not only thanks to this vague term, «atmosphere». The fourth wall, if not broken at all, then repeatedly loosened. Some of the speeches of the characters you meet (especially among the last four) are addressed to the player, but you take something at all at your own expense.
The question is addressed to several characters.
nine0002 The game is designed in such a way that (optimally) with each entry into the game, the world around begins from the first day, and the player chooses an activity for himself: move through the story, go storm the dungeon, collect items, play mini-games, or pester characters . But this way of playing is not suitable for everyone.
Jeez…
This was my second Zelda, and, as it turned out later, the most difficult. Judging by the reaction of the Internet, many do not like the constantly ticking timer. I didn’t think I would like it either. And although I am generally the last person among fans of such countdowns, this mechanic has taken root. Yes, I used save states in difficult situations (curses!) and read the guide (bloody me!), but even so, there was enough time. Failing quests can force you to return to the beginning of the cycle, and if one of the big ones fails, it will make you sad. But…
…and don’t cheat!
Closure. I keep hearing that word. It’s the theater of the absurd. Everybody knows that on television they’ll see the end of the story in the last 15 minutes of the thing. It’s like a drug. To me, that’s the beauty of ‘Twin Peaks.’ We throw in some curve balls. As soon as a show has a sense of closure, it gives you an excuse to forget you’ve seen the damn thing.
David Lynch, Co-creator of Twin Peaks
Majora’s Mask differs significantly in storytelling from other games in the series, influenced by the choice of engine for the previous game, Ocarina of Time. The history of the game does not give positive answers to what exactly happened, and who Link actually met. This led to a bunch of different fan theories, and to this day, the history of Termina does not give rest to controversy. Thematic focuses are appropriately placed, evoking emotion in a not-so-coherent, non-linear story. All this is very interesting to watch, especially when the producer and essentially the guiding force of the entire series, Eiji Aonuma, is asked about them during an interview. Nintendo itself doesn’t mind giving fans something to think about, as we learned that Link from Ocarina and Majora is the same character as Link’s sparring partner in Twilight Princess, which conjures up vivid images. nine0003
A rather sad fate overtakes the Hero of Time.
What am I talking about? It is very difficult to approach the creation of anything and correctly arrange the breadcrumbs for those who are interested and not break into an explanation of everything and everything. Sometimes your vision may not coincide with that of the fans, sometimes they will deny your vision — the death of the author. In Majora, everything is just fine with this. It’s been a year since I first played this game, but I still can’t stop thinking about it. Even after all subsequent games in the series, it does not cease to influence my attitude towards the series as a whole. That the two directors, Eiji Aonume and Yoshiaki Koizumi, and the rest of them, managed to do it in just a year is not just commendable. In many ways, it is for this reason that the game has embodied in what I try to moderately praise in this text. When there is no time to think things through and compare focus tests, and there is practically no time for prototyping, development becomes an intuitive approach in which, pardon the expression, the game is given the form that it itself calls to life. The failed attempt to «simplify» it in the remake only confirms that looking at a game too closely can lose its essence, even if you’ve already made it 15 years ago. nine0003
We forgive everything, but it was still not worth being ashamed of the original game.
This is a game that uses the relationship between characters as a driving force, permeating the entire world of Terms with tests of friendship and love against the backdrop of inevitable death. It brings gameplay unique to the series and does not forget about high-quality dungeons, complementing all this with extraterrestrial musical accompaniment. I can confidently say that this is the most outstanding game among the already unique The Legend of Zelda series. nine0003
If you haven’t played this game yet, you will find numerous surprises and metaphorical punches in the gut. It’s one of the most memorable gaming experiences in front of you, even if you don’t like it in the end. The influence of the Mask of Majora will not weaken even after the passage, and it will be difficult not to try it on again.
Doesn’t let go anymore
I almost (ha) made it, only slightly yielding to «the dawn of a new day».
