For example, building your perfect house is literally impossible without cheats like Move Objects, so in certain situations, you must simply use cheats! However, what about the Mac cheats for Sims 4?

Well, since the Sims 4 is available on multiple different platforms, the use of cheats is a bit different on each of them. There are different commands and ways to activate cheats in Sims 4, so you should know how to approach cheating in this game for your specific platform.

The Mac players may find it interesting that the cheats are nearly the same as on PC. There is almost no difference to the activating of cheats too. So if you’re familiar with using cheats while playing The Sims 4 on a PC, you’ll have no problem using them on your Mac too.

The Sims 4 is a unique game in the sense that it requires enabling cheats before you do any cheating. This is quite the opposite of video games such as Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, for example. There, you only need to type your cheat command (a specific combination of letters on your keyboard) and the cheat is immediately activated.  

But in Sims 4, you have to enable cheats if you want the cheats to actually work.

Here I have an entire guide dedicated to enabling cheats in Sims 4. It covers everything from Windows PC and Mac to the consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. But for now, here is everything you need to know to enable cheats in Sims 4 on your Mac today!

  1. Hold down CMD + SHIFT + C on your keyboard. When you press these 3 buttons on your keyboard, the command console box will pop up. That’s the small window in the top left corner of your screen. In it go all the cheats you want to use in Sims 4.
  2. Type “testingcheats true” in the command console box. Testingcheats true is the command line that gives permission for all other cheats to work in your game. You can also use “testingcheats on”, which does the exact same thing.
  3. Press Enter. Once you’re done typing and hitting Enter, the game will immediately notify you that you’re about to enable cheats. This means that you won’t be able to earn achievements while cheats are on. Agree to continue.

The Best Sims 4 Cheats for Mac

Building Cheats

Since the building is one of the most important things in Sims 4, it’s good to start here. The way the building is designed in Sims 4 is pretty limited, so you’ll definitely need these cheats in your journey.

The first cheat you need to know is the Move Objects cheat or bb.moveobjects on. As its name suggests, this cheat allows you to move any object in any place you want. For example, you can take a vase, place it on a counter, and move it left, right, up, or down as much as you like. This cheat is simply a must!

The second most important build cheat in Sims 4 is Show Hidden objects cheat or bb.showhiddenobjects. It allows you to access all the hidden items in your game, so you can have greater freedom when it comes to building and decorating.

Relationship Cheats

Developing a relationship between two Sims isn’t easy. And instead of wasting hours and hours of your time forcing interactions, you can use the relationship cheat to instantly boost the relationship status.

This is the relationship cheat:

modifyrelationship [sim 1’s first name] [sim 1’s last name] [sim 2’s first name] [sim 2’s last name] [# of relationship strength] [relationship type]

The command is pretty self-explanatory. First, you’ll have to insert your Sims’ names. Second, you’ll have to enter the relationship strength number, which can be anything from -100 to 100 (100 is the strongest and the negative is the opposite). And third, you’ll have to determine what type of relationship you want for those two Sims. Here’s what you can place in the last part of the cheat.

  • LTR_Romance_Main – romance between two Sims.
  • LTR_Friendship_Main – friendship between two Sims.
  • LTR_SimtoPet_Friendship_Main – friendship between a Sim and a pet.

Skill Cheats

The skills cheats are one of the most useful cheats in Sims 4, including Mac. They allow you to instantly boost your skills to level 10 without doing the work. All skills can be increased in Sims 4 using the same cheat but with different variations. Here’s what I mean.

To increase your fitness skill to level 10 in Sims 4, use stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 10. Instead of the number 10, you can put any other level number you like. And if you don’t put any number, the cheat will simply give you the next level (for example, level 4 to level 5).

Pregnancy Cheats

Pregnancy can also be a bothersome process in this game. That’s why I recommend you use these Sims 4 cheats, even if you only casually play the game on your Mac.

  • sims.add_buff buff_pregnancy_trimester1

Mood Cheats

Controlling your Sims’ moods isn’t easy too. You can never really tell how you’re Sim is going to feel, so it’s good to have the option to change that. Luckily for us, there’s a cheat for every moodlet in the game. And by simply inserting it, you’ll immediately grant your Sim that moodlet. Let me give you an example.

To give your Sim the Confident moodlet, use the sims.add_buff ConfidentHigh cheat. The same cheat of sims.add_buff works for any other moodlet. You simply need to know the correct name of the moodlet to activate the cheat.

Once you’ve activated a moodlet cheat, the effect usually lasts for 12 hours. However, some moodlets last for longer.

For MAC OC, one of two key combinations is suitable: CONTROL + SHIFT + C or CMD + SHIFT + С. For example, you can quickly “earn” a large amount of Simoleons and use it to buy anything your Sim wants.   • fullscreen — switch between windowed and full screen game mode
  • headlineeffects (off/on) – disables/enables diamond, thought clouds, conversation icons.
  • sims.modify_in_cas — move the active sim to CAS (only changing clothes, hairstyles, cosmetics, accessories and tattoos is available)
  • Setage — makes the selected sim from any age category an adult setting 1000 time in game = real time).

DO NOT RECOMMEND to use, the game may freeze tightly

  • bb. moveobjects (on/off) – enables/disables the ability to place objects anywhere, even inside each other
  • bb.enablefreebuild – allows editing career sites ( works when you are on a quarry site)
  • hovereffects (on/off) – turns on/off the white outline that appears when you hover over the object
  • testingcheats true – developer code

Codes for which you must first enter the developer code

Some codes require you to first enter another special password for the Sims — the code for developers. Start with simpler cheats, they work without it, for example:

  • Codes for money. Depending on the amount of Simoleons you need, enter “motherlode”, “kaching” or “Rosebud”, which will bring you 50000, 10000 and 1000 Simoleons respectively into your in-game piggy bank.
  • Reset all Sim actions during the game. To perform this action, you need to type “resetsim”, and then write the game NAME and SURNAME of the character.
  • Free houses. If you want to buy any house in SIMS without paying a single Simoleon, then enter the code “freerealestate”.
  • Turn off the conversation and thought cloud icons. If you are tired of looking at the icons appearing above the sims, then the “headlineeffects off” code will help you. In the same way, you can turn them back on by changing the word “off” to “on”.

If you want to approximate the real time in SIMS, you can set an alternative duration of sim seconds using the command ” clock. set_milliseconds_per_sim_second_NUMBER «. An indicator of 1000 will correspond to a normal second in real life. What does the developer code give, how to enter

Unlike simple cheats, this one has more options for editing the in-game world. It allows you to change the parameters of individual Sims and objects on the game map. To activate it, you need to enter the phrase “testingcheatstrue” in the console. You can use the code only if you hold down shift and left-click on the desired Sim or object. In this case, if you click on any active Sim, the following actions will become available:

  • Enable or disable, weaken needs (will be reset when the Sim moves to another lot).
  • Resetting or marriage.
  • Change of clothes.
  • Adding to the family.

The developer code is not used for the general game world, but for individual sims or objects on the game map. Therefore, before using it, you need to select one character or object with the left mouse button.

For objects, actions can be as follows:

  • Restore (debug).
  • Sets the selected object as the head of the active sim (save before applying!). You can only remove it using the debug menu.
  • Cleaning (can only be used on contaminated objects).
  • Contamination.

Also, the developer code allows you to change the needs of a Sim by clicking on the mailbox. At the same time, you can restore, disable or enable the needs of all Sims in the game at the same time.

Developer code

AutomationTestingCheats true — the developer code remains active for the family in which it was entered, regardless of moving around the regions / cities.

The code will be active even if you disable and then re-enable the developer code.

  • bb.showhiddenobjects – enable debug mode (objects from quarries, collections, etc. are unlocked). To access items in buy mode, select sorting by “items by purpose”, then the “Item sorting …” field in “Materials” check the box “Debugging”.

Money

  • Money amount — sets the family budget to the specified amount (replaces the budget with the specified amount)
  • sims.modify_funds amount — adds (positive value) or subtracts (negative value) the specified amount;

Actions, goals and aspirations

  • sims.hard_reset — resets all actions of the sim
  • aspirations. complete_current_milestone — completes all goals of the current stage of the life goal;
